She had spent the past six months touring all over the place, visiting each of the academies to test their faculties. In the meantime, she had been subject to photo shoots, ads, and so many hand shakes. It was unnerving to the blonde, to say the least. As a native of Vacuo, Rose grew up with nothing and learned quickly that the strong took from the weak. There were no nice feelings or handshakes in the brutal desert...there was only win or die.
So when she had been convinced to enlist in Haven, there was a bit of relief to her that it was finally over. She hated the fame and hated the way people looked at her. Rose simply wanted to fight the Grimm and make a difference! Though she couldn't lie...the money was nice. It meant more food than she was used to! Good food no less!
So after settling into her new home and getting somewhat acquainted with her surroundings, Rose made a beeline straight for the cafeteria where she could observe what Haven Academy had to offer. The former bandit filled her plate to the brim with proteins and vegetables, not once looking up to gaze at the other students in line. Swiping her carton of milk, Rose stomped off to find a table that was at least relatively free of people.
The girl wasn't particularly shy or anything, but the blonde didn't feel like gussying up to someone at present. There were so many tables that already had groups talking and laughing and having fun. Rose groaned as she stood there looking like a frightened kitten instead of a ferocious lion...how pathetic. Was she not the former reaver of the Vacuo desert? Well, she'd make her presence known eventually. For now, she sidled over to a corner of the room and sat down to eat quietly, head down and oblivious to any who may be sitting there at the time.
"I think I may have been better off with the desert Grimm..."

Stepping into the cafeteria quite distracted, Améli was carrying several papers on her person, with a mild frustrated tingle to her persona. Entering the cafeteria with official papers was downright ridiculous. There were so many things in here out of her control, which could happen to the paperwork. Yet, this is precisely where Améli had been sent, rather than being shown way to her room to be. Basically, the girl had been trying her best to get a proper dorm room, rather than, essentially, sleeping wherever the teachers deemed it possible. Quite unprofessional. They were so busy with the midterm and all the students transferring in. Absolutely unprofessional. Squaring directly through the cafeteria, Améli had figured that the corner would be the place with the least possible situations which could result in destroyed papers. Then, carefully, placing said papers onto the table and covering them, protecting them, with a plastic envelope, she rose her head to look at the individual already sitting there. Narrowing her eyes for a moment, Améli remembered this female... "Rose, right?... Excuse me, I need these papers in pristine condition. Yet, I also need something to eat... Could you please watch over them for me, for a moment? Thanks." If Rose looked at the papers, they very clearly stated where Améli would have to go to have her room... and coincidentally, it was the same room as the friendly blonde.
Without waiting for an answer, Améli turned around on her high heels, heading directly towards the cafeteria dispensery to get herself something to eat. In a very peculiar fashion, the female weighed the different choices of intake with her eyes, attempting to combine things in a very delicate fashion, designed with her own daily intake in mind. Everything had it's place and time. For now, she simply needed protein and calories while avoiding too many carbs. Focussing mainly on fish, it took roughly seven minutes for Améli to come up with a combination of food which would meet her requirements and desires. Trudging down to her spot, she sat down with a soft sigh, intending to brush the papers aside and underneath the table, hiding them on the chair besides her to keep them safe from any spillage. Unpacking the plastic fork and knife, Améli prepared everything for eating, before lifting her eyes to meet with Rose's.
"Mine thanks. I've yet to receive a room to store important things in, though one has just been assigned to me. Going to find it after eating."

As she was minding her own business, still a bit annoyed from her dealings with the forest, the cafeteria was starting to get more crowded. It made sense, since this was around the time that everyone would be getting out of class. The blonde just hoped that she wouldn't have to deal with anyone cheerfully introducing themselves to her, since her mood was a bit sour.
Yet a stack of papers being set on the table broke her concentration and she jumped slightly, looking up to see...that girl. The one from the midterms that had been nearly mauled by an Ursa. Améli or Amy as Rose had started calling her throughout the forest test. She had refused to give up on finding the girl, even when Rose and Colt had been practically on death's door following a vicious assault from a pack of Beowolves.
Rose was actually happy to see Améli again. The prim and proper way she carried herself made Rose feel like she was in the presence of a princess with how controlled and calm she walked. She very carefully set down the papers on the table and asked for assistance in watching over the papers while she grabbed her own food.
"Right, yeah that's me. Go grab something and I'll make sure the papers are safe."
As the other blonde went off, Rose lifted her body forward to gaze at the transcripts. Wait, was that right? The room number was the same as hers? But...wait, wasn't she told that she would have a room mate? Rose herself had very little in terms of luggage, so the room was more than spacious enough but it caught her by surprise that Améli was the one she would be living with.
Once the girl had returned with a tray of her own and sat down, Rose straightened up when she was addressed.
"Oh and you're Amy right? I mean, Améli and all but I like Amy if that's cool."
Rose coughed into her napkin and took a sip of her carton of milk, leaving a faint milk mustache as she grinned.
"I took a peak at your papers while you were busy and it looks likes we're room mates. Fancy that eh? I'm not the best with people, so bare with me but maybe we can get to know each other better?"
She tore a bit of her meat apart and chewed at it a bit aggressively, downing it with some milk and following up with a spoon full of corn.
"I think we're both transfers, so that's pretty cool. Maybe you could show me how to be all regal and I can help you out with something? I'm a pretty good coach when it comes to endurance I guess, but yeah after food I can show you to where you'll be staying."
Rose folded her hands and rested her chin on them, breathing a sigh of content from her meal. She didn't eat this well back home and what little scraps she got were from a grueling battle. Was it any wonder she wasn't dead yet?
"I can probably help you get settled in as well. I'm quite strong, you know."

Améli, having returned to the table, briefly did a hand gesture while closing her eyes. It seemed that she took a moment, at the very least, to be reminding herself of how fortunate she was. Food on the table, allies by her side, training and improving within this world that was otherwise oppressed by creatures, amalgamations, horror, greed and violence. The quiet moments were rare and far inbetween, usually. It would've seemed to Rose as if the questions and social interaction had been absolutely and entirely ignored, yet once Améli had completed her little momentary lapse of consciousness, and focus returned to her eyes, the other girl would also be receiving her answers. Quietly, with deft precision, Améli began creating the absolute bite of all bites. Getting a bit of everything that went together lined up on the fork, the sapphire blue eyes rose to meet with Rose. "That would be I. Améli Celeste." Quietly, with utmost precision, the girl's lips parted. Teeth bit down over the stack upon the fork, as the fork was pulled back in a slow, almost sensual fashion. Chewing, her eyes veered off and onto Rose, making it clear that she was listening, though preventing the rude awkwardness of staring while eating. Even if Rose seemed to not care one bit for this little gesture, as she herself had dining manners equal to that of a baboon.
Swallowing, a soft breath, then cleaning her lips with a napkin and folding it on the table, it sure took a long time for Améli to get anywhere with her meals. "While I would normally scold you for peering into other individuals private matters, I cannot rightly do that as I left you to protect the papers... I must also say, I find it quite the coincidence that you should be my coming roommate." Beginning anew, the fork began preparations for a secondary bite. All in the same, meticulous repetetive manner that the first had been grafted under. "..I mean I would not be against teaching you some manners. First.." Améli gestured to her own face, trying to indicate the milk mustache. "Keep clean." The second bite entered between her lips, as the girl let out a gentle sigh of contentedness.
Despite how slow and tedious her methods for eating seemed to be, before long, the plate was thinning out. Repeating the same motions, dignified grace, she kept listening to what Rose had to say, while still mostly minding her own business. "I would appreciate going to our room after finishing dinner. Though, I would like to stress that me assisting with you mannerisms and etiquette needs no repayment. I will happily do so for free. Though, to claim it is regal or royal is quite a stretch. It's simply proper manners." The fork and the knife were placed onto the plate, turned in a precise manner to indicate that she was done eating. The plate was spotless clean, as if it had never been in use, barring a couple of crumbs that had escaped from the bread. Folding her hands onto the table, quietly, she was simply waiting for Rose to finish up as well.

Rose kept a close watch over Améli, studying her as she ate. She grew up with the idea that her next meal might not come. She had to move from place to place quick and thus her habit was to eat quick and it certainly was hard to break! To think that these people not only had food to spare, but the luxury of time to enjoy it. Vacuo was far different from this place and it both made the girl uneasy as well as nervous. When was the other shoe going to drop? Would it even?
Améli was careful and very precise with the way she ate, which baffled and intrigued Rose who watched as if it were the most interesting spectacle in the world. Though it may have come off as a bit rude, however, so she averted her gaze as the other blonde mentioned to 'keep clean.' She gasped slightly and snatched up her napkin to wipe away the left over milk above her lip, feeling her cheeks flush a slight red.
"Right...it's not something I deal with. Cut and run has been how I kept alive all this time, but some of these people give me funny looks. It bugs me..."
Her lips trembled for a second, just long enough to let her feeling of loneliness slip, before she shook her head to clear it. It was true that she never knew what it felt like to have friends or even someone she could remotely trust. Kill or be killed was the motto back home, so it was a strange thing to talk so openly to the other students. There was Colt and Kishka who had talked to her and she appreciated what they offered to her...did they consider her a friend? The hell was she thinking?
"Oh, yeah okay. That's fine, I guess. Manners might help me to fit in better, so yeah thank you."
Her eyes narrowed and she felt her teeth grind in her tight lipped mouth. Rose was known to stick people from behind, to laugh in the face of danger, and to scream obscenities at the top of her lungs as her blade clashed with either the claw of a Grimm or the blade of another reaver. Yet here she was in a school looking to make friends. Maybe it was her ability to acclimate, to adapt, that was turning her mood. A way to survive in a new climate of civilization.
She stood up and pushed her chair in once Améli had finished her meal and slipped her plate over the girl's, smiling politely.
"You've got enough stuff there to carry. Let me take your plate. Follow me and I'll show you to our room, alright?"
Rose dropped off the plates near the trash area of the cafeteria and opened the door for Améli, ready to escort the princess to their shared dorm.
"By the by, where is all of your stuff? Dropped off at the room? If it's not too much trouble, I need to clean the place up a little bit. Whoever had it last obviously didn't own a duster or vacuum."
It would normally be a strange concept to think a foul and dirty girl would want a clean living space, but it was a trait she took pride in. She liked her clothes warm and soft, while keeping her room well lit and free of clutter.
