Semblance Name: Fly on the Wall
Rank of Semblance: E
Semblance Type: Passive
Primary/Secondary Category: Social (+2)
One Sentence Summary of Semblance: Mouche has the Passive semblance of Fly on the Wall, which allows the wielder to have greatly enhanced visual perception.
Description of Semblance: A little bit Aura and a little bit genetics, Mouche's Semblance further enhances his naturally perceptive Faunus trait, allowing him an incredible range of vision, up to the length of a telephone pole away (10-12 meters). Acting much like a fly's compound eyes, he is able to perceive motion at far greater speeds than most humans, and the range of colors that he is able to see with his naked eye is an order of magnitude larger as well, allowing him to more easily see through certain types of camouflage. He also has greater-than-normal peripheral vision, and does still possess the normal Faunus night vision trait.
Drawbacks of Semblance: While his perceptive capabilities are great, they are not without limits. As he does not actually have huge, massive, insect eyes, he does not, in fact, have 360 degrees of vision- despite superior peripheral vision to ordinary humans, he can only see what is in front of, or directly beside him, at any given time, and anything behind him is beyond the scope of his Semblance entirely. As well as this, his perception is imperfect- someone with much better Stealth than his Perception could still easily slip by him unnoticed.
Weapon Name: Snapshot
Rank of Weapon(s): F
Category: Social (+0)
Description of Weapons(s): Snapshot is an experimental high-tech palm-mounted camera and directional microphone set-up that Mouche had cybernetically implanted into his hands on a trip to Atlas. It is controlled by his Aura, allowing him to very discretely record videos, pictures, and audio at will. His left hand also houses a chamber like a small pistol, allowing him to defend himself if things get especially dicey.
Name of Non-Combat Ability: Little Weasel of a Man (Deception)
Rank of Non-Combat Ability: E
Category: Social. (+1)
Description of Non-Combat Ability: Decades of lying his ass off for both business and pleasure have made Mouche quite the proficient tale-spinner. He has a unique way with words, and can lie his way out of a lot of situations which might otherwise be hazardous for his health.
Name of Non-Combat Ability: Honest Wages for Honest Work (Wealth)
Rank of Non-Combat Ability: E
Category: Social. (+1)
Description of Non-Combat Ability: There's nothing honest about what Mouche does... But the money is good, and it comes flowing in like a river of gold! They say a sucker's born every minute, and if that's true, then it certainly explains the large audience he has, and the number of subscriptions to his newsletters and podcasts.
Name of Non-Combat Ability: 3rd Decade Man (Technology)
Rank of Non-Combat Ability: F
Category: Social. (+0)
Description of Non-Combat Ability: It's 26, going on 27, AV, get with the times, man! Mouche has always been on the forefront of modern Atlesian technology, and he's pretty damn smug about his home kingdom's dominance in the field. Be it a simple Scroll, or something as complex as his recording set-up, he has a pretty good sense of how it works.
Name of Combat Ability: Out of Sight, Out of Mind (Stealth)
Rank of Combat Ability: F
Category: Obstacle (+0)
Description of Combat Ability: Years of working in the field, especially as a war-time reporter, have made him pretty damn good at slipping in, out of, and around, any sort of risky engagement, and he's not too shabby at tailing a high profile figure either.
Name of Combat Ability: Superior Atlesian Technology (Dust: Hard Light)
Rank of Combat Ability: E
Category: Hazard (+1)
Description of Combat Ability: Implemented into the pistol part of his cybernetic rig, Mouche can fire a round of Hard Light dust, imported directly from Atlas, to protect him in the event of an attack. This Dust functions much the same as Hard Light Dust normally does, in that it provides a 2x2 meter barrier that takes damage for the user until broken, acting as a second Aura with E rank Durability. Per the Clock Rule, at E rank, he is limited to 2 uses of this ability per thread.
Primary Drive: This is generally going to be related to the goals/plot of the group your character is joining. What are their plot related goals? How are they working to accomplish that? How do they make decisions? What do they think they're doing and how do they justify doing it?
Fears: One deep fear like abandonment, loss of family, losing morality, etc. Several smaller fears like spiders, someone licking them, mold in food, just small things that bother them.
Style of Self-Expression: Mouche isn't an especially imposing figure, in spite of his sharp facial features. He's not very tall, with a slight build, his small bits of belly pudge well hidden by exquisitely tailored suits with tight vests. His appearance is immaculate, well-kept, but something about it strikes others as artificial- maybe it's the ridiculous amounts of greasy hair gel, maybe it's his way-too-white, way-too-enthusiastic grin, or the carefully-filled-in eyebrows. He doesn't feel like a real person, more like a pastiche of one, but that's all very much put-on, though intentional may not be the right word for it. Hell, who even knows if his hair isn't dyed? His most prominent feature, aside from his signature predatory smirk, would have to be his eyes- from a distance, they look rather normal, but up close, one can see that the whites of his eyes are a well-designed contact lens, and the red irises are the only real part of his eyes shown. That's because, like a fly's eyes, his are compound, made up of many tiny visual receptors. Unlike a fly, however, he is still able to move his eyes, giving him a normal human range of vision. Also, much like a fly, nobody really wants to listen to him- his voice is naturally a bit tinny and annoying, and the only reason anyone really tunes in to his show is to see what crazy shit he has to say next. He's got a bit of an Atlas City accent, specifically from a neighborhood famous for its mobster movies.
Most Important Thing: Every person has an exception to their in theory infallible ideals, what is yours? What is something that influences your character regardless of their moral code? What would they reject sacrificing even when driven to the brink, choosing to cut off their own finger rather than sacrifice? What would they kill for, if pushed? A character can believe firmly in every person being equal, but still show preference for a certain person when things come down to the wire. A character can believe in fairness in the moment but still act on a grudge at a critical moment. A character can be cool and collected, but if someone tries to spread misinformation about one specific thing they will lose their mind and fight against it no matter where they are or who they're in front of. (Application note: Please do not keep the example text with paragraphs in these sections. Delete them and insert your answers.)
Suggestion (Delete when finished with application): Don't focus on actions. Focus on relationships and emotional bonds between your character and others. If you are a character with starter level experience, you cannot have killed armies or won major battles -- your character is frankly entirely too weak to do that. If you write a bunch of heroic actions in the backstory, it becomes absolutely silly that someone can waste entire bandit tribes in the backstory and fails to do things much less than that when they come into actual play due to the stats not matching what they supposedly accomplished.
