After a few days of being held up in the academy, the young wolf Faunus, at last, made her planned trip into the Wind District of the City of Mistral. This would be her first time getting to wander the street without a time limit she had in the past. The few times she got to visit the city had always been as an escort for the traders for when they needed something for the village. Which didn't leave her a lot of time to see much while she waited for the orders and trucks to be filled. If she was lucky she could catch a movie and a bite to eat, but never much else. Now she had the whole day and she was making her way through the Bazaar with a plan.
It didn't take long for the shop's shouters, employees of the shop fronts she guessed they hired to pull in customers from the street. Alice made it a point to stop and talk to each one that called to her while making a mental note of the ones who seem to avoid her. Making her wonder if it was they thought she didn't match what the shop had to offer or was it the fluffy wolf ears atop her head. Not worrying about it she went about her plan talking to everyone she could, which ended each time rather quickly once they learn she was pretty much broke. Student life wasn't the most profitably after all, but what she did get was information. It was amusing how much people were willing to talk when money was involved or thought it was. Alice had learned of quite a few of the shop was undercutting the competition on prices. Something she might test out on another day as well as what she had been looking for.
With a smile and hop to her step Alice made her way toward the building in mind, Broken Steel Forge. Alice thought it was an odd name for a forge after all didn't you want your steel well not broken? Still, she wasn't one to look too deeply into these things. Names are weird. No, she had other business that needed to be done today. Ideally getting a place to work and maybe some side money, if they were hiring a freelancer. She knew from her own father forge there was always a smaller side task that needed to be done that as annoying as they were needed doing to keep the shop going. Task a freelancer would be happy to do with a bit of pay and access to the forge.
After a short search Alice enters the large building taking a moment to take in the air and a small smile. It had been a long time since the last time she was a place with this, but the smell was almost the same. The warm air with the hint of smoke and burning metal reminding Alice of her childhood playing around her father shop trying to help. Most of the time making a bigger mess in doing so. With happy thoughts in mind, she walked in looking around but seeing no one. "Hmm did I hit lunchtime?" She asked herself, then again it was a forge so she wasn't really expecting receptionists. Most places like this you dealt with the owner or employees first hand without the middleman, something Alice liked much more.
Still didn't help just standing as she looked for any way to get someone's attention before spotting a bell. "Ring-a-ding-ding I guess." She said before tapping the bell a few times with a simple smile. Why was it so fun to hit these dumb bells? Taking a step back she adjusting her bulky white coat now feeling the heat of the place. Dressing in her day off attire of a black sweater, white shorts with black legging she didn't really look the type that would go let alone look for work in a forge. Then again looks were deceiving after, right?

Niraya woke up in the morning with a task in mind. She had received a call from Jack the owner the blacksmith shop Broken Steel Forge. He was going to get getting a large shipment today and needed someone he trusted to run the store for him while he was away. He was taking Tim and Roy with him so Niraya would be by herself for most of the day. They would be in and out of the store all day as he only had the one Atlas large cargo transport bot, but Niraya didn't mind. She starts the day with a nice cold shower.
Once she had her shower she would open up the room window for Jixie her A.I. flying robot to freely move around outside while she was gone. Niraya pets her little display which showed a cat face. "Be a good girl for me today ok. I will be at the Broken Steel Forge helping out Jack." Jixie gives an understanding of beep before flying off to find something to do around the school. Niraya chuckles to herself before getting her equipment on. She wears a skin-tight black under armor suit it helped with the heat of the forge. on top of that, she wears a T-shirt that was just generic and bland and some black shorts. Due to her semblance, the cold never bothered her making it easy to live in this town.
She heads over to the Broken Steel Forge where Jack, Roy, And Tim were waiting. Jack spots Niraya and speaks up. "Thanks for doing this on such short notice. I got a great deal on a large steel shipment."[/b] Niraya waves at everyone. "You're fine not the first time you did this. I will just clean up a little while your away." Jack nods and turns to the others. "Alright, guys let's go." Roy sighs. "I hate doing the heavy lifting." Tim smacked him on the back of the head before turning to Niraya and waved his hands around as he was using sign language. "Take care Niraya."
Niraya waves again as they head off Jack's cargo robot right behind him. It was a quad legged robot with a large box for a body. Simple but very efficient. Niraya walks inside the shop and begins cleaning it up a little. the store was a basic storefront. some small shelves with various forged items on it. Swords, shields, tools, nails, ext. There were a couple suits of armor in the front window with some weapons next to it. The store was kept pretty clean already since it was the storefront of the forge. so after a quick cleaning of just some dirt and some papers needing to be put up.
She goes into the back to clean up the forge area. A small staircase leads down a bit to a dirt floor. It was easier to maintain and very unlikely to catch fire. The various machines were on one side of this lower area space out so there was plenty of room to work with them. There were 3 large forges with anvils in front of them. Niraya gets to work cleaning up the industrial machines as they are the dirtiest thing in the forge aside from the forges themselves. As she was cleaning she hums a little song to herself her tail bobbing to the tempo.
Niraya was in the middle of cleaning up the equipment when she hears the ding. "Oh! someone's here?" She stops what she was doing and makes herself presentable before walking up the short set of stairs to the store section. "Hello! Welcome to the Broken Steel Forge. The owner is away at the moment but I can help you." She walks behind the counter and sees a Wolf Faunus. Niraya ears stood upon her head and her tail swayed a little as she waited for the Wolf Faunus to talk.

Alice was taking her time while looking over the items in the storefront as she waited. It didn't look like they had anything too crazy to show off, but what was on display was very well made. Then again if they had anything of significant value you wouldn't leave out in the open, not that Alice really cared. What she did care about was if someone was here or not as she hadn't heard many of the tell-tell signs of smiting work since coming into the building. She was starting to think maybe it was close for the day or something, but the door hasn't been locked so that was unlikely. As her mind was starting to come up with reasons her ears perked up turning toward the doorway behind the counter. Footsteps!
It seemed there was someone here, after all, however, what she wasn't expecting was the cute fox girl who came to greet her. Did she work here? Maybe they had a receptionist after all. No, that wasn't right for all she knew this girl could work in the back. After all, she was there looking for work and most people might not think she was much of a metal worker either. Flashing on a winning smile Alice greeted the girl as she turns to walk back toward the counter. Her ember eyes studying the girl's face as she did so as she felt like something was off. As if she had met her before somewhere, but it was a face without a name and Alice had always been pretty good at remembering names.
Oh well, I'm sure it will come to me. She thought as she stopped and lean onto the counter toward the girl. "Heeey. So this might be a bit random, but you guys wouldn't happen to be hiring any part-time or freelancer would ya?" She asked in a friendly, but professional tone as she spoke. It wasn't like she needed the work, she was a student after all and most of her essentials were provided by the academy. Sure she didn't have any play money, but something she could help with or care about. Monetary values had never been very high on her list. No this was mainly a place she could hone her skill as well as work on upgrades for Grimm's Bane that she been wanting to try. "I might not look it, but I'm pretty good around a forge. Might even say I was raised around it."

Niraya smiles as she approached the counter. though when she asked about getting a job Niraya was surprised by this. "sadly I can't say anything on that as I'm not the owner. but if your willing to help me in the back I'm cleaning up the forges and the machines while the owner is collecting his materials from the shipyard. do a good enough job I can put in a good word for you." Niraya walks to the back and waits for Alice to join her. "My name is Niraya by the way."
She walks down to the forge area the forges were stone-cold as Niraya was going to clean them. Niraya walks over to the machine she was working on and resumes her cleaning. "so what's your story?" Niraya was trying to start a conversation. Niraya couldn't help but feel like this Faunus was one she met before, but couldn't place where.

As she leans Alice playful tap the countertop as she talked, never losing her smile. Even as she was told the owner was gone she never lost it, however, her ears did sink at the new. She didn't have many days she was willing to take off to come into the city and wasn't sure when the next time would be. She had hoped to talk to someone so she could get an idea for a schedule of some sort. With a sigh, she was about to give her thanks and leave when the girl spoke up. Ears perking up Alice turned back with a smile. "I see. I could do that." Nodding as she started to walk around the counted grinning slightly as she walked. "Not trying to trick me into doing your work are you?" She teased in a playful tone as she walked down the step.
Taking a moment Alice took a deep breath of the air and quickly cough a few times as she waved her hand in front of her nose. "Ahh smell like *cough cough* home." She said mostly to herself as she began looking around the room. Well, aside for the cold air of the room it felt like home Alice thought walking over to the machine to help. "Well, Niraya I'm Alice." She said while looking over and flashing a big smile. "Nice to meet'ca!" Taking a moment she removed her jacket setting it down on the cleanest spot she could find and then joined Niraya.
With that Alice went to work cleaning what she thought she could, leaving most of the tools where they lay. After all, she knew men like their toys where they left them. "My story? Hmm, not much to tell really. I'm going to the Huntsmen academy. I just got in a few weeks ago so mostly taking everything in. I wanted to find a forge to maybe do some work and if they let me work on my weapon. The school nice and all but..." She paused looking over the workshop with a smile. She remembers her father's shop and the feeling she felt making her spear with her own two hands. "There just something about a real forge that a school workshop just can't replace. Ya know?" She asked turning to smile at Niraya.

Niraya chuckles hearing Alice comment about doing her work. When Alice took off her jacket Niraya pointed to coat rack in the corner by the stairs. "that should be something you're looking for." Alice talks about her story and Niraya realized where she was familiar. "Oh your at Haven as well? Nice we can be Huntress buddies as well!"
Once Alice was ready they quickly get work. the various machines were of an older model but that doesn't stop them from being simple to maintain. "This place is the third home for me. My family was kicked from the first home...and atlas took my second home." As Niraya said this her tail would wrap around her waist and her ears go flat on her head. she beings to undo a few bolts clean out the old grease and check for rust. Niraya carefully checks every part before applying new grease and sealing it back up.

Like a light clicking on Alice turn toward Niraya with a smile. "OH!" She exclaimed. "That's where I knew you. Class Green, right?" She asked unsure as her first weeks at the academy had been a bit uneasy. Mostly getting used to living in a place so unlike anything she was used to in her life. "Sorry about that. I'm usually much better with faces." She laughs softly rubbing the back of her head. It was still weird being in a place where she could take a step outside and not know the people around her or see a new person every day. It wasn't like her home village was tiny and isolated from the world, they got their fair share of travelers and whatnot, but there was away from the core she knew would be there every day.
Taking a moment to hang her jacket up on the coat rack before turning back to her task Alice quickly went to work. Checking what she was sure she knew as there were quite a few gears in here that was newer then she was used to. Her father was the old school typed and didn't do too well with "changing with the time." Thankfully her brother was and had learned what their father wouldn't. However, Alice slowed as she listens to Niraya's story her smile fading slightly as she tapped the bolt she was holding. "I see. I heard the story of things in Atlas, but well..." She ponders on her words for a moment, but in the end, she just went forward. "You know how stories are? People like to talk and even more for others to listen."
Taking a moment to finish her work she paused to turn toward Niraya. "Not that I can really talk. This is the farthest and longest I ever been away from my home town. So you could say I'm a bit ignorant of things outside of Mistral." She wanted to make clear she wasn't being rude, but just in the end really didn't know that much of the event as the real weight of the war had never really hit OakLake. At least not nearly as bad as others had a face in their time.

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
After the machines were serviced it was time for the forges. Niraya hands her a wire brush to help clean up the inside of the forges. Niraya stayed silent as their conversation had brought up some painful memories of her family fleeing town she getting separated from them and forced to live on the streets till Zerul found her. then Zerul passing away and Atlas swooping in and taking everything he left for her causing her to live on the streets again. she should be bitter towards the humans but she doesn't see it like that. she sees it for the truth that was there. a small misunderstanding between the races leading to bitter hardships and hatred. she wants to tear down those old prejudices and forge a new world where Faunus and Humans can co-exist.
Niraya crawls into one of the forges and begins scrapping off the crust that has started to form on the inside from the fuel burning. as she cleans sections she examines them to make sure the insulation was still in good condition. "how is that one your working on?" she was trying to start up a conversation again since the silence was bugging him.
