Jade made her way over to team BLADE'S dorm room to clean it like she does everyday after classes and before lunch. Pulling out her scroll she put it to the scroll holder next to the keypad and unlocked the door by punching in the number "oh come on by the brothers are you fuckin kidding me how does the bastard keep getting in here and trashing the place. "whoever you are that's doing this you not making this easy on me you know that." Why what did they ever do to you?" She pulled out her picture of her and team blade before they came to heaven and broken down and started crying it was bad wouth they went missing now someone was activally trashing their room.

I was just minding my own business that day, making the trip back from the library where I had been collecting some useful books and discretely giving back some of the ones I had taken before and now was returning maybe in not the best of conditions nor in the most adequate timeframe.

But I suspected the library lady liked me because she always pretended not to notice it and often gave me lemon candies and shit every time I went there.

She also called me George from time to time, so not so sure about her having all the soldiers well lined up there. Nor the veracity of her asseverations about not needing glasses nor a hearing device. But anyway, if she was happy that way...

It was then than I noticed something that gave me pause, the muted, worrying sound of a small wailing in the distance that in no time at all draw my curiosity towards it like a moth's wings are drawn towards the flame.

And towards an open door, and while peeking inside I was able to see some completedly devastated living quarters and, in the center of it all, a girl... No, too big to be called a girl. A woman, loudly crying as she contemplated the state of the room, a small object clutched in her hands and her back turned towards me, gently rising and falling with every expiration.

She was really tall and well built. Not at the extreme people like Berwyn or Arno could boast about, but I felt confident in saying she was at least an equal to Jacqueline’s most violent side, maybe even bulkier.

But the most noticeable traits were undoubtedly her massive wings, so big there was no plausible way to hide them even with specialized clothing.

I ventured to guess her wingspan could probably be large enough to touch two opposite walls of the room if even with the tip of them. I was not even sure what kind of faunus she was since I hadn’t seen things like that more than in some flying grimm in textbooks and artistic representations.

Even her tail could have been eclipsed by them for anyone other than me. After all, it’s not often that you find someone with a scaly appendage almost as big as yours. Although I had to admit hers looked a great deal more dangerous than mine... But then again, sometimes appearances were misguiding, or at least I could meditate on this as I saw her crying her eyes out in the middle of the dilapidated room.

-Hey, uhh... Are you alright?- I said fully knowing it was a stupid question as if she was crying then clearly she wasn’t okay. But it didn’t hurt to ask anyway. Maybe she wanted to get it out of her chest, express it, and all that shit.

On principle, I suspected her being one of the members of the elusive class blue. But then I realized I had actually seen her before in homeroom and some other shared classes for class Red. So she was a classmate of mine after all.

She mostly kept to herself, never talking with anyone, eating alone, not very participative in the class itself. I had read some of her conversations in the chatroom and she looked pretty much like an asshole... But seeing her now, bent down and crying... I was not about to say that made her cease being an asshat... But maybe something bad had happened to her?

-I was just passing by and you seemed kinda...- Nervously, I glanced across the devastation of the room while wondering what the fuck was I getting into now, and why was I so hellbent on keep doing shit like this for strangers. There was furniture moved and tumbled down almost at random, thrash of every shape and kind, and some other things I really didn't want to mention.

I was left to ask myself if this was this girl's doing... Or maybe someone else entirely... I managed to catch a glimpse of her hands, and see she was holding something, photography if I was daring to venture, but I decided not to press the issue about that, everyone had their own baggage to carry, if she wanted to tell someone about that, she would do it on her own.

-...Do you need any help? I think your name was... Dunno... “Lǜsè” or something? Whatever- I said with a small laugh, failing spectacularly at guessing her name. -If you need a hand cleaning this up, I don’t have anything better to do... My name is Bianca, by the by, cool to get to know you- I called, tending a hand to her.

And if she wasn’t in the mood for making acquaintances, well, no one could say I hadn’t tried. Less work for me to do, not as if I had that much free time at all.

Plus, no one with a tail like that could be so bad, right?

If the tears where tears of rage her semblance would have activated but it was sadness and sarrow fueling the tears rolling down her face. ":i know who you are bianca And yes i could use some help they really did a number on this room this time I don't understand why this is happening why her why her whole team." She said in between sobs as she broke down crying once again. "I know what they say about me you know that i'm a bitch a bully a monster of a person even a asswhole but thats not me not really." "Would a asswhole cry if they saw this no they would just walk on by." She says as she turns around come face to face with the other person in the room. "when i act like a bitch its my semblance talking not me kinda like a split personality a angrier one that could snap at any given second." "oh and the name's jade by the way." Her natural friendly big smile returning to her face as she stoke out her right hand while her left hand still held the picture. 

Her bright red eyes shining with unshed tears. "truth be told i could really use a friend right now i'm alone here without her." she said as she stared at the photo in her hands before putting it in her jacket pocket. As she picked up the broken  bed and begin to put it back together again. "every time this keeps happening it has to be a classmate or a staff member who doesn't like team BLADE." When i get my hands on the person who keeps doing thi i'll i'll will i dont know what i'll do but they won't like it one bit. just as she said that one of the more assholic members of class blue's head team  team BLACK walks by. "hay dragon bitch looks like someone really did a  number on your little girlfriend's weak little team little bittie bedroom oh will sucks to be you." She closed her eyes took a breath and slammed the door closed. And went back to cleaning and fixing the room. "hold on what's this now she says picking up a marble black rook chess piece."This matches the one i took form acorn."

She knew who I was apparently. Which was weird since I was pretty sure we had never spoken in person before. I was about to ask when she suddenly sprouts a couple phrases I could not understand very well and broke down crying again... Well, at least she had welcomed the help! That was positive! I think...

-Easy. Easy. This can be fixed- I reassuringly said, patting the faunus in the back while avoiding her wings the best I could. I had just met her so I didn’t want to overstep my boundaries as I had the unfortunate habit of doing.

-Well, assholes have feelings too I guess... At least if it happened to them or a close person- I answered her question, fully realizing after the fact that I was not being the least helpful.

It was interesting that she put being an asshole on a level of magnitude superior to being a monster or a bitch, but I simply took it as her being overwhelmed with emotion and not un full control of what she was saying

-Uhh, what do you mean it’s not you tough?- I asked, my curiosity suddenly picked, I listened to the woman’s explanation for her less than savory reputation...

“Huh... One of those, blaming a semblance for their lack of self-restraint” I thought coldly as I processed her words. And if she thought they would make me feel any bit of sympathy for her, she was direly wrong.

Raul, Jaqueline, and now Jade. She was not the first and probably would not be the last. Semblances were supposed to be a reflection of the soul, they could be beautiful pieces of art or merciless engines of destruction, but in the end, they were always a part of you... And if you could not control the most primal, violent parts of yourself, you were deserving of no pity in my opinion.

In a way, I preferred people who were unapologetically assholes before those who put their semblance as an excuse for their assholery. As I saw a certain strength in them that was lacking in the ones that hid behind their powers to have a “get out of jail free” card.

I shook her hand nonetheless. -Well, better get to work to fix that then, people are not going to give you an easier time just because you have a handy excuse- Still, I had to smile a little when she smiled so brightly and sincerely. -Besides that, I wouldn’t mind being your friend while you work on that-

As long as you are working on it, that went without saying.

-Team BLADE... I haven’t heard of them. But I only arrived at Haven a couple months ago... What happened to them?- I managed to say, glancing at the picture for a moment before we were promptly interrupted by an unexpected arrival...

It was fucking surreal, this dude just walked by (likely on purpose) spilled some of the most condescending insults I had ever heard and then just starts going away...

I didn’t know what kind of beef they had between them, but pretty much nothing warranted being such a prick and having the guile to just walk away like a coward.

-Hey! Bitchy boy!- I called, opening the door before the guy could go away completely. -You have a problem with a member of class Red? Fuckface?-

I never fucking liked class blue ever since the incident with Raynard, fuck his soul; so I wasn’t surprised there were other members equally or even more shitty than him.

Even putting that aside, I could fight and cuss as much as I wanted with the rest of class red, but you could bet I would not let an outsider start bullying one of my classmates.

For better or for worse, we had a reputation to uphold, If we let ourselves look weak, then we would be the laughing stock of Haven.

Most students who are willing to actively bother others were quick to rise to any challenge as they believed themselves to be the hottest shit since steaming potatoes.

-Inside? How do you know there is something inside? Do you hear a rattle or...?- I asked with incredulity when she mentioned what appeared to be a small chess piece in her hands, it probably had a significance to her, although I couldn’t tell for sure.

-And who is this Acorn guy anyway? I’m not very familiar with the members of class blue, to be honest- And the very few I knew had left an unsavory flavor on my mouth, and this guy Bicense wasn’t exactly redeeming them in my eyes.

-Huh... Well, that’s really petty... Nothing much to say about it. You know most people grow out of that “annoy the person you like” phase when they enter high school?- I declared, turning towards and addressing him directly.

But in response, he just sprouted some bullshit that really pissed me off. A phrase more along the lines of what an old drunkard in a bar or a potential predator would say, not a huntsman trainee whom in the future would be left in charge to take care of very frail people in very vulnerable situations.

I wanted to reprise with something along the lines of him really knowing what a man’s love felt like, but I desisted, no use falling to his level.

As he turned around to leave, I smirked devilishly. Especially when I witnessed how he tripped and fell flat on his face because of a small hole in the ground that mysteriously wasn’t there a couple seconds ago... Yeah, wonder who was responsible for that.

-You tripped- I said, stating the obvious if only to annoy him more. -And nice beard you have there, by the way, when did you grow it?- Yep, a really brown and murky looking beard and mustache combo had seemed to stay attached to his face from the moment it impacted the ground, and that wouldn't come off until he escaped the range of my dirt... Hey! I could be petty too! Only not in the same way he was!

In the end, all of this I was doing merely to taunt him, make him rise to my challenge. No matter what he believed himself to be, after spouting that shit there was no way he would simply ignore me and go away scot-free like that.

-You are lucky I’m not a snitch, or else I’d hand your ass straight to the headmaster’s office myself. Now are you going to stay there laying on the floor, or are you going to do something about it?-

I mean, who the fuck actually does that? Just go into someone else's face and call them out for the people they liked or disliked to lewd? I had expected anti faunus racism, but this was a new level of stupidity.

–She has all the right in the world to like girls, girls are awesome after all, I would know, I’m one of those- I returned his cocky smile with one of my own crossing my arms and half turning around towards Jade.

-Maybe you could put a camera or something in here? To catch the culprit, maybe with a movement sensor so you can get an alarm on your scroll whenever it happens? Hell, if you tell the staff I’m sure they will agree on that- I suggested as I idly got to pick up some fallen chairs and furniture, there was a lot of dirt in the room and I was just about to take it all out with my semblance when something interesting caught my attention.

-Say, Jade- I called out to her as I squatted close to a particularly shaped imprint of mud on the floor. -Doesn’t this look like a footprint to you?-

Maybe this would also help us to find the culprit, and I was really starting to get curious myself about who was behind all of this mess.

Jade pocketed the rook and walked over to biananca. " wait what is that?" A dragonic roar building in her chest as she looked at the foot print in the wood  that did it whatever semblance of control she had was gone her eyes turning into slints wings batting with green aura around them her semblance litarlrly coming off her like a dragon's fire breath. she stormed over to the boy on the ground and lifted him up into the air draging him into the room  "YOU DID THIS DIDN'T YOU? YOU ANNOYING PIECE OF SHIT LITTLE MAN I WILL SKIN YOU ALIVE FOR THIS THERE WILL BE NOTHING LEFT BUT A TAIL AND A LEFT ARM YOU WILL PAY AND PAY PAINFULLY DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR NOW YOUR GOING TO FIX THIS MESS THEN YOUR GOING TO TURN YOURSELF INTO THE HEADMASTER'S OFFICE AND I NEVER EVER WANT TO SEE YOUR  SIDEBURN WEARING MUG AGIN DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" what came out of her mouth where words of pure unbridled unending rage the smiling happy friendly if not a bit condescending jade was gone the feral angry beast like jade taking her place. her galunts glowed with a green engery the same green as her aura.

Well, now I knew what she meant with her semblance changing her personality. Talk about unstable behavior. She went from a crying girl blurting out how much she needed a friend to a big ball of fury in less than a second. Like if someone had flipped a switch in her brain to turn her from that to... This.

If the woman was clearly a dragon faunus before, now she looked more dragon than faunus. Slited eyes, fire engulfing her, and a mighty roar that put even Raul’s to shame.

And as much as I didn’t want to compare the two latest arrivals. I couldn’t help but do so, with the key difference being that while the werewolf’s impulses seemed more wild and animalistic, neutrally guiding himself by instinct more than malice. Jade, however, seemed consumed by intellectual emotion, more specifically, by an all-consuming rage. Certainly not the greatest of state of mind for a huntress in training.

-Bloody hell! Chill the fuck out, Jade!- I called out to her, moving close to discourage her from actually crushing the monkey faunus into a bloody pulp.

I wouldn’t have a problem with her beating him up a little if this were the streets and we weren’t huntresses... But sadly (Or fortunately, as Bicense surely could attest) we were in an institution with clear rules. And I could not let myself be seen disregarding them so blatantly or letting someone else do the same.

-You are gonna get into big trouble if you beat him up here. Don’t you know what happened the last time there was an unsanctioned fight?- This was not a stupid, inoffensive game like spiking the punch at the ball after Vytal or getting drunk in Kishka’s bedroom...

Last time something similar happened. One dude almost died and Kishka was really close to getting expelled.

-...Well, things became a shitstorm, that’s one way of putting it- I didn’t know if she had been notified already of everything that had transpired that night. But I didn’t consider it the proper time to calmly retell the story while the obnoxious boy still struggled to escape from her grip.

-So why don’t you put the asshole in the ground for a second, you can go get a teacher if you want then...- I suggested, gently, but firmly, putting a hand in her back to encourage her to desist. -As much as he may deserve it, this will do nothing to help your case- I reiterated, a little more forcefully now. Hoping by this point that she had already released the jackass.

I was left to wonder, however. If she had talked to the academy staff before regarding this particular problem. If she had and they had done nothing for lack of proof, then I could understand her getting this angry...If not, it was probably time to address it already... And speaking of address.

Jde said with a sener before spitting in the monkey  fanunus face. And stepped back shaking still trying to calm herself down. Jade sighed finally managing to deactivate her semblance. putting her aviators on hiding her eyes form the world once more. "your not worth getting expelled over your not even worth wasting a bullet on your a coward and a worthless waste of space." "Now get out of my face and if i ever see you in this dorm room again not even the brother gods will be able to save you form my wrath do i make myself clear?" He nodded and ran off wetting his pants in the process.

“I’m pretty much being ignored”. I thought with a deadpan expression in my face. Not only by Bicense (I was pretty much expecting that) But by the dragon woman herself. Now I had asked her two times about what exactly had happened and I remained in the dark.

I mean, cool. If you don’t wanna talk about it. But there are better ways to deliver the message.

Whatever. It is not as if I didn’t just barge my way into this situation. So it was understandable that I wouldn’t get everything from the start. So I pretty much stopped trying to make sense of the conversation midway through.

Luckily, Jade seemed to take my advice to heart, releasing the boy and earning an approving nod from my part. The huntsman still managed to spat one last insult before scrambling off.

-You shouldn’t judge people by who they chose to love, dude. You are acting just like a human yourself now, Bicense- I reprimanded the boy before he finally managed to rise up and run off the room.

What a sad prospect, that instead of learning from the mistake of humans, even faunus seemed condemned to make the same mistakes our forefathers committed time and time again.

With so many stories of people who would be exiled from their family just because they loved a faunus... Sadly, now we had faunus doing the exact same thing they criticized so many times before. This guy was not the first, and surely would not be the last.

I cast a sad look towards the yellow puddle of bodily waste pooling on the floor before turning towards Jade again.

-Alright, that one I’m not helping you clean, just making myself clear- It was baffling that a person like that could be sharing a school with the rest of us. I mean. We in class red were not exactly the most well adjusted of folks. But for sure we weren’t pussies like him.

I mean, I think. I still don’t know a lot of them very well. But this Bicense guy is someone I certainly wouldn’t want watching my back in a mission like for example the Kerch operation. Maybe he was strong when push comes to shove. But with an attitude like that... I had serious doubts about it.

I mean, pissing yourself? For real? What was he? Five? And I mean, yes. Jade looked physically fit and intimidating enough, but any huntsman worth their salt knows that appearances can be misleading. People like Berwyn or Willows looked awfully strong, especially when you were really close to them. But the students I knew I really didn’t want to piss off was probably Kishka or Argent.

And of course. Even a regular Beowulf looked a couple steeps more dangerous than any human or faunus could ever hope to appear. But any student is able to kill at least a couple of them with relative ease. Even this Bicense guy.

Unless this girl was stronger than your average first-year... That was also a possibility, one that I didn’t want to ignore for a future frame of reference... Anyway. Shrugging off, I continued helping her with cleaning the room. We were going great progress since we were going at it together.

Now that the boy was gone, I suddenly remembered the little clue Jade had found a second before Bicense intruded. It was a black rook piece if I remembered correctly. Probably our only link to whoever did this besides the footprint I was currently photographing with my scroll for a later inspection.

-You were onto something regarding a chess piece earlier right?- I called out to Jade as I kept cleaning... But something in her demeanor seemed a bit off. She appeared unsteady on her feet. A little shaky maybe? Or some low blood pressure? I wasn’t sure, so I left what I was doing to go a little closer to her.

-Are you ok? You look a little pale- I said with a fraction of concern in my voice. it wouldn’t look good on me to let one of the newbies pass out on me, so I watched very closely for any signal of the situation getting worse. Even encouraging her to sit down for a while if things took that turn for the worse.

-Hey... Cheer up, girl. Tell you what. Wanna do something after we are done cleaning up here? I got some free time to spend...- That was a lie, I had to study, but I figured out I could postpone that for later, she didn’t need to know that, of course. -Dunno... What do you like to do in your free time? I’m up for whatever to be honest, not afraid of trying new stuff and shit- I reassured her with the best smile I could muster.

At least up to this point, I had found no reason to be wary of this dragon, and if there was something I really hated to do, was to judge other people without knowing them, even if I was guilty of doing so more often than what I was comfortable with.

She said before managing  to shake off the effect for a time. "oh right the rook. She said taking it out of her pecket putting it on the desk in front of her and loading a bullet into her gatlunts  by spinning  the magazines till they land on fire dust and smashing her fists together   making the gloves change into the smg form. "stand back please oh and i would cover your ears and get low to the ground if i were you."  opening fire on the chess peice  shooting it  till its powder.  leaving beyond a un harmed  slip of paper with numbers on it.

Apparently Jade was just a little dazed and that was all. A product of her own semblance by her own account.

I wasn’t surprised, a lot of people treat their semblances as nothing more than a party trick they can use once in a while to gain an advantage. People truly invested in the further ramifications of their power are few and far in between.

-That’s nothing too serious. A lot of people have a problem controlling their semblances. When did you unlock yours by the way?-

I reminisced about how I got mine at age 12... It was not a happy experience, but you can be damn sure I was glad of having it by that point. Maybe Jade was a late bloomer? That wouldn’t be so rare, hell, some students like Aegle and Arturian didn’t even have a semblance at all.

-Maybe I can help you train yours? I’m pretty hard to hit, and we can stop if you overpower me anyway. But the key to master a semblance it’s pretty much to use it as much as you can, so getting a sparring partner could be a good idea-

Plus, I kinda wanted to see what she was capable of. Especially after seeing how wary Bicense was of her... Yeah, probably a good idea to check out class Red new firepower.

I was just thinking about that when she proceeded to unfold her weapon. At her command, I took a couple steps back and hide partially behind the door. I didn’t cover my ears tough. I figured aura would protect me anyway and I wanted to know how her weapon sounded, it may seem like something silly, but if we were ever dispatched together I sure as hell wanted to know if the shoots at the distance were Jade’s or the enemy.

The weapon itself seemed complicated enough. Apparently able to change between a gauntlet and machine gun in the span of a second. It seemed pretty neat. I was more of a fan of the classics, but that didn’t mean that I could not appreciate a fine piece of engineering.

-Those are pretty good, you made them yourself? I know some prep school students are taught how to make their own weapons and stuff- For better or for worse, I never had the need of learning such skills as my weapon was handed to me instead. I barely knew how to do the proper maintenance and fix minor problems in the piece, needing to take it to a weaponsmith for mayor reforms.

Huh... Wonder if I can convince her to make some changes on Nereida somewhere down the line... I feel like I have been avoiding that subject long enough.

Anyway. Those were meditations for another time. For now, the matter at hand was the mysterious paper the dragon woman had extracted from inside the chess piece in her own particular way.

Walking into the room again. I approached the aforementioned piece of parchment. Squatting low and grabbing it with the tip of my fingers.

-It looks like numbers... Hey Jade, does this sequence hold any meaning for ya?... Or maybe... Wait a sec- I spoke, handling the paper to Jade and taking out my scroll.

-We have a coordinates app in the app store. Most students don’t realize it but the academy has put all kinds of interesting stuff into these things- Opening the program, I typed the numbers and let the small processor do its magic.

-Well... It could be something, or it could be nothing at all. You probably wanna check this out sometime- I called out to her, showing the results of the automated search.

And i would very much like to take you up on your sparring offer also may i have a look at your spear it seems like it could use a overhaul maybe even a few upgrades i might even be able to make it transform. Before swallowing it whole. "i have to feed the dragon or the damn thing goes wild and you already saw What happens when it gets angry when what's belongs to it is threatened i breaks free my semblance is my dragon and when it wakes up it gets hungry." She said before tossing the blood filled bag in the wastebasket with ease." That was a lot of info to take in all at once. But somehow I think I managed to get it all into a neat and understandable picture.

-Sure. As long as it is something we can handle. I don’t mind lending you a hand, more so in the case of helping you find your girl- I said winking in her direction and with an assuring smile. After all, what kind of huntress would I be if I refused to help a person in need? My train of thought was sharply interrupted when I saw her produce a giant piece of meat from a zipper bag and consume it uncooked before my very eyes. I keep cleaning in silence. Disposing of the last traces of dirt and broken pieces of furniture and mementos scattered through the room.

We were almost done with the cleaning already. So I figured out a little break wouldn’t hurt. I moved towards her bed, asking for nonverbal confirmation before sitting gingerly on the edge of the mattress. Searching in my memory for possible topics of conversation to help Jade get her mind out of this stressful situation.
