Description of Combat Ability: Despite not being the greatest physical powerhouse imaginable, through sheer determination and guts Holly is able to keep standing and keep active longer than you would have guessed. Description of Semblance: When Holly touches natural plant-life, she is able to use her semblance to influence it. Activating her semblances causes a magenta glow to appear around the plant she touches. More mundanely, she can make smaller plants she touches to grow fruit or blossom within minutes while it would normally take weeks or months. She has an advanced control in the specific size and attributes of what she grows, making a specific fruit very large or incredibly sweet, for example. For the purpose of combat, she can control grass, vines, trees and other plants as long as she can touch them. For instance, if she stands with her feet on a grassy plain, she can influence the approximate size of a Short Course Swimming Pool (25-30 meters) She can make the grass grow in length, strengthening it to make it as resilient as stone, and then entangle her enemies to restrain their movement by wrapping it around their limbs. If she touches a tree she can make it slam foes with its branches, that are toughened to be as strong as stone. The bigger the plant, the more costly it is for her aura to control.
Drawbacks of Semblance:Overgrowth has two major drawbacks. First, Holly needs plants for it to work. They can be seedlings placed in some earth but loose seeds themselves do not work. Holly also needs to touch the specific plant type she wants to influence. If she stands with her feet on grass, she can only control the grass and not other plants she isn't in contact with. For example, if she was touching one tree she cannot also control the tree next to it unless she can reach it with her hand.

Around Holly's left arm is a coiled a thick-enough green vine that is 10 meters long that Holly uses with her semblance to have something to control even when not in a situation that does not have plants. She mostly uses it as a form of shield, but she can manipulated it in a variety of ways.

Updated Personality Blurb:
Holly Hock is beyond anything a person who listens heavily to her emotional state and acts upon it. When she is happy she will let the whole world know it, and if she is sad she is not afraid to cry into your arms even if you are a stranger. Despite her general attitude being rather upbeat and happy, when there is something that is negatively affecting her state of being, this usually had a very noticeable effect. Beyond this, Holly also seems to very much believe in the good of people, even if a lot of people would not give them a second chance. She believes that even the worst people are deep inside either alone, sad, or in some way unhappy and that this can be changed with love, care, and a friendly face.
Despite growing up rather destitute on an island far away from the Kingdom, Holly had adjusted to modern life relatively well. She is rather handy with her scroll and she adores all types of visual media that she can get her hands on. She does seem to resent that a lot of people are a lot meaner than she is used to, and that they don't like to talk about their emotions like she grew up doing. All the more reason to try even harder to get people to open up and blossom like the pretty flowers they are! Physical contact in the form of hugs is, of course, a fundamental part of this!
She is also a rather hopeless romantic, seeming to be more interested in being a farmer with a couple of kids than being a Huntress. Then again, the next day she seems more bend on becoming a pirate mom, or a secret agent mom. Despite having a lot of energy for different projects and goals, Holly is also rather fickle and gets bored with a certain activity rather easily if not properly motivated. The one thing that she does seem always motivated about is feeding other people. It seems to be one of her most important goals besides her training in the Academy, as more often than not spends more time in the school's Gardenin Club than at the training facilities.

Noting for the record that future upgrades that do not follow the format in the sticky will not be followed. I'm just passing them through anyway because it's more effort on my end to kick it back this time. Changing "She can make the grass grow in length, strengthening it to make it as resilient as stone" to the correct modifier of steel.
1027 + 400 (Newbie EP benefit) = 1427
1427 + 250 (other EP) = 1677
E to C rank semblance upgrade = 425 (D) + 600 (C) XP = 1025 total cost
1677 - 1025 = 652 XP remaining
Two F to E rank upgrades of 200 each is 400XP total.

Costs: 1856 exp - 1250 - 300 = 506 exp

Math incorrect and fixed below, Corr approved an upgrade only to noncom D rank so pushing through. Also adding 150RP for sophomore rank for initial transition to new event currency
Claiming my longevity bonus and converting my two EP on Holly into exp:
New exp total should be: 956 + 400 + 500 (2 EP for 250) = 1856 exp
Costs: 1856 exp - 1250 - 300 = 506 exp
1856 XP - 1250 (C->B rank) = 606
606 - 100 (noncom F->E) = 506
506 - 212 (noncom E->D) = 294
294 XP insufficient to complete the 300 XP from D->C noncombat
With this she becomes a Sophmore in rank:
2550 (B-semblance) + 275 (E Weapon) + 75 (F Martial Arts) + 275 (E Healing) + 75 (F Acrobatics) + 275 (E Stamina) = 3525 Total
Updated Character template with all the changes, There are also some upgrades in it, which are detailed under the new template with the quick math. The template can be copied with all the changes in it, the code at the bottom is every individual change in rank separately with costs.

Description of Weapons(s): Holly has two arm extensions made from stringy vines around her arms that she uses in combat. Simply controlling them enough to keep them on her arms and moving them around costs the girl a negligible amount of aura. Name of Combat Ability: Greensense (Unique Signature) Rank of Combat Ability: F Category: Social/Noncombat Description of Combat Ability: Holly’s ability to sense touch through her plants as an extension of herself. As long as she is connected with a plant, Holly is able to ‘feel’ through it as if she had touched something with gloves on. Heat, cold, and pain can be easily sensed, while details become harder the more precise, they are. This gives her a great sense of perception in her immediate surroundings as long as it concerns touch, as well as a greater sense to shape plant-life by the heightened connection. This ability is limited to the length of a telephone pole (5 to 7 meters).
Name of Ultimate Move: Nature’s Wrath Rank of Ultimate Move: F Category: Combatants/Destruction Description of Combat Ability: Holly’s Ultimate ability allows her to push her semblance to its maximum potential. Without needing to have immediate contact, Holly is able to influence plant life within the length of a small room (5-7 meters). Beyond forgoing the touch-gate requirement, this use of this ability also allows Holly to alter a plant’s natural appearance drastically and swift at the cost of her own well-being. An apple growing thorns, a cactus growing roots and walking, or a tree growing wooden arms and grabbing someone is not out of the question. The durability of the plants is lesser than if Holly would have a direct connection, and is only as strong as wood. Like...most plants are at most.
[div][attr=class,title]Vitals[/div] Primary Drive: Holly’s primary drive is creating a community of people living in the sewers of the Wind District, providing a safe and pleasant home in which you could even raise a family.
Fears: Her deepest fear is rejection, and she will go through great and terrible lengths to ensure that her followers and friends do not abandon her and her vision. Beyond this, she seems to have a fear of going outside of the sewers, snakes, and blood.
Style of Self-Expression: Holly Hock has two modes. On the one hand she is The Caretaker, who acts like a mother would do towards her children. She feeds them, provides them with a home, and gives them love and warmth. When the needs arise, she is the leader of the Sewer Stranglers who has no quarrels with doing everything she can to safeguard the drifters who pledged their loyalty to her, scaring or harming whoever enters the sewers with the intent to hurt them. In a darker twist, she also enforces peace within her own community harshly when the mood strikes her. She can act petty and cruel when someone deserves it in her eyes, mostly when they personally slight her.
Most Important Thing: The one thing that Holly finds the most important is that the love she gives is accepted and returned. When she gives an apple to someone who seems hungry, and he rejects it rudely or with harsh words directed towards her, the girl would not be beyond punishing this man severely and in the open. All the while saying publicly that all of this justified punishment could be avoided if they had simply accepted her kindness and love.
[div][attr=class,title]History Freeform[/div] What good is an elaborate backstory when the person who it applies to has died?
Holly Hocks was a student at Haven Academy, she came from a far away island called Mato-Mato, and she liked plants so much she created a club for them! She sometimes said the wrong things, and was generally weird in the things she did. But her heart was in the right place and she was honestly mostly just a lonely girl trying to find her place in strange world that was far colder and more uncaring than she was used to back home.
She apparently had a troubled relationship with a depressed schizophrenic student and partook in the disastrous rescue expedition to Rochdale. While getting some treatment from staff that helped her hold herself together, over time though, those quirky moments changed into more and more violent and excessive outbursts. Harassing some fellow-students, posting weird political ideas on online fora, and other peculiar behaviour. Still, there wasn’t anything that could have easily be pointed at to predict the destruction she would unleash during the White Nights Festival of 26 AV.
The official details of the event remain vague and contradictory, but what remains consistent in the telling is that a Haven Student named Holly Hock committed an act of terrorism. She was a disgruntled and disillusioned opponent of the Peasant Party and its role in recent governmental policy. She protested the party’s leadership before the attack. She used her semblance to cause major property damage at the festival and assault the unwitting public, some of which succumb from their injuries later in the hospital. In the ensuing struggle bystanders intervened, and Holly Hock was lawfully dispatched. The terrorist was declared death in absentia, and posthumously convicted for her crimes. The charges were terrorism, second-degree murder, assault, misuse of a semblance in a public space, disorderly conduct, and vandalism.
A tale with a beginning, middle, and end.
…
Within the sewers of the Wind District there is a monster, according to a new urban legend on the internet. Anonymous sources claim that police officers, maintenance workers, and truth-seekers have sighted something lurking in that extensive network of pipes. Most accounts keep to witnesses hearing a strange voice, finding peculiar vines in tunnels, and sightings of shapes moving in the shadows. Official reports claim that there are neither Grimm nor people living in the tunnels, and that the public should not believe such fake conspiracy theories posted by delinquents and fearmongers.
While always a criminal offense, all unauthorized access to the sewer system is now expressly forbidden to ensure that youths don’t injure themselves on trying to find this urban myth.
…
Squatter’s Square has been a recent addition to the ailing community of drifters and bums that call the sewers of the Wind District their home. The winding tunnel network has been a home to outcasts who for some reason thought that the Ground District was just a bit too habitable for them. Living in ramshackle dwellings made from waste materials in abandoned tunnels, these hobos eke out a meagre existence plagued with disease, hunger, and other health defects.
While those dwellings still exist, many inhabitants of the sewers found their way to Squatter’s Square. There is food there, and enough to drink, even some medicine and comfort. Someone called The Caretaker seems to run the place. Promises that appealed to many who have nearly nothing. A little bit of sunshine underground.
…
Don’t go to Squatter’s Square. Don’t. They trap people in the wall who speak against Her. The tunnels near it attacked the police. They throw the deceased in a hole that leads straight to hell. They worship a monster who feeds Her followers with one hand, while strangling those who displease Her with the other. The police raids to drive us out were brutal, but at least those cops were honest in that they don’t want us here. Get out of the sewers while you can. Go to the Ground District. Go anywhere other than here. Flee while you still have the option before She or Her followers come for you. They won’t give you that choice. They will choke the life out of you…
