Lilium dialogue color #f59423 Lilium's current song: Waltz of Flowers
“What? How Did I end up in the quad again!?” Lilium lamented, though mostly to herself. Hanging her head for a moment in defeat she tried to figure out where she went wrong. Supposedly this place was supposed to make sense. Straight lines and squared off hallways, and yet somehow she managed to end up in the quad for the seventh time while trying to find her way anywhere else. The cafeteria? Nope, back at the quad. The dorms? Nope, back at the quad. She wished that this place were built more like the forest, though how that would be accomplished she had no idea.
With a soft groan Lilium looked around and quickly found an unoccupied bench to sit on. This one part of the school felt right to her. While she didn’t immediately recognize the exact species of many of the bushes and trees it were still much closer to home than anything else here. Sitting on the bench she rested her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hands. Sighing as she did she tried to think of a way to get to where she was going. A map would probably help, unfortunately she didn’t have one. Not anymore at least. Somewhere along the way she had managed to lose the thing.
Sighing in defeat she decided to take a quick breather. Pulling out the small metal case that houses her wireless earbuds she put them in and then pulled out her scroll, looking through her music for a moment before choosing a song. Leaning back slightly on the bench she stretched out her legs in front of her as her torso began to sway slightly back and forth. Looking at the trees and surrounding foliage she could almost imagine she wasn’t surrounded by buildings.
The smell was better here too. She didn’t understand how people could just go about and not notice the smell. It was just… not right. The air wasn’t clean. Not in some metaphorical sense, it quite literally could smell like rotting food and spoiled fruits from time to time. Something about having plants around did something to the air, made it not only cleaner but more fragrant. Not in some overpowering way like those strange perfumes she had picked up the scent of on several women. But in a more subtle and graceful way.
Tilting her head back Lilium looked up at the sky, feeling the cool winter breeze as it moved the trees around her. Letting off a warm contented sigh she continued to rock from side to side in tune with the music being played through her earbuds. For perhaps the first time since she had arrived her she was starting to feel a bit more relaxed. Suddenly moving a world away to live in such an unfamiliar place had been more stressful than she originally would have liked to admit. But right now she was able to put her worries on hold, at least temporarily.

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.

Niraya was tired from her sparring match. and a little wounded. her aura had regained its strength as she sat on the bus back to the academy. She was taking up the whole back of the bus but it wasn't very full and when people saw her treating her ankle they left her alone. She uses her semblance to chill her ankle to numb the pain before she bandaged it up. The trip took a while so she took a small nap waking up when the bus driver called out to her. She gets up and says thanks to the driver before disembarking. Her ankle was feeling better since she let it rest a bit.
She heads into the academy and gets a quick snack. She walks around campus as she slowly enjoyed her snack just walking around aimlessly. She notices a woman every now and then and was curious as she seemed confused every time they crossed paths. She didn't think much of it. She stops in her temp room to clean up her gear and fix her clothes a bit from the slight beating she took. as she sits there cleaning her blade she hears someone shout just outside the window. Look out at who was shouting she spots the woman from earlier.
She puts away her stuff before heading outside curious to what the issue was. When she walks outside she spots the woman sitting on a bench nearby. She walks over to her and smiles at her. "Hi there. ugh... I heard you screaming about being at the quad again. did you not look at the map on your scroll?" Her head tilts a bit as she looks at the scroll her ears perked up waiting for a response not realizing the woman had earbuds in and probably couldn't hear her.
Having lost on his third round in the tournament, Qiu'li was quite sore with himself. Though it seemed like he was scouted shortly afterwards and invited to attend Haven Academy. Huh. It seemed like his strength and skill was recognized, despite losing partway through. Although it was a bittersweet moment, he was determined to strive towards his idea of "strength."
Whatever that was, at least. He gazed up at the Academy walls and couldn't help but stare in awe. Qiu'li could never get over the size of these buildings, coming from a small village in Forever Fall at least. He rubbed his crimson sash wrapped around his waist as he began to wander about. Right, after the tournament he had't had the chance to meet up with any of the familiar faces that he had previously met at Argus. He wondered if they were enrolled here as well. Not that it mattered to him much since he was used to solidarity... but it'd be nice to see a familiar face here. As he continued to wander... He noticed that the scenery remained the same for the most part. Huh.
Qiu'li continued to take in the surroundings, seeing many of the students walk about as well. Some he had seen at the tournament, others that were complete strangers. Their equipment was in much better condition than his at the very least, or seemed much more sophisticated. He began to wonder if it was worthwhile to gain new weapons, though that'd be something he would have to consider at a later time. It didn't seem like the scenery was changing all that much, so he opted for a much better view. With a running start, Qiu'li relied on his Acrobatic prowess to hop onto nearby trees and leap towards the Academy walls. He got a tight grip, and began running upwards, using the crevices in the wall, window frames, and whatever else he could find to get a good grip as he made his way up.
As Qiu'li ascended upward, he started to get a better view of the Academy from a lateral perspective. He could see farther away and got a good look at the Cloud district from there. The sight of distant mountains was a welcoming one. The clouds that obscured the other district below was massive. He wondered what it would be like to be inside a cloud, though that was a thought for another day. Turning inward, Qiu'li began to explore the Academy from above, taking note of where the facilities were. Though that didn't stop him from garnering the attention of a few students who noticed him on the rooftops.
Eventually he found himself staring over the quad once again. Huh. It seemed to be in the center of the Academy, so it wasn't that much of a surprise. For now he decided to take a break from exploring and sat down on the edge of the rooftops, legs dangling over the edge as he stretched a bit. Looking down, he stared at the various students until he he heard a yell of frustration and his eyes darted around to find the source. He then noticed one student that stood out in particular. Wait- he recognized her. There was no mistaking that height which towered over even him. It was the one he and Flower saved back in Argus. Though he was bad with names... He tried to recall if he got her name or not. Though it probably didn't matter. If she was here, chances were they would meet again. Though he was curious about what he stuck in her ears. Was it some kind of weapon? Well, guess he could find out.
Descending down the building, he began to approach her until he noticed a second student approaching her. It was a fox Faunus- wait that was Niraya! A sense of excitement filled him as he now recognized two students. He continued to approach them and stopped. Wait- what does he say in this situation? Shit. Qiu'li did not think this far ahead. Well, since he was already here, he hoped the others would recognize him without having to say much. Therefore, he said nothing initially as he stood there staring at them.
Except it looked less like staring and more like vehement glaring and heavy breathing. He did just scale an entire building after all. Shit. He should probably say something before they get creeped out. Say something damnit. He began to mumble a bit before his eyes darted downward and spoke in a low, gruff voice.
'Good.. See you again." He said to the both of them as he made a feeble attempt at a friendly smile.

Rocking from side to side still Lilium almost wanted to stay here for a while. Unfortunately she did have to find her way around here at some point. Most of her stuff had been shipped off to the school separately so her clothing and other effects were in her room at the moment. Which she still couldn't figure out where the dorms were. If she could at least get a map then this would be so much easier.
Maybe just a few more minutes to relax though. Classes had yet to officially start so it wasn’t like she had anywhere to be with a sense of incredibly urgency. Besides, even with the cool air being outside somewhere with a visage of nature around was better than just sitting cooped up in a room. Which did make her wonder if she would be allowed a few small potted plants. Something to spruce up the room, make it feel a bit more like home.
With her focus less on her surroundings and her head tilted back to gaze at the sky Lilium didn’t notice the fanus girl walk up to her until hearing her voice. Bringing her view down she first saw the large ears that sat atop the girl’s head. How anyone could discriminate against something so cute she would never understand. “I am afraid I lost my map,” Lilium began while reaching up to take out her earbuds, having heard the fanus girl’s words perfectly, “unfortunately my scroll is an older model and apparently no one here has anything compatible with it. And I dropped the physical map they gave me.”
Out of the corner of her eye Lilium spotted a familiar face. He still had the same upset appearing expression as the last time they had encountered one another. Though considering he had helped her out it wasn’t a far stretch to say he simply had a mean looking face. However she had to stop herself from laugh when he made an attempt at some other facial expression. Whatever he was trying to do though he wasn’t doing a very good job of it. It was kind of cute how he seemed to fumble over his words before finally speaking.
“Hi. It’s good to see you again as well. And again, thank you for your help earlier. I had never dealt with a situation like that before. Without you and that short girl I’m not sure what I would have done” Lilium said with a soft smile across her face. The turning to the fanus girl who had also approached her she realized that no proper introductions had been made between the two. “It seems I forgot to introduce myself. I’m Lilium Celadon. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I appreciate the concern about my being lost, and if it wouldn’t be too much trouble I could use some assistance navigating this place. I don’t understand how they can build this school to be so confusing.”

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.

Niraya's ears perked up when the woman spoke. She had lost her map but her phone wasn't up to snuff with what's needed. that was odd as she got a new scroll just for enrolling. why did she get a defective model? Niraya looks at the scroll now even more curious. It's at that moment she sensed someone next to her. She turns and jumps a bit. "AH!...Qiu'li don't do that! nearly gave me a heart attack." She takes a deep breath and calms down.
She looks back at the woman as she started to introduce herself. "It nice to meet you Lilium. I think I can help you with that map problem...unless you want to do things a different way?" She wasn't going to force anything upon her since they just met, but she was going to help her out if she wanted it. She looks back over to Qiu'li unsure why he was around. last time they met he wanted to bash her skull in while sparring.
As he was about to say something, Niraya jumped at his presence as she exclaimed that he almost gave her a heart attack. His faced turned that into a look of slight concern. How could someone give someone else stop a heart by merely existing? Qiu'li was certain that he frightened her, but to stop a heart? Huh. He would need to look into this later. Though he still nodded and attempted a friendly wave.
Lilium Celadon. Qiu'li would remember that name as he studied her face and noted the mechanical-looking eye. He didn't understand complex structures very well, both in terms of weapons and tools. He also couldn't figure out a way to ask about it either. Qiu'li decided not to pursue further and merely nodded when she expressed her thanks for the assistance that he provided.
Ah, so she was lost for the most part and didn't know her way around campus. To be frank, Qiu'li didn't know much about it either until he ascended the walls and got a birds-eye view of the Academy. It was simplistic, though a lot of the areas seemed to redirect back to the center, which could seem confusing if you weren't looking from another perspective. The two of them began to converse about their scrolls and recalled that he was given one as well. Except... He had no idea what to do with it. They merely handed it to him during enrollment, and as far as he was concerned, it was a fancy handheld light source. As he was about to say something, Niraya took the initiative and offered assistance first, offering to help with her map problem. Not wanting to impose, he closed his mouth and said nothing else.

It was rather amusing the way the Fanus girl jumped at Qiu’li’s sudden entrance. Right, that was his name. That whole situation earlier had been so strange and things ended up happening rather quickly so she didn’t remember if they had really made proper introductions. It was one heck of a name though. Trying to visualize in her mind how it was spelled she came up with several options yet none of them seemed correct. She wondered where such a name would come from. Perhaps she could talk with him later and find out, though something told her that he wasn’t exactly the type who liked idle conversation.
“I would appreciate it. A map might be nice though I think just getting my bearings around here would help a lot,” Lilium said, glad that the fox fanus was willing to help her so easily. When she had first been leaving her father had warned her that people wouldn’t always be so polite, and even those who were might be trying something unsavory. But so far she hadn’t encountered anyone who seemed to be hiding some kind of ulterior motive. The guys who she had confronted the other day were very open about their intentions. And this fanus girl was also straightforward with her, at least as far as she could tell. It was somewhat strange that she hadn’t introduced herself, but perhaps that was just something that city folk didn’t do as freely.
Taking a quick glance at Qiu’li when he didn’t say anything Lilium tried to read what he was thinking. She could only assume that he was going to join them since he hadn't really spoken up about it. But her father had told her many times what happens when you make an assumption. “Feel free to join us if you’d like, Qiu’li? The more the merrier right? As long as you don’t have any objections, Ms….” Lilium stopped, hoping to give the fox fanus girl a chance to introduce herself properly. While it seemed that her and Qiu’li already knew one another Lilium would have prefered to know her name rather than just having to say “hey you” or anything else along those lines.

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
Niraya jumps when she was called out for not introducing herself. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me. It's Niraya...Niraya Platinum." She was blushing as she was embarrassed about not introducing herself sooner. She takes a deep breath and pulls out her scroll and digs through her files for the map and tries to send it to Lilium. "Um...Not sure if this will work. doesn't hurt to try. I think I sent you something. should be a map. a simple picture of one, but it should work...hopefully...otherwise we would need to walk you around the school till you knew where you were or get you a new phone."
She looks over at Qiu'li her head tilts he was just standing there silently. "you ok big fella? Or do you feel out of place when your not fighting?" She figured he was a fighter when they sparred earlier. It was fine if he stayed quiet at least no one should bother them while he was around. He at least was worth something as long as you didn't poke the bear...sorta speak.
Qiu'li simply watched the exchange between Niraya and Lilium as she pulled out the flashlight and began scrolling through flickering letters until he saw a tiny picture of Lilium on the piece of glass. Whoa. They were used for something? He scratched his head in amazement at the piece of mechanical technology as he continued to watch her, albeit a bit too intensely as she attempted to do something that Qiu'li wasn't quite sure of.
Did she say 'try sending her a map'? This puzzled him greatly as he watched her look away from her Scroll and at him. So many questions, though it seemed like Niraya had something to say to him.
"You ok big fella? Or do you feel out of place when your not fighting?"
She wasn't entirely wrong. Qiu'li did feel very comfortable in combat relative to being in the center of attention or being forced to talk excessively. However he also preferred not having to worry about his own life most of the time. Qiu'li saw fighting as a means to an end, and would prefer if things worked out without confrontation. That isn't to say he wouldn't retaliate if he was attacked first or saw someone he knew in danger. Though regardless, he answered her question by giving a prompt nod to show that he was fine.
Soon afterwards, Lilium spoke up and invited him to tag along with her to explore the campus. Since Niraya didn't seem to object the idea of him following along, Qiu'li nodded with his signature glare, his mouth unmoving and his head bobbing up and down. Though his words and his expression didn't match up, he was somewhat excited to explore the rest of the school in the company of others. Right. Company. Qiu'li paused briefly to think about what else to say. What would people normally say in these types of situations? Does he simply follow them along? Does he add an extra comment? He was unsure, therefore he decided to stick to the safe route and stuck to the two of them. Perhaps once he got to know them better, he'd be willing to talk more.
"Ok. I come too."
For now, he'll be grateful and appreciate the company.
