Niraya finishes with Sol's request it was difficult and took some time but she was finally free to catch up on the order. Jack handles the payment before Sol left. Niraya walked down the small set of stairs into the forge area. the ground was below the ground level for the shop section of the building. the ground was compacted dirt and metal fragments from all the smithing. As Niraya walks across the room she passes by Tim a large man covered in various scars of a life he no longer talks about. He waves at Niraya and gives a thumbs up. Next to him was a rather scranny man who was working swiftly on some nails.
Niraya stops at the lonely anvil in the back of the room next to the third forge in the room. this was her work station and she quickly gets to work hammering away at pieces of rounded steel to help with the large order of nails. within a few minutes, the piece of rounded steel was a small pile of nails of rather impressive quality. soon she caught up with Roy who was quickly beginning to panic. Niraya was only a few away from breaking the midpoint on the order after that Roy couldn't best her.
Jack comes into the back and sees Roy overworking. "You're going to catch your death if you don't slow down boy!" Roy stops. "Sorry, sir." Jack nods and begins to tally up the nails as both Roy and Niraya finish the order. Jack was rather quick counting 10 at a time with extreme ease. Once the last nail had been made and tallied Jack writes on the chalkboard the totals. Niraya beat Roy 534 to 466. Niraya takes her to win with a smile and gets to work on the other orders that Tim was slowly falling behind on while Roy and Niraya took care of the large order.
Jack would in front of the building where the shop was when Rose appeared. He would direct her to Niraya who was in the back working hard on an order. Niraya would look up when she was approached and smiles at them. "Greeting I'm Niraya how may this humble blacksmith help you today?" Niraya would cool off the metal she was working on by dropping it into the cooling barrel before putting it away.

It wasn't very often that Rose ventured into the city, let alone for a specific reason. She typically stayed at Haven where she could hone her body and practice her skills for whatever test or catastrophe may lie in wait. Whether it be from the Grimm or from less scrupulous individuals didn't matter to the Vacuo native. Just as long as she could bust some heads. But it was apparent that her weapon, Rebellion, was forged by talented hands that merely lacked certain knowledge.
It was a durable sword to be sure, but the dust component was unstable. Her Father did his best with the materials at his disposal and her Mother did what few could do in the barbaric wasteland of their home. It was obvious though that Rose needed the weapon to be fine tuned and it just so happened that she was in touch with one of her fellow class mates.
During a chat on the Green, Rose spoke with Niraya. She had glimpsed the girl a few times in class and wasn't bothered with her being a Faunus, unlike some folk. Why would she? As long as the girl didn't break Rebellion, then Rose didn't much care if she was an alien! So it was that the blonde made her way down to the Wind District in search of the particular forge where Niraya practiced her craft.
It wasn't hard to find with the smoke and what not, though a man stood outside with a tired look on his face. Rose raised an eyebrow, ready to speak up, when he pointed her into the building. The Faunus gave a proper greeting from the back of the shop and Rose returned it with a curt nod.
"Uh hey, I'm Rose. We have class together. We also talked briefly in chat."
This might actually be a step in the right direction for Rose. She had been looking to expand herself socially and appear less...well threatening. So interacting with Niraya who was not only a fellow Huntress in training, but also a blacksmith was a major advantage. Plus hanging out with her outside of the Academy felt oddly satisfying, very similar to when she went shopping with Kishka and Holly!
The girl unsheathed her weapon from the holster on her back with ease due to her strength and set the point down onto the ground, holding the handle out toward Niraya.
"I was looking to have this metal strengthened. It's made of a strong material, but it could be better. Wanna have a go at it? I should warn you though...it's a legacy of mine."

Niraya smiled at Rose finally having met her properly now. Niraya's tail wagged a bit which showed she was happy. "It's nice to meet you, Rose." Rose pulled out a large blade and put the tip into the ground. Niraya would look it over. it was in a very beautiful condition but the request wasn't a strange one.
"I can do that but I will need to dismantle the weapon and technically break it so I can rebuild the metal's internal structure which will strengthen it." Niraya pulls out her blade and presents it to Rose. "this sword is strong before its folded over a thousand times a unique trait of the katana."
Niraya looks over Rose's blade again. "if I'm strengthening your sword I won't need to fold it a lot but I can add a piece of stronger metal to the spine of the blade during the reforging and folding process which overall will strengthen it." Niraya gives a warm smile to show she was confident this would help her.

A very clear and visible grimace spread menacingly across Rose's face at what Niraya had to say. While it was true that she knew next to nothing about forges or the manipulation of metal, the blonde warrior didn't like the idea of having her companion weapon broken down and dismantled. Niraya's wording of 'breaking' it didn't help the situation either. Something snapped in Rose's mind at the thought of her legacy being torn apart before her very eyes. Her mouth twitched slightly.
Her hand shook in frustration, gripping the handle of her blade so tightly that the hilt was threatening to bend. Her teeth stretched in a furious growl as she stomped toward Niraya and shouted right in her face.
"Are you fucking shitting me!? Breaking my sword? What kind of shitty forge is this? Huh!?"
She lifted her boot and kicked a bucket which was sent sky rocketing across the room and crashing against the wall with a heavy metallic clang! Though after her initial outburst, she recalled her Father mentioning something about 'folding' and she began to calm her meltdown. Her snarl was pulled back before her barbaric fury utterly destroyed the peaceful forge and Rose took in a very deep breath that she exhaled in annoyance.
"So that's the only way to go about it eh? My know-how of metal forgery isn't as up to par as I'd like it to be, so I will take your word for it. As a fellow class mate and as a trusted merchant vendor of the Wind District, I will entrust Rebellion to your supposedly capable hands. I can't stress enough how much this sword means to me, so I will repeat myself. You break it and I will break you."
When Rose let go of her trusted Rebellion, it stood perfectly erect. She had dug it into the ground hard enough to stand on it's own as she crossed her arms with a glare.
"I'll be watching. If it is an issue, then I'll pay extra. Winning a tournament has it's perks...well, that and a few successful raids from Winter Break. I want to study your trade and maybe talk a bit? I want to get to know you better, if that is okay with you."
Rose stalked toward a nearby wall and leaned against it with all of her weight. The heat of the forge opened her pores, causing the blonde to sweat a bit which felt really nice. It was rare that she felt this kind of warmth and it honestly reminded her of the deserts of Vacuo.
"So how does an up and coming Huntress end up as a blacksmith? That seems like an interesting tale to hear and maybe I can trade you a story of my own if you'd like."
A smile may have been on Rosalia's face, but it was more predatory than friendly. She still kept a solid gaze on Niraya that was ever unblinking, shining bright emerald in the glow of the fires.

Niraya did her best to reassure Rose that her weapon was in good hands. but this didn't work as she got hostile very quickly. Niraya had backed up her hand on her blade fearing she was going to be attacked. her outburst got the attention of everyone in the forge. Tim was halfway towards them when Niraya motioned for him to stay back. Roy stayed silent unsure who was at fault. Jack didn't hear the outburst but he heard the bucket being kicked. "Hey easy with the equipment!"
The situation calmed down but Niraya felt messing with the blade was a bad idea. "ok...if I can't work on the blade...then how about a duplicate?" Rose had let go of the sword and Niraya carefully pulled it out of the ground and set it down on a work station. she examines the blade as she waited for a response. Everyone had gone back to forging though they were keeping an eye on Rose.
Rose seemed to walk to chat while Niraya worked she didn't mind as she seemed nice enough...once you get past her claws, and fangs. not physical claws and fangs mind you. Niraya pulls goes over to the metal stockpile and begins examining the various metal grades. should she need to make a new sword from scratch she would need to do a lot of work to get it right the first time.
Niraya returns with some material and begins heating them in the forge. "well. when I was young my family was run out of town. were they killed... I do not know. Was taken in by Zerul. but he passed away. so I have been living on the streets for a while. When Jack was transporting a large supply of metal his Atlas cargo bot broke down and I helped fix it for him. he offered me a job and that is kinda how I started as a blacksmith."
When she was asked if Rose scared her Niraya nods. "A little. but I have a good reason. I'm a Faunus people are more likely to turn against me before even knowing me." Niraya sighs and begins hammering away at some of the metal she pulled out.
