Combat & Inventory
Semblance Name Aquatic Defender
Rank of Semblance: E
Semblance Type: Manipulator, Solidification
One Sentence Summary of Semblance: AquaticDefender is a Manipulator/ Solidification Semblance that allows Arno to solidify water into structures such as walls.
Description of Semblance: Arno can utilise water around him to create simple structures out of solidified water in an area around the size of a telephone pole (10-12 M) around him.
Depending on the amount of water, the aura cost will increase.
Drawbacks of Semblance: In dry environments, the water will be almost entirely useless and if heat is applied in excess the structures made will soon dry up. Draining Arno’s moisture is an option to keep the water around or create it if there is no water nearby but doing so will rapidly dehydrate him. Each time the semblance is used, aura will be drained.
Castellan Rampart
Rank of Weapon(s): F
Description of Weapons(s): The Castellan Rampart is Arno’s pride. A weapon Calder developed originally as an artillery piece, at Arno’s request the cannon was removed from its shell and retrofitted into a lance. This lance was originally Arno’s first weapon but after
the modification he may be the only person able to lift it. The cannon itself has a number of shells within a rotating chamber and can be reloaded by opening the chamber and loading the shells manually, though plans have been made for a mechanical loader they still need to be developed. The lance itself was originally rather light but after the modification Bran decided to improve the blade with heavier metal.

Biography
Personality/History Freeform
Born in Atlas to Calder Mach and Aurèle Mach, Arno Mach had a wonderful childhood. His parents loved him dearly and even though his early school days were rather fraught with academic risk and teasing for his large frame he quite enjoyed school work and excelled in physical sports most of all. From his days there he never really understood that his father and mother were both rather famous investors, creating weapons was their job and though they were not rich, they were comfortable enough to offer a gift for every birthday and support his journey to be a hunter. This decision to become a hunter was one made for selfish reasons. Simple and rather self motivated reasons. His adversaries in school were all trying to become hunters themselves. So in a thought process that only Arno could really come up with he decided to become a hunter- to become the best hunter- simply to one up those around him. A childish hah! I’m better now to those calling him stupid or indeed dumb. And like the caring parents they were, Calder and Aurèle supported Bran with this in mind. Fairly certain that like many things the young boy went into with his signature boundless enthusiasm would soon fade from his interest to be replaced by his eternal love of the bedroom stories his father told him. Unfortunately for their wallets, he didn’t. Arno Mach had used his own stubborn childish vow to his advantage, pushing forward by determination alone. He was never the smartest but he soon became the strongest in his early classes. Eventually though the time came for Arno to fulfill his dream. It was his time to go to Atlas Academy. On his first day, his parents congratulated him with warm smiles and proud hugs. Arno had no idea how rigorous the school would be. He wasn’t prepared. The idealist in him wanted so desperately to think he’d be ready, that those cold corridors would become familiar over time and the stares from the cold unemotional peers around him would soon turn into accepting smiles. This never occurred. For four grueling months he trained and tried and failed. A constant cycle of preparing for the inevitable while his parent’s funds slowly drained. Eventually, the cycle reached a breaking point and like a glass pane, Arno shattered. He couldn’t handle it, the extreme stress pushed him far beyond his limits but when that eventually reached a point the limits snapped back.
Arno Mach left Atlas Academy only days before his 19th birthday with his mind in tatters. His parents greeted him with the same warmth they always had. Even though their debt was piling up they were happy he was home. It only really hit Arno what this had cost his parents when he saw the state of their once rather comfortable home. Many of his once familiar rooms were bleak and in disrepair, door frames hang loosely on their hinges and windows once pristine were covered in dirt and dust. It was humbling, really. That his parents were driven into such debt because of his dreams. In his bedroom on that that first night he returned Bran promised his parents something.
“I, Arno Mach promise you that you’ll live comfortably. “
Another childish vow but this one Arno decided he’d follow through. In order to do that, he worked for the wages required to travel to Mistral. He’d go to Haven and make sure that this time he’d keep his vow. Being a hero wasn’t his goal now that had changed when he came home. His goal was for his family to be safe and supported. The testing was a surprise to him, perhaps because he was younger he had been rushed through it without even thinking. The physical trials were almost a breeze to Arno, fighting against such small Grimm? It was certainly an enjoyable experience to fight the things and by the end of it he was standing atop a pile of shells with a triumphant grin. The psychological tests though were rather another issue. He was certain they took concern with his large outbursts of exuberance and his idealism of older stories of knights. Thankfully though, he was sure they’d let him through, given what he’d heard of the situation at Haven. It was apparently dire due to some incident or another. That news only made him more anxious to get in. He wished to help as much as possible.
