Holly wandered through the forest, following a river downstream that ran through the woods. She was alone. The girl looked gloom as she made her way over towards a good sitting rock. She climbed on top of it and sat down cross-legged on the flat head near the waterside. Looking out over the stream, she took a moment to pause and take in the forest. It was quite nice if you could forget the rampant infestation of murderous evil beasts that searched for young adults to mercilessly slaughter. She was searching for...well...anything at this point. She had lost it all. The first loss was Niraya, her loyal Shrub-knight. She went off to wherever rabbits go when we aren't looking. The second loss, maybe even greater, was her castle. Fort Shrubbery. It had been the seat of her family since at least 7 am, entrusted to her bloodline by a weird skydiving ritual practiced in this land. It had it all; A floor, a stalk with branches, and leaves. The perfect bush. And now it laid abandoned. She had to relinquish the comfort of a 5 feet high plant after personal trauma made it too awful to reside in. She will never forget the ice torture and the threats she made towards Niraya about eating her within those very leafy walls. At least her ankle had healed enough so that she could walk without shouting vegetable-based insults. It would ruin the element of surprise.
Still, she needed to find something at this point. Hopefully another person that was aligned in the hunting of Grimm. She still needed a few of those if she wanted to pass the test. Not the highest priority, but it would be nice. Often at times she had heard gunshots in the far distance, followed by silence after a while. Others seemed to have more luck. At this point it was more the fear of being the only one not making it that drove her forward. If she was one of the people who needed to ask questions, she would be done by now. Holly patted the rock underneath her before she jumped off. While the steadfast stone might be a dwelling for lesser men, Holly would never be content with it. Never shall there be a more suitable abode than the one she lost.
No reason to look back at the past. Eyes towards the future, Holly.
Her feet were muddy from walking in the riverbank. A tactical choice. Maybe someone would notice the footprints and follow Holly. She still wasn't at full speed, and if someone followed the water as well, they could catch up to her. She considered blowing her whistle to attract attention, but she didn't find it worth the risk. Grimm could understand that it was a man-made whistle, right? Maybe? She should ask someone who was smarter than her if they could know it was a human blowing it or not when she had the chance. For now, Holly was content with keeping her eyes and ears peeled as she continued walking. There were 20-something students in this forest! How hard was it to find another one!
