The second email to show up in responses, though a bit more delayed than the first, sent her Scroll off with an outdated jingle. Looking over, she saw it was from a Niraya... Wasn't that one of the more diligent students that took one of her classes? Possibly- it had been some time since she last talked to the faunus, though perhaps now was a better time than any to catch up on some of the other students. With that said, Doctor Haragitanai got to work in preparation for the next counselling session. Quite a bit had been settled into her mind, to the point that she nearly forgot about the appointment time. At the very least she remembered on time. [break] [break]
The infirmary was rather empty at the current time. Doctor Haragitanai tried to work out private times for each counselling session, though walk-ins were inevitable. Most of the time it was something trivial like getting an ice pack or an upset stomach while others seemed like they needed the rest. After the student's response to her email, Doctor Haragitanai immediately scheduled the nearest available slot for the student. As soon as she did, Doctor Haragitanai gathered the essentials: The Scroll tablet, the electronic copy of the student's medical records, and a stylus to be used for hastily written notes. Doctor Haragitanai detailed in the email response that the student could simply announce their arrival and take a seat on the worn bean-bag chair that was visible from an opening between the cloth dividers. [break] [break]
As soon as Niraya sat down, Doctor Haragitanai would glance up from her seat that was situated across from the bean bag chair before nodding. "Good afternoon, Miss Niraya. I hope your break has gone well, what would you like to discuss about? Please, take a seat here and feel free to hold nothing back." [break] [break]
Many times, this usually lead to three outcomes: [break] [break]
1 - The student opens up and talks to her about their feelings [break] [break]
2 - The student bottles it up and actively avoids any form of help [break] [break]
3 - The student lies. [break] [break]
Of course, this isn't to say that she expected any of the three outcomes to occur specifically, but those were the more common outcomes. Not everyone fit in the cookie cutter mold, and that's what these counselling sessions were aimed to do: Give students a place to vent off steam, and also to learn more about them and their personalities.

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
When Niraya sent the reply she sits there on her bed thinking if this was a good idea. the doctor was willing to help those feeling unease over the recent events. She eventually gets a reply signaling the date and time for the meeting. She marked it down and when the day arrived she gets ready. Niraya arrived a little before the scheduled time. She waits a bit by the curtain and when it was finally time she takes a deep breath. "Niraya Huntsmith arriving for the scheduled meeting." She then walks in and sees a beanbag chair to sit in that was across from the doctor.
Niraya sits down sinking quite a bit into the beanbag chair. The doc speaks up asking a pretty obvious question all things considered. Niraya sighs to herself and her attitude shifts. her tail wraps around her and her ears lay flat on her head. "the... ugh... vacation went fine. for the most part. But when I returned all of this happened. Qui'li murders a guy. I knew he was a bit unstable when he uses his semblance... but to actually murder someone. then the town itself gets overrun by grimm. then Mystral also gets attacked. so much happened while I was away having fun." She stops talking there she was unsure if she should go on with what happened after that.

'Distressed about missing out on major events... Possible guilt about recent transpiring events? She seems to have some connection or at least was acquainted with Qiu'li based on her response...' Minor notes that Doctor Haragitanai had written in the margins as she listened to the faunus. Her ears and tails were indicative of her current emotions, which was at least a good way for the Doctor to gauge where to direct the conversation. She was much earlier than she had anticipated, which was fine. Perhaps she was either a punctual student normally, or very eager to get these things off her chest. [break] [break] "Yes, I was aware of Qiu'li. He was a diligent student to say the least during his time here, which would only make sense to stir confusion for many that knew him as to why he acted out. In that sense, I can understand your confusion on it too. While I cannot speculate on it too much, I would suggest taking this chance to think about what it means to know people and those around you... Sometimes the way we speak, act, or think can come from a number of factors, such as personal upbringing, the current situation that we're in, or things that we learn over time. What he did cannot be reasonably justified, but taking the three things into account, we can ask ourselves, what lead to him to do what he did? Frankly, what causes people to do the things that they do?" [break] [break] Doctor Haragitanai cleared her throat as she continued writing in the margins. "As for the incident here, that was also very unfortunate. A lot of things had gone wrong in order to reach this point, and I can understand that you might be feeling some level of regret. 'Why wasn't I here when this was happening?' 'I could have done something about this, or maybe even helped.' 'Maybe if I hadn't left home, there would be a lot less hurt people.' There are a lot of 'what-if' questions that can race through your mind, but what's important to know is that none of this is your fault. These circumstances occurred as a result of a number of things that had to have gone wrong, and they had. You might be thinking that this situation is unfair, or wondering why these terrible things happened to others but not yourself." [break] [break] She shifted from her seat and straightened up her posture a bit. Sitting on an uncomfortable stool did wonders for the back when she was counselling students all day. "With that said, you aren't the only student who might be feeling this way. There are many other who might be feeling this way, and the best advice I can give you is to take a deep breath, step back, and look at the information that you know. Who was responsible for the attack on Haven? What could have lead Qiu'li to attack those civilians?" Doctor Haragitanai clicked her pin once and clicked it again to pace herself. Right, no need to overwhelm her with a ton of information, just the basics. "It is normal during these times to feel sad or guilty about these things. That is how we are as people, but be sure to remind yourself that you are able to handle these heavy feelings, and that you can work through these feelings how you see fit, such as training to let out those feelings." [break] [break] Phew... [break] [break] "Of course, besides learning how to handle your own emotions, another option is finding someone that you'd like to connect with in order to sort out your feelings with them, such as myself. Someone you trust is very important, since you'd be putting yourself in an emotionally vulnerable position, and I appreciate that you'd entrust those worries to me. Is there any current questions that you have or anything else that's been bothering you?

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
Niraya sits there as Doctor Yuki Haragitanai went over the information that was readily available to everyone. This wouldn't be the first time Niraya has heard this. But hearing it from her only made her question those she called a friend. were they to hiding behind a false mask. Holly literally lashed out at Niraya for what reason she still doesn't fully understand. as the dock listed off the common questions, she most likely had been dealing with all day Niraya couldn't help but feel like she was right about a few of them being legit questions she had. Niraya's posture didn't change as the conversation continued as she fights with herself as what she wanted to talk about would most likely get her expelled.
When the dock asked if something else was wrong Niraya feezes in place. she had only moments to make a final call on something. but it was very obvious that it was something that morally scared her. Niraya bits her lip and she mutters out what she wanted. "something... happened. shortly after I was allowed back on the campus to help clean up the damages. I. I found Holly standing outside after she had self-medicated herself. she wasn't exactly in the right frame of mind. she was there... at Rochdale. When I got her attention she turned hostile. not physically... but verbally. it..."
Niraya had to stop for a little bit as tears formed in her eyes. She looks at the doc unsure if she should continue. to let out the grief she feels. to free her of the burden she caries. "It escalated... things were said... and I lashed out. I hit holly with all my might in that one moment of weakness. I should have known she was in need of help. but instead of giving aid I attacked her." Tears stream down Niraya's face. it was clear this was something that ate at her. "I attacked my friend as she just pushed all my buttons. and instead of acting rationally I too lashed out... but physically... I... I could have permanently hurt her. I could have killed her!"

Doctor Haragitanai listened intently as she made additional notes. In an effort to look out for a fellow classmate who didn't agree with her coping mechanisms, it seems that in a verbal dispute, it ended with a physical altercation that resulted in one of them getting injured. The doctor gazed at the notes and looked back up at Niraya. "Miss Platinum, I appreciate that you took the initiative to try and reach out to help Miss Hock. No doubt that there are many ways for people to cope with traumatic experiences, some more healthier than others. I can attest to that myself, being a physician that worked as a field medic." Doctor Haragitanai reached over and held out the box of tissues that she had prepared earlier. Good thing she brought these! [break] [break] "In addition, it appears that you understood what you did was wrong. It can be frustrating to see someone head down a dangerous path, and sometimes the best you can do is warn them, offer your company, or suggest possible resources, like myself. Of course, as friends you would think that you knew them the best, but the fact of the matter is that different people have different ways of handling stress. Sometimes it might be something that you wouldn't have expected, and unfortunately... There's little you can do aside from what I mentioned just now without having to resort to force. It is not up to you to decide how someone wants to go about their lives, but a matter of being a strong enough presence in their lives to influence them towards a brighter path." [break] [break] Doctor Haragitanai looked outside the window briefly to see various students passing back the campus center towards their destination. "It is important that more than Huntsmen and Huntresses, we are also people--people that shoulder their own burdens and have their own individual lives to live. I haven't had Miss Hock come in here, so she is most likely fine. However, if I were you, I would figure out just where you stand with her now, where you want your relationship with Miss Hock to proceed from henceforth, and decide whether or not you're ready to forgive yourself for your actions. Asking for forgiveness from her is one thing, being able to forgive yourself for your actions is an entirely different thing. It may take days, weeks, or even months, but learning how to handle those feelings is what's important." [break] [break] The doctor clicked her pen again as she scribbled another note. It wasn't easy trying to work through survivors guilt AND also physically hurting a student who was trying to overcome her trauma. However, nothing is to be gained from simply condemning her for Niraya's actions either. To facilitate mental and emotional healing, one must learn to pick themselves up and heal themselves before they can restore things with others. [break] [break] Unfortunately, her semblance only heals broken bones, not broken hearts. [break] [break] "I would recommend you spend more time getting to know your classmates. Learn about the things they like, their personalities, their dreams and desires. Life is fleeting, as you can see from recent events. You never know when they'll still be here, nor if what you'll say will be the last thing they remember. If you like, I can schedule a group session between the two of you and facilitate a conversation, but that will also depend on Miss Hock." Doctor Haragitanai flicked her finger across the screen to open a new page for her to continue writing. [break] [break] "How have you been coping with the recent events yourself, Miss Platinum? I understand that you returned to help clean up campus, and frankly, this is usually a time for many students to reevaluate what it means to be a Huntsman or Huntress. Do you feel like your resolve has changed since then?" It wasn't a very important question to note down, but it was good for facilitating conversation. Communication is a two-way street, but also being able to communicate with oneself is equally important. [break] [break]

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
Niraya braced herself. she was expected to get expelled for this. to attack another student after what recently happened. surely Niraya would be in trouble for that. but it didn't come. Doc was speaking to her in a rather gentle voice. see seemed almost thankful that Niraya tried to help Holly. When she was offered the box of tissues Niraya takes a couple and tries to dry up her tears. When Doc told Niraya that understanding what she did was wrong was the first step she needed to take.
Niraya nods when Doc mentions being a strong presence in someone's life to help pull them away from the dark emotions they are feeling. Doc mentions that Niraya had to truely forgive herself before she should be asking for forgiveness. this hit Niraya hard. she had so many questions running through her mind but this one just crushed all the others. could she forgive herself for what she did. was there a way she could live with her actions and still be Holly's friend.
The doc continues to offer healthy tips on how to walk from this session with new ways to improve one's relationship with friends. Niraya nods at this but stayed looking at the floor. When offered to have a private session with Holly Niraya rubs her arm. "I'm sure it will help both of us. but I don't think she will. she doesn't like the infirmary for whatever reason. it was a struggle just to get her to it." Niraya falls silent after that unsure what else should be said.
The doc continues by asking Niraya a question directly. "I...guess I'm doing well. it...it just hurts me to know Qui'li did what he did. he seemed so nice and helpful. but that's not the only thing. cleaning up the damages from the school I could tell it was a devastating battle. and I wasn't here to protect my home town. I know I couldn't predict these events nor could I foresee if my presence would have changed anything. but to know your home was left to burn while your away having fun. it...it makes me feel violated." Niraya takes a deep breath to calm her nerves. "as for my resolve...it was tested when i hurt holly...I just want to show the world that Faunus and humans can co-exist as equals...but...what holly said to me that day. I don't know if it was truly her or the self-medication she did to herself. it...to condemn all faunus for the actions of a select few. its not right. I wasn't even involved in the stupid thing, in fact, I disliked the thought of that war even existing."

It seemed like Niraya was apprehensive about something. [break] [break] As if she was expecting something to happen to her when she admitted to attacking Holly. Perhaps that was what she had noticed earlier. Her Aura had been somewhat depleted, but overdosing on a medication didn't normally do that to someone's Aura. It was usually due to an inflicted damage of some sort. Now that Niraya admitted it to her, the pieces clicked together. At first she thought it was some kind of damage inducing poison caused by the foreign herbs that she had ingested, but thankfully it wasn't the case. "It doesn't have to be in the infirmary, we can always have a session elsewhere if you desire. Though it might be a while if you dawdle too long-" Doctor Haragitanai pushed her hair out from her face as she glanced down at Niraya's profile to update some further information. [break] [break] "I understand it must hurt knowing that someone you thought you knew well had done something bad. It may cause you to start to doubt others that you know. I know I told you to reevaluate where you stand with other people, but I want to warn you against going too far into the extreme of the other direction. Doubting others too much will lead to paranoia, and in doing so, you might start to trust people even less in situations that you may need them the most. You have to find a median between finding the ability to trust in others, but not so that you are unable to think for yourself. Critical thinking is an essential skill that all students possess. You're a capable student, Miss Platinum, and gifted with a power that grants you the ability to do many things. Whether those things are for good, or for evil, that is up to you to decide." [break] [break] Doctor Haragitanai continued to listen to the faunus as she went into detail about how the events had left her feeling violated. Violated was an interesting term to describe the situation, but it made sense- to find out that a place that you considered a safe haven was attacked and destroyed would lead anyone to feel vulnerable. She paused for a moment to reflect on what Niraya had said about her issue with Holly. Although they had touched on it a few days back when she brought Holly into the infirmary, she never quite got the full picture of it. Now that she had told her here, it was starting to make a bit of sense as to why they two entered that spat. [break] [break] "Have you had the chance to ask her about it?" Doctor Haragitanai asked Niraya. "I think a lot of the frustration and distress stems from what your friend, Miss Hock, said in her state of delirium. Keep in mind that she had returned from Rochdale, a place that was previously filled with inhabitants that were intentionally drugged in order to prevent negative energy from drawing in Grimm. Ultimately, the plan fell out and a lot of them died as a result, most likely under her protection. Perhaps more than that, she was also in a distressed state as you were coming back here. With little time to process things, it would make sense that some abrasion would occur. You also said that you don't know if she meant what she said. Isn't that more incentive to get to the bottom of it and find out yourself?" [break] [break] Doctor Haragitanai wrote down a summary of their conversation as well as the talking points she had suggested to Niraya on a piece of paper. It would be useful for the faunus in case she forgets anything. "I would suggest finding a good time to have a chat about that when you both are able to find some time to recover. Perhaps Miss Hock simply needs some time to evaluate her own feelings as well. People don't simply accept their new situations overnight, much the same way that not everyone will simply accept the equality of faunus and humans overnight either. It's a noble belief you have, Miss Platinum. Never let go of those beliefs. Is there anything else that's been bothering you?" [break] [break]

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
Niraya thinks for a bit. "here is fine. it's private." Doc goes into more detail about trusting others to a degree and that she shouldn't believe they are always who they say they are at first. to truly get to know them takes time. "how...how will I know if I'm on the right track...or if I'm even doing it correctly." She seemed a little shaken by the information. could she trust Holly or Kishka? She trusted Qui'li and look at what he did.
When the conversation shifted to Holly Niraya shakes her head. "No, I haven't. I barely worked up the courage to even talk about what happened a few days ago to you. You are right about her being in a bad spot during those events. I wasn't there so I can't even begin to understand what she is going through." Niraya's tail wrapped around her and she hugs the tail. "I'm unsure if I want to find out if she truly hates Faunus or not. I'm scared she might be like all those other people who just pretend to care but bail at the first moment they can." She knew all too well that only a select few would ever truely offer a Faunus a hand. her adoptive father Zeurl and Jack were kind-hearted individuals that saw past the hate and saw Niraya for who she truly was. a scared and alone girl who lost everything.
the chat seemed to be winding down Niraya had a lot to think about. she would need to go to Holly eventually to try and ease her mind about what happened that day. Doc didn't need to tell Niraya about the difficulties of settling into a new life. she had to do it by force as a child. when she was complimented on her ideals that caused Niraya to have a smile on her face. her tail was have wagged a bit but she was still holding onto it. "I don't know if there is anything more at this moment. Thank you, doctor. you have given me much to think about...If something does come up am I free to come to you anytime?"

Doctor Haragitanai nodded. "If that's what you like." Frankly, having a counselling session in a place that wasn't quiet or had access to her things would be a bit troublesome, so at least that was one less thing she had to worry about. That said, Niraya seemed invested in the conversation so that was nice. She also brought up a good point on how to know if she's able to correctly figure out who to trust and who not to trust down the line. "That is something you have to learn as you progress through the curriculum as a Huntress. We are trusted with the lives of many people, and that trust in us not only applies in our abilities, but our judgement too. Miss Platinum, the only way you can tell if you're on the right track is self-reflection. Take the time to write down your thoughts, the people you meet and their personalities, and take the time to reread them at a later date. Doing so, you can monitor your own progress and see for yourself if you think you're on the right path. It would make more sense, since you know yourself best, right?" [break] [break] Doctor Haragitanai continued to listen to Niraya as she listed the circumstances between the two and her worries of being betrayed at the last second. "That's a difficult thing to handle, but nothing will be solved by passively standing by. Like I said, take the chance to talk to her, learn, and reflect. If you're not sure about something, ask. It will save you the constant fear. There are no guarantees when it comes to things like that, but at the very least, getting those answers will provide you peace of mind. I'm sure she would like to speak to you too sometime. If anything else, you learn more about a person the more you spend time with them. Perhaps consider going on missions with her if possible." [break] [break] At the very least, she seemed to be in a better mood based on how her tail reacted. As she concluded with nothing else to report, Doctor Haragitanai removed a copy of the notes and talking points that she had jotted down along with her recommendations and handed them to Niraya. "Of course. My office is open anytime here, though do be mindful of the other students here that are resting. If it's something urgent, you can message me on the Scroll. I wish you good luck on your endeavors with the rest of your time here at Haven. More than ever, we need capable Huntsmen and Huntresses who are willing to fight for the things they believe in." [break] [break] If there was nothing else, Niraya was free to go to do as she pleased. Doctor Haragitanai would wait for her to leave the infirmary before getting up from her spot, but for the time being, the doctor would remain and wait for Niraya to do anything else or saying anything before she continued with her daily routine. Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.

Niraya's demeanor seemed to improve slowly as they talked. Niraya nods when the doc said it was something she had to figure out on her own. He hugs her tail a little tighter upon hearing that. "I guess I could start a diary to help me get started." She sighs to herself this wasn't all that helpful but at least she got a straight forward answer for it. The doctor spoke of breaking the ice between those she now was unsure of to try and better understand them and build better trust. this is something she was willing to do but the nervousness returned.
The Doc ends there session by reassuring Niraya that she was free to talk too. thought messaging her would be preferred since she took care of the sick and injured on a frequent basis. Niraya stands up and lets go of her tail which just droops behind her. her ears were still flat on her head but Niraya's face reflected one who had a lot to think about. Niraya bows slightly to the doctor. "thank you for taking the time to listen to me, and help guide me on the next course of action I should take to overcome the things that trouble me." Niraya sighs to herself as she walks out of the room stopping at the door. "I...I should say I'm sorry for almost smashing your door when Holly was sick." Niraya bows again towards the doctor before closing the door behind her and heads to her dorm room.
She stops at the school store and gets a notebook and writes down her thoughts. "Day 1 of Diary. Today I met with Doctor Yuki Haragitanai. I needed to see her about some things that were bothering me. She was kind enough to set aside some time from her busy schedule to help ease my mind on things. she asked I start writing this to keep track of my progress. Since things have worsened due to the recent attacks and the failure of the huntsmen and huntresses at the town of Rochdale. Holly Hock a good friend of mine tried coping with the failure and the stress at Rochdale by self-medicating to an unhealthy amount." Niraya sighs as she enters her room.
Jixie beeps happily seeing Niraya but could tell something was bugging her and decides to just stay on her charing dock to watch her. Niraya gets comfortable on her bed before continuing her diary. "Holly's mental state wasn't in the best place...neither was mine. I was agitated from hearing of the recent events and being unable to do anything about it because I was enjoying a lovely vacation in Vacuo. Though the trip was fun and enjoyable, upon returning to school and finding out what happened I was hurt emotionally. Qui'li a close friend of mine he taught me many things and we sparred on a couple of occasions. but to find out he murdered someone at Roachdale moments before the Gimm came in. So I wasn't in the best shape to be talking to someone who was drugged up rather heavily. words were exchanged and the way she said them. it hurt me deep down the years of suffering just started to come back."
Niraya had to fight back the tears as she wrote this having been reminded of her years on the streets because her family were ran out of town. "I got angry and lashed out at her. I put everything I had into it. Her aura saved her from most of the harm I inflicted but being a faunus and doing that. The humans would blow it out of proportion. This fact would ruin my goal of having Faunus and Humans be equals in this world. Holly having the shock of me hitting her as brutally as I did come to her senses long enough to apologize. Afterward, I took her to the infirmary and that was the last I have seen her since. She said we were still friends. I just hope its the truth." Niraya closes the book and puts it away in her dresser before laying down on the bed and thinking things over in her head.
