TRP is a post-Great War AU RWBY RP set in Mistral City and Haven Academy with no canons, no rank claims, no maidens, and no god interference. We offer a progression system and site-wide events that change the setting based on player actions.
As Qiu'li had anticipated, his first instinct was to try and go for him with his gun. He made the right call using his zigzag maneuver to avoid the shots and his maneuver put him in the perfect position to give him a good slam to his back. However, he did not anticipate how... easy it was to knock him forward. The raven haired man felt Longtou cut right into him and the impact cracking every bone in the vicinity as he was flung forward before immediately being grabbed by Ruqa and hurled off the train and into the unknown. Qiu'li almost felt bad, but considering that not too long ago his teammates were about to be gassed to death mercilessly and the bandits had no qualm with killing them, the guilt dissipated easily as he turned to face what else was on the train.
As he caught a glimpse of what was awaiting them, he was immediately met with a strong impact that struck his lower abdominal region. Non-fatal, nor did it reduce his Aura to zero, but damn did he feel it as he took a minor step back from the force of the bullet. Now he was pissed. It seemed like Ruqa was in a similar situation as he looked over quickly to see a pained expression run across her face from losing a hand. Now he was double pissed. Finally, his eyes fell on Nikolas who was crumpled up on the train roof gasping for his life as the one standing roughly nine meters away from him had a gun pointed to his head. If his rage could be measured on a scale of one to ten, it would be a twenty. His anger was further illustrated by the beet-red skin that began to pulsate violently and the veins that were throbbing visibly on his temple. Qiu'li let out a deep breath, followed by a big cloud of steam escaping from his mouth as he coiled his body downward.
Without a moments hesitation, Qiu'li looked at Ruqa and nodded as he sprang towards the tall assailant aimed at Nikolas with a mighty leap. They didn't need a exchange of words to know what their intentions were, and he would assist her as needed. As soon as he was within range, Qiu'li would hurl his glaive right at the tall man with the might that Fennu gave him. However, right before Panlong left his hands, Qiu'li would press the trigger, causing Longtou, the ringed broadsword, to fire out from the staff with a screeching roar as it accelerated quickly... Right at the gun that was trained on Nikolas.
Aura is intended to protect the user, and unless their Semblance is intended to include their weapon, it shouldn't be protected at all thus allowing his heavy broadsword to penetrate or heavily damage the gun and into the bandit. On the off-chance that it didn't the impact should throw off his aim significantly enough for Ruqa to take over and tackle him in. In the meantime, Qiu'li would hoist Nikolas over his shoulder and scramble out of range quickly. He was in no condition to fight further, and his priority was getting the white haired bastard out of harm's way. Assuming nothing else wild happened, Qiu'li would get Nikolas to the third train car.

HAVE YOU SEEN HER? HAVE YOU HEARD? THE WAY SHE MOVES, THERE ARE NO WORDS
Well damn. That clearly wasn't as effective as she had anticipated...
Carmim darted back into the confines of the train car before the man got the opportunity to fire back at her. However, she could hear him firing above her, at something else. Huh. She listened closer, getting a feel for what was going on up top. Two pairs of footsteps were quickly approaching from up ahead on the train... And Nik... She heard a thump as her partner dropped to the ground. Oh no, that was bad. That was very bad. Very, very, very bad. She had to save him, there was no other thought in her mind.
Hoping the approaching footsteps weren't from enemy reinforcements, she found herself caught in a dilemma. What could she do to help Nik right now? Shit... Crazy, reckless, fool boy... I swear... If we make it out of t'is, I am going to punch you hard... She shook her head. This wasn't going to be easy. Hell, it was probably the dumbest thing she could do, but dammit, that stupid idiot wasn't going to save himself, and she couldn't count on those people coming to be friendly. For all she knew, everyone else on the train was dead, and she'd have to take down four of these goons to rescue Nik herself.
No pressure...
She darted out back through the back door, and prayed really hard that the guy was distracted by his shooting (which did seem a good sign- maybe those reinforcements were Car Four's team after all...) Pulling her drum's harness tighter, she gripped onto the service ladder, and climbed as quickly and as quietly as she could to the top of the train, hoping he wouldn't hear or see her approach. If he did turn around, she would just slide back down the ladder and retreat into the car.
But if he didn't see her coming up, once she got her feet on top of the train, her plan was simple, and would hopefully be pretty effective. It seemed like he would also be sufficiently distracted, as Carmim caught a glimpse of Ruqa cascading through the hole in the car, presumably with the larger man in tow. With another massive burst of her semblance, she would attempt to launch a big blast of air and sound his way, not necessarily to take him out, but mostly to put him off-balance and rattle the smaller of the two intruders, maybe even deafening him with the direct impact of the blast. Then, as soon as she launched her ranged attack, she would sprint in, screaming a vicious battle cry, closing in the presumably shorter distance between them, and while he presumably recovered from the first attack, she would try with all of her might to smack him off the side of the train, using Storyteller as a brutal heavy wooden club. Aura or not, she imagined taking a thirty pound drum to the ribs couldn't be pleasant for anyone, and with any luck, he'd go down quickly and quietly. From where she stood, she could see that Nik and the other guy were being handled by Car Four, so all her efforts were being concentrated on putting this guy down, as fast as possible. If the first strike with her drum wasn't enough to knock him over, she would try to sling her crystal of ice dust at his trigger-arm at close range, then try again with her drum until it worked.
It was a simple tactic, and a reckless one, but hopefully not as reckless as Nik's failed assault had been. God, it would be hard to top that...

[attr="class","nikki109"] Releasing the blade instead of tossing the sword meant that the strength of the impact was only as strong as the mechanism within the weapon itself… which is to say, insufficient when dealing with anything except for first year level opponents. While it did impact the rifle and prevent the killing blow from aiming true, it was only by a few millimeters. The smaller bandit in the back, however, had a much better shot and due to the fact that Qiu’li both drew closer and the fact that he was uninterrupted for this shot meant that the first bullet fired from that high-powered rifle would shatter Qiu’li’s aura completely as well as instantly deactivate his semblance. [break][break]
Before the larger bandit could do anything, however, Ruqa would fly in and tackle him to the ground. Punches would fly from both sides as a desperate, primal struggle took place as they rolled through the hole in the ceiling and dropped down with force back into the train car. The corrosive gas was fully dissipated at this point, which was good for the bandit because his aura shattered on the impact with the ground. Ruqa, though, was still sitting pretty with fifty percent of her aura reserves left and still possessing the highest percentage on the train. The fall disengaged them, and Ruqa took a second to wipe the sand out of her eyes and offer a surrender proposition… which the bandit took by raising his hands in surrender. [break][break]
”You people are fucking insane. I don’t want to fight you anymore.” he would admit, kneeling still in the sandy interior of the car with his aura freshly broken. Eyes were looking at the ground at this point and shoulders were slumped in defeat. [break][break]
In the battle at the end of the train, things were a bit more of a struggle. While the smaller bandit was preoccupied with the two trainees down the car, Carmim was able to climb up undetected and unleash a semblance barrage that resulted in a direct hit. The guy was staggered a bit and was forced to the edge of the train car again, on the side that would fling him off the car but not off the cliff. This shot would fuck up the aim of his second shot that would have either crippled or killed Qiu’li and instead allowed the trainee to make off with the critically injured Nikolas to relative safety. The fact of the matter was that even without his aura, Qiu’li was more than capable of going much faster than other trainees and navigating the tops of the train cars with more skill than almost anyone else on the mission. [break][break]
Brown aura flexed due to the impact of Carmim’s semblance, but did not shatter just yet. Charging forward, Carmim would both give and receive as the bandit rose his rifle and slammed it across the face of the trainee just as she slammed the drum onto the torso of the bandit. Carmim’s aura was dropped to eighteen percent, but the bandit’s aura was shattered but managed to briefly hold his ground. The burst of ice dust slowing his movements made the second attack a direct hit as well, however, and flung him from the top of the train onto the rocky earth on the side of the train tracks. It wasn’t a likely killing blow, but the ice dust and the aura break would make certain that he wasn’t in any shape to fight in the foreseeable future. [break][break]
With the fresh surrender and the smaller bandit being knocked off the car… well, all the bandits seemed to be neutralized in one way or another at this point – though not without some severe cost in aura and in one case severe bodily injury. For anyone checking their scrolls at this point, the aura levels of the trainees would show as follows: [break][break]
Nobody on the train had less than half of their aura depleted, and half of the trainees had less than a third of their aura remaining. Simply put, it was a good thing that the fighting ended when it did because the majority of the students were in nowhere close to fighting shape at this point, especially with one that desperately needed medical attention. For the moment, at least, the trainees would be able to get their bearings and reassess the situation. They would have a little bit of time to make any minor adjustments to their gear or even to some of the cars that they wanted… or they could just take this opportunity to rest and let someone else deal with the urgent matters and just try to catch their breath. Being violently gassed, shot at, punched, kicked, and having random shit thrown at you was a tiring endeavor and the students had certainly earned at least some sort of reprieve from that sort of stuff – right?
