Some people have certain talents. There are those who can play a beautiful solo on a violin that brings you to tears. There are people that can punch a house, causing the house to weep in tears as it crumbles down. Holly had her talents. She wasn't a horrible mess who couldn't do anything of note. She got admitted into Haven Academy when so many others failed in that goal. She could climb, she could cook. She had talents.
Drawing wasn't one of those talents.
That piece of art was stapled on the activity board three times, and just to be certain, taped on the door to the cafeteria. People were going to notice this wether they liked it or not. Holly bought crayons for this, so people were going to notice her darned club!
Honestly, the idea of gardening with others was seen as both a double positive to Holly. She really liked grow stuff and was amazing at it thanks to her semblance. She could do in minutes that took mother nature months if not years. That also meant that everyone else that was going to come here was automatically going to be way less efficient in it. They would need to do the growing the old fashioned way if Holly didn't helped them...which just meant that this whole club was going to be her doing all the work. People would come to depend on her to make delicious food. People will like her for it. They wanted bananas, they could have bananas. They wanted flowers, they will be buried in them. They wanted coconuts? It shall rain coconuts! And when they have tasted the succulent bounty that Holly had to offer, they would become her friend. Friends lead to more friends, which lead to even more friends. With everyone being friends she could determine who could help her in the future with her goals, and who couldn't. It was the perfect plan.
Holly daydreamed about her perverted idea of friendship some more as she stood all alone in one of Haven's club rooms. It was surprisingly easy to receive the permission to use one of these rooms, as all of the previous clubs seized to be after the accident. It is honestly a shivering thought to think about...So Holly wasn't going to do that. Trying to focus on something else, she examined the sparse equipment she could collect for this "club". Most notably, there were several plant pots placed around the room on tables, all filled with different seedlings that she prepared earlier. This way, she could both show off her semblance, as well as give anyone interested a good look at how plants grow at mach speed. She had tomatoes, corn, pineapple, roses, carrots, raspberries and strawberries. While she actually wanted to grow a banana-tree, she wasn't allowed to when she brought it up when asked what she wanted to grow in her gardening club. Something about breaking the ceiling... To not be accused of false advertisement, she grew a small banana-tree in a corner of the quad when nobody was paying attention to still have some bananas. They were on the poster, so it would be rude not to have them. Holly wasn't a liar.
What she did was, was alone. The girl would have guessed that people would show up by now... After waiting for a few more minutes she started to realize that she didn't put a time on the poster, so she was kinda at fault for her own neglect. Planting her face on the desk, she groaned as her whole "friend-scheme" was going off flawlessly.

WORDS: 700 TAG:Holly Hock NOTES: AAAAAA GIVE TOMAT NOW P PLS AAAAAAAAAA
HAVE YOU SEEN HER? HAVE YOU HEARD? THE WAY SHE MOVES, THERE ARE NO WORDS
As soon as she had seen the poster, she was in motion immediately.
Two things motivated young Miss Clover. The first, was the prospect of sweet, juicy, succulent, tomatoes. Homegrown, and fat with love and sand, the way her auntie used to grow them. While she was becoming more and more associated with her infatuation with cheese, the ambrosia of gods, pungent and creamy and perfect, she had not forgotten her roots. Maybe she even like tomatoes more than cheese! Maybe. Y'know, if it was the right tomato, and the wrong cheese.
The second thing that motivated her was her primary source of motivation in general, to do anything at Haven- friendship. She and Holly were alike in more than a few ways, including their alliterative names. The burning desire for friendship was forged deep down in her heart of hearts, and she was pushed on by this urge, to go find a new friend. She had made many friends at Haven already, but none that gardened, and definitely none who drew tomatoes on posters. So now she was very interested in seeing who this new (to her) person was!
And more importantly, she was hungry- it was lunch time, and she had, once again, forgotten to prepare a tasty, delicious and nutritious, lunch for herself, meaning it was either rely on this gardening club to hopefully have tomatoes already available, or facing the cafeteria again.
The little redhead shuddered.
Never. Never again. Not after the last meat loaf fiasco. The taste was etched into her mind, and it burned like the heat of a thousand suns. That had not been food, it had been a travesty.
Stepping into the hallway where the club rooms were located, she realized that she had never really explored much of this hall, except for the area where the music rooms were hidden away. For a moment, she worried that she wouldn't be able to find the meeting place, except as she looked around, she definitely saw scraps of paper with crudely drawn arrows all over the walls, like some kind of cartoonish trap. And, of course, like a proper flightless bird of great speed, she was going to head right on in, completely disregarding the wily canid and his loony nonsensical tricks.
The door was open, so she just stepped on in, and was greeted by the sight of a pink-haired girl, face buried in her desk. Was she napping? The desks were pretty good for naps. Looking her over, she realized she actually recognized her- she was one of the other students from the forest! She didn't remember much about her, though, at least not immediately. But she did notice, with great satisfaction, that this girl was also not especially fond of shoes- both of them were barefooted as yard dogs, completely defying the societal expectations of wearing stupid dumb shoes. She wondered where the girl was from, actually- what did she like to feel under her feet? For Carmim, it was sand, which there was a disappointing lack of in Mistral.
Which was why she held in one hand a small sack of sand! She had to have looked crazy when she ordered it from a local gardening shop- they sold soil there, for growing plants, but why would anyone even want a bag of sand!? What use could it even serve!?
Well, food just tasted wrong without it sometimes.
What? She was a Vacuo village girl, through and through. Sand was a seasoning, not just the single most common thing in her home kingdom. She'd brought some with her to grow tomatoes in! The best ones were grown in sandy dirt, after all, just how she had eaten them back home, for years. Speaking of which-
"Hello, my friend! Is t'is t'e gardening club? I am very excited about t'is!" Her smile was bright and vibrant, beaming up at Holly from the doorway. "Your poster advertised tomatoes, yes? Because I am starving, and I would love some tomatoes, if you have them... T'ey are my favorite food." Well. Favorite was a relative term, of course.
"I don't t'ink we have met- my name is Carmim Clover! What is yours?"

It took Asterion about a minute to actually decipher what the poster on the wall was actually trying to convey to him. What in all of Remnant was a 'gar denin' club? Was it some Vacuo or Veilian thing? It was like someone had drawn/written the word with an accent. The idea seemed odd to him. How exactly do you extend a verbal accent to paper? It was sometime during this train of thought that his brain finally seemed to take in the rest of the poster.
Oh.
Oh.
It actually meant Gardening Club... Well, he was certainly glad that no one had been around to see his confusion or able to read his mind. Asterion would be mighty sheepish if someone caught him being so thoroughly confused by a simple poster.
With that ridiculous thought process over, the bull Faunus contemplated the idea of a Gardening Club. He'd certainly seen or heard about other clubs drifting around the school, but none that were explicity looking for members or had popped up so recently. Considering the fact he had arrived at Haven somewhat later than the other students, combined with the fact he had spent most of his first few weeks either working out, working on his bike, or recovering from that mission, Asterion supposed that he had simply missed the sign-up period for most of the clubs.
Gardening was certainly an idea that appealed to the young man. His mother had kept a small garden outside of their home in Wind Path, mostly catering to the idea of keeping a few vegetables around the house that they didn't have to buy. Because of her night centric work schedule, the idea would have been rather shortlived if Asterion hadn't stepped in. He took to the idea as a form of training, as hoeing the ground and tending to the plants did require a good bit of strength and attention. His mother had certainly thanked him for it. Thanks to his natural size and musculature, he had even managed to plant some fruit bearing trees outside by himself. Those times were certainly a set of good memories for the bull Faunus, so the idea of taking up gardening again at Haven intrigued him.
Seeing as he was free at the moment, he figured it couldn't hurt to stop into the clubroom of this new group and see what they were like. Traversing to the wing of the school that was said to contain the extra-curricular club rooms, he realized that the posted hadn't specified exactly what room or part of the wing the Gardening Club was located in. He took a moment to scratch the top of his head in confusion, the act of taking his arm so high almost stretching the seams of his school uniform. The poor set of clothing had to be tailored for a man as large as he was and the tailor hadn't quite anticipated the sheer mass of the boy. When he did eventually manage to find a bread crumb trail of cartoonish arrows that seemed to be directing him to a room further into the wing, he couldn't do much else but follow.
When he eventually reached the ground zero that the post-it notes had been pointing him towards, he leaned his large frame in through the door and knocked on the wall as he breached the inside of the room. "Um, pardon my sudden entrance, but this wouldn't happen t'be the Gardening Club room would it, now? I came to see about joining." His tone was trying to be as polite as possible, but his nervousness caused his country bumpkin-like accent to come out a little. When he took in the sight of the two girls in the room already, he held up a large, scarred hand in greeting. "I don't think we've met one another. I'm Asterion Alizarin. Please don't call me by my full first name though, it's too long. Azzy or something similar like that. Kishka just calls me Big Guy, after all."

At the point that Holly almost certainly had fallen asleep on the desk of shame, she heard the distinct sound of a voice. And it sounded like someone who sounded excited about gardening. Like an attentive dog, Holly went to sit up straight and turn her focus towards the sound. Her hair was a pink hot mess of strands after laying face down for a while, and she seemed to be unable to process that there was, in fact, really another person there. After this short moment though, Holly seemed to realize who was in front of her. That suit and hair was unmistakable. That was Carmin from the forest training mission. She was like...the strongest student at this school, not? Was she interested that interested in tomato?
Holly got up from the chair, her bare feet touching the stone floor. While the floor wasn't cold per se, it wasn't the same as nice comfy grass or squishy mud. "Hello there, Carmin. Holly Hock, I started the Gardening Club." While the girl sounded moderately excited about having at least one person show up, she didn't beam a smile of her own while greeting the sharpy-dressed musician. Instead, she beckoned the girl to come closer as Holly herself walked into the classroom and over towards one of the many tables on which a pot plant was placed. Next to it was a post-it on which the word 'tomatoe' is written in the same red color crayon as used for the poster. The next words she said would most likely be meant as a joke, but as the girl wasn't laughing or smiling about it, it bordered on the line of being serious. "I can help you make a boatload of tomatoes if you want to. You can drown in them if you let me."
After that vaguely threatening yet delicious prospect, Holly was alerted by another presence as a giant of a Faunus appeared inside the doorframe. He was like a chunk of meat and muscle wrapped in a uniform. Holly seemed to black out for a short moment, as her mind drifted back to her childhood on her island so far from here. Asterion reminded her an awful lot to the soldiers from her youth. Tall and strong, ready to fight. She was so small, and they were so tall. Of course, Holly knew now that they only looked that big because she was a lot smaller. But now this humongous Bull's size difference brought back those memories for Holly. It made her feel oddly safe, and somewhat sad, even though her face didn't betrayed much emotion at all besides dull surprise at another person. Holly gave a characteristically ominous greeting as she was looking deadpan. "Do you want to drown in tomatoes too, Azzy?"
HAVE YOU SEEN HER? HAVE YOU HEARD? THE WAY SHE MOVES, THERE ARE NO WORDS
For a brief moment, the little redhead was honestly concerned that the strange pink-haired girl was knocked out. Fortunately, she bolted upright in her seat at the sound of Carmim's voice. Well that was reassuring- tomatoes could seldom be grown in one's sleep. Or maybe she could? That would be genuinely incredible. The absolute most amazingest thing she could ever have imagined!
The way Holly said her name was less amazing. Why? WHY? It was so easy to pronounce Carmim! Mim! Not Min! What could she have possibly ever done to deserve this cruelty? She didn't comment on it, though- she was far too nice to correct her, at least not right away, anyways. Maybe if her name was as hard to pronounce as Algeria's... Uh. Armchair? Appstore? Her snake friend. Whatever his incredibly difficult name was. Him. Instead, she smiled and waved. "Hi Holly!" At least she had a sensible, normal name. Not at all like Autobot. She felt a little sorry for Kishka, who must have the worst time remembering her boyfriend's name. Maybe she just used fake couple-y names instead? That sounded right.
As right as Holly's threatening promise sounded. Many would be off-put by the vaguely aggressive wording, and the prospect of drowning in tomatoes, in general, but Carmim was not many, she was one, and this one had a fever. A fever where the only prescription was juicy, red, and could conceivably fill a boat. Her voice was filled with wonder and hunger as she half-whispered, "You can do that? Wow... A whole boatload of tomatoes..." The idea was tantalizing enough to earn a growl from her rumbly stomach. It was now or never- no turning back now, she was going to wait for those tomatoes, because she no longer possessed the strength to walk to the cafeteria. Or even to run in general...
Even though she immediately ran over to Asterion, as the massive bull faunus entered the room. He's so...! Huge!
She just stared up at him, mouth open and awestricken for a good minute, as Holly did all the talking. Finally, when she had gained the composure to speak, she managed to blurt out the obvious. "You are... So tall! How did you get that tall?! You must eat so many tomatoes, and a whole wheel of cheese a day!! There is no way you could be so tall ot'erwise!" It was true- her mom had always told her, growing up, that she needed to get lots of Vitamin C and Vitamin D to grow big and strong.
Obviously, it had worked for her thus far, with her rather unusual diet. She stood at a very impressive 4'10", dwarfed by normal people, let alone this gigantic tower of muscles. How did he even fit in the doorway!? It was incredible! She had never been more amazed!
Finally, she realized she hadn't actually greeted him, and she froze, with a sheepish grin and wide eyes, face flushed with embarrassment. "Err, oh, sorry about t'e barrage of questions, I have just neve' seen somebody so big before! My name is Carmim! It is nice to meet you, Azzy, my friend!"
And now, introductions made, they could all feast on an ocean of tomatoes. Drowning had never seemed so fun.

"Do you want to drown in tomatoes too, Azzy?"
Asterion could only blink in respones to Holly's greeting. How did one even begin to drown in tomatoes? He could only imagine that working with a pool full of tomatoe juice or literally being stuck in a room that was so jam packed with tomatoes that the air couldn't flow. Granted, you could maybe just eat your way out of that scenario, but that was a big if. The bull faunus supposed there were definitely worse deaths one could experience in their world. Tomatoes were certainly yummy.
"Perhaps not drown in them, but I do like tomatoes. I usually either eat them like an apple or make them into sauce to cook with." He managed to respond with a chuckle, reigning back in his country bumpkin accent. It was probably no surprise that he could pack away a large amount of tomatoes. They were healthy, something he valued with his life full of physical health and training, and could be used in plenty of things that weren't healthy. Just because he was a fitness nut didn't mean he didn't crave a pizza every now and again. Besides, tomatoes and cheese belonged together.
When Carmim approached him, he was hard-pressed not to immediately laugh. She was certainly the most excited person he'd met about his height. "Why, yes, I did eat a lot of tomatoes and cheese when I was growing up. The smugglers in Wind Path, where I grew up, didn't exactly have a monopoly on cheese like they did other things, so it was easy to come by. I and my mother grew the tomatoes so they were big enough for me and her. Dad was the small one. Didn't eat his cheese and tomatoes, y'see?" A raucous, booming laugh escaped from the Faunus' throat, his wild mane of hair bouncing as he did so.
When he was done with indulging in his amusement, Asterion crouched down to where he was on Carmim's level and shook her hand. "It's certainly a pleasure to meet you, Miss Carmim! I hope we get to be good friends and have fun together! And no need to apologize for questions, I'm an open book, y'see? Anything about me you want to know, just give me a holler and I'll spill the beans." He found Carmim very fun already. She was very loud for her size, which was something he found amusing. He was actually surprised to see a teenager be so small, which immediately made the much larger student want to carry her around on his shoulders.
Staying crouched, he turned his attention back in Holly's direction. "So why are you planning on drowning someone in ground-based fruits, Miss?"

The big horned one named Azzy seemed to enjoy answering questions. Well, Holly had a question that she needed a Faunus to answer. Ever since Holly met Niraya in the forest she had the idea in her head that there might be Faunus out there who are humans. It was honestly both a back-watered and stupid idea, but it was in that head of hers. Azzy was big...did he became that because because he had eaten man meat? Holly waited to ask the question, as she was asked about drowning people in tomatoes. Well, the question was more based in any fruit. Maybe grapes would be easier? She beckoned the two to come over again with a motion of her hand. "The answer to 'why' is because it pleases Carmin, and I am a good club president. The answer as to 'how', I will demonstrate."
When her two disciplines of the green came close enough to at least see what Holly was doing, she would begin to touch the plant with one of her fingers. After inhaling and exhaling for a moment, she began the process of playing god and accelerate the growth of the plant. What was a sapling first rapidly became a small tomato plant, which continued to grow even more in the span of the next few minutes. This act was way less intense than growing the banana tree. It was way smaller, so it allowed Holly to easily explain what she was doing as she looked at the others in the room. "My semblance allows me to grow plants, and also to control them. I can grow tomatoes over and over again with just one plant. It will make this gardening club..." Holly searched for the right word for a moment, and eventually she came up with something. "...productive."
At this moment, small green buds started to form on the plant, and the small green buds grew to tomatoes. They weren't the largest thanks to the species of plant Holly had procured, but they looked ripe and edible. Holly gestured over towards the plant, and for the others to taste the fruits of her labor. As she did so, she looked over towards the Big Furry Giant and dropped this bombshell out of the blue.
"I am asking only because Niraya thinks I want to eat her, but do some Faunus eat people? I am not saying you do, but do you know Faunus who do? Like a tiger?"
The question was dumb, but Holly tried to nuance it as best as she could with her monotone voice. It sounded more curious than accusingly, as if the girl truly thought it to be a possibility. There was also a smidgen of sadness in her voice, as the girl still had a tiny part of her that felt sad at saying the words to her bush-knight.
HAVE YOU SEEN HER? HAVE YOU HEARD? THE WAY SHE MOVES, THERE ARE NO WORDS
Knew it!
It was, of course, common knowledge that juicy tomatoes and creamy cheese were crucial to developing strong bones and muscles, which is why she was- err, well, why Azzy was so large. It didn't explain her complete lack of height at all, but she figured if she hadn't eaten so much cheese as a little girl, she would have stopped growing at half her current height. She wasn't exactly sure where Wind Path was, but she was glad to know he and his mom were well-fed. Sounded like his dad definitely should have eaten more, though- her laughter rang out alongside his loud guffaws, taking immense satisfaction in the joyful way he told his little bit of story. It was always nice to find someone else as fast on the road to friendship as herself.
Carmim responded to his handshake by firmly grasping his monstrously huge hand with her own, which, while not large by any stretch, was strong and well-worn by years of hand-drumming, thick with callouses and solidly built. She beamed up a grin at him bright as the sun, before turning her head to Holly, who had begun speaking about tomatoes, the objectively most important thing in the room at the moment.
Immediately, she skidded over to where the taller girl was standing, and watched in awe as she turned what once was a little sapling, into a large, vibrant tomato vine, heavy with the delicious fruits. What Holly had said was true, indeed- Carmim was definitely pleased, and the pink-haired girl was definitely a good club president.
Her description of her semblance was incredible, too! Yet another trainee whose semblance sounded way cooler and more useful than her own. The little redhead was impressed, as she hungrily plucked a fat tomato from the vine, greedily devouring it as quickly as her mouth could chew. It was so good! The most delicious tomato she'd ever tasted! She had to have more!
As soon as she finished the first one, she wasted no time in plucking a second tomato, and then a third from the vine, chewing through them with hungry delight. Mouth full of tasty red goodness, she happily beamed up at the garden club president. "These are so good, my friend! What other things can you make? This is amazing!!"
And just like that, Holly Hock had obtained a new number one fan.

Holly looked at Carmim eating the fruit of her labor. She devoured the tomatoes like a hungry wolf would its prey. They were gone quicker than it would grow, and it made Holly question something. If Carmim would eat tomatoes in this pace, there is no chance Holly will get to drown here in them. Even if she would get a tub, or something like that, she would just gobble them all up before there is a chance of suffocation. Hmm, would there be a limit to the amount she could eat? There should be a limit to the amount that could fit in her stomach, right? Unless that was her semblance? Eating stuff without growing hungry? Only more powerful...[break] [break]
To answer the question, Holly gestured to all the plant pots scattered about the room. Her normal deadpan voice had a small hint of enthusiasm to it. "I think I can grow about every plant there is, as long as I have a seedling. Flowers, fruit, vegetables, trees. I tried moss a few times, but it is weirdly enough kinda tricky." Holly's attitude slightly shifted after saying those words, and a frowns appeared on her face for a moment. Damned moss...mocking Holly in their seedless and rootless existence. Why did they need to be the one blemish on an otherwise perfect track record. One day she will conquer moss, and that day will be glorious.[break] [break]
But for now, there was a club to run. Holly's general countenance shifted to ice cold again, as she faced Carmim. This was president Holly speaking. "So, what is your experience with all things plants? I can grow things, but the plants still need water and care to not die. I cannot control plants that have withered away. Also, how good are you with money?" The second question wasn't as random as one would think. While Holly was poor at explaining it, the club needed a 'Treasurer'...which as well as Holly understood it meant someone other than her to keep an eye on who spend what money. Holly didn't understood why she couldn't do it, but it was one of the requirements for getting some Lien for activities and other equipment if they needed it.[break] [break]
Well...unless the club made money some other way... [break] [break]

HAVE YOU SEEN HER? HAVE YOU HEARD? THE WAY SHE MOVES, THERE ARE NO WORDS
Wow... What incredible power! The ability to grow almost any plant there was, except for maybe moss (damnable fuzzy green stuff!) It was incredible to Carmim, who was hardly able to fathom what infinite tomatoes would be like. Other than incredible, that is! Holly was her President, this was decided immediately. It was a simple fact of life, accepted as easily as the fact that the moon was broken, the woods were full of horrifying monsters, and Colton Deraine looked exactly like a less attractive Hickory Greene. (But close enough for her...)
Her loyalty had been bought with the sweetest and most succulent fruits of the earth, and there was no longer any going back. If she wanted a steady stream of tomatoes, she would definitely be sticking with Holly from here on out.
The pink-haired girl spoke again, in her dry tone, with a hint more seriousness in her voice. This was a business proposition. Carmim straightened her back and glanced down to make sure her tie was on straight, knowing that this interview could mean the difference between an on-the-spot hiring decision, and a lifetime of sadness and instant regret.
Wait, what?
No, it was just a silly club, it couldn't be that serious.
But fuck that noise, she was going to take this more seriously than she'd ever taken anything before in her life! She couldn't necessarily recall much about her skills with plants, or her skills with money, but what she did know was that she was good enough at both of those things, hopefully! And she seemed to be the only candidate, to her knowledge. "Well, my family back home had a small farm t'at we grew t'ings on to provide for ourselves and t'e rest of t'e village, so I know a little bit about growing plants. And I don't t'ink I have a lot of experience wit' money, specifically, but I'm very good at spending it on t'ings when I do have it, so if you told me what to spend it on, I t'ink I would be very qualified to do t'at. I t'ink."
It was her very best impression of a successful businesswoman, and she felt she had delivered it exceptionally well, considering her face was still smeared with tomato juice. She didn't relax her shoulders yet, though, waiting anxiously for Holly's response, a response that may well either start the beginning of a new, lucrative, career in gardenin, or else, send her spiraling into a crippling depression, costing her lots of Lien, and putting a strain on her marriage, until it ended in a devastating divorce, her wife taking the kids and the goat, leaving her nothing but liquor to dull the pain, until she slowly faded away.
She was really hopeful for the first thing.

Good with spending money...Isn't everyone good with spending money? Holly listened attentively to Carmim with cold eyes. Carmim seemed nice. She acknowledged that Holly was amazing, she said that she liked Holly's delicious tomatoes, and she even ran a farm back home. That at least means that she knows how to water plants right? The actual growing aspect was something that Holly could do, and that honestly was the easy part for her. Exhausting, but easy. Keeping the grown plants alive with water was something that Holly needed help with if her plans would go according to plan. [break] [break]
There were going to be a lot of plants after all.[break] [break]
Holly approached Carmim now, placing her hands on her back as if she was a pint-sized general inspecting her troops. Her pint-sized troop. Singular. The girl's countenance remained passionless however, as she gave what must have been a rousing speech in her head. Her voice made it sound like she was reading an invisible teleprompter. Still, Holly had a feeling she could trust Carmim. Let her in a bit on the plans Holly was beginning to form in her head. [break] [break]
"It doesn't matter if you are not the greatest with money! As long as your name stands on a piece of paper, nobody will ask questions! Today you have become part of something greater! With the power of my semblance and your unbridled spirit for all things tomato, we shall establish a club. The best of clubs. A club so great that it will be too large to be contained within Haven. There might come a time when we need to expand. When that day is here, can I count on you to help me bring our awesome produce to the hungry masses? To help sell our goods at a market-appropriate price to establish a balance in demand and supply that will ensure a steady source of revenue to make our club even greater? To make even more people members of our club? Are you ready for that great leap forward when it comes?" [break] [break]
Holly now placed her hand on Carmim's shoulder, as she looked straight into the other girl's eyes. A sparkle of hope was to be seen in the pink girl's eyes. She seemed to be going all the way in this crazy club idea. Holly wasn't all that interested in the money. It was there to help grow the club. Make it better, make more friends through it. If she could sell fruit and vegetables on the market, and used that money to help pay for cool new things for the club, maybe other people would join it too? If people do not want to be friends with you for the kind of person you are, perhaps you can buy them? Holly...Holly wanted friends. More friends than she had now. Friends to do things with, friends to talk with, friends to share feelings she had. Holly started to maybe make friends during the midterms, but it wasn't enough. She still felt empty, and while this club was nice...if it didn't brought friends through posters, perhaps they would come if Holly gave them stuff? [break] [break]
It was honestly the only plan the girl had at this moment. [break] [break]

HAVE YOU SEEN HER? HAVE YOU HEARD? THE WAY SHE MOVES, THERE ARE NO WORDS
The pint-sized general patted her pint-sized troop (one (1), singular) on the back, and at that moment, Carmim understood that she was suddenly a part of something much bigger than herself. She was one half of the world's greatest organization. Or at least, the most important club at Haven Academy. Or well, the only one she both knew about and took an interest in.
Alright, the only one she knew about.
Still! It was a big deal! And a huge honor! And Holly's rousing speech definitely fueled her on. It touched on all the important things Carmim would have liked to have discussed as part of her hiring process, including her passion for all things tomato-related and tomato-based, and the shiny prospect of putting her name on a piece of paper. Carmim liked both of those things! Filled with a surge of vegetative patriotism, Carmim enthusiastically responded to Holly's rhetorical speech questions. Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! I am, I am ready for t'e leap!!!!"
Frankly, Carmim didn't care about the money, and unlike Holly, wasn't really too concerned with what the money would be used for, which was probably not the best mindset, given her new fiscal responsibilities, but she was far too caught up in the prospect of infinite tomatoes. She didn't know if friends could be bought, but she did know that tomatoes could be bought, and if friendship was the price for tomatoes, that was a price she was more than willing to pay, because then she'd get tomatoes AND a friend, and those were both things that went together really well, like bananas and noodles. Not that she ever put bananas and noodles together before, but that sure did sound like a tasty combination. And if bananas went well on pizza, why not in pasta too? It only made sense.
She would have to figure out exactly where Holly stood on the intensely controversial bananas on pizza debate some day, but for now, she simply saluted her new president, and stood at attention, while also paying attention. It figured that her first act as treasurer and vice president would be to pay Holly something. She was already off to a very good start.
"What is our first order of business, miss president!?"

Something inside Holly cheered when Carmim accepted the offer as enthusiastically as she did. If was a moment of happiness and a relieve that anyone wanted to sign up for her club at all. Somewhere in her heart, Holly honestly had feared that nobody came through that door today, even though she had made the best posters ever. Few people wanted anything to do with her, and even if they had come to check it out, maybe they didn’t want to do anything after they had met Holly. It wasn’t like she had made any friends before this day. [break] [break] Still, Carmim seemed nice. She seemed to be as enthusiastic about tomatoes as Holly as about all things plant. Save for moss…damn moss. Eventually the two of them should try to expand the club, but for now the two of them could manage the basics and set up everything that was needed. They will have fun, they will have snack, they will build the foundations of a wonderful enterprise that was Holly’s start to a wonderful live in Haven. She will have an income, she will have more club members, she will do great! [break] [break] Brimming with the first hint of genuine enthusiasm for the future she had felt in a very long time, Holly addressed her lieutenant as the model of a modern Garden-General, with the information vegetable, veg'table, and veg'table. Giving Carmim a salute in return, she gave the first command of their new organisation. “We will need to fill out paperwork! Which means that we need something else than crayons because I was told that it wasn’t allowed to write with it. Also, more research in what Niraya likes to eat so that I am certain that I will not be on the menu!” [break] [break] And so, the most unlikely club to succeed was formed. [break] [break] Holly never found a pen to write with, so the two did in the end resort to using crayons for Carmim’s application. As the two decided to hand in the application with a complimentary fruit basket, it was still accepted. Holly learned that day that bribery worked. [break] [break]
