Shortly after they had made it back to the entrance where the class was supposed to rendezvous, Evangeline had released her grip on his hand and quickly ran over to reunite with the other classmates, one of which being a red haired woman. He recalled her... Err, Carmim, was it? Either way, he reported his assignments to the professor in the form of torn pages and completed the tasks. Five fact, and completed with one other person. Despite the sense of accomplishment that he felt in completing the task, Qiu'li couldn't help but feel a bit dissatisfied with how things ended. What was the purpose of this assignment? Why were they assigned these titles that represented the names of flowers? Was there really a goal to be met here other than to test their individual capabilities? Since they had some time to rest and recuperate, Qiu'li took the time to meditate at the training grounds back on campus in order to reflect on the events that had transpired during the midterms. Taking a seat on one of the off-site platforms, Qiu'li lowered his head and closed his eyes to let his senses pick up his surroundings. Right. The midterms. Their purpose... Roses, Orchards, and Dandelions. One had to defeat a number of enemies, another had to learn more about their classmates, and the last was obligated to assist the other two, or at least that was the revealed tasks that some of the other members spoke up about before they were eventually dismissed from the forests. The raven-haired man opened his eyes slowly as he pondered more and decided to start with each one first before moving onto the other.

[break]
Orchids. His own group. It was probably the easiest to start with, since he was in the category himself, and could possibly attribute his own characteristics in order to figure out the intended purpose. Reflecting on the concept, it seemed somewhat simple. Fleeting and withdrawn, the intent was to force those in that category to socialize and learn about others. In the end, they had to complete their tasks with the company of at least one other person as well. However, Qiu'li thought about it deeper. Perhaps it was less about forcing those within the group to open up in order to learn about others, but rather to open their minds and have them acknowledge that there is a lot more beyond their mental scope. In a sense, their mind is a small pond in an island surrounded by an ocean, and by creating that groove in the edge towards the ocean is a gateway towards wisdom. It would make sense, though the raven-haired man felt like he was missing something. Perhaps it was less about acknowledging how little they knew, and more realizing that they had to realize their limits on working alone. Well, perhaps he would come back to it later.
[break]
[break]
Dandelions. Evangeline, Aegle, and Alexandros' group. The more traditional task and most straightforward. Defeat Grimm, and travel in groups of no less than three. On the surface, it seemed like a task made to see if one was capable of being able to simply take down what they would face in the future. Thinking further, Qiu'li thought about what kinds of characteristics that each student placed in there possessed? Did it have something to do with their lacking of abilities? It was possible, but that was the point of the challenge to begin with. Perhaps... Perhaps it had to do with their personalities as well. Weak-minded, or not confident of themselves- that seemed to fit pretty well. In order to overcome their mental obstacles, one had to put themselves in a position where they had to limit the number of people that they could rely on, and ultimately take matters into their own hands. There will be eventually come a time where they have nobody to rely on but themselves, and in order to do so, they need to have the willpower to be able to face the odds and use their heads. Something like that.

Finally, the Roses. People like Colton. Qiu'li frowned a bit at the thought of it, but pushed it aside as even he had something worth learning from. To help others unconditionally, and a greater penalty if even one of them were to skirt their duties. The raven-haired man frowned as it tried to think. This was one of the more difficult ones because he couldn't exactly formulate something that made sense to him. At least, not without sounding redundant or something that he already knew. Forcing oneself to help out of obligation yielded nothing but animosity towards the other party, and there was nothing to gain out of this. No ultimate obstacle to overcome, or any kind sense of fulfillment. Why is it that way? Is it because the Roses are already strong, and that there is no place to go from there? No- but perhaps that might be a clue. Maybe... Could it be that like the Dandelions, there is a great obstacle that prevents them from being able to progress further, but one that they cannot simply brute force their way through? Maybe it's a personal goal, or a motivation that leads them to a currently insurmountable hill, and the only way to overcome it is to learn to rely on others in order to better themselves.

With a slightly satisfied answer, Qiu'li decided to conclude his meditation for the time being. Even if he could figure out what the true intent was behind these tasks, there was no way to confirm whether or not his interpretations were true. In the end, his observations were just that: Interpretations. Just like his encounter with Aegle and Alexandros, what he told them were merely just what he could piece together based on his limited experiences and what came to his mind after some pondering. If it was wrong, then it simply showed just how little he actually knew, and how far away he was from reaching his goal. What did it mean to have true strength? Surely it was more than being stronger than everyone around oneself. It was a multitude of things. Things that Qiu'li had yet to experience. As such, a rekindled sense of motivation flowed through him as he stood back up. Glancing at his left hand, the one that grasped Evangeline's, he acknowledged just how much he had yet to experience.
