[attr="class","RDcontainer"] [attr="class","RDcontent"] Somewhere deep down Holly knew that she was being a massive whining little baby. Her date went fine. After ensuring that her teammates didn’t kill Todd Green, Holly had set the terms of their date. Yeah, his surname was Green…which was also pretty lame. That was like… literally just a colour. That would be like being called Holly Pink, or Kishka Purple. But their date! Holly and Todd went to the festival area and well…enjoyed the food and drinks and activities for a few hours together. Like…it all went fine. [break] [break] Holly wore a nice enough dress, Todd went in his wingsuit. Which was like…weird, but not fun weird. Because both of them had not really fought in a fight meant to entertain the masses, they were honestly left alone. Some people whistled after them, or said that they should have fought instead of just floated, but that was all. People were not exactly lining up to get autographs or selfies from the two least interesting combatants. So, it was a date without actual star power. [break] [break] They talked about well…stuff. Like, it wasn’t exactly interesting stuff to tell you. What did you do before getting to the academy? What do you like to eat? Todd liked hamburgers. So, they got burgers. The burgers were a bit bland. Not enough seasoning, they both complaint about it to each other and moved on. They played a few games. Like, Todd was actually a decent enough shot to win at a gallery shooting game. He won a small blue elephant, which Holly accepted in a display of traditional gender roles. She named him Mr. Big Snout because despite him being little, Holly didn’t wanted the guy to feel insecure. She would give him a nice place in her room. That would be nice. A nice reminder to an uneventful date.[break] [break] …[break] [break] Can Ryan just come back now?[break] [break] …[break] [break] I miss him.[break] [break] …[break] [break] Holly had forced herself through the date. She had not freaked out or even brought up her boyfriend once. She gave Todd Green a kiss on his cheek when he met his team by happenstance at the fairgrounds. They had eaten and hung out, and while he had asked for Holly to come and meet his friends and teammates, she just said to have fun and that they will speak later. She needed to do a ‘girl-thing’. Todd just looked dumbfounded for a moment, but his team was clever enough to pull him away. [break] [break] The ‘girl-thing’ that Holly was doing was laying face first on a table with her mouth directly connected to a giant piece of cotton candy. Holly had walked up to the Cotton Candy vendor, given him the amount of Lien for the greatest portion he was legally allowed to sell, and she just sat down at a table and started eating. And then that was entirely inside of her, she went for another. It took her more time, but she managed to eat that one as well within the same span of about 15 minutes. The cotton candy vendor seemed to be actually a bit concerned about the girl, asking if she was all right. Holly simply gave him more money, and being the capitalist fairground’s vendor that he was, he gave her another portion. Still having some shred of decency, he had said that this was the last one, because else her tummy will get sick. Her answer was plain and simple. [break] [break] …[break] [break] So, there was Holly. She sat alone at one of the tables at footstalls, it was not yet dinner time so not too many people wishing to interact with the sad eater of sweetness. Pretty and pink and her mouth still trying to digest more sugary confectionary while the rest of her body had long given out. Her throat hurt; her tummy hurt; her head hurt. Everything kinda hurt. Her body never had this much sugar inside of it by a long shot. Still, her heart hurt the most of all. She had a longing for something that no amount of sugar could replace. [break] [break] |
