Description of Combat Ability: "The body is a vessel, and within the vessel is one's soul. The soul is fragile, weak, and delicate. However, the soul is a fleeting source of energy that gives one life. The soul is precious, and all living beings contain a soul within their vessels; for once the vessel is broken, the soul escapes, and then the vessel is devoid of life. Therefore, one must train their vessel to protect the soul. If the soul is the sword, then the vessel is the shield."

Since his arrival to Haven Academy, Qiu'li had experienced various forms of fighting styles and techniques. While his current style is reminiscent of his ruggish style back home of improvised attacks and swift transformations, Qiu'li has refined his skills which allows him to strike more effectively while moving. While not nearly as strong of an impact, versatility and swift strikes are his preference.

Rank of Weapon(s): F
Description of Weapons(s): Lóngtóu is a two-handed broadsword with 9 rings affixed along the back edge of the sword, which measures about 84 cm from the tip of the sword to the guard. The weapon is fairly worn from fighting off bandits and defending against Grimm, but well maintained. The blade is made of forged steel, while the handle is wrapped in a durable, crimson red cloth. Although the sword is meant to be used for two hands, it can also be handled effectively with one hand given the proper technique. The broadsword is based on the Chinese Dao variant that had rings affixed on the back of the blade that made a distinct ringing noise when shaken. The name Lóngtóu translates to the “Dragon’s Head.”
Panlong or “Coiling Serpent” is a 3-section staff comprised of 3 metal staffs, each roughly 65 cm long connected by a metal chain. He can control the rigidity of the staff’s section at will by pulling on the chain, which allows him to each fight with 3 connected staffs or one long staff. When not in use, Qiu'li can fold it parallel to each other and affix them to his waist belt for ease of use. When in combat, Qiu'li can switch off from Lóngtóu to Panlong, or affix them together to create a glaive (Guandao).
The ferocity of Qiu'li’s strikes and the speed which he swings the weapon leaves behind a resounding screech as the metal rings clang against the edge of the sword in unison. This effect has dubbed his weapon the nickname: Lóng páoxiāo or “Dragon’s Roar”.

When in combat, Qiu'li can switch off from Lóngtóu to Panlong, or affix them together to create a glaive (Guandao). When in glaive form, Qiu'li can activate a triggering mechanism that fires Lóngtóu from Panlong with chains affixed to the end of the sword originating from the staff. However, upon firing the blade, the staff cannot be broken into it's 3 section form.
One Sentence Summary of Semblance:Fènnù(Fury) is a Transformation Semblance that increases his reflexes, strength, and allows him to perform a slash that sends out a short distance projectile.
Description of Semblance: Upon suffering damage during combat, Qiu’li accumulates an amount of energy into his weapon, which is drained from his Aura. Sufficient accumulation, which is equivalent to energy from 1 attacks of E-Rank or 2 attacks of F-Rank, allows him to channel his Aura into his Semblance, Fènnù. After activation of Fènnù, which is indicated by small visible clouds of steam emitting off his skin, his reaction time increases significantly and his strikes feel heavier hitting in terms of raw strength. In addition, Qiu’li is able to materialize his Aura and concentrate it into the shape of his bladed weapon. Doing so, he can forcefully send out his aura in a crescent shaped beam of energy towards his enemies. The projectile beam can travel up to 10 meters and capable of breaking stone. Mechanically, Fènnù gives Qiu'li enhanced agility, strength, and a ranged attack when active.
Drawbacks of Semblance: The major drawback of his Semblance is the requirement to activate it: Qiu’li must take on attacks and accumulate damage in order to channel the impact and force of the attack into his weapon and by extension, himself. This becomes a huge risk as subsequent attacks will put him at greater risk for sustaining damage and does not bode well for long, drawn out battles. In order to send out his aura projectiles, Qiu’li must perform a full swing in order to send it out, which leaves him vulnerable to a counterattack or unable to do so in close quarter environments.
New Skill Fènnù
Rank of Semblance: D
Semblance Type: Transformation
One Sentence Summary of Semblance:Fènnù(Fury) is a Transformation Semblance that increases his reflexes, strength, and allows him to perform a slash that sends out a short distance projectile.
Description of Semblance: Upon suffering damage during combat, Qiu’li accumulates an amount of energy into his weapon, which is drained from his Aura. Sufficient accumulation, which is equivalent to half of his current total Aura, allows him to channel his Aura into his Semblance, Fènnù. After activation of Fènnù, which is indicated by streams of visible clouds of steam emitting off his skin, his reaction time increases significantly and his strikes feel heavier hitting in terms of raw strength. In addition, Qiu’li is able to materialize his Aura and concentrate it into the shape of his bladed weapon. Doing so, he can forcefully send out his aura in a crescent shaped beam of energy towards his enemies. The projectile beam can travel a distance approximately the length of a semi-truck (between 15-18 meters) and capable of breaking soft metal. Mechanically, Fènnù gives Qiu'li enhanced agility, strength, and a ranged attack when active which lasts a total of four posts followed by a three post cooldown.
Description: Training alone in the mountains means one must be cautious of their surroundings. In an environment where groups mean a higher chance of survival, Qiu'li was drilled into concealing his presence to avoid conflict with said groups. Upon entering Haven, he has continued to pursue this path of concealing his presence by dampening his footsteps, slowing his breathing, and using distraction tools to draw attention away from himself. As long as Qiu'li is not under direct line of sight or under low-light conditions, Qiu'li is less likely to be noticed.
