”Of course you don’t know who he is. I said he was from Atlas, didn’t I?” Nasrin was taken aback by how close Heidi sounded to being mad with her. She hadn’t done anything wrong, as far as she knew anyways, hell she’d even saved Heidi from taking a massive fucking explosion to the face. She frowned but continued talking, becoming more upset as she went on seeing how Heidi seemed to respond to her comments. It was like everything she said was making her more angry or generally grumpy with Nasrin and she still hadn’t figured out why exactly that was the case. At least Heidi’s explanation was somewhat better, and she seemed to soften up when answering Nasrin’s questions on the matter of why she hadn’t gone looking for a person she, at least hopefully, cared about. Nasrin sighed as she turned back towards Solomon. She’d be happy when she saw Heidi was back, but now it was beginning to feel like the other girl didn’t even want her around. [Break] [Break]
Suddenly, Solomon rolled off of the trash he had been set on and stumbled forward. Nasrin jumped back almost on instinct, ready for him to do something stupid yet again now that he had regained conciousness. He seemed focused on Heidi, or at least he was walking towards her, though with how much he was stumbling and how out of it he still seemed to be Nasrin didn’t think Heidi was in much trouble. She watched from a slight distance as her girlfriend redirected the stumbling Sol off down the alleyway and away from the two of them. [Break]
Heidi looked disappointed in what she saw from the other student, how he was stumbling around and likely the opposite of whatever she had imagined him to be like. Nasrin knew how that felt so at least she could empathize with Heidi in that regard, though the rest of the taller girls emotions made so little sense at the moment. ”What a waste. Well, I suppose he has plenty of stink on him now.” [Break] [Break]
Nasrin nodded, ”Good, fucker deserves it after what he did.” and then turned her gaze up to Heidi where it remained for quite some time as she tried to decipher what exactly was going on in that head of hers. Heidi was still frowning, though now down towards Nasrin causing her to shrink back under the angry gaze. She did not like the feeling of making those she cared for upset, and somehow she had done exactly that with Heidi. She missed the Heidi from the midterms, the confident and headstrong but generally rather kind and honest Heidi, and she was unsure which one of them she would see more often in the future but the possibility of this being the norm caused Nasrin’s frown to deepen even further as she turned her gaze away. Heidi had won the staring contest, and Nasrin wouldn’t look up for eye contact again unless something major changed in the mood of the conversation. [Break] [Break]
Looking for something else to focus her eyes on, Nasrin continued to watch Sol stumble away down the alley. It had all been his fault, really. If he hadn’t been here then Nasrin and Heidi could have reunited under much better circumstances. But no, he had to go and fuck it up by blowing up half a bar and making Nasrin do /something/ that pissed of Heidi. [Break]
”Don’t know what I did to make ya’ upset but if I can fix it let me know, yeah? Was excited to see you is all.” She spoke quietly, honestly unsure if what she said would upset Heidi more. That was the last thing she wanted to do. Nasrin began to head back out of the alley towards the bar again, she moved slowly with her head down as she thought over what had happened and what she’d done wrong. It had been a while since Nasrin had had someone she wanted to be close with, and she’d gone and fucked it up. [Break]
She took her anger out on a can as she walked, kicking the crumpled bit of aluminium ahead of her with each step towards the exit of the alley.
