Rank of Combat Ability: F
Description of Combat Ability: "The body is a vessel, and within the vessel is one's soul. The soul is fragile, weak, and delicate. However, the soul is a fleeting source of energy that gives one life. The soul is precious, and all living beings contain a soul within their vessels; for once the vessel is broken, the soul escapes, and then the vessel is devoid of life. Therefore, one must train their vessel to protect the soul. If the soul is the sword, then the vessel is the shield."

Since his arrival to Haven, Qiu'li has taken these words to heart with his morning training exercises as he pushes his aura to the limit. With each strike, he feels himself becoming tougher. But is the the right path towards true strength?

Name of Combat Ability: Falling Ash I
Rank of Combat Ability: E
Description of Combat Ability: Ceaseless like the ash that falls from the distant mountains, Qiu'li has adopted a distinct style of movement reminiscent of scattered ashes floating towards the ground. Light on his feet, Qiu'li can leap across wide gaps and clear long distances of around 10 to 12 meters. A skill adopted from Master Satotta when Qiu'li trained under him. Strength is not only knowing when to fight, but also when to flee.

Light on his feet, Qiu'li can leap across wide gaps and clear long distances of around 15 to 18 meters. Strength is not only knowing when to fight, but also when to flee. Qiu'li has started to branch out from his master's teachings and adopted his own based on his experiences so far.
Trading 200 XP for Upgrading Weapon Rank. Also changing new weapon type for flavor reasons
Old Weapon ----- Lóngtóu and Panlong
Rank of Weapon(s): F
Description of Weapons(s): Lóngtóu is a two-handed broadsword with 9 rings affixed along the back edge of the sword, which measures about 84 cm from the tip of the sword to the guard. The blade is made of crude forged steel, reminiscent of the rugged mountains and harsh forests of his home while the handle is wrapped in a durable, crimson red cloth. Although the sword is meant to be used for two hands, it can be handled effectively with one hand with the proper technique. The broadsword is based on the Chinese Dao variant that had rings affixed on the back of the blade that made a distinct ringing noise when shaken. The name Lóngtóu translates to the “Dragon’s Head.”
Panlong or “Coiling Serpent” is a 3-section staff comprised of 3 metal staffs, each roughly 65 cm long connected by a metal chain. He can control the rigidity of the staff’s section at will by pulling on the chain, which allows him to each fight with 3 connected staffs or one long staff. When not in use, Qiu'li can fold it parallel to each other and affix them to his waist belt for ease of use.
When in combat, Qiu'li can switch off from Lóngtóu to Panlong, or affix them together to create a glaive (Guandao). When in glaive form, Qiu'li can activate a triggering mechanism that fires Lóngtóu from Panlong with chains affixed to the end of the sword originating from the staff. However, upon firing the blade, the staff cannot be broken into it's 3 section form.
New Weapon --- Hei Tiequán
Rank of Weapon(s): E
Description of Weapons(s): Hei Tiequán is a pair of grey and black metal tonfas that measure along the length of Qiu'li's arms, extending a little over on each side. The handles are wrapped in a crimson red cloth and the short end of the tonfa is tipped with a high density rubber top as per requested by Qiu'li. Since entering Haven Academy, Qiu'li had realized that, more than anything, adaptability is the most important factor when it comes to being a true Huntsman. With the adaptable forms that Hei Tiequán can take when it comes to combat, Qiu'li also relies on it's secondary, more familiar form: It's staff form. Combining the two short ends of the tonfa extends the long end into a 2 meter long bo staff which gives him a significant amount of range and opens a host of new maneuverable techniques that is reminiscent of his unique fighting style.
Exchanging experimental combat ability for utility skill:
Old Combat Skill:
Name of Combat Ability: Shadow Step I (Stealth)
Rank of Combat Ability: F
Description of Combat Ability: Training alone in the mountains means one must be cautious of their surroundings. In an environment where groups mean a higher chance of survival, Qiu'li was drilled into concealing his presence to avoid conflict with said groups. Upon entering Haven, he has continued to pursue this path of concealing his presence by dampening his footsteps, slowing his breathing, and using distraction tools to draw attention away from himself. As long as Qiu'li is not under direct line of sight or under low-light conditions, Qiu'li is less likely to be noticed.

New Combat Skill:
Name of Combat Ability: Dragon's Roar I (Weapon Utility)
Rank of Combat Ability: F
Description of Combat Ability: When left with little but bare materials, one is forced to come up with unique ways to surprise and overcome their opponents. Such is the thought process that Qiu'li had upon creating the Dragon's Roar: A roll of interconnected firecrackers that is held together by a long ignition fuse. It is activated once the fuse is lit through use of a small pair of flint and steel pieces sewn into his gauntlets or through another fire source and the resulting explosion. Keeping it hidden under his sleeves, the tool makes for a good distraction in most cases. The loud explosions of the Dragon's Roar is the primary effect of drawing the attacker's attention. Dust is a luxury reserved for those capable of utilizing it effectively or those who can afford to carry an excess of it. Qiu'li falls under neither of those categories, therefore he does what he does best: Improvise.
Mechanically, Dragon's Roar is a tool that temporarily distracts targets caught within range of it (5 meters) for two post cycles. For the duration of the two post-cycles, enemy accuracy is reduced by one rank.
As written, your 75XP F rank ability could negate a 4000XP S rank ability and there is little to no reason to upgrade it past that point.
The skill needs to be checked against something. It lowers enemy ranged or melee accuracy (pick one) if the enemy (stat here) is F rank or below.
The stat targeted can be marksmanship or martial arts, sure, but it can also be something different. If could be stamina if it brings up smoke and the enemy has to inhale it, or agility if there are a ton of sparks and light that would get all over the enemy's face if they got in too close.
The list of effects here are preapproved in concept.
Fixed new combat skill to fall in line with current parameters.

It is activated once the fuse is lit through use of a small pair of flint and steel pieces sewn into his gauntlets or through another fire source. What results is a bright display of flashing lights and loud, simultaneous explosions. Keeping two rolls per battle that are fastened under his sleeves, the tool makes for a good distraction both inside and out of combat. Name of Combat Ability: Featherfall I [Leap]
Rank of Combat Ability: D
Description of Combat Ability: Like the feathers that dance across the wind and travel great distances, Qiu'li has mastered the movement of both gracefully leaping into the air and also rocketing himself forward with explosive vigor as he takes his next step. Light on his feet, Qiu'li can leap across wide gaps and clear long distances of around 15 to 18 meters. Strength is not only knowing when to fight, but also when to flee. New Ability:
Name of Combat Ability: Wolf-Style: Pounce [Leap]
Rank of Combat Ability: C
Description of Combat Ability: Adopted from the movements of foes like the Beowolves, Qiu'li has branched out and developed a unique style of travel both inside and outside of combat: Standing low to the ground, Qiu'li takes on a stance that seems reminiscent of a wolf. With power, Qiu'li springs forward, reaching his destination in seconds. As a result, Qiu'li can leap across wide gaps and clear long distances of around 25-30 meters. At what point will he become less like man, and more like beast?
