A Faunus is in trouble and of course it is up to the humans to save the day! [break] [break]
History repeats itself![break] [break]
One of Haven's newest recruits had gotten themselves stuck while trying to exit a window. At least, that was what she said on her scroll! Holly had of course offered her assistance in freeing this damsel from this precarious position! It was her duty to help out those in need! Hunger, Grimm, and fellow student alike! Rose had offered to help out as well, and honestly Holly didn't knew if they needed two people to help...but it was honestly just great to see Rose again.[break] [break]
The student in need of rescue? Fable was her name. She was a fox. Well, she was Faunus, but her mommy was most likely a fox. Or her father. Or maybe the both of them. Some form of fox was involved in her creation! She was fun! Maybe a bit looney, but fun! She had nibbled on Holy, and only special awesome people try to eat you on the first date! All the more reason to offer aid! Holly had been opening doors to try and find the specific classroom Fable said she was stuck in. That was all she said on her scroll. Stuck in a window. The window was in a classroom. Honestly, it would most likely be quicker to just run around the school...but she had already tried to open doors so she wasn't going to quit now! Rose said she was doing the same, so they would honestly find her sooner than later![break] [break]
After about the seventh classroom she peered into, Holly saw a tail swissing about nearby at the window's side. Holly gave a stern nod to herself, before she closed the door again. She opened it again, shouting at the butt nearby. "Hey Fable! Just waiting on Rose! I don't want the solo credit for saving you, because else I would feel bad for her wanting to help! Just stay where you are!"[break] [break]
So...that was the situation. Fable was hanging out of the window of the biology classroom, dront side sticking out. Holly could have helped her, but seemed to refuse immediate assitance as she waited on a particular blond to help her. She kept the door open so that she could still talk with the Faunus, but that was about all she did to aid her. Holly just got her scroll, and contacted Rose by sending her the information to come to the biology classroom. After having done so, she peeked her head at the fox's backside to give a slightly chipper response. "So...how mad would you be if Rose and I took a photo with you in that position to imortalize the moment? On a scale of one to punch me?" [break] [break]

Initially it had been an absolutely fantastic idea. An academy, filled with people who had interesting semblances, which would allow Fable not only the enjoyment of exploring her own semblance, but also the enjoyment of exploring others semblances. Meeting a ton of new people, and, get this, be considered a good person for beating other people and monsters up, rather than being considered being a bad person for doing almost exactly the same. Though, upon arriving at the academy, the excitement had been far too much for the snow-themed fox, who had immediately upon arrival followed the most interesting scent that touched her nose. It had brought her inside the academy relatively quickly. Which is precisely where the problems started to arise.
Everything in here looked precisely the same. A big square box with different doors, leading to different classrooms, with different things inside. Everything was indicated by floors and numbers, nothing like what she was used to. On top of that, Fable really wasn't frequently visiting places that were this big. Most of the time, the girl was outside, regardless of the weather. It was, afterall, the only place that she could scavenge for food. Or rob the occasional passerby. Alas, this complete confusion had her pulling out her scroll. Yet another little gadget that certainly didn't belong to her, but she had seen the previous owner use it for finding adorable images from something called the.. .. ..net? Either case, that use had been enough for Fable to snatch it. Only to later learn, by the Asche Syndicate, that it could be used for several other things. Like communicating. Which is precisely what she had chosen to do, after things had started getting more desperately cumbersome. Though, up until then, communicating hadn't really assisted much. In fact, Fable was quite confident that a flower was being rude to her, and that some kind of chemical compound called Nasrin was too. At least, those kind of designations seemed more like objects than people, so thats what Fable categorized them as inside her little brain.
Still. Things had gotten worse. Deciding that she wanted to go outside, Fable had gone inside a room with a window that really wasn't meant to be opened much at all. This window, partially opened, had seemed large enough that she could press her butt through it. Which it probably had been, were it not for the white maiden's bushy fox tail. Which, upon squeezing hard into the window, had gotten so stuck that she couldn't pull neither forwards nor backwards... A predicament.
So the chemical compound had suggested trying to get clothes off to make more space to squeeze through. A suggestion that, to Fable, made excellent sense. Thus the shirt had been taken off and subsequently dropped by accident. Though if anyone were to ask, Fable had done so on purpose, of course. These developments were leaving her in a even worse predicament since the cool air was now touching her bare skin. If not for the bra in place, it would have probably been a spectacular sight from below too. Not that Fable had any qualms regarding decency to begin with... After that, she had tried to open the belt to her pants, which hadn't gone too well. The belt was unhooked, yet stuck in place around her waist. Due to the tail and the rather intricate construction of her pants to allow room for said tail, she was unable to get them off. Therefore looking like something out of those Help-me-step-brother video things that she had occasionally laughed at...
"...Help?... Nono, Fable just needs.. a gentle nudge. Fable thinks... Maybe... and why take a picture??"

The day was winding down for her. The girl had a sandwich in hand, a nice glass of iced tea, and headphones on to jam out to some banger tunes to chill with. She stretched her arms out wide and flopped onto her bed, breathing out a long sigh of content as she hit play and munched on her food. But her mild boredom led to checking the Haven chat, which was something that the blonde hadn't done in some time...and boy did she regret it this time. As usual, it was Holly being a ditz and Nasrin being her typical self. After some back and forth banter someone named Kurama came on the chat acting batshit crazy.
"Jeez, what a psycho. Someone has a sugar problem..." She muttered to herself.
This girl was already getting on Rose's last nerve with the way she talked and how annoying her vernacular of choice was. Was she really this dense or was she playing a bit to piss Rose off? There was also something about Faunus that rubbed her the wrong way, so that didn't help with how many fucks she gave about the situation that Kurama got herself in.
However, Holly was more than willing to help out this lost cause and she asked Rose to help. Though the blonde was pretty sure it was out of pity for both the fox and the flower, she sighed and leaped out of bed. As she walked out of the room, Rose was preoccupied with defending her way of dressing on the chatroom while half assing her search for the distressed student.
Her scroll buzzed with a text from Holly that she had found the said girl and made her way to the biology room which was only another hallway down. She had already garnered a reputation as a bully and honestly her number of friends at school couldn't even be counted fully on one hand, so maybe she could try being nicer? It was a long shot, but what the hell...why not? Besides, she started her friendship with Holly by beating her so hard that she puked her guts out. Then again was Holly even enemies with anyone?
Lightning sparked up around her body, licking the edges of her scarlet jacket to accent it brightly. It was wholly unnecessary, but Rose wanted this over and done with. After all, despite Holly's need to include others to avoid making them feel bad...she was correct about one thing: She was very physically weak. If the Faunus got stuck, then Pinkie Pie wouldn't be able to do much with those noodle arms of hers.
A flash of lightning streaked through the halls and within a couple of seconds Rose spotted Holly halfway peaking into a door. The blonde braked harshly right behind the earthy girl and tapped her on the shoulder.
"Sup. What's that about you feeling bad?" She let out a sigh of exasperation and violently kicked the door in, nearly knocking it off of the hinges. She chose to ignore the comment about the picture because...honestly Rose was a bit terrified of Holly's weird ass kinks.
So it was a Fox, huh? Why was she not surprised that the typically curious animal would be associated with someone so...loud and curious. Rose approached the girl, electricity still faintly cackling around at her body. Her shirt was really off! Rose wanted to face palm so hard that the fox really took Nasrin's dumbass advice...and worse yet was that her pants were partly off! When she neared Kurama, the blonde leaned down suggestively and put her elbows on her unbuckled backside with her chin resting in her open hands lazily.
"Quite the predicament ya got going on here, Foxie Fox. What can two degenerates like us do to help you today? I mean...you've assumed the position and are just ripe for the picking. What'cha say, Holly? Should we help our friend here or have some fun first?"
Oh wow, she had way less clothing than Holly thought she would be wearing! The girl was uncertain if it was just some animal instinct that she thought that undressing would offer her an escape, or that it was simply something she had done because Nasrin asked her. She can be quite scary, but she is also resourceful enough in that Holly would trust her if she was in a pinch. Nasrin had that delinquent cunning only someone on the streets could truly possess! [break] [break]
Still, back to the fox at hand! Holly answered the question while she peeked inside, keeping the door nearly closed to make sure nobody would see the fox in trouble. A teacher might make a fuss about it all! "You wouldn't believe what kind of traffic you can get online with pictures! The spot you are in, I can get you at least a dozen Tattletell followers! A dozen!"[break] [break]
Not that the social media platform was doing all that hot. She lost a lot of viewership now that almost everyone is jumping ship. It is getting replaced by something called Mystral. Like in, My Mistral, but shortened. They got some weird policy though. They have something in their policy that they don't want any pics that show that you are a Faunus. Something about spurring up hate in the comments, and because they want a platform free of hate and divisiveness. Something about advertisements. Holly didn't really understand it, but that meant that the Faunus could have Tattletell all for themselves, right? Nothing wrong with that. Maybe it wasn't the same...but there was little wrong with separate but equal, right?[break] [break]
Holly saw the flash in the corner of her eyes before she saw the lady approach herself. Holly honestly froze. While she had gotten way more comfortable with the blond over the past few months, her doing her crackle while approaching menacingly was enough for Holly to get one or two uncomfortable flashbacks. She just gave a kinda scared nod when Rose acknowledged Holly with a touch. [break] [break]
It took Rose kicking in a door to actually make Holly respond in earnest. She flinched back, despite aura protecting her. It was a reflex. A Rose Reflex. If someone made you puke by sword to the gut and spinning you around, you kinda get those. "Doors don't grow on trees, Rose! I would know! I would have a door tree otherwise!"[break] [break]
Holly entered the room after Rose, and it honestly would give any onlooker a 'big and little sister'-vibe. Rose stood front and centre, and Holly would be plain behind her, poking out her head from the side to look at the Fox. There was no sane reason that Holly was hiding behind Rose, as there clearly was enough room. The feisty blond honestly scared Holly, but she was less scary from the back when she couldn't look at Holly and she didn't have to see her face. Still being creepily behind Rose, she answers by sticking out her head to look at the fox. "I like fun!" Holly took out her scroll, snapping a picture of Fable from behind with a visible flash before her scroll disappeared out of sight again. "Though I am not sure what kind of fun we can have with her being stuck like that... Should we...uhm...wait... one thing first!"[break] [break]
The pinkette walked over towards the window next to Fable. She opened it, and with some slight effort managed to get out of it. Her slim frame and tail-less behinds fitted easily through the window. She walked over towards the window that had half a fox sticking out of it, looking at Rose through the glass for a moment and giving her a thumb's up. She picked up Fable's shirt from the grass and looked at it for a moment. And then she put it on over her dress. Holly went to stand beside the fox, taking a selfy off the two of them. Not only that, but she put her free hand behind her own head and held up two fingers as if she had ears. She began to type a post, dictating it out loud. "Hanging with my fox-friend. Examinational point. Getting into all kinds of trouble. Winky face. @the-Hockster, @girlythings ...hmm...@pray4kerch." And with that Holly put her scroll away, looking at Fable as if she had done her a favor. "A dozen followers! You may have your shirt back, but it looked so nice! You may wear my clothes next! Only fair!"

The more time passed, the more Fable felt that blowing this entire window up would be a good idea. Unfortunately for the snow fox female, there wasn't currently a way for her to gain any kind of semblance. Hands resting on the window sill, the fox pressed with most of her might, right until she felt the window begin to give way. Destroying the window was a no no. That much the girl had figured out already. It wasn't much different from the syndicate, where destroying things was also not acceptable. There had also been certain rules about in-fighting, so the fox wasn't entirely without manners. So, when Holly was walking around the fox, talking, doing her spiel, Fable was getting increasingly frustrated at being stuck. Being stuck was not fun. Being stuck was not interesting. The fox hadn't quite figured out that this was a mockery of her existance. The scroll, the net, all of it was a little beyond her understanding. So despite Holly doing things that might have set off a regular person, for now, Fable was simply frustrated. Which showed by her bushy tail swishing side to side impatiently, and her large fox ears being bent backwards along her head in displeasure. "Cmon, get Fable out! Fable not like this.." The fox pleaded, to no much avail. The blood red eyes followed Holly as the pinkette climbed out the window and picked up the fox's shirt.
The expectations from Fable were that Holly was going to give the shirt back to her. That which seemed to tip the scales to Fable getting angry however, was when Holly decided to steal her shirt. Right in front of her eyes. Preying on Fable because the fox was stuck. Eyes narrowing, her fur literally frazzled, Fable's change in demeanor was instant. The voice which emanated from the fox was cold, heartless. The window's hinges snapped, causing it to fall backwards into the room towards Rose. Hand onto her sword, Yukihime, the Fox was standing in a stance, as if ready to slice Holly into pieces. This was breaching the rules and understandings Fable had of friendship and comraderie. Even for the Asche syndicate, this was something that had never happened before. A thief, right in front of her eyes. How stupid must Holly have thought Fable was? How incompetent and incapable? Every word carried meaning, to the point where there could be no doubt that Fable meant what she was saying. The red eyes were staring at Holly as prey. "..Holly has a second to give back the shirt, or Fable will fucking kill her as the thief she is." Surrounding Fable at this point, visible, was a light blue shimmering aura. So calm, controlled, yet all directed straight at Holly. A fury that told one thing clearly, at least to the Vacuoan bandit.
Rose breathed out a heavy sigh, feeling the swish of the fox tail against her body as she leaned on Fable. The girl was whining and complaining so much that it was honestly more sad than anything...and Rose was getting tired. Maybe it was just time to let the Faunus go and yell at her another time? Yeah, that would be for the best.
She had just started to reach over Fable to grasp the window when she heard a camera click...oh HELL no! There was no fucking way that her reputation would be tarnished in such a compromising position with a...fox of all things. She grit her teeth and was ready to whirl on Holly when the Garden Girl slipped through the window.
"Just what in the hell do you think yer doin' there, Pinkie!? Get your tiny ass back in here before I punt you across campus!" She shouted in unbridled fury.
The blonde had her reasons. The Fox herself was an issue that she didn't want to touch on, but...she was more afraid of what Rin would say. The dread caused her heart to beat a mile a minute and she was wide eyed with genuine fear at the thought of Rin giving a look of sorrow. Or would it be worse? Rose didn't know and she didn't want to find out! This joke had gone on long enough and she was starting to feel genuinely sorry that she was behaving like a despicable human being...Fuck and I actually think that Faunus are the problem? I really am a monster.
Rose peered out of the window to see Holly waving innocently and then bend down to recover the fox's shirt. Instead of hand it back, she put it on and took a picture of the compromised girl in nothing but a bra. While yes it was true that Rose was a bully...she had cause for what she did. She sought character in those around her and that usually started with their resolve. With their ideals and refusal not to back down...just like how Erik refused to back down until the very end...but this was rude mockery. Plain and simple. It royally pissed her off and she clenched her fist tightly in unbridled fury as the fox pleaded pathetically. Feeling weak and helpless was something that the blonde had faced only once in her life...and never again. It was the basis for her lust of strength and right now she was seeing it again. Seeing...him. The fox that had captured her. Had...
The memory didn't have a chance to cause the girl any pain however, because just then Fable seemed to completely switch her personality. The entire frame of the window flung off of it's hinges and hurled straight at her! Fortunately Rose raised her arm defensively and ricocheted the debris off at a 90 degree angle, sending it crashing into the white board into splintered wreckage. Her aura flashed from the assault and was the only thing keeping wood splinters from stabbing her eyes out.
When she had regained her composure, Rose shook her head and glanced at the fox who stood with a look that the Bandit Queen knew all too well. A look she stared at in the mirror when she remembered all of those innocents she slaughtered. The sword clutched firmly in hand, the razor sharp tone in her voice...it was definitely the look of a killer. And at that moment Rose feared for Holly's life.
This wasn't supposed to be like this, but Rose recognized when a situation was getting out of hand. Rose kept a straight neutral face as she stepped forward, standing next to the fox and looking back at her.
With a genuine warm smile, Rose eased her hand on the girl's shoulder in an attempt to calm her down. "You already know Holly. I'm Rosalia...but most call me Rose. What's your name?"
Her hand gave a final gentle squeeze to reassure the fox girl that everything would be okay. "Put the sword away and I promise you will get your shirt back. Take it and promise that you won't hurt my friend...and then maybe we can all start over as friends?"
She turned her attention to the other girl before her and bared her teeth as she dug deep into the well of fury within her barbarian breast, letting the lightning build up and swirl around her in a terrifying cacophony. Her feet propelled her small frame forward, fast enough to slip past Fable and make a mad dash straight at Holly. Rose's fist pulled back in mid flight and she attempted to slam it home, like a spear, directly into her friend's gut in the hopes that it would knock her out.
"Roll with the punch, Holly." She said in a quiet tone laced with pity, anger, and sorrow. "There is no fucking way that I am letting either of you suffer."
Holly wasn't that bothered with Rose threatening her with physical violence. She just doesn't know how to properly channel her emotions into something productive to improve her personal relationships. She is honestly quite sweet and kind! They have chatted in the past! She most likely only acted like this to keep up a tough face in front of the third wheel! There is no way she would do this if it was just us! While we weren't the closest of friends, Rose wouldn't just hurt me like that! We shopped together, we had a dance thing together, we talked about the boys we love! Or well, for her it is a girl, but Holly supported her nonetheless! [break] [break]
Holly hadn't expected for the life of her how the fox would react. The Faunus had undone her own shirt on a whim! Holly thought she was either unabashed about being exposed or just not that fond of that particular shirt! The shirt looked too large on Holly, she had meant it as a joke. Who would actually bully someone by trying on their clothing? She had taken a picture to boost Fable's exposure on the web! There are friends there, and it is honestly an endless source of entertainment if you are into it! Fable wanted fun, so Holly tried to give her that.[break] [break]
Then she broke a window and drew a weapon on Holly.[break] [break]
The pinkette opened her mouth slightly in disbelieve. Her mouth kept standing agape. Holly wasn't scared. She hasn't been scared for her own life after Rochdale, and held someone dying in her hands. When she saw more bodies mutilated in the streets than she wanted to see in her life. This fox could not bring more pain than that day. No eyes, however frightful, compares to the despair of being powerless to prevent such a tragedy. [break] [break]
It did make Holly take this whole scenario very serious though. Her smile disappeared from her face. This fox most likely cared for this shirt. Maybe it was from her dead lover, or sister, or maybe both. Faunus are looser in those kinds of things, the stories say. Holly gave Fable a clear nod with her head, and she moved her hand down to remove the shirt. "All right, stay calm now." [break] [break]
Holly took a precaution though, her foot was on grass. She could feel the thousands of tiny happy friends moving slightly in the breeze. Living their best plant life. She allowed herself to connect with those blades of green, which coloured in a soft magenta hue. She wasn't planning on using her new collection of chloroplast-rich friends for anything but a last resort of defence. Again, Holly believed that this was just a big misunderstanding.[break] [break]
Rose seemed to be on the same line! She approached Fable with an unusual friendliness! Asking about names and being all chummy! She needed to drive her sword into my gut before we were on any of those kinds of terms! That is progress Rose! I am proud of you! Using words instead of violence! Still, the idea of Rose getting the shirt back and Fable not hurting Holly felt like a weird phrasing. What was she-[break] [break]
The fuck...[break] [break]
Holly's eyes turned large for a moment before Rose started to crackle, and when she would pop. In her mind, she had expected Rose to attack Fable. Lure the obvious violent one of them into a false sense of security, and then take her down. Holly was not the violent one here. While it was not the most diplomatic solution to a problem, it was at least something that came close to how a huntress should act.[break] [break]
Then when Rose did actually charge at Holly, did the metaphorical table flip. And was doused in alcohol. And set on fire. And had a little table child that was broken before of momma-table's eyes.[break] [break]
Rose could possibly see the shock and obvious hurt on Holly's eyes as Rose lept forward. All before Holly's face would be replaced with the color green. The connection that had already began to influence the grass, was now fully activated to provide the optimal defense devised by mankind. [break] [break]
A wall.[break] [break]
To keep the angry Faunus and Vacuoan out.[break] [break]
Holly had acted on a reflex, but her reflex was honestly more powerful than she had wanted. In the split second she had to act, she rose up a wall of grass that covered the entire window side. Not just a single window, but the whole side of the building that had light shining inside, covering it in a shaded green hue and magenta. On her end, the grass would rise gradually till about 2.5 meters high.[break] [break]
When Rose's fist would connect with the great plan barrier, it would not budge. The magenta hue intensified for a moment, before it fizzled out again. It was like a bronze hammer trying to dent a steel slab. Well, a few of the grass blades were dented. [break] [break]
It was silent for about a second after Rose whispered her words behind the wall.[break] [break]
"THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING!"[break] [break]
It was an uncharacteristically loud and uncouth response of the mostly more pleasant minded plant-girl. Holly was shielded from the two inside, so they only had her voice as a reaction. Even despite not having a visual indicator, the tremble in Holly's voice was overwhelming. [break] [break]
"WHY DO YOU ATTACK YOUR FRIEND? WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM! I WAS TAKING IT OFF! I TRUSTED YOU!"[break] [break]
Behind the curtains of green, Holly was crying as her emotions overtook her. She hadn't expected this. She had complete faith in Rose having her back when she had said she would join Holly in freeing this fox. She knew that Rose was violent. Holly had felt that violence herself first hand. [break] [break]
But...she had also seen a beautiful person.[break] [break]
Someone who was kind. Someone who wanted to be better. Who could be funny. And caring. And protective. And...[break] [break]
...a friend...[break] [break]
Who had just lunged at Holly like none of that earlier bonding was true. Like she just could punch Holly out like she was just a problem. A thing. A stranger. Dirt.[break] [break]
So, Holly was crying. She was emotional. She was hurt. More hurt by this than she had been in a long time. The grass wall that previously was just outside of the room started to slowly bend inward, with the foremost blades pointing inward. Not quick enough to hurt anyone unless they kept standing straight in front of the wall. It formed like a formation of green spearman with their weapons pointed at an enemy. For all intents and purposes, they could have been metal spears without it making a difference. Standing at the ready. To defend, to strike, to act. [break] [break]

It was a wonderful day outside, the weather was as good as it could be on the top of a mountain, and there wasn’t a cloud in sight. There was a slight damper put on things when Lynn went to catch up on the Haven message boards and saw that apparently a student had gotten herself stuck in a window on campus, and also taken her shirt off because… Well kids will be kids. Some other students had volunteered to help the newcomer, and Lynn was very glad to see them take initiative and help out their fellow classmates. Still, it was her job as a teacher to ensure that her students were safe so she decided that she would watch from a distance as Holly and Rose did most of the work, just in case something somehow went wrong. Which of course nothing would, right? It was a simple matter of getting a girl out of a window. [break][break]
Oh how wrong she was. [break][break]
Lynn arrived on the scene a bit delayed, to find Holly had grown a massive wall of grass that fully covered the side of the building, as presumably the window that the girl had been stuck inside. To make matters worse it seemed Holly was… Wearing the girls shirt over her dress. Which meant the newest student was still shirtless, and now prevented from leaving by a wall of grass. [break][break]
With a gentle sigh, Lynn made her way towards Holly just in time to hear the stream of shouting and cursing and then crying come from the little pink girl. Something was happening to the grass but Lynn couldn’t quite tell what, though regardless of that she had to put a stop to whatever had happened here. [break] ”Holly dear, what’s wrong?” Lynn approached closer, accompanied by the gentle sound of her metal rainstick that she often carried with her. When she got beside Holly, she gave her a soft, genuine smile and gestured her rainstick towards the wall of grass. ”We can’t be doing this to school property, I’ve heard your semblance is quite powerful and I don’t want the wall being damaged and you being punished as a result, okay? Can you make it go away?” [break][break]
Regardless of whether the wall was removed, Lynn stepped forward and adjusted her sunhat to keep her face shaded as she tried to get a glimpse of whoever was on the other side of the wall. ”Is anyone back there? This is Lynn, the red class homeroom teacher. I wanted to congratulate the two of you on assisting your classmate but it seems things have gotten out of hand, and I would like to fix that. So if you could wait there until Holly lowers this wall, we could all have a conversation, alright?” [break] And then she waited, hoping that the students would cooperate without too much prodding. She could imagine what Shadecloak would do if she had found this, and Lynn wanted to prevent anything quite so intense from being necessary.

Before The Thunder❞

In any other attack Rose would have her mind clear. There was only her and the enemy with the only though in her mind being the complete annihilation of the target. Her eyes were the same as Fable's...a killer. And not just the men, but the women and the children too. Her body was stained with so much red that it was gushing. If they fall broken like some toy, then she would leave them to suffer in despair but if they resist...then they die. That was the way of the Bandit Queen. The old Rosalia.
Yet as she dashed at Holly, there was something that she didn't feel before. Rosalia Phoenix hesitated. Why? Why won't my body work? Why can't I...
The blonde looked into Holly's eyes and saw the pain and despair. In that split moment, Rose's eyes widened and time slowed down. What was this? She didn't care about what others thought of her! She took what she wanted and crushed any protest beneath her boot! So...why did this tiny, silly girl make Rose's heart break as the wall of grass formed to separate them?
Her fist slammed into the wall and her aura of red flashed across her arm in a glitchy mess! Barely a ding was left in the grass barrier and it gave Rose pause for a moment before an odd chuckle came from her lips.
"Holly...since when did you get so wrong?" She whispered.
From the other side, she could hear Holly crying and it wasn't a normal jokester kind of pouty cry. No, it was the kind that was truly heart rending and the blonde felt it pierce her body harder than any sword ever could. Holly...trust. No...no you don't understand. I didn't-I...I didn't b-break anything! I-I-I...
She wanted to explain. To speak out and tell Holly that it was for her protection and that it was all to make sure that Fable wouldn't hurt her or worse. But her throat seized up as her mouth opened...her vision blurred as it filled with tears. Tears that cascaded down her smooth red cheeks to hang precariously on her chin before dripping carelessly onto the ruined floor of the classroom.
She felt hollow inside and no matter what she did, Rose couldn't move. She stood completely still aside from the shudders of sadness that wracked her body. As the grass spears formed from the wall, the girl subconsciously dropped her aura...and let the sharp objects dig into her chest and slice across her cheek. Blood mixed with tears, dripping together down her face in a mess before something interrupted her thoughts. A serene voice that called out to the classroom from the other side of the wall and in that moment Rose woke up.
As the grass returned to a more harmless state, Rose gasped as it freed her chest from the harsh penetration. There was still the fox girl present and now a teacher was here, so Rose wasn't needed anymore. The fox was safe and Holly was safe...everyone wins. She slid her foot around and pivoted her body around to face the girl with a wide smile on her face, sniffling pathetically as she reached her hand up slowly in an open gesture.
"Hey, the teacher is here. She'll get your shirt back for you, okay hun? Make sure that Holly deletes that picture of you too, yeah? You don't deserve that shit."
A slight hiccup interrupted her speech and it took her a moment to close her eyes, breath in deep, and finally collect her composure as she addressed the wall in her usual gruff and brash manner.
"Yeah give us a damn minute! We're comin' out and y'all be damn sure that we ain't payin' for this mess!"
The Class Red teacher...what a joke. Rose would have preferred the straight up nature of her own teacher Shadecloak to this pandering and patronizing approach, but then again Rose had fucked things up...so she just kept her hand held out to Fable, waiting to see if the girl would accept her show of...what was it? Kindness? Fucked if Rose knew what even she was feeling at the moment.
Fable, upon seeing the dismissive and submissive behavior from Holly, plus the pinkette beginning to take the shirt off, claiming to have intent to give it back, was enough that the bloodlust surrounding the arctic fox dissipated quietly. Granted, when called out for thievery, there were only two correct replies in Fable's experience. Either, you decided to accept being caught and legging it. Outrunning, outsmarting and outmanuvering whoever was going to chase you down. This choice was typically chosen at either of the two extremes. When you had stolen something of fairly low value, there was always a good chance that the pursuers wouldn't put in the same effort as if you had taken something valuable. It would not be worth the trouble. At the higher end, however, there was more likelihood of having something valuable if you did manage to get away. A shirt definitely fell into the former non-valuable category. The other approach when caught thieveing, was to play it off as a misunderstanding. Which worked better with less valuable items in general. It was just a prank, bro. Was a particularly used wording to get away with things, Fable had noticed. This was the approach Holly the thief had chosen. To claim it was a misunderstanding. Fable, being a thief of some renown, knew that it was what this was. A way to get out of trouble without admitting wrongdoing. Not that the arctic fox truly cared. Holly had already been placed into a box where people she didn't like belonged, and the white maned fox wouldn't shed a tear of someone or something snapped her neck in her sleep...
Alas, the shirt was being secured, so there was no need for further aggression. The sword was in it's sheathe still and Fable had ceased her aggressive posturing. Right until a flash of lightning dashed past her, straight towards Holly. Smashing straight into a wall of some plant origin type. Blinking once, the arctic fox was attempting to process what had just happened. The blonde female was moving at speeds much beyond what Fable could. The power behind the slam was far beyond what Fable could muster too. Yet, in that brief time, the pinkette on the other side had managed to put up this sort of grass barrier... Fable's tail had, unbeknownst to her, begun shifting from side to side. How. Very. Interesting. Eyes wide in amazement, lips parting in a smile, the current situation had completely changed. This was fun. This was entirely new. This was interesting. Even if Holly was a thief, this was so, so... cool that Fable, in the snap of a finger, forgot everything about being angry and upset.
"How did you do that?! How did you do that?! What is that even?! WOW!" Pressing her way through the grass, a half dressed fox girl stepped out to the teacher, but was not interested in them in the slightest. Approaching Holly... "Was that you? I mean.. that."Fable was pointing energetically to the grass barrier, trying to formulate words, yet coming up short. Excitement and questions made it way too hard for the girl to manage proper thoughts.
Fable then immediately, without waiting for answers, turned towards Rose. "...And you!... How did you... and so hard, like WAPOW!!.. All to punish the bad girl for stealing my shirt! Like.. like some kind of super police!! So cooooool!" Fable's ears were twitching, pointing at whoever she was speaking to. Language was incredibly fast, and her whole expression was lit up with excitement. The bushy white tail was swishing from side to side rapidly, as she got up close and sniffed Holly... Seeming to ponder for a moment, before darting over to sniff Rose... blinking once or twice in confusion... before going over to sniff the teacher.
There were only a few seconds in between Holly have raised her wall, and when Lynn approached. It was enough time, however, for Holly to mentally flip the fuck out about what she had just done. While she was in no means in control of her anger and emotion, she was just lucid enough to be witness to what she had just done in a moment of panic. Her connection with the grass she controlled made her aware of the shape the grassy barrier had taken. [break] [break]
She had not just made an obstacle to defend herself. In a moment of panic, pain, and emotions, she had shaped razor-sharp edges on it. Aimed not at Grimm, but at her friend. Rose. Who had attacked her? And Fable. Who expressed the wish to attack her over a stupid shirt! She had done that, without even thinking about it.[break] [break]
That was honestly what frightened her the most about this.[break] [break]
The plant girl regarded her own emotions as a proper and true extension of herself, along with her semblance. They were as much as a part of herself as most people could look at their hand and say that it was theirs. Some people said that they 'weren't themselves' when they were angry, or upset. For the botanist, this couldn't be any more from the truth. How she acted in a moment of fear or rage, was even more so a true reflection of herself than if she tried to suppress those feelings. [break] [break]
And in this moment of betrayal, she had attempted to physically hurt others.[break] [break]
What was wrong with her?[break] [break]
"I wanted to hurt my classmates..." Holly called out flatly, not even seeming to have fully registered that the voice was not her own within her head. She turned her head slowly towards Lynn Morgan. The features on her face seemed to be wrought in a mixture of fear, disgust. [break] [break]
When asked if she could make the wall go away, and that she was maybe in trouble... Holly released her control over the grass, which became harmless plant-matter. When Lynn had her back turned towards the pint-sized plant enthusiast, her mind was thinking about the worst potential outcome. She entertained a morbid thought.[break] [break]
What if they were both dead? [break] [break]
What if in a moment of them not expecting this outburst, they hadn't protected themselves? [break] [break]
Cut into slices, or filled with bloody holes? [break] [break]
She hadn't heard anything from the other side...no calls to take down the wall, or further attacks against it. Also no screams, but what if their necks were cut? Bleeding out... She did that! Within seconds and without even thinking! She had called them. Lynn would find out if the wall was lowered. She would find two students stained crimson red. On the floor, hugging each other as they bled out! Dead![break] [break]
...Could Holly take out the teacher? [break] [break]
Contain her and then make a run for it?[break] [break]
Just leave.[break] [break]
Escape.[break] [break]
Flee.[break] [break]
Escape Haven? [break] [break]
...[break] [break]
Wait...[break] [break]
Was that?[break] [break]
She could hear a voice speaking from behind the green veil. And soon after that she could hear Rose's voice shouting more clearly that they were coming out. They. She even...made a joke about it? So...they weren't hurt.[break] [break]
Of course not Holly, you stupid bitch.[break] [break]
Miss Hock went to sit on the ground, with her knees up in the air and her hands clasped around them. Controlling the grass around her, she formed a little green cocoon of not wanting to deal with the world that enveloped her. She braided the strands together as well as she could, making it have some structural integrity not to collapse in on itself. The end result was an aesthetically pleasing globe of braided grass. Because the action was still somewhat rushed, there was a single tuft of her pink hair that stuck out the top that she weaved into the cocoon. Like a pink flower on a cactus.[break] [break]
She could hear someone approach, and hear someone talk to her little shame casing. Fable could hear Holly mutter for a moment, before she gave the Faunus a clear enough answer. "Yes. I am happy you are fine."[break] [break]
Holly wasn't even aware anymore that she was still wearing Fable's shirt. [break] [break]

Lynn looked over the three students as they gathered past the grass wall Holly had made. The new student was still shirtless, so that was the first issue to remedy. [break] ”Holly, please give the shirt back to your fellow student, dear. It is truly inappropriate for you to have taken it in the first place and put it on - please, all of you, save that kind of thing for the privacy of the dorms, alright?” Lynn would go to remove the shirt from Holly if she was allowed and pass it over to Fable. If not, then she simply encouraged the plant-girl to hand it over to its rightful owner. [break][break]
Next was the issue of Rose being somewhat injured, by the looks of it. And she hadn’t even activated her aura for the injury which was concerning. Holly had wanted to hurt her, but apart from the shouting earlier it really wasn’t clear what possibly could have prompted such a thing. Especially from Holly, who was normally such a nice girl. [break] ”Rose, dear, are you okay? Why didn’t you use aura to protect yourself? And Holly! What possible reason could you have for trying to hurt your friends like this? You both came to help this new student -” She looked at Fable with a genuine, caring smile. ”Your name is Fable right? If I remember from the chatroom? I am Lynn Morgan, home room teacher for Class Red. If you would like any help after this is resolved in learning the way around the school or what you are meant to do here, I would be happy to give a tour and answer any questions you have. This is clearly a new experience for you, but if you’ve been accepted to the academy I’m sure you’re going to excel in no time!” [break][break]
That done, she turned back to Holly and Rose. ”You both came to help her get out of a window and somehow you ended up stealing her shirt and getting into a fight? Explain yourselves this instant. This is no way to introduce a new student to our school, and certainly something I wouldn’t expect to see from either of you, you should be ashamed of yourselves.” Lynn never really had a ‘mean’ voice. She just sounded genuinely disappointed in the students and what they had done, but with her soft voice it came across as a mom scolding her children that she secretly cared for far too much to really punish. At least not yet. [break][break]
”If we can resolve this here then I can avoid getting Shadecloak or the principle involved, which I think would be best for both of you, right? Fighting like this on school grounds without sanctions and resulting in injury is easily enough for expulsion if the wrong teacher was here, thankfully I’m the right teacher. So help me fix this and we can all move on, mm? Of course if you’d like to talk in private afterwards, my room is always open for counseling.”

It didn't surprise her in the least to see the fox dash excitedly through the grass wall. Rose could hear her shouting and cheering like a child...yet it made her smile slightly to herself. The girl took a moment to wipe the tears from her face before also walking out into the open air with a resting bitch face. The first thing that caught her attention was the cocoon thing on the ground that must have been Holly.
While Fable bounced around, Rose walked past the teacher to crouch next to the ball of grass and reached out to tug on the tuft of pink hair.
"Teach wants to talk to us. Come on out, Holly."
The blonde took a step back and was immediately confronted by Fable who was sniffing her. For a moment, she felt her heart skip from how close the fox got to her but Rose ignored it as typical Faunus curiosity. Luckily for her Rose had no issues with personal space and would have even done something a bit more forceful if the teacher wasn't present.
"Uh...thanks? Was nothing, really. I just punch shit. But if you're looking for a fight sometime, then I'm game furball."
But there was a teacher. Miss Morgan wasn't someone she really knew, since the woman was the red teacher but her overall demeanor was enough for Rose to figure out. Hugs and rainbows type, but she wasn't doing anything out of character for a responsible adult so Rose gave her some slack. When she addressed Rose's aura, the blonde raised a brow and remembered the small bleeding hole in her chest as she wiped furiously at the blood on her cheek.
"Yeah s'all good...it's just a scratch. I can be a fucking moron sometimes, so it's like whatevs."
She pointed her thumb at Fable sniffing and flicking her tail all over the place like she was high on sugar. It almost made her snicker at how bizarre she was, but Rose kept a straight annoyed look.
"I dunno, teach. It seems like a perfect way to introduce someone to a messed up place like this and fox is real happy, yeah? So no harm and no foul."
Eyeing the grass ball for a second, Rose felt a tinge of regret at how hard Holly was taking this. Shit, if only you would have just went down Pinkie. But you had to make a spectacle of this...god damn drama queen.
"It's like this. Holly took soft core pics of the new girl and I think she's too dense to realize what was going on, so I tried to get them taken down before they got uploaded. Shit like that can ruin one's reputation and I don't want fox here being called a thot on campus. So I hit Holly...er I mean I tried. That's it. Just stupid kids being stupid, but do whatever. I ain't apologizin' for shit like that! I was teasin' sure, but takin' advantage of people royally pisses me off!"
All that mattered was getting that shit deleted and getting this day over with. Rose didn't care how, but she was so checked out already. Fable was a weirdo with real head problems and Holly was an emotional hurricane of bitchiness. This was what happened when Rose stuck her nose in other's business...shit always hit the fan. So why bother caring if others were going to get hurt, huh? All I'm good for is hurting people.
