This is going to be different than the usual type of event that we run, insofar as the usual format is not going to be followed.
This side of the event is an explicitly Discord-heavy one, where to get full EP for the event you need to post here with your starting location before the event ends and to participate in the finale thread(s). Signing up is done via that thread or by declaring your position in the IC chat, and just via asking until late signups are ended around December 20th. Signing up after the event starts properly on the 10th means your starting location is your room in the dorm with no exceptions. IC chat channel is #event-chat only, and mentions of this event beyond that point will be ignored.
Time and space are critical to this event, which is Death Enabled. Like all Death Enabled threads, posts past the time the Death Enabled thread is set are banned. This means that any thread starting after January 3rd, 26AV are not allowed for anyone participating in this event until that event is over. Metagaming is uniquely terrible in this scenario because I am the only one who knows what is going to happen and has the event map. On the cbox the first message in the Event Chat reads:
This means that any calls/texts/etc. that are sent outside of that channel explicitly do not count and will be regarded as cheating unless specifically initiated by the Storyteller for the scenario (me). Your scroll is the only means of communication aside from physically doing so or using semblances to get around the power outage somehow.
If at any point you do not declare where your character is, your character stays in the same area. The campus is divided as follows:
‘Exhausted’ means generally 4 posts worth of exhaustion on arrival to the thread.
There are many questions left unanswered at this point, the first being “What is this event about?” which I will not answer. This is explicitly a suspense-based event where figuring out what the hell is going on is the entire point of the event, so of course I’m not going to tell you in the information thread. This practice of withholding information may not be your speed, which is fine. Like all events, participation is optional and if you feel like going into a Death Enabled event without any indication of what it is about and threat level rather than any information about the threat, then don't do it. For this one, the uncertainty is the point.
Note: Haven Academy is easily 5 square miles and likely more than that when including training areas farther from the dorms. If we're using 10 minutes walking a mile as standard, walking a mile in 3-5 feet of snow is double that. Going across campus in the 15 minute increments is thus usually not possible unless you are willing to arrive exhausted after running the entire time to cover multiple miles in those conditions -- this is exempted if you have flight. Think of the dorms as the central location, so most places are going to be within 2-3 miles of them. Once you move to an edge of campus, it's going to be impossible to move all the way across in the 15 minute increments.
Posting is disabled for this thread. This is not a signup thread, it is an information thread.

All actions taken with a scroll must be marked down in this chat or it does not count. Reception is terrible, with the connection being down to one bar and only updating about once every fifteen to thirty seconds. There is huge lag and some messages error out due to connection loss in transit. Phone calls are static-y as hell. Electricity seems to have gone out at this point all across campus. This is uncommon but not very much so when the weather is particularly awful, and usually power is restored within about 15 minutes max. The power has just gone out when this chat starts. Date is January 3rd, 26AV and the timeframe is 1830hrs. You may not advance past 1845hrs until the next progression of time, which will happen periodically.

For the purposes of this event, the campus is going to be split up into different areas. Moving to different areas requires you to opt into the action so there is no confusion by typing for example [Reynard goes to the Infirmary] at the end of a message. Time and space are super important in this event, so in the interest of removing teleportation I’ve simplified down the areas/travel mechanics as much as possible.
The Dorms will be in the middle, and movement from here to anywhere else is generally going to be pretty easy.
Classrooms are near to the Dorms in most directions, and will be divided into East (Green) and West (Red) classrooms. Anyone can make it in one time increment to either of these from the Dorms.
The Great Hall/Cafeteria are near the Dorms but to the North very close to each other, and anyone can make it there in one increment from the dorms.
The Quad is farther East, and reachable in one increment from the dorms only for those with F+ rank speed or those who are willing to be exhausted when they arrive. It has a small forest in the area.
Training Facilities will refer to the outdoor ones that each class uses, with each class having a different one in the North. It is the farthest away from the Dorms, and reachable in one increment only for those with E+ rank speed or those with F+ rank speed who are willing to be exhausted when they arrive. Those with less speed will need two time increments to make it there.
The Infirmary is in the South, close enough to the dorms where anyone can make it there in one-time increment.
The Forge/Armory is to farther West, and reachable in one increment from the dorms only for those with F+ rank speed or those who are willing to be exhausted when they arrive.
‘Exhausted’ means generally 4 posts worth of exhaustion on arrival to the thread.
