Taela Rauollr
"You can trust me."
| Age 20 Gender Female Faction Asche Syndicate Tier Freshman Face Claim Ayunda Risu from Hololive OOC Name Flamenami |
Character Traits
Date of Birth: 3 April, 6 AV
Species: Squirrel Faunus (Ears and Tail)
Romantic Orientation: Asexual
Aura Color: Bright Red
Height: 159 cm
Weight: 63 kg.
Inspiration: Ratatoskr, the Messenger of the Gods and Menace of the World Tree
Color Naming Rule: Raullr is a combination of the words "Rauor" and "Illr", old Norse for Red and Evil respectively.
Appearance: Taela is small for her age, and does not give off an intimidating aura. Short and fair skinned, she has short brown locks and green eyes. Given her petite and skinny form, she may be mistaken to be physically weak. Under her clothes, however, she is quite a muscular person, training regularly to upkeep her strength. She doesn't disguise her faunus nature normally.
She usually wears a white dress with brown trim, a red bow, and the usual anti-upskirt technology, along a pink sweater with a little red. She wears a pink cap on her head, which has orange feathers attached. To finish off her look, she wears white thigh high stockings and brown shoes.
Personality: Taela initially comes off as a kind, thoughtful girl. She acts friendly and heroic, defending any innocents nearby, even if she usually fails when she tries. She always tries to be helpful, even if her advice just leads to make even more trouble for you. She's a kind, if a little dumb and ditzy girl who couldn't pose a threat to a nearby fly, even if she wanted to.
Whenever she feels confident that she will not be found out, she drops her kind facade and reveals her true self. In reality, Taela is cruel, heartless, and sadistic. Her "blunders" are deliberate, as she enjoys watching others suffer. Her words are scathing, and almost always hit a sensitive topic. To top it off, she's rather intelligent under her stupid persona, so that just helps catch one off guard when she shows them what she really is under the cute squirrel's skin.
Taela doesn't care for material possessions like money or payment, seeing them as means to an end. That end, of course, is the pleasure that watching others suffer brings her. While it was mentioned that she sometimes drops her kind facade, that's usually not what she does. Instead, she enjoys driving others to insanity using her semblance to speak in their head and appear as a disembodied voice. Her favourite feeling to see on peoples' faces is betrayal.
Taela is a meticulous planner, ensuring that her every move is calculated in order to increase her chances of success as much as possible. The only people she respects enough to take orders from are Gryphen and Nyx, because it's thanks to them that she feels so much joy nowadays

The Presence

Description of Semblance: The Presence allows Taela to speak in another person's head as a disembodied, unrecognisable voice. She has to first touch a person to be able to use The Presence on them, but for an entire month after activation, she can use her semblance to talk to people in their minds. Once the month wears off, she has to touch that person again to speak to them again. She can choose whether to accept responses to her messages or not, though she typically does enjoy listening to what nasty things people have to say about the Presence.
Drawbacks of Semblance: Taela cannot use The Presence on a person without touching them or their clothes that they are currently wearing with her hand first, and even then her influence wears off and she has to touch them again to reactivate the Presence. Biography
Personality/History Freeform
Taela Rauollr was a mistake. At least, that's what her parents told her. Father had always been very clear that she only existed because Mother had been unfaithful, and was only kept around at Mother's insistence. She wasn't sure why Mother had decided to keep her, considering how much she told Taela that she hated her, that she served as a constant reminder of her infidelity.
Growing up, she learned how to lie. How to deceive. How to convince Father that she had not been stealing food from the kitchen. How to convince Mother that she was not responsible for the broken ceramics. How to avoid the punishments and greater than usual ire of her parents.
Mother and Father should have divorced. It's what happened in all the books. But... they never did. Sometimes, however, she would sneak around when her parents weren't looking and listen in on them. From what she had heard, Mother and Father's union had been a business marriage. They did love each other, but they didn't anymore and couldn't afford to break up? On her 10th birthday, she decided to make them love each other. She went to one of the kitchens in their expensive mansions and tried to make the break-fast thing she always saw them eating, something she never got.
When she turned the switch on the oven, something... spawned around the cooktop. She watched in awe as the strangle blue thing flickered around. She tried to poke it, and yelped instinctively. It had bit her! Fine, she'd poke it with a stick. So she did. Suddenly, there was another specimen of the strange flickering thing on the stick, this time an orange one. She watched it in wonder, and tripped. And then the strange orange being touched the curtains. And then it was EVERYWHERE! It was surrounding everything and coming to her. Remembering how that it had bit her, she ran towards the outside of the house. As she ran, a new sound came into existence. Loud, blaring, painful. Then it was raining indoors. But the rain didn't do anything as the orange beast roared, consuming everything. Then came the screams. Loud, piercing, ear-splitting. They made her feel... something. Something she hadn't felt before. It felt... nice. Taela was the only person in the great mansion who didn't perish when the squirrel faunus discovered fire.
For years, Taela had almost nothing. Well, at least the strange sharp pokey stick was still with her. She had learned how to use it to keep away the bad people. Then she learned how to speak properly from listening to conversations. Then she learned how to fight with her blade proper. She sought trouble, longing for the strange feeling she had felt on the night of the burning mansion. Seeking trouble, she became quite adept with her sharp pokey thing, which she had come to learn was called a cutlass. She unlocked a special power, something called a aura, then a unique one called a semblance. She had learned about jobs, society, money, and everything a real adult would have to know. She made barely any Lien working odd jobs, but it was enough for her to live. It sure beat eating the stuff in trash cans.
One of the most important lessons that living on the streets taught her was about people. People were stupid. Disloyal. Easily turned. You provided them with information, even if that information was fake, and they turn on each other as easily as a dragon turns on an eagle and vice versa. People swearing to stay together tearing each other apart like rabid dogs. After all, the voice inside them, telling them to hurt, to kill... It was their own, was it not? When she watched two or more good friends ripping into each other like that, with their hands and with their words, it filled her with that same feeling that she had felt as she watched her mansion burn. She craved for more. It felt like... hunger. Yes, she liked it.
Unfortunately for her, a few people eventually got wind of her true nature, and when it got out that she had turned so many good friends on each other and had no intention of stopping, she become a pariah. Among the homeless, this wouldn't have mattered. She'd easily be able to fight off whatever hobos came at her. However, this info spread to the vendors. So no more free stuff or leniency for Taela. The only good thing was that nobody had yet learned of her semblance. And yet... she didn't regret her actions in the slightest. Was this... normal?
Her life changed on a random, insignificant day when she met the Asche Syndicate. Small but growing in power, some of the members had heard of a squirrel faunus who lied as easily as she breathed, who was hated for her deceptions. They heard about how good she had been when people trusted her, how nobody bothered to question if what she said was true or not until the evidence of her lies was cleanly in front of them, as well as her sadistic streak. They decided to try and recruit her, offering her food, a place to live, and most of all, an outlet to fulfill her sadistic desires in exchange for her services. It was on that day that the Asche Syndicate gained a new member.
