Hello friends!
The first question that you might be asking yourself, should you find yourself, in this board is 'What the heck is a scenario?'
While there are major site events every few months that the Events Team run, scenarios are a level below that. The intent for this system is to enable people who are not part of the Events Team to DM threads and set up cool things like missions and set pieces for their own personal plots.
Okay, so it's a step below events. How does it work?
You post up a completed template, including who is going to be part of that scenario and an overview of what you want to do. The template can be found at the bottom of this post.
What are the rewards?
If there are four or more people in the thread, as per the experience rules there will be a 10% bonus to all involved.
If the storyteller completes a thread with three or more PCs that do not belong to the storyteller, they will receive a 150% bonus to their XP total at the end of the thread. This bonus does not stack with anything else.
General Guidelines:
1. Do not harass anyone to run scenarios for you. The DM pool is anyone willing to do it, and being a jerk is a great way to ensure that nobody is willing to do it.
2. If it effects the site plot or has drastic implications for the entire site, it generally won't get approved. Lifting up Haven Academy into the sky, for example, is not a thing that can happen. Focus on what you want to accomplish, and find a way to get there that seems reasonable. Staff are willing to work with you to hash out an idea that's close, but really out of the window things like the floating school can't be worked with. Scenarios are not meant to be site-wide changes, they're meant to be a step below that and hold changes and perhaps even legitimate danger for a small group of characters and consequences/repercussions should generally be kept to those characters and smaller scale.
3. Solo scenarios are allowed, but it all must be done in one post. The maximum experience gained in these solo scenarios is 10. This is an active discouragement of people writing with themselves. This is a forum play by post site, and the expectation is that you are here to roleplay with other people.
4. Per the July Update Huntsmen missions are now available for anyone to run with a condition. That condition is that a faculty member or a Sophomore Tier (2350 combat XP) student must be available in order to act as 'team leader' for every mission that is not E-ranked or lower and immediately beside the City of Mistral. Sending kids on suicidal runs is not a thing that Haven condones, so we're not doing it.
5. As an addition to the last point, per the midterm only students who passed the midterms can go on Huntsman missions without a faculty member present. The far-reaching clause is revoked, and any team consisting of trainees who passed the midterm are eligible for E-rank or below Huntsman missions throughout Mistral. D rank requires a Sophomore Tier character or a faculty member.
6. Difficulty is done by tier. Going by the chart here basically the intent is to get a clearer indication of danger level for particular PCs. Each tier can also have a - or a + symbol afterwards, with the former indicating the difficulty is on the low end and a + indicating that it is on the high end. Freshman-, for example, could be loosely defined as a scenario designed for characters with between 725-1200 total XP. Characters an entire tier above the difficulty level generally receive partial or no extra rewards for completing a scenario, and character two tiers above never gain extra experience or EP from completing a scenario that far below their power level. Scenarios above Freshman+ can be ran with staff approval.

Template
Name: The name of the Scenario. The thread title should be the name as well as an [OPEN] tag if the scenario has open signups or [CLOSED] tag if you have a predetermined list of people you want to be part of the group.
Scenario Rank: Freshman+ is the highest allowed at this time.
Scenario Genre (Optional):
Death Enabled: Yes/No
Number of Characters Supported: How many characters can sign up for this Scenario?
Scenario Overview: Give a description of the scenario here. It doesn't need to be lengthy, just a brief overview of what types of things it will contain. If you want some super special surprise, just note that in the overview and talk with the staffer reviewing it privately if you are worried about it effecting the acceptance of the scenario. This is your advertisement to get people to join, so it's up to you to sell your scenario as something worth signing up for and posting in.
Members: A list of people participating in your Scenario that you are expected to update.
