Context and History: The original Hellebore Company was simply a banding together of common villagers who sought to protect their homes from the incursions of Grimm and the raiding of bandits. It was only much later when the first of the Hellebore family settled in the village that would become Mistral, and rise to become their leader in several battles after with the use of her signature red Semblance, that they adopted her name in honor of her feats. Through the centuries it has been active, the Hellebore Company has progressed from acting as defense militia to mercenary company (hence the name), before splitting off a section of itself to enter business as Hellebore Manufacturing. The two are both controlled by the Hellebore family, the head of which is currently Alramadi Hellebore. However, the heir apparent of the Hellebore family, Erytheia, disagrees with the way the company's direction has taken in recent years, and aims to change that by supplanting her father as the director and owner of the company. This faction application, therefore, is focused on the amount of influence that she has gained over the already existing assets of the organization proper.
For the purposes of clarity, the portion of the Hellebore Company under Alramadi Hellebore will be referred to as the Caelum faction, while the portion of it influenced by Erytheia will be referred to as the Ignis faction.
Primary Goal: The primary objective of the Caelum faction, which makes up the majority of the Hellebore Company, is innovation and profit. To this end, the Hellebore Company sells weapons, armor, and automated defenses, and works with corporations rooted in Atlas in order to receive technological improvements that other Mistrallean companies lack, providing manpower and raw resources in exchange. In recent years, however, much of the company's stock has ended up in criminal hands, and the prices for the Hellebore Company's caravan escorts have driven up, which has led to some reputation hits as a result.
The Ignis' faction's long term goal, as directed under Erytheia Hellebore, is to bring lasting prosperity and stability to the Mistral region. To this end, she intends to take her place at the company's leadership position, and shift the company's vast manufacturing capability towards civilian appliances instead. Erytheia believes that building and/or providing defensive capabilities, arms, and tools to villages outside Mistral on long term payment plans instead of requiring the cost upfront will lead to an increase in the quality of life for the common citizen, which should lead to a boom in trade and production that will revitalize the country's economy after the Fall, as well as an influx of immigrants that will grow the country's population enough to maintain more military bases and outposts as a whole.
How They Operate:
Ignis currently focuses on six main short term goals -
To accomplish this, Ignis faction supporters tend to work in a variety of fields ranging from social to business to fieldwork, mostly within the company itself. They do their best to further the faction's goals without revealing themselves as part of the faction, and try to spread their ideology and vision in subtle ways that limit the risk of exposure. Therefore, there is no overarching behavioral code that governs their actions, as each individual member of the Ignis faction has to make their own decisions at their own pace, with fear of exposure being their only common denominator.
Players who join the Ignis faction can expect to be given missions not dissimilar to the ones on jobs boards that already exist within Haven Academy - the main difference being that the missions given out via the Hellebore Company generally will not also be present on the Haven job boards. In-universe benefits as employees of the Hellebore Company include the supply of Hellebore components for aspiring smiths, ammunition and Dust crystals in excess for Huntsmen and Huntresses in training, and a salaried payment each month. Occasionally, player characters may also be given missions that require a diplomatic touch - these will be conducted as Storyteller group threads, with the DM taking roles as needed.
Weaknesses (Faction Only): The main weakness of the Ignis faction is, quite obviously, their need to keep their dominant rival in the company from knowing of their existence. All of their other issues can be traced back to their need for secrecy - they lack manpower, as they cannot recruit others to their cause through conventional means, and all new recruits need to be vetted by their leader before being drip fed their incorporation into the faction. They are unable to react quickly to sudden changes in their social environment, due to their need to keep their money trail hidden within false projects to keep from being discovered by Caelum auditors. Lacking the raw resources to stand against the Caelum faction by themselves, secrecy is their main defense until they are able to do so. Moreover, due to sharing the name of the Hellebore Company with the Caelum faction, any poor conduct on the other faction's part also reflects badly upon Ignis.
Forbidden Actions: In general, actions that are considered morally reprehensible are heavily disapproved of, and will be grounds for an immediate dismissal or warning depending on the severity of the action and the affected parties. Repeated incidents following the initial warning will have the offender reassigned to work under closer guard or, if the offense is severe enough, turned over to the authorities. Due to the need for secrecy, bribes ensuring the silence of the members expelled thusly tend to be involved with the relevant officials, who keep the offenders away from any opportunity to expose the existence of Ignis.
While such cases are generally treated with all due severity, restrictions are lifted when it comes to overtly hostile factions that do not follow the rule of law, such as criminals, bandits, and other miscreants. In such cases, unless the operative is trained for combat and has a related job, intervention is discouraged but recognized as necessary, especially when lives are at stake, due to the increased attention this garners.

How They Operate:
Ignis currently focuses on six main short term goals -
- The restoration of goodwill and soft power among the populace of Mistral following the poor handling of Hellebore Security and Hellebore Manufacturing's price hikes to fund sections of the company's R&D department.
- The suppression of crime in the Ground district to encourage long term economic investment and stability.
- The subversion of important Caelum faction supporters in the Cloud and Wind district - or failing that, their replacement by Ignis-leaning subordinates.
- The promotion of Hellebore Company civilian equipment over military hardware, which is tied back to the previous point.
- The creation of financial self sufficiency through subsidiary businesses that can divorce themselves from the parent company on short notice.
- The creation of inter-district commerce networks to encourage local spending and support.
