Appearance: Professor Jay carries himself rather neatly and maintains a well-kept appearance. Most usually, he has a rather approachable persona matched with an easygoing smile. The messiest part about him is his dark blue to black spikey hair, which is usually covered by a navy blue fedora. Furthermore, his hat and hair sometimes cover one half of his face. His eyes are slightly almond shaped and both hold dark blue irises. He wears a dark blue suit with black trim and underneath a black turtleneck with some decorative gold emblem visible on his chest. He wears dark brown slacks with dark shoes. His most usual outfit found here.
Jay is only slightly taller than average and overall is a handsome male. He has a rather lean physique with a lightly tanned complexion. He appears to bare no scars on his most visible skin, but the truth is that he hides some noticeable marks of past injuries with his style of long sleeve and covering clothing. Left unseen in most cases as well his the gauntlets he wears on his forearms, often underneath his coat sleeves. The gauntlets are the holders for his set of kunai, the twelve daggers of Zodiac, and their wire dispenser.
Personality: Professor Bleu Jay gives off the impression that he is a rather nice guy.
Funny, caring, and kind to his students, he has his own sense of humor that seems to land quite often and he is very casual in his whole demeanor. There comes to a point, however, that his smiles seem also too teasing and his laughter seems almost arrogant. Most people seem to ignore this fact and he appears as a very genuine teacher who wants the best for his students. It’s not so surprising that quite a few female students especially seem to search for favor in their new and young professor.
He has a few quirks about himself, from being addicted to caffeine to near always being late to his own classes. Though most of his jokes do seem to be a hit, when they don’t go over so well he still finds them funny. He does hold the ability to laugh at himself, but he’s also quite well known to throw a few playful jabs at his students. He is known to favor a an injury on his right shoulder, despite being ambextrous he often uses his left hand for most tasks.
There is a quality about Jay that just seems very muted, very meloncholic. He speaks bluntly and often honestly but to this extent, he is actually a guarded and very private individual. He has never been a teacher before and he’d be the first to say that this wasn’t his first choice in career. It was the The Fall that changed a lot of things, lots of people, including himself. He seems to be a very ‘go with the flow’ type, and actively attempts to keep his students engaged in what some would consider mundane subjects like Algebra and other gen ed courses. He considers them very important and when he was a student he enjoyed those kinds of courses very much. Some might jokingly call him a ‘nerd’ in this regard, but it’s a title he’s come to shyly accept.
There is, however, a distinct difference between his mannerisms when he’s teaching his Grim Self Defense course. Like a switch on and off, Jay suddenly seems to show just why and how he survived so long as a solo freelancing Huntsman. And as a very successful one at that. He is more serious and more strict, and leaves little room for error regarding his students. He considers himself a prime example of when a mission goes wrong as he lost not one, but two members of his Huntsmen team on a botched one so long ago. Only hints of ruthlessness show of the man once called the ‘Blue Jay’s Blight,’ but few crossed him in such a way that they lived to tell the tale.
Regardless of his past, Jay puts his students and their education above all else. He considers himself a relic of that past, despite not being so old quite yet. He believes the focus should be on the new generation, not himself. He still does joke around that he’s becoming a bit old to be a true Huntsmen anyway.

Air Pressure Manipulation
Semblance Type: Manipulation
One Sentence Summary of Semblance: Professor Jay has the ability to control air pressure in ranged area of 25 m around himself.
Description of Semblance: Air Pressure Manipulation is quite literally as it sounds. Jay is able to manipulate the barometric pressure areas around himself. He is able to increase the air pressure at a range of approximately 25 meters to create crushing amounts of force sufficient to break steel. He is also able to create bullets or blasts of pure compressed air to fire at targets and can even act defensively to create walls or cocoons of pure compressed air. The compressed air structures have the ability to break material as hard as stone and are as hard as stone themselves.
Drawbacks of Semblance: Like all semblances, Jay's is not quite 'invisible' despite manipulating qualities of air. The mass of air he wishes to manipulate will first be lit aglow with his dark blue aura.
While in the title itself, his semblance only works in areas with air, so an area that it a total vacuum or without air is his semblance's weak point. He cannot create air with his semblance, but instead only has the ability to manipulate the surrounding air.
Jay is not necessarily 'immune' to his own semblance, but he does take caution to avoid getting caught in it.
He normally avoids creating giant structures as the more air or more power force of air, he manipulates, the more taxing it is on his aura.

The daggers are shaped like traditional kunai with rings at the ends of each where a nearly invisible wire is tied to them and connected to a wire dispenser on his forearm gauntlets. Eight of them, four per arm, are housed in dispenser-like holder gauntlets on his forearms. Each kunai is tied with a wire at the end and Jay is able to manipulate his kunai as he wields them with his wires. The kunai can be ‘charged’ with various effects of dust before he either throws them or wields them in battle. Despite being short weapons, Jay is proficiently skilled in wielding them both in ranged attacks and in melee combat. Two more kunai are hidden in his lower legs, on dispensers that are built into his shoes, one his hidden behind his back and a final one is hidden in his inner coat pocket.

Biography
History
Professor Bleu Jay is an alumnus of Haven Academy and the last surviving member of Team RBYN (Robin). During his time at Haven records indicate that he excelled in hand-to-hand and team combat as well as Grimm tracking and self-defense. Furthermore, in general education courses such as Mathematics and Physics, he scored exceptionally well. Team RBYN was a promising group of young Huntsmen who also won the Vytal Festival of their senior year. Team Robin consisted of himself, leader Robin Reddington, and other students Yancy Canarie, a bird faunus formally from the Menagerie, and Argus native, Natalia Kiwi.
After graduation, Team RBYN continued active work as a successful Huntsmen team for several years until a tragic mission in which members Canarie and Kiwi perished. After that mission, both Reddington and Jay halted Huntsmen activity for over a year. Reddington eventually made way to return to Haven as an Instructor while Jay returned to Huntsmen work as a solo freelancer. In the years following the incident, both Jay and Reddington grew estranged from one another.
As a freelancer, Jay was hired for various missions, from typical Huntsmen missions of defending towns and defeating Grimm, to personal-private work with allegedly dubious employers. Jay, however, has been screened to ensure that past involvements do not interfere with his current position as an instructor at Haven Academy. In regards to the mercenaries for hire, Jay was known as the ‘Blue Jay's Blight’ for his infamous talent of personally and brutally slaughtering any and all Grimm that came his way. As his solo huntsmen's career continued, Jay's known activity became less and less frequent. Just a year before The Fall, Jay was presumed retired from huntsmen activity entirely.
After The Fall, Haven Academy, in need of new faculty, reached out to Jay and inquired if he would be available for a teaching position. He accepted the position, conditionally knowing that he would be taking over Reddington’s former course. - 'Bleu Jay' is quite literally a variant spelling of 'Blue Jay' which is a type of blue bird, hence Jay's color scheming to mostly be blue.
- Jay’s parents divorced when he was young. His mother lives in Vale with her husband and his half-sister. His half-sister, Sky, is a huntress in training who attends Signal Academy. His father is a civilian architect who resides in Argus. It is assumed he is estranged from most of his family.
- Jay lives in a private apartment on campus. Before securing a teaching position at Haven, he had no permanent place of residence.
- Jay is ambidextrous.
- He owns a motorcycle known as the Blue Bullet.
- He and Robin Reddington attended Sanctum in their youth. In the Mistral Tournament of their final year at Sanctum, the final match came down to him versus Reddington. Reddington won the match.
