Appearance: Lilium is unusually tall, generally towering over most people her same age. Though this is probably her most easily noticeable feature her left eye is arguably just as unusual. Due to her left eye’s strange coloration and appearance she often keeps the bangs of her hair swept over it to mask it’s appearance. Her usual outfit includes a pair of black leggings over which she wears a set of knee pads. The white and orange dress she wears is often covered by a cloak. Said cloak is primarily black on the outside with an orange fleece lined interior. She can often be seen carrying a large gun bag that contains her rifle.
Personality: At heart Lilium wants to protect those who can’t protect themselves. Knowing the world is a dangerous and scary place with the creatures of Grimm a constant looming threat she sees it as the duty of those who are strong to do what they can to protect the weak. She tends not to be a very outspoken person, her tone often soft and kind when dealing with people. However when it comes to times where she needs to be serious her tone often changes to be very straightforward and no-nonsense.
There aren’t many things that Lilium truly hates, though she does dislike certain things. Any form of prejudice fall under that list rather firmly. Entitlement is another thing she finds to be unbecoming of anyone and that she tends to have a distaste for. Often times when dealing with these kinds of people she is able to maintain a calm and polite demeanor though her tone often becomes firm and aggressively kind.
When she has free time Lilium can be found doing a variety of things. Often she likes to take time to sit down with a nice cup of tea and listen to classical music. While she is not an avid reader she does enjoy a good book from time to time. She has attempted to pick up knitting like her mother, though eventually fell into the somewhat simpler artform of crocheting. When she has an abundance of time she enjoys making items such as hats or scarves with different patterns and colors. More recently she had picked up baking and tends to enjoy trying out new recipes.
Among friend Lilium is almost stereotypically a mother like figure. Always worrying about others before herself. While it may not make sense to some she enjoys looking after people, or simply doing kind things for them. Going so far as to make food or even bake sweets for those she considers as friends.
In combat Lilium is far more suited to a supporting role, providing long distance support fire for those who engage the grimm at a closer distance. She carried around a set of wireless earbuds that are designed to allow her to hear her surroundings while also listening to music. Biography
History
Lilium was born just outside the city of Vale. She lived in a small cabin in a dense part of the forest with her father, mother, and fraternal twin sister. Her father had been one of the many who fought in the great war, and had transitioned quite well into being a huntsman after the end of the war. He would often take small jobs in order to bring in Lien to support the family, though the bulk of the family’s income came from her mother and the handcrafted blankets and other knitted items she made.
Due to living outside of the city Lilium’s father was often gone eliminating grimm in the area to help protect their house. Despite her father not being around often her mother often stressed that what her father was doing was an important thing. Somewhere along the way this gave Lilium a desire to be like her father, and protect people from the dangers of the world.
Lilium’s twin sister seemed to follow her passion for a short time. As soon as they were both old enough their father began to teach them the very basics. Her sister took rather well to close range and melee styles of combat, where as despite the fact that she was slightly taller Lilium took more naturally to ranged weapons.
As she grew older Lilium’s height became more obvious over her sister and others her age. Though living alone with her family meant she didn’t often see other children. The training she and her sister received began to diverge more as well during this time. While her twin was incredibly skilled with most any kind of melee weapon, Lilium had found that her skills were far more niche in purpose. Long range precision shooting became her focus.
As Lilium’s talents with a rifle began to plateau her father decided to have her go and train under an old friend of his from the war. A man by the name of Gabriel Aetos, while Lilium had never met the man before she had heard her father mention him along with several others that he had served alongside during the war.
Her first impressions of the man were, odd. He was a very quiet person, and incredibly strict with her lessons. Using the basics she had learned from her father he began to take her training down the more specialized path of long range shooting. While she would return home often to see her family still most of Lilium’s time was spent with Gabriel in the small cabin he lived in.
Not only did he teach her how to shoot though, as their location made getting supplies from the store a hassle Lilium was also taught ways of surviving in the wild. How to track animals to hunt for food, which also allowed her to hunt for grimm when need be. Learning how to discern what plants are safe to eat and which are poisonous. How to purify water to ensure that she wouldn’t get sick by drinking directly from a stream.
When she was fourteen years old Lilium went on her first hunt along with her father, her sister and Gabriel. A large pack of grimm had been attacking an area north of a small village and travelers and merchants were scared to travel there with such threats looming.
While her father and sister dealt with the grimm from up close Lilium and Gabriel took longer ranged positions and began to pick off any that strayed from the pack or provided close suport fire when there were too many near either her father or sister. All in all, the battle went rather well, with no one suffering any major injuries during the fight. As things wound down and the grimm had been eliminated the four met up together in a large clearing where most of the fighting had happened.
Just as they did, a loud roaring came from the treeline and an Ursa charged the group. Not having time to run to a safe distance Lilium quickly took her rifle and bore down on the Ursa. Breathing calmly and slowly she took aim and fired. As though they had coordinated it Gabriel had done the same, firing in synchronization with Lilium. The force of being hit with both rounds destroyed the Ursa immediately, though this caused it to explode, the many white spines attached to its back flying off in every direction.
The next thing Lilium remembers was waking up in her bed, bandages on her head covering her left eye. Apparently when the Ursa had exploded one of its spines had managed to hit her directly in the left eye, though luckily for her hadn’t gone deep enough to kill her. While this didn’t affect her ability to shoot at range she did lose a good chunk of her field of view and her depth perception.
For the next three years Lilium continued her training, though missing an eye made things more difficult for her she never let it deter her. She knew well that this world was dangerous and not everyone has the skill to protect others. As her skills increased she was eventually taught the use of a much larger and more powerful weapon than she had used in the past. This large caliber anti material rifle was designed originally as a weapon during the great war to be used against vehicles and other armored targets, however the immense power it could produce was also highly effective against grimm and their natural resilience.
Shortly after her seventeenth birthday Lilium’s father told her and her sister that they would each be meeting with scouters from one of the huntsman academies created after the great war. Apparenly though his and Gabriel's contacts they were able to arrange such a meeting. While Lilium had never expressed interest in anything like that, her sister seemed more than excited to go. Their father assured them that the training they would receive there would be far better than anything that they could learn at home.
What he didn’t tell either of them however was that they would not be scouted for same school. For a reason he refused to tell either of them Lilium was being scouted for Haven Academy in Mistral while her sister would for Shade Academy in Vauco. A week later and Lilium's sister was fully accepted to and left for Shade academy.
A couple of day past before Lilium met with the scouter for Haven. She only spoke with the scouter for a short period of time, the majority of what they wanted to see was her skill. Such a demonstration was easy to give. Despite being slightly reluctant to be sent so far off to go to this school, but she still performed her absolute best. Somewhere along the way she must have managed to impress the scouter as she was accepted surprisingly quickly to the academy.
Before She left Lilium’s father presented her with her own weapon. A large anti material rifle similar to the one she had been training with As it was explained to her, the weapon was a prototype being developed towards the end of the great war, though when the war ended all development on the weapon had stopped. As such the weapon had several quirks that needed to be resolved before it would be viable out to the same ranges as the weapon she had trained on. Her father saw this as a good opportunity to make the weapon truly her own. Though perhaps what surprised her more was the Gift from Gabriel. A cybernetic replacement for her left eye. While it wasn’t top of the line, it served well enough to return the half of her vision that she had lost.
