[attr="class","nikki109"]Being second in command of a fledgling organization that wasn’t worth a damn didn’t mean anything yet, but this was an opportunity to see just how useful that might become in the future. [break][break]
Frankly, she hated wasting time in meetings. People talked and talked and talked, so there was an incentive to make this quick. The incentive was the fact that she heated the room to a nice one hundred and forty degrees Fahrenheit, or sixty degrees Celsius with her semblance before anyone arrived. The temperature would go down every time someone opened the door, but it would take a good while before the heat baked into the room like an oven would come down to anything close to a manageable level for those who were used to the frigid mountains. Most would use their aura to avoid the ill effects of the room, and that was frankly exactly what she was counting on. The heat would burn away at their auras and limit the time they were able to actually stay within the room but was low enough that Knight’s own aura would protect her indefinitely. It also limited attendance to the people who really cared, which was just as well. [break][break]
She had read all of their files – or at least what Nyx would let her see of their files before coming in here. They didn’t have the best team for something like this, frankly, so there would need to be some improvising and some deal making so nobody got pissy and went rogue to ruin the paycheck. There are a couple of different ways this could happen, but that would need to wait until the target was actually selected. There were two possible missions that were on the table, and not a lot of time to snag one before someone else beat them to the punch. She had no idea how Nyx got a hold of these contracts and contacts in the first place, but that also wasn’t her problem at the moment. [break][break]
One of the great things about chalk was that it didn’t melt or anything when exposed to a large amount of heat for an extended period of time, so that was good. The faunus had a whiteboard pulled in and had a few things written down on the board. [break][break]
Job 1: Covert voter suppression in certain voting locations. Prevent public transportation from working, steal ballot boxes, destroy ballots, cause untraceable chaos so people stay home. Pay contingent on a noticeable and negative trend in voting from last election. Pay enough to keep current operations running for four months with no other work, and with bonuses for the correct party winning the election that is bumped to eight months. [break][break]
Job 2: Sabotage of political party. Creating untraceable evidence of fraud to discredit and creating newsworthy situations that news will film and use to paint the party in a negative light. Sending cripples and homeless to get beat up by their security or to get denied voting, etc. Planting evidence on persons or locations undetected to be found later by third parties. Pay contingent on sabotage remaining untraced and picked up by a third-party news agency. Pay is the same as last job if news picks it up and runs for an entire day and doubles for each additional day of coverage. Pay forfeit if organization committing sabotage is caught or the fraud is not pinned on the correct political party. [break][break]
Pay projection takes into account doubling pay of all involved operators for a period of one month following the successful job completion. [break][break]
Job selection based on vote of eligible parties. Operations Lead breaks ties. [break][break]
The benefactors weren’t named, and frankly Knight had no idea who they were. Not that she cared enough to ask, really. The party who won this election was just window dressing because the Revival still possessed a majority and could push through whatever the hell they wanted with a majority vote. She was given two options to present to the other members of the Asche Syndicate and ordered to form a plan of action for whichever one was picked. That was doable, especially because she had Red across town right now getting photos of all the voting areas that she could get a clear visual on. [break][break]
The meeting was deemed open to guests, but invitations were only sent to a select few. The attendance would be limited due to the temperature to those who had aura, so that prevented some of the lower level bickering that would prolong this and make an already annoying meeting unbearable. Nova Astros, Signet, Pickett, Gryphen, and Pyre Varice were all on the list that the faunus was given. She was told that anyone in addition to that was her choice, so she had brought nobody else. [break][break]
Knight was dressed in a light gray outer jacket and pants that were noticeably high quality and durably made with all sorts of zippers and pockets. She wore black tennis shoes with dark pink laces along with a light gray flat cap on her head tilted to the left side that covered both of her ears and color matched her jacket and pants. The ensemble was topped off with gray dress gloves that ensured that if the leather or plastic around her partially melted she wouldn’t get any of that shit on her hand if she brushed it against any of the chairs. Nobody knew shit about this mission, because the first they heard about it was yesterday when she had scheduled this meeting in the first place. All they knew was that there was to be general meeting of the most combat capable of the Syndicate and that they specifically were invited. [break][break]
Looking at the whiteboard in the room would be the first time any of them had interacted with anything concrete relating to any of the missions at all. Information was dispersed on a limited basis, and Knight didn’t even bother to put up who the targeted political parties even were on the board. That information simply wasn’t relevant at this point for any of them, because the job had not been chosen quite yet. Gray eyes flickered to the watch on Knight’s right wrist to confirm that they still had about five minutes to go until the meeting started. If nobody showed up, she would just cast the only vote in the general assembly and pick the option that she wanted after opening the floor to the rest of the organization in a free and open manner that ensured democratic participation. [break][break]
That would be the line of logic she’d use, anyway. If they wanted to bitch about the heat, they were free to fuck off and let those willing to not waste time come out and make the important decisions. Knight had been in the room for about twenty minutes at this point but had an aura strong enough to sit there indefinitely so she wasn’t even breaking a sweat. If it was fine for her and something that she didn’t notice, then she could truthfully say she didn’t see why others would have a problem with having a warm meeting place given that the outside was still frigid cold on account of being on the top of a fucking mountain.
