Knight |
[attr="class","main"] [attr="class","col left"] [attr="class","col right"] [attr="class","section intro"]Mistral City Resident who then became logistics support for the Faunus War. Then became an active combatant. Fought in Battle of Fort Castle, did a little war crimes as a treat. Then moved to Menagerie for education. Then got kicked out of Menagerie for beating the holy hell out of an Atlas diplomat. Moved to Vacuo, became a feared bounty hunter. Relocating back to Mistral City to work less and get paid more. [attr="class","section"] Friends Colleagues ClientsKnight conducts herself much more as a mercenary with a conscience than any sort of true believer evildoer, because that's what she sees herself as. Everyone has to do some sort of job to have a roof over their head and food in their belly, and just because the faunus was good at fighting does not mean that it defines her any more than a construction worker or a fast food service worker. [break][break]
[attr="class","section"] Enemies Victims RivalsMost enemy declarations will be one-sided, to be frank. Because Knight perceives herself as better than the common criminal in essentially every way, rivalries from that department will always be one sided because the faunus perceives them much in the same way that others may view bugs. A gnat may really and truly swear revenge on a human, but the human doesn't give a shit because it's a gnat. The same, frankly, goes to low level heroic wannabes who put others in danger through their own incompetence. [break][break] The only way a rivalry will ever be two sided is the introduction of personal stakes. If Knight does not care about you and you do not make any meaningful change in her life at all, the category is annoying rather than rival. Lots of people can be under the annoying category, but that category isn't enemies so much as idiots to avoid if possible. [break][break] Knight has a lot of behaviors that would make others make enemies of her, though. For one, she has no problem sitting back and doing nothing as natural selection takes its course unless monetarily incentivized to save someone she doesn't particularly care for. Her lack of being fully invested in the cause of the Asche Syndicate will cause some friction with other members, as they will rightfully see her treating it as a side gig rather than a cause or a serious career. Anyone who interacts with her may very well get rightfully angry that Knight treats what for them is a life-or-death, critically important situation with a casual lack of care.
[attr="class","section"] Future Plots RoadmapI basically designed Knight, like I do with most of my characters, to have constant friction within her own faction. Ideally, I want her teetering at the middle of that line dividing heroism and villainy for the foreseeable future. If I get both sides thinking she thinks she belongs on the other one but also willing to begrudgingly work with her when needed, I have succeeded. Friends and Enemies in all factions would be ideal, frankly, because I definitely want Asche Syndicate orders to create personal conflicts and force Knight to choose how badly to beat down someone she actually finds to be a decent person overall. [break][break] In faction neutral events without orders to the contrary, Knight is very likely to side with the heroes with all else being equal. She absolutely detests people who commit violence for no reason other than pleasure, but might actively obstruct an investigation done to someone she believes was justified in breaking the law. [break][break] I am also very interested in linking together backstory bits with other PCs who may have been in Menagerie after the Faunus War, or people who may have fought with or against a young Knight in the Faunus War itself. Any who have recent (within the past year) living experience in Vacuo may have also heard of or interacted with her in that setting as a bounty hunter as well.
