(He prefers to be called ‘Lu’ anyway). He’s a bit young and is just the kind of simple person who’s only ever lived a simple life. Coming from a place where the net, mobile comms, airships, and most modern technology are more rare luxuries than common occurrences, he can end up being fascinated by the seemingly simple amenities of urban life. Since being at Haven and in the city, he’s gotten more accustomed to using things like scrolls and technology, but really, no one should expect him to be an expert. [break][break] He’s pretty honest but also somewhat muted about most things. If you don’t ask him about anything directly, he likely won’t even speak at all. Some people tend to mistake him for shy, but really, he’s just not very extroverted. In most casual conversations, he might even appear disinterested for the most part. He is primarily polite and doesn't try to be offensive unless someone were to insult him first. But even then, he tends to stay calm and rides out the wave of anger or frustrations instead of letting it get to him. He minds his own business, and that’s all he tries to do, regardless of whatever war and political intrigue seem to be going around him. Most of the stuff just flies over his head, and he doesn’t try to understand it anyway. [break][break] Lumen’s life primarily consists of structure. He likes having a set schedule, planning out his workout and training routines, and normally keeps everything he has very neat and organized. He is more comfortable when making a plan but understands that he must adapt on the fly when in combat or in a situation that doesn’t allow any prep time. [break][break] Perhaps some of his odder quirks are his penchant for liking cute things. Of course, a teenage and rather masculine youth enjoying cute things seems a bit out of place, but it's the softer side of himself that he only sometimes allows other people to see. Fluffy plushies, cute icons, and even keychains can sometimes be spotted on his personal belongings. He's especially fond of cats and other small, endearing animals and mascots. He quietly says that it's because he grew up with two sisters, but the cute aesthetic is also something he genuinely enjoys as well. [break][break] He does, however, have an aversion to moths and other flying insects who are attracted to glowing lights… And due to a small incident in his youth, he also a stigma about piranhas. [break][break] Of course, Lumen realizes that he’s not the strongest or most intelligent guy in the room, and he’s completely okay with that. Better a follower than a leader, Lumen only tries to keep his head down without wanting to draw attention to himself. In the end, he only wants to receive his training, survive it, and try to make a decent enough living for himself as a Huntsman. He’s mostly uncomfortable with trying to wrangle a political identity or ideology, only aiming to try and do the mostly right thing or what feels right at the moment. He likes to think of himself as a good person, and he wants to believe that most people are good people too. There are, however, caveats in life. The world isn't that simple. Good people do bad things, bad people do good things, and sometimes bad people just exist. He mostly just wants to live a life of conflict avoidance or resolution, working on compromise, and not being associated with the quote ‘bigger picture.’ [break][break] In the end, all he would like to do is go back home and work for his family, make some decent money, protect the people he wants to protect, and leave the rest of the world as is. He doesn't wish for a lot, but something like a simple life would be fine. Maybe one day settle down with someone nice, who knows? He's not the type to want to predict the future anyway. [break] [attr="class","lumensubtitle2"]FRIENDSHIPS [break] [attr="class","lumenscroll2"] Lumen is open to friendships, but he more often isn’t the person to initiate that first contact. Even if he does have a quote ‘Team,’ he’s doesn’t go out of his way to grow friendships. He has his family, and he considers himself close to them even when they are far away, but friendships beyond that are vague and hard to quantify. He knows friends should be dependable, trustworthy, people with shared interests and morals, but other than a concept, applying that to his life isn’t a one-to-one scenario. Essentially, as long as you’re nice to him, then he’ll be nice enough to you. He likes to be nice in general and mostly judges people on his specific interaction with them, rather than depending on what he hears about a person. [break][break] He would like to branch out and become get to know people that really, aren't like him. He is rather curious about the world, but often is uncomfortable with exploring different viewpoints of others. He would like to remedy that by meeting other people, yet in the end, he still ends up being rather quiet and often is perceived as shy. [break] [attr="class","lumensubtitle2"]HATESHIPS [break] [attr="class","lumenscroll2"]Lumen tries not to hate people. He grew up in a close-knit community and now wants to believe that most people are inherently good. However, the world is not as simple as he would like, and bad people do exist. He doesn’t forgive easily. In essence, if you do by wrong by him, he likely won’t forget. Another facet is that he is often left confused as to why people do bad things, and to think of reasons why only leaves him more so. Wrestling with complex ideals of morality and justifications of doing wrong things for the supposed right reasons always leaves him vastly unsure. In the end, he simply would deem it as something he just doesn't like but isn't sure if he would classify it as hatred. Lumen can sometimes overthink things and instead vies for a simpler approach that if he is left confused, then he simply doesn't like it. [break] [attr="class","lumensubtitle2"]LOVESHIPS [break] [attr="class","lumenscroll2"]Lumen knows about the idea of love but otherwise hasn’t had much experience in said department. He might’ve had the odd crush once or twice, but other than thinking that someone is ‘cute,’ he’s never had a chance to act upon it. He looks to his parents as a good example of a loving couple he would like to emulate one day, but it isn’t in his priorities of things he would immediately want to work on finding. He supposes that something could happen if he finds a nice person, but he’s also worried about finding someone who would make him happy for the rest of his life and what that means for the other person. In the end, this is the most awkward concept for him to handle and if anyone were to bring it up to him, he would just blush a little and desire to change the subject.
