"Carmim... there were no other people in the building besides us... but..." Berwyn wanted to explain that there were no people in the building and that whatever Carmim had been doing was a wasted effort, what she was now doing was a wasted effort, and that as far as she could say, getting out of bed today had been a waste effort.
But that would have been unnecessary cruel, and as she was stopping with repairing that stupid wall and actually contributing she would leave the speech for later. "Just... help me carry stuff back to the new shelter, alright? Can you handle that?" Hoping against her better judgment, Berwyn stepped outside to be soon met by an unusual sight.
An actual competent person who seemed to know what they were doing.
The limo was nice too.
Hearing that Theia being already up to date with the situation was both somewhat alarming, as well as comforting. Considering what an unmitigated disaster Carmim's involvement was just a few moments ago, this was like a breath of fresh air. The giantess placed down the stuff she was carrying on the ground for a moment before she straightened her back slightly. A pair of red eyes looking back down at the woman after she was done talking.
"One injury of note inflicted in the attack. Female, adult. Caretaker of the children. Lacerations to her knees from a toy though she could still walk. The children are most likely frightened and... maybe hypothermic. They are situated in an abandoned building nearby currently. I can recognize it from inside the car, which is faster. Just go straight from here." Berwyn explained, looking at Carmim as she gave her... response...
Don't mind her Berwyn... she is an idiot. "Take the heaters and stuff inside." Berwyn said to Carmim, before she stepped over towards the limo. If there was nothing preventing her to do so, she wanted to sit next to the driver to provide instructions easily and watch the road. Only when Berwyn was inside the car, did she allow herself to reflect on this situation.
All of the sucked, people who should know better seemed to abandon the care of children to address uncertain potential problems, and someone's head was going to roll for all of this. Still, as far as Berwyn understood the situation there hadn't been any major disaster. About this time there was a faint explosion in the background, causing her to place the option of a major disaster at a maybe. Still, she was not going to abandon her duty to these kids. Speaking of which...
Looking most likely through the rear-view mirror toward the children's savior, Berwyn was... impressed. Not so much about Erytheia's wealth in upon itself... Berwyn knew about that. They had classes together. Even if they weren't close, you talk to your classmates. What she was impressed about was how willing she was to utilize it to help people in need. No, not even that. Seeming to go out of her way to use it to help people. That was... commendable. She came out here with both the foresight and tools to offer aid that didn't involve her just mindlessly hitting things. Being a huntress means that you need to be able to protect people physically, but thinking that one should not use their other assets to help people is just a cop out of responsibility.
Some might say that this blond girl was just privileged and that anyone in her position could do the same without it being a serious financial burden, but do you see any other of those wealthy individuals here now? Offering aid while the situation was still uncertain and dangerous? Sure, Erytheia was most likely safe from harm here with how powerful she was, but she was still here with her boots on the ground. Doing her duties as a huntress, in whatever way she was capable.
"So..." Berwyn said, looking either directly or through the rear view mirror at the blond. "...nice car."
Despite how much adoration the giantess had for Erytheia in her head, her social anxiety of expressing it to someone she didn't knew all that well proved to be a major hindrance. "Do you... drive in it often?" Berwyn honestly stopped with making small chat after that as she just focused again on giving instructions to the driver. Despite being all fine with this aid in her head, acting like her being in a limo didn't impress her to some extent would be a lie. When they arrived back at the impromptu shelter for the kids, Berwyn opened her mouth again. "Chloro is inside. I know here well enough, so just accept what I am going to say. She... cares about these kids and..." How to put this bluntly... "She might have no problem with you throwing your weight around. She considers the kids as her responsibility, it might be best to not mention you alone procured the shelter." Berwyn rubbed her neck, feeling ashamed that she thought she needed to say this...but still believed it to be a possibility. "At least till we got the orphans out of this wreck of a dump and into a proper building. I don't want any Ground District 'we can manage with what we got ourselves' mentality to cause these kids to not get the aid they deserve. Just... trust me on this."
And with that said and hearing Theia's response, Berwyn got out of the limo and entered the building again to explain this new set of events with her second deus ex machina offering aid.
