TRP is a post-Great War AU RWBY RP set in Mistral City and Haven Academy with no canons, no rank claims, no maidens, and no god interference. We offer a progression system and site-wide events that change the setting based on player actions.
Once you reach the state of Exhaustion you will suffer an ever increasing and massive decrease to most stats.
You reach the Exhausted state by going full blast for four posts attack and defense plus one for every rank of stamina. G rank stamina? 4 posts. E rank stamina? 6 posts. You attacked that post if you attempted to attack anything, and you defended that turn if you attempted to dodge or deflect any attack coming your way. Slip out of the way of a sword slash? You defended. Sword slash at someone else? You attacked. Easy concept. In event threads this will be enforced by the DM. In personal threads it'll be decided amongst yourselves. This is not an exact marker and it isn't meant to be. Dodging 400 arrows by wall running and leaping across a chasm and sidestepping a thrust are not the same, and there's wiggle room there that is absolutely intended. The one exception to this are passive stamina semblances, which have 5 posts worth of stamina at G rank and go up by one per rank as usual past that point.
On the first post of exhaustion all abilities including weapon and semblance drop one rank in effectiveness. Even abilities that rely on aura will be unable to be aimed properly and thus do less damage and have less accuracy due to physical exhaustion.
On the second post of exhaustion all abilities including weapon and semblance drop two ranks in effectiveness.
On the third post of exhaustion all abilities including weapon and semblance drop three ranks in effectiveness.
For every round thereafter all abilities will have a three rank drop in effectiveness. For skills that reach G rank and are lowered twice, the character is no longer able to use them. If your character speed is G rank to begin with, for example, by the second round of exhaustion your character effectively can't move.
Characters at Senior tier or above and/or a semblance that gives stamina will have a slightly modified exhaustion effects sheet, with the first and second post being a one rank reduction in all stats, the third post being a two rank reduction in all stats, and the fourth post being a three rank reduction. This is to reflect that characters at that level or with that semblance would be better able to manage exhaustion and compensate for its ill effects. The benefits stack for as long as the semblance with the stamina boost is active, meaning that combined they would give three posts at the first stage of exhaustion before deteriorating further.
One post of resting, neither attacking nor defending alleviates one stage of exhaustion. Once in an exhausted state, either attacking or defending in a post moves you onto the next stage of exhaustion the next post. This is punishing and is absolutely supposed to be. If you're foregoing stamina, you better be doing a bunch of damage to end a fight quickly or have friends around that can cover you while you catch your breath.
This is a net buff compared to previous rules until the second round of exhaustion, where it becomes worse. The exhaustion rules are put into place largely to help curb power play and make fight scenes not last for 40 posts. It also opens up different playstyles than just doing tons of damage by abusing the fact that people will become weaker over time should you manage to stall them for that long.
