TRP is a post-Great War AU RWBY RP set in Mistral City and Haven Academy with no canons, no rank claims, no maidens, and no god interference. We offer a progression system and site-wide events that change the setting based on player actions.
It wasn't enough. He wasn't good enough. Arno couldn't pull off what he wanted to. He wasn't a hero and he certainly didn't help those around him. Ruqa was gone, Alice and Alexandros couldn't fight them off. He'd save Alice briefly but it wasn't enough to avert disaster. They were gone and he was alone against their entire team. Heroes aren't supposed to lose. Heroes never lose! They can't fall like this. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. Arno felt like the entire world had fallen out from under him as he looked at what remained of team MRLT. They were damaged sure. But they would be more than enough to finish him off. Heroes don't lose. They fight to the end in a glorious last stand. Heroes admit defeat. Arno knew, or at least expected he'd fall here. So he'd at least go down with a grin on his face and a heroic pose to end it all off. He looked at the closest camera and gave it the most heroic smile he could. Sure, he was injured and even the crowd could see how pained he looked. His aura was burning hard to keep up but even it would eventually fade. Well. Time to go out swinging. With the cry of "I. AM. HERE!" Arno would charge at Engram, attempting to recreate what he'd just tried but with the determination of someone with quite literally nothing except his aura left to lose. (264/1629)

Always remember to smile!
❝
With a crack of her rife Alice couldn't help but smile with perhaps a far to wide grin as she watched the last of the sniper aura break. It had been a pain in the ass to get to them and even now she was having to dodge the blonde damn energy attacks, but thankfully either she wasn't a great aim or in a panic about someone getting so close. Shoulder pressed up against the water wall Alice bolted her rife to ready another shot. Readying to rush the girl one more time after the shot, however that part of the plane would fail long before then. It wasn't until she heard the rushing of footsteps in the muck that Alice whipped around at the charging man far too late.
Alice tried to get a shot off but the man speed was something she just couldn't get used to. She was fast, but his burst of speed always got through her. Worst it was another damn shoulder charges! "Well, Shi...." It was all the time she had to say as she felt the shoulder slam into her sending the two of them flying through the water wall and her slamming into a tree. Instantly knocking the air from her as she hit with no aura leaving her wheezing on the ground. The only thing that made the event bearable was the fact that the beef head in either his rage or rush ended up also hitting the sniper.
Unlike the others, Alice didn't bother to get up right away, mostly because she couldn't breathe for a minute and that the fighting was happening away so she felt she had the time. Giving her plenty of time to think on the fight and pick out where she felt she fucked up and boy there were more than a few. With a sad smile, she watched as the last of her team aura died away upon the large overhead monitor. Unless Arno could pull something from his bag of tricks it was looking like this was a loss for Team MARS. "Well... this is embarrassing." She said thinking about her siblings that were more than likely watching from the stands above.

Perhaps in a perfect world, Arno Mach might have been able to pull off a stunning display of skill and power to win MARS the match. But reality is often disappointing. His initial shot fired sailed past Engram Ruskea without so much as a flicker of Aura to indicate even the most glancing of hits, and the charge he made only served to bring him within range of the bull Faunus' axe. Said axe was promptly brought down upon the would be hero with enough force to smash him face down into the concrete with cracks spiderwebbing out from the point of impact, a blow that would have no doubt rent him cleanly into two parts had he not had the protection of Aura. Unable to take the abuse, Arno's Aura shattered into a hundred shards of blue that faded away immediately. He would most certainly be sore in the days to come.
The watching crowd didn't seem very pleased. Many of them had come hoping to see satisfying battles and flashy displays of Semblances and skill, but the battle this time had been, frankly, boring. MRLT had taken a defensive position for much of the match, waiting for their opponents to approach them, and MARS had obliged by charging straight towards their opponents without much forethought. Neither of these strategies were particularly interesting to watch, especially with the lack of commentary from any licensed Huntsmen or Huntresses, and as such this match in particular didn't stand out much when compared to those of the other students that had come before. The difference in Aura level, forethought, and coordination between the two teams made for a rather poor show too - MARS hadn't shown much sign of communication between their members, each meandering off to do their own thing in comparison to MRLT's closely knit formation and game plan. In fact, as Arno himself had shown, the lack of communication was so severe that friendly fire had been a very real and evident threat.
Moreover, Ruqa Reyes in particular had been quite the fan favorite before now, in no small part due to the sheer amount of memes that had grown up around her after her participation and excellence in the escort mission of the Argus Limited's delivery of essential communications equipment from Haven to Argus. More than a few people had come hoping to see similar unorthodox strategies to be marveled at, or a show of unparalleled skill like the rumors had made her out to be, only to be disappointed. The Bringer of the Internet, apparently, was not all that she was made out to be, looking less and less like a mainstay Huntress as things went on and more like a flash in the pan.
MRLT would advance to the next round, while MARS would not, being relegated to the Wild Card rounds, where perhaps they might have a better chance of fighting opponents closer to their level. Collectively, the combat capability of MARS might have dwarfed that of MRLT, but in not moving together, with only a rudimentary attempt to cover each other's weaknesses, they were full of openings that the other team was able to exploit to devastating effect. All in all, it was a poor showing for Haven Academy - but perhaps that was to be expected for an Academy rebuilding their student core so soon after the Fall.
