It was a damn shame that pumpkin soup didn't -- or, more accurately, couldn't -- last forever. Toasted sandwiches were great too, sure, but it was nothing less than crushing sadness that the boy's bowl of bliss was coming to a delicious end. A tragedy for the modern day, perhaps. Alex finished off the rest of his meal and slugged down what little iced water was left for him, leaning back in his seat and letting out a very content sigh. A quick stretch, then another, and one last look out the window before it would be time to depart. With a smile meant for only for himself, the boy thrust a hand into his pocket and fumbled out a small leather wallet, setting some lien upon the table in a neat and slightly staggered pile.
"T'is was fun! We should eat here toget'er again some time." "I'd like that."
Alexandros weaved his way back through the Love Street Diner, between table and chair and patron alike with Carmim leading the charge to the door. The rain outside had either stopped or slowed down to such an insignificant drizzle that it would make no difference, with the dark clouds overhead finally starting to part and make way for the late-morning sunlight. The timing of it was, in his mind, almost reflective of how the whole affair had played out, with a delightful glow finally coming to break through an unknowable and uncertain gloom. Yeah, delightful was the word to best describe how the morning had gone; she was lovely, and the food was great, and that was a winning combination. While there was no way to be sure, Alex was comfortable he had made the right choice -- if being pushed around by a huge faunus could really be considered a 'choice' -- in coming here, today, at this time of day; he would've met Carmim eventually anyway, but there was no harm in the two of them having such a pleasant little brunch together. Well, not little in the end, but... Details! Details!
The two of them emerged back out into the city streets, and any awkwardness carried along with them drifted up into the clouds. The air was still cool and refreshing after the rain, with the sun already sending down just a hint of loving warmth. It was a perfect end, really, and one which the young Skouriá -- and likely his new friend -- welcomed with open arms. "Alright, well," Alexandros started with a smile, and a noticeably higher energy than when they had first met only a short while ago, "let's get going. I might as well take you up on that offer and tag along for the walk back to the academy."
