Few people noticed the underground facility slowly sinking and collapsing over itself before the whole upper floors tattered and fell over it, burying the laboratory forever. Even fewer saw the aura of an inconspicuous lizard girl break, as she promptly gave a tired thumbs up as she left the scene with a calm demeanor.
I was up to a certain captain to decide what to make of that. At the moment, there were more pressing issues to solve. And as much as the police had been unhelpful. Even they weren’t beyond helping evacuate the zone before the imminent collapse of the building. That at least kept them occupied for a while.
The fleeing criminals weren’t so mindful, escaping the ruined building while taking everything they could grab from the remains. From paintings and valuable objects to straight-up money and drugs (of the regular kind) That had been scattered by Carmim’s semblance going into overdrive some minutes prior.
If anything, they didn’t get in the way as the evacuations began. At least some people could be saved, especially when the emergency services arrived at the scene. And when ambulances weren’t enough, medical bullheads came into the scene to take care of the people in the direst conditions.
Soon it became clear that the main structure wouldn’t hold on much longer. The evacuation halted just in time, so the last rescuers could get out of there before the whole thing came crashing down.
Among them was a very worn-out Carmim Clover, being tended by field medic Opal Machias, along with a still-recovering Chloro Smoke.
As it turns out, the dangerous drugs were quite bad for your health. Both Carmim and Chloro needed to go to the hospital for treatment. Many tests were to be taken. And a lot of needles and tubes were to be used. It wasn’t a good time for anyone involved.
And so, without much fanfare or hipe to it. Mukrah’s mansion eventually fell apart. It was going to be a long job cleaning everything up, but someone had to do it.

Days later, when everything had already calmed, and Kishka's main worry was the veritable mountain of paperwork she needed to finish from the mission in Kuchinashi, a firm knock on her office took her out of her work.
She had no meetings programmed for that time of the day. So that was unexpected. And when she went and opened the door, a familiar face was waiting for her.
Old and wrinkly. With a distinctive hairstyle made up of long, dusty feathers. And one arm set on a cast. The man looked at her with an unreadable expression, taking a deep breath before addressing the captain of the golden wings.
-I can still be of use- Said the man, speaking firmly and directly, not taking his eyes off Kishka's own even for a second.
