I know you got hate in you. Most do. Trick is to use it, 'stead of it usin' you.
But you know this. Vengeance is a motivator, not the motive. Don't hunt 'em 'cause you been wronged. Hunt 'em 'cause what they did was wrong. There's a world of difference there, kid. One makes you selfish. The other makes you a hero.
And I see a hero in you.

Spinning around, the snake Faunus slashed his way through a Beowolf with a swing of the spear, and held the position for a few moments before he let himself relax. Rocky and barren fields faded away to be replaced by the grey concrete of the training room, and the whine of the holoprojector slowly faded away. The long grey shaft rested against his shoulder as he turned to leave, taking a moment to adjust the spear as he went through the doorway so that it didn't hit the frame above. Through the grey corridor and up the stairway, past the other training rooms and cells, until he was out of the facility proper.
There was a vending machine there, sitting quietly against the wall with nary a care in the world. Argent stuffed his hand into his pocket and pulled out his wallet - punched in the code for a purple colored can, which he pulled out of the slot when it clunked into the bottom with a loud sound. Cracking it open, the snake Faunus took a gulp, and winced at the strong, artificial taste. Still, the purple one was less so than the rest of the line, which was designed to help restore electrolytes and sugars to the body that were lost during activity. Better than water, perhaps, but apparently made by someone who'd never actually tasted an actual fruit in their life.
Stepping over to a nearby bench, Argent set his drink on the armrest before seating himself. Dressed in a grey tank top and long black pants, the better with which to radiate the excess heat his body trapped into the air, the snake Faunus' scaled arms were exposed and easily seen by all nearby. Not that there were many people now, or that he was wary of showing who and what he was in Haven, for that matter. The time for that was past - as it was with a good many other things.
Turning Subtle Calamity over in his hands, Argent contemplated the plain hilt and lack of ornamentation. It still felt wrong in his hands, despite having had ample time to reorient himself to the weapon after the loss of his Ouroboros. As though it belonged to a different Argent, an Argent who hadn't been through what he had. He wasn't often given to flights of fantasy, but here, he couldn't help but wonder what that other him would have done.
Argent shook his head and focused on the present. He needed a new weapon, that much was clear. He still had the plans for Ouroboros, after all, and could make improvements from there. A heavier draw, a sharper edge...
Lost in thought as he was, it was still ingrained within him to be alert to incoming presence - golden eyes flicked upwards when someone approached. It was a new face, and that was enough to draw his attention away from the weapon for a few moments. Argent nodded politely as she approached, watching her carefully.
"Good evening."

Always remember to smile!
❝
Without a word or even a grunt, the shape blade slips through the air before slashing its way deep into the black flesh of the Grimm. A second later using the forward momentum of the attack a young woman rolled forward just as a pair of claws tore through the air where her head had been but a moment ago. Rolling back to her feel she spin to face the beast as she steps forward cropping downward with her spear cracking and spitting the Creep head. With careful footwork she turned her body sideways just as another desperate claw flew past her adamant, missing by mere centimeters. Countering the attack using the butt of her spear to slam it into the creature head knocking it to the ground allowing the woman an easy kill, stabbing the blade deep into its neck with a twist. A second later she, at last, allowed her mind to ease up as the world faded around her as she slowly balanced her breathing. "I still can't believe they have something like this here..." She grumbles to herself at the training room as she spun the spear with a flick as if removing any flit on it.
Alice had thought she was being tricked when they had told her about a holoprojector training room. Just hazing the new girl and honestly she had been expecting it to a degree. What she hadn't been expecting was a room that allowed her to fight Grimm's to her heart content, so long as she was able to book it before others. The normally cheerful smile of the girl had been replaced with a one of deep thought thinking about what this meant for her in the following future as in the past any training against Grimm's she had to well go out and find them. Now she could just come here and fight, fight, fight. So long as they allowed her causing an almost wicked grin to cross her face thinking of this. However, a buzzing sound broke her grin as it was time to give up the room for the day. "Come on! Five more minutes!" She called out to no one as she sighs and started leaving, learning complain did nothing to help the situation.
"Yeah, Yeah. It's all yours." She called out to the student that was taking her place in the room, her cheerful smile back as she gave him a hard slap on the back to fire him up. She didn't see the pain look he gave her as he rubbed his back as she hurried away almost a skip to her step. It had been a fun morning as it was rare she gets to fight so much with Grimm's Bane at one time. As a result, a very happy wolf girl was making her way out of the training hall with a spear resting over her shoulder. Taking a moment she enjoys the feeling of the cold air hitting her as she exits the building as light sweat she had worked up helps cool her. Getting her a few odd looks as while spring was around the corner winter hasn't fully ended yet and she wasn't exactly dressed for the temperature. Going for a simple look she wore a sleeveless black crop-top with a pair of white short and black legging with black running shoes with her hair tied back into a long ponytail.
Since coming to the academy Alice had enjoyed the freedom the dress code allowed the student, at least on her own time, she still wasn't a fan of the uniforms as she disliked the skirts, you win some lose some. Not wanting to leave just yet Alice decided to wander a bit to see more of the area as unlike her semblance training weapon training didn't leave her needing to eat her weight in food. Allowing her time to enjoy the sights a bit more as she aimless walked the grounds. However, something did eventually catch her eye, or more like someone. A young man that had to a Faunus was sitting off along the vending machines. She guessed Faunus because as far as she knew humans didn't have scaled on their bodies. Well, she was pretty sure anyways.
But what caught her eyes was the weapon he was holding in his lap which looked like a spear. A weapon she was starting to see was a bit rarer then she would have thought. So with a very Alice like smile she started her way over toward what she guessed was a snake Faunus with a light hop to her step. It was a good day and she was feeling a bit peppier then normal as she was bit surprised she got a nod and greeting. The guy sort of looked like the whole dark and mysterious type, but that was just judging a book by it clover. Something she knew all too well as everyone thought of her as an airhead. Either way, she returned the nod with her own greeting. "Yooooo!" She said walking up to the vending machines and getting herself a drink. A bottle of water fell and she turned back to the man as she leans on the machines popping it open. "Why the long face? Your weapon owe you money or something?" She said trying to lighten the mode
Flashing a blight smile as her ember eyes met his golden orbs and held. She was never one to shy away from meeting others especially a fellow Faunus as she had never met many outside of her village or family over the years. Her ears twitch playfully in the cold wind as she stood leaning on the machines as she listens wondering if he would take up her offer of lending him an ear. "The names Alice Stribog." Pausing for a moment to take a drink from the bottle. "Sooo lien for your thought?"

"Argent Steele."
He smiled back at her, but it was short lived and fleeting and didn't reach his eyes. The action seemed almost like a reflexive gesture, like a snail retreating into its shell after being poked. Those golden eyes dropped back down to the weapon in his hands, and then shifted to the ground for a brief moment before making their way up to meet Alice's again. Another attempt at a smile was had, and while it still didn't reach his eyes, this one had more success at staying on his face, despite being much smaller and more subtle than its predecessor.
"I wish. But no. Just thinking."
Closing his left hand around the shaft, the snake Faunus pushed the weapon off of his lap and set the butt against the ground, using it as a support to pull himself up and off the bench into a standing position.
"It was a gift from a close friend," he said, looking over the weapon, though only for a few moments before he turned his attention back to her.
"I actually put it into storage some time back. Had someone help forge a new weapon more suited to me. But that one was lost last month when a mission went south, so I'm using this for now until I find or make something better. Doesn't feel right any more, but it's all I've got until then."
Subtle Calamity was a decent weapon even without the sentimental value attached to it, but in the same way that the quality of any mass produced piece couldn't be compared to that of a custom made, handcrafted counterpart, it simply couldn't perform up to the standards he'd gotten used to with Ouroboros. The twin blades were lighter and faster, made from better steel, and were tailored to him in a way that no other weapon could match. The snake Faunus had poured his heart and soul into designing those weapons, even if the actual forging had been done by someone else, and it still ached at him to think that they were still lying there among the ruins of Rochdale, with the rest of the dead.
But perhaps that was for the best. Better to remember Ouroboros not as it had been last - covered in the blood and gore of the desperate animals that had turned on him and the others when it was clear that there was no more room for them on the airship. It wasn't a memory he wanted to revisit anyway, and so he forced his mind back to the present and the wolf Faunus before him.
Argent nodded at the spear hanging over the other's shoulder - unlike Subtle Calamity, it had significantly more bulk and weight and more moving parts to the design, so there was a good chance that there were gun components in there somewhere. That, after all, tended to be the most common secondary form people added to their weapons, giving them ranged capability. It was something that he had considered for the newest incarnation of the weapon, but he had thought better of it. It wasn't something that really needed to be added when he was usually using the bow form anyway, and carrying more ammunition would weigh him down too much to be able to fight effectively. Arrows were a lot lighter, and were reusable as long as he retrieved them after a fight. The same could not be said for bullets, whether they were powered by gunpowder or dust.
"I see you have one of your own. Is that your own design? Or did someone make it for you?"

So Argent Steele was his full name Alice thought to store the info away as she sipped on her water. Thinking back on it now she could remember seeing Argent around before in Green class. He did stand out quite a bit, after all, to be fair. However, she never really had a chance to speak to him until now with the whole settling in and whatnot. So she was more than happy to speak especially since she hadn't really met many Faunus outside of her class. Though to be fair he was in that class, but still!
"Ohh I see." She nodded while placing the top back on the water before pushing off the machines to walk closer. Her fingers quickly dance about as with a spin her spear moved from her shoulder to be used as a walking stick as she moved. Not that she needed it, but it made more sense than just carrying the pole weapon along her shoulders. "I'm sorry to hear that. I know losing something you pour a piece of yourself into sucks. Hurts even." Remembering back to how her first spear she had made herself broke during a fight with a Grimm and how it almost costed her life. Needless to say, she would never make a weapon with a wooden base ever again. No matter how strong the wood might be.
Coming to a stop next to the bench Alice poke the butt of her spear into the ground as she leans forward on it to rest. From here her attention turns from the man to the weapon as she eyed it. It looked well enough from what she could see without putting real judgment into it. Without knowing its balance, weight, and sharpness she could only guess at it, but she could at least tell it wasn't custom make like her own. "Was your other also a spear?" She asked looking back up to him now more curious. The way he talked about it Alice was fairly certain it hadn't been.
"Otherwise it understandable as the spear is known as the peasant weapon after all." Peeking up at the spear tip with a somewhat prideful smirk before turning her gaze back on Argent. "Easy to make easy to use, but a lot harder to master. For people used to swords and stuff using a long poke to fight with can be a bit hmm lets weird." Grinning wide before waving her hand dismissively. "Not that I'm a master by any means." It true back home she was one of the village better fighters, but almost daily drilling for eight years and an aura would do that for a person.
However, a truly happy grin did return to her face as she was asked about her weapon. "This old girl?" Alice asked reaching up to pat the flat side of the blade. "Made her myself. Forge and all. With a little help here and there from my brother." She said with a wink and pinching her fingers together, hinting that it might have been more than a little. At least on the transforming parts. Those had been a bitch to get right to change with it ending with her fingers trapped inside it. "Grimm's Bane. She won't win any beauty contest, but she hasn't let me down yet."
