[attr="class","RDcontainer"] [attr="class","RDcontent"] ‘Meet me in the Gardenin Club. 3:30 pm. We need to talk.’ [break] [break] If Kishka had been Holly’s boyfriend, or drug-dealer, this would most likely have been a very alarming text she would have received this morning. Holly wouldn’t have replied any further to Kishka’s texts if she had asked follow-up questions. Holly had asked what she needed to ask, she wasn’t going to spell things out for her. Holly wanted to talk to Kishka in-person, and in-person they were going to talk. Just the two of them. And Holly’s plants.[break] [break] The Gardenin’ club had honestly fared poorly in Holly’s absence. It wasn’t so much that the plants didn’t have enough water. No, that wasn’t it. Most of the plants were fruit-bearing plants that could survive fine without a week of water or so. Maybe they would be a little thirsty, but they otherwise would have been fine. The problem was the temperature, or the lack thereof. Someone or something had opened the windows to the clubroom. As the room was a converted standardized room, it had normal windows that could be opened to let in the fresh air. The windows to the very cold outside world had been open for days when the main Gardenin Club members had been away to Rochdale. Very cold air that entered the room, staying there, and doing its thing. Mainly, being bad for plants. Holly didn’t even know if she had done it, Carmim had done it, or someone else had done it. She didn’t know if it had happened by accident, or that someone had deliberately done this just to hurt Holly. [break] [break] Regardless, there was only one plant beyond saving, so the damage could have been worse. [break] [break] There also could have been no damage at all.[break] [break] Isn’t that life? Even a blessing in disguise means that something had to die.[break] [break] Holly was now currently trying to repair that damage to the other plants, letting her aura flow into the different kinds of greenery. She carefully stood in front of each and every plant, touching the stem of the plant and slowly let her own essence transfer to the chilly plant. It was still somewhat too cold in the room, but it was now only a little bit frigid. Not warm enough to be comfortable, not too cold to be unbearable.[break] [break] Kind of like how Holly feels.[break] [break] The room itself, the precious Gardenin Club, had received quite a few upgrades over the last few months since its initial conception. Being the only long-term functional club that Haven currently possessed to Holly’s knowledge, the girl had been given some free reign to make sure that it could function properly. Beyond the funds that she received from the school to purchase equipment and plan activities, Holly’s own side-business of selling herbal produce in the city had brought in the most money to actually have a somewhat acceptable mini-greenhouse inside of a classroom. Professional planters, good soil, and all of the other necessities you would also see in your standard salt-of-the-earth farming operations. [break] [break] Save for the tractor. Holly had asked for one once, and her application was denied. She had plenty of reason to have one, Miss Long! You don’t know how important tractors are to the farming experience! Not that Holly knew, she never had owned a tractor. She just heard that farmers own tractors, so she didn’t want to be left out and not been seen as some fake-farmer.[break] [break] Not that what Holly was doing could be called real farming. Despite her actual knowledge on all matters plant, this little greenhouse would not have been here, nor survive for long, without her semblance fuelling it. Going to Rochdale was almost too long a departure. Holly’s plants needed her for today, so it was why Holly had asked Kishka to come here to talk. Wearing her regular white dress, Holly would be carefully working for close to an hour before the clock would say that it was 3:27 PM. |
