This place was huge. Not just the school but the surrounding city. It was one thing to read about these places in books but it was another entirely to actually be in one. It still felt weird to Lilium being away from the forests and underbrush of Vale but then again she doubted anything would feel quite like home in the same way. Though, part of that feeling perhaps had more to do with the fact that this really was the first time she has been truly away from home. In either case she was here for the next three years at least so the best she could do was make the best of it.
The outskirts were quieter than the city itself. The hustle and bustle was definitely going to take some getting used to. Unfortunately this wasn't even close to where she was trying to get to. Or maybe it was. Lilium had no clue considering she was entirely lost at this point. Supposedly cities and towns like this were designed to make sense to navigate. Despite this she couldn't make heads or tales of where she was going. “Why are cities so hard to navigate?” Lilium lamented aloud to herself, “Forests make way more sense.”
“Yeah, that's right. Admission fees!”
While Lilium didn't recognize the voice she could easily place the tone behind it. Looking around to survey the scene she quickly assessed the situation. A group of three students with obviously less than moral intentions seemed to have two more than likely newer students cornered. Just the thought of something like that made her blood heat up, but to see it happen truly and fully upset her. Approaching the group from behind she stopped as her shadow made her presence more than noticeable.
The three bullies turned to face her, this close the height difference between her and them was obvious with Lilium standing a full head taller than the tallest of the three. For a moment they seemed surprised, worried even. Though the looks on shock on their faces quickly faded back to far more malicious ones.
“Wow, look at this one. Real tower. Does your boyfriend need a step stool so he can kiss you?” One of the three bullies began before Lilium could say anything.
“Nah, he probably need's and extension ladder,” a second one chimed in, causing the three to burst into a fit of laughter. Lilium paused, her head drooping slightly. She knew she was tall, but that was just cruel. It's not like she could actually change her genetics. Sure she'd love to be shorter if she could but that's just not going to happen.
It was the end of the first round and Qiu'li had finished his first match, shocking most of the audience with his Semblance and unique fighting style. It was his first time fighting among such a massive crowd, but when it came to battle, the focus was on his opponent. Seeing as the next round didn't start for a while, Qiu'li decided to wander about the city to get a feel for it. However, his efforts were as fruitless as the first time around, as Qiu;li was lost once more in the crowds and subject to the eyes of Argus' inhabitants. His strange clothes still stuck out and his piercing gaze still caught undue attention. Feh. He wondered how the battle went for Flower, and if she had also advanced to the next stage. Perhaps he might see her again he-
“Wow, look at this one. Real tower. Does your boyfriend need a step stool so he can kiss you?”
"Nah, he probably needs and extension ladder."
Qiu'li stopped in front of a group of what looked like other students from this area, as they were equipped with various weapons as well. They wore brightly colored armor, which matched their hair color for some reason. Red, blue, and green. Huh. Qiu'li would be lying if he wasn't jealous of the seemingly high quality equipment, then again his master often scolded him for not being thankful for what he had. Although he wanted to pass by to get to the training grounds on the outskirts of the city, it seemed like the group of three were blocking the entrance/exit and demanding monetary value for "Admission." Qiu'li suspected this was some kind of elaborate scheme for personal gain, but he wasn't the directly confrontational type, especially since he still didn't know how to speak to people well, no less trying to confront them.
As an alternative, he decided to wait until they either wandered away or got distracted so he could get by. He was a good distance away from them, but he could still make out their facial features and get and idea of their personalities. The red one seemed to be the leader of the group. Self-confident, smart, and charming. Hm. The blue one was more lanky, though he had eyes similar to Qiu'li in that they were shifty and very suspicious. The green one seemed to be the tallest of the three, and the most muscular. He was a dark skinned, short haired man who wielded a two-handed axe and radiated self-confidence, almost more so than the red student.
Though this entire time he was studying the group, he was curious to see who they were talking too and whoa. Qiu;li blinked and had rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't imagining it. This woman was nearly a head taller than the green student, even taller than he was! He couldn't believe there were women this tall, especially after meeting Flower, a short, dainty little thing. It seemed more obvious to Qiu'li what was going on now. He inferred that the trio was verbally harassing this tall woman, and it seemed to be affecting her.
As much as Qiu'li wanted to step in, he wasn't one for direct confrontation if he could help it. Plus, his inability to communicate would probably make the situation worse. Therefore, he stayed put and simply observed for the time being.

"I try to be understanding because I think that most people are actually quite surprising."
[attr="class","flowerfiotext"]
The first round was over. Flower Fiorella had won her first match.
Not only that but she had seen the results of others she had known. Colton Deraine had obviously prevailed. And that foreigner, Qiu’li had won his match as well. She expected that outcome for both. Colton obviously would never allow himself to lose on the first round, and Qiu’li despite his simple appearance had the makings of a proper huntsman within himself. Her win was expected as well.
Going forward however, was harder to predict. Colton would likely make it to the semi-finals at the very least. Qiu’li’s abilities were mostly unknown to her, but she was well aware that if he had gone this far to prove himself, he would not lose easily.
She was walking by herself, catching a break for just a moment. She had met up with her father earlier. Nero Fiorella had been very proud of his daughter. She had smiled at receiving his praise and his rather too constricting hug. Now she was just alone, waiting for the next round to start. It was better to get some fresh air, be outside the busyness of the arena and its crowd. It wasn’t that she minded in particular, but even she could get overwhelmed by the sheer number of people. Recruiters, students, citizens, all watching her.
Flower just needed a moment to breathe.
And so there was, outside the arena. She was walking, by herself. Her usual outfit hadn’t changed and Bloom was on her back. It was a bit cold, the chilly wind picked up strands of loose grey hair. She reached into her vest pocket, pulling out a small smooth stone that she had received from Qiu’li. It seemed to be a memento from his homeland, she had been initially surprised as to why he had given to her. It seemed like something important, surely if she had ever left home she would want something to remember it by. The stone was pretty, it was dark black, smooth, yet seemed to shine with a reddish hue.
She heard voices.
She looked up to see a small gang of teens… surrounding a very tall girl. Despite her stature, it seemed that the young men were quite literally ganging up on her. Flower blinked with violet eyes, tilting her head on slightly. She heard the words, knowing that they were insults so shallow about the girl’s height. The girl however, said nothing back.
Flower turned again, feeling a presence familiar to her. Qiu’li was outside the arena as well, likely escaping the stadium and having a break from the matches. She made eye contact with violet eyes but said nothing else in pleasantries. She motioned her head on once. Obviously the young man also witnessed what was happening, but he yet had to make any movements of his own.
“Qiu’li. I request that you come with me. I may require your assistance.”
Flower kept her words direct. They were not questions, they were statements. There were three young men, there was only one of her. Looking lightly, they hardly even seemed like trainees or even huntsmen ability, but Flower realized that she was apparently smaller than all of them. And a girl of even shorter stature leant herself to even less of an intimidation factor if the young men didn’t see the tall girl as anything threatening. Qiu’li wasn’t as tall as the tall girl, but nonetheless it was his permanent scowl on his face that was naturally more intimidating than Flower’s blank stare. To an extent, Flower counted on unfamiliar appearance to work in her favor. She did not give credit to the possibility that Qiu’li would not heed her request.
Flowe walked up to the group, not nearly acknowledging the group of teens. She only looked up to the tall girl with blank violet eyes.
“These young men are harassing you.”
Flower’s words were statements of fact, not questions. She waited for a response, only half expecting on in return. Bullies were inexcusable on any level in Flowers eyes. Though she didn’t care if anyone made fun of her, she never tolerated the sight if she paid witness to it.
Flower turned the group of young men. She stood straight, unwavering, the handle of Bloom just visible from her shoulder. Her emotionless outer shell was simply who she was. Her voice was monotone, quiet even, but in the heat of the moment, it was a command meant to be heard.
“I request that you stop your disrespectful behavior and apologize or I will report you to the authorities. If you refuse, you will force me to take action upon my words in order to make you stop.”

This situation wasn’t something she had ever encountered before. Having lived in relative isolation she only knew about bullying from second hand accounts and media. Experiencing it first hand like this wasn’t what she had expected when she walked up to this group. She knew full well that she was tall, though it hadn’t hit her until coming here to Mistral just how tall she really was. Towering over most people did have some advantages though it definitely made her stand out like a tree in the middle of a field of tall grass.
Being made fun of was also rather new, at least in earnest. Sure her family had jested with her while sparing or practicing before, but that had been mean in a friendly way. As much as she was embarrassed about her height being called out like this, Lilium wasn’t quite sure how to respond to being the target of these bullies. What would her sister do in a time like this? Marigold had always been the more outgoing and direct of the two of them.
As she was stuck in this train of thought however it seemed that the three color coded harassers near her were more than willing to continue their verbal assault.
“Man, do you gotta duck to make sure you don’t get hit in the head when airships are flying over?” the green one said.
“How’s the weather up there?” Red chimed in.
“Hold on, I don’t think she can hear us. Her head’s so far up there we might need a megaphone!” Blue added as though on que.
Okay, Lilium had to admit that last one was kind of clever. Insulting her not just for her height but also the fact that she hadn’t responded to them or really said anything since walking up. Not a bad jab at her really. Wait a second? Was she now measuring their ability to insult her like some kind of instructor grading art projects? Lilium sighed at herself for doing something like that at a time like this.
A sudden, very straightforward statement pulled Lilium out of her own trance like train of thought. Blinking several times she looked around for the source of the voice, seeing that someone else had joined her, though the voice hadn’t come from him as he was obviously a guy and the voice had sounded like that of a girl. Once again scanning from side to side she didn’t notice anyone else nearby.
It wasn’t until the voice spoke up again that she was able to pinpoint its source, which had been much closer than she would have realized. Finally looking down she saw the short girl who had accompanied the taller guy. She was pretty in a way, though the look on her face was incredibly blank. Kind of like a doll.
“Oooh, ain’t this a hoot. You lost little girl? The playground’s over there,” The red one said while pointing off to some unimportant direction.
“What’s the matter, lost your mummy?” The green one added in turn.
“Uh… guys. Didn’t these two both just win rounds in the tournament?” The blue one asked his companions sounding somewhat nervous now. His gaze seemed glued to Flower as though if he were to look away she would attack him immediately.
This short girl was right though. These guys were being disrespectful. Lilium had wanted to come over here and put a stop to it but her own lack of social experience had put a stop to that. Okay, time to do something. Clenching her fist she took a long deep breath.
“She is right, you need to stop this now,” Lilium said taking on the tone of a mother scolding her child.
“Oh, look who’s awake,” The red one said with a laugh, apparently ignoring the advice of his comrade. It seemed while the blue one had become suddenly reluctant about their activities the red and green one fully intended to continue.
As Qiu'li continued to watch them from a distance, a familiar voice called out to him as he glanced down to see Flower beside him.
“Qiu’li. I request that you come with me. I may require your assistance.”
Ah. It seemed like she had seen what had transpired as well and wanted to intervene. Although he hadn't thought of her as the type to intervene in these kind of situations, Qiu'li didn't find it surprising in the least. With a brisk nod, he followed behind, hand on Panlong should things get out of control. He also noticed the stone he had given her earlier. Hm..
As they approached the group, Flower was the first to speak up against the group and call them out immediately. Geh. Qiu'li wished he could speak as confidently, though he supposed this was pretty characteristic of Flower anyways. He merely stood behind her with his usual expressionless face. Except... He didn't have one. It was a permanent glare, and his eyes merely darted between the characters and his face radiated a dangerous aura, looking like he was ready to tear them a new one.
Yep, she was definitely the one leading the charge with this one, first with the diplomatic route and then a hint of a threat. The result: Guffawing and cackling from the three stooges as they howled in laughter and pointed at the expressionless Flower, throwing verbal assaults at her just as badly as the tall one. Except for the blue fellow that is. His laughter started to slow as he met Qiu'li's seemingly frightening gaze. Urgh.. Wait- hold on. His eyes darted between Flower and... somewhat at Qiu'li as his face turned to slightly worry.
“Uh… guys. Didn’t these two both just win rounds in the tournament?” Qiu'li did not confirm, nor deny his suspicion, but merely remained stoic and continued to stare at them with his signature glare. The blue one seemed to have some sense of gravity of the situation as he backed off slightly, but the other two either didn't hear him, or didn't care. He was willing to bet Flower's new shiny stone that it was the latter, though he decided only to retaliate if they threw the first punch.
It seemed like the taller one finally spoken up, though taking a bit of a scolding tone. Huh. Unexpected from someone in this scenario, but what did he know about social etiquette. Absolutely none that is. The leader of the group seemed to have responded in kind though, laughing in her face as he did so. Though this time he decided to up the ante.
"C'mon though. You know that I was just playin' right? Just some fun 'n games is all. Heheh. Listen, you seem new here and all. I get it. I'm pretty well known 'round there parts. You seem pretty nice unlike little squirt over here. What say you join our gang and I show you around, ha? We can great friends. You know, friends who do each other favors right?" He said as his eyes wandered down to Lilium's chest briefly he licked his lips a bit.
"Whaddya say? We'll just move these two chumps outta the way and we can get goin' okay, friend?" The red one said to Lilium as he drew a curved dagger from his back pocket, twirling it around his hand.
As he did so, the green armored short-haired one put an arm on the back of his neck, rubbing it. Though it inched slowly towards the axe handle as a wide grin stretched across his face. He made direct eye contact with Qiu'li as he glared back at him. Seems like he didn't like the look on his face. "Flower. May need to retaliate..." Qiu'li muttered as his gaze went downward, gazing at his 3-section staff Panlong.

"I try to be understanding because I think that most people are actually quite surprising."
[attr="class","flowerfiotext"]
They were not very intelligent.
The fact they seemed to derive some kind of pleasure from making rather derogatory remarks seemed to mark them as rather sadistically simple creatures. Flower found no interest in their words, as they mostly seemed involved with themselves.
She had said what she needed, yet they did not listen to her.
Qiu’li had followed her, as she requested, yet even his intimidating presence did little to shake the oddly strong demeanor that the three of the young harassers had.
They were making fun of her now.
“What’s the matter, lost your mummy?”
Flower’s blank expression remained.
She saw that finally, the tall girl decided to say something. The beginning of this whole encounter, and now she was finally taking some sort of action. Flower seemed to take note that the young woman wasn’t expectedly offended by anything the boys were saying, but nonetheless, they were still being extremely rude. Was it wrong for Flower to so bluntly step in? Flower cared little for what the young men said to her, but to be so obviously harassing a stranger for something as trivial as height… just what kind of age did these people come from?
The Blue one seemed to have some sense about him, recognizing then what Flower and Qiu’li were capable of, however it seemed that the Red one, leader of the gang(?) was not ready to stop their rather incessantly forced interaction yet.
Flower noticed the weapon he had as well.
"Flower. May need to retaliate..."
She nodded once. She took that as a signal of yes, they actually needed to take action.
Flower’s body was lit aglow with a light lavender aura. With Bloom already on her back, the girl simply took that as her opportunity to turn into metal. Her entire body was encased in steel, her semblance was a transformation type. It felt somewhat cold as her skin was seemed to instantly be encased in dark steel.
She moved before the red one had the chance to pull out his dagger from behind his back. Even if he had attempted to attack her, her durability was already upped thanks to her transformation to metal. The plain knife would have simply scraped against solid steel. She grabbed the map by the neck as he stood so close in front of her. She was short, it was almost comical in a sense, but Flower was not laughing. Her strength was also boosted in her transformation and she was obviously not letting him go anytime soon.
“I am not a child.”
She said her words simply. She then turned to the green one, looking at him directly with violet eyes.
“My mother is dead.”
Her monotone voice was softly spoken, yet her words were meant to be heard. She turned her head back to red again.
“You were not playing around. You intended to attack us, so I reacted first. You are not famous because I do not know who you are. We are not friends and we will not become friends. You are also a pervert. I find that reprehensible and disgusting.”
Flower’s other hand went to Bloom’s hand on her back, but she had yet to draw her weapon. She had little intention of actually fighting the trio, but if it came down to it she would. Her civilized approach had not worked, so yes, it now came down to a physical showdown, one that Flower was confident she could take on.
“If I release you, you will leave this area and never speak to me or the two persons beside me ever again. If I do not receive verbal confirmation of this or if you intend to take other action besides my request, I will become more physically violent towards you and your companions.”

Lilium blinked several times in confusion at what the red one was saying. The tone of his voice was one she had never really heard anyone use before in person so it took a second before she could pin it down. Of course him looking at her chest helped too. He was having unsavory thoughts about her. A red twinge came to her cheeks as she realized this. While his appearance wasn’t anything special his attitude was definitely unattractive. If she remembered correctly the word used to describe someone like him was…
“A lecher,” Lilium said, as though she had just remembered something important. Unfortunately what she hadn’t realized was the knife that the red one was pulling out. And were it not for the quick interference of the short girl it probably would have been a much bigger issue. This quick shift of tone didn’t go unnoticed by Lilium though as she realized things had gotten much more serious. And at this range if she wasn’t careful she would end up on the business end of a weapon. Putting up her aura for defense she scanned the other two.
“Oww. Damn it!” The red one exclaimed, “let go of me you brat!”
The green one continued his grin while reaching for the axe on his back. It seemed he had the taller more stoic man who had presumably come to help. The blue one however seemed stuck between the idea of running off or trying to take out Lilium. His eyes darted back and forth between a clean escape route and the tower of a woman that was more in front of him now that his red companion had been incapacitated. Though the weapon he had on his hip would have some ranged capability, and with his size and build he didn’t appear to be of much use in any kind of up close and personal altercations.
This was looking like it was going to be a fight. Even if the third one took off the other two seemed more than ready to pick a fight. Hopefully the other two would be able to handle the mele portion of this. Lilium decided to act before she got blindsided by anyone else. Clenching her hand into a fist she brought it up and tried to dash forward to land a solid blow on the blue one.
Set off by the sudden motion the green one grabbed his axe and drew it. In the same motion he charged for the quiet man. It seemed rather obvious that his hope was that without a weapon already drawn that he would have an upper hand on his opponent. The red one at the same time attempted to break free of the small girl’s grasp. Putting a leg back he attempted to trip the girl while pushing against her attempts at holding him down.
Unfortunately while the red one was targeting the short girl, his leg first intercepted Lilium as she was making for the blue one. Taking off guard she had no time to react and she soon realized that she was no longer going forward but down towards the ground. This bought her target enough time to dash out of the range of any kind of close encounter. Just barely catching her feet Lilium tracked the blue one.
Not paying much attention to the fight that had broken out near her she caught sight of the blue one as he stopped, reaching for the weapon on his hip. Now it was a test of who could draw faster. Swinging around the large gun bag she had on her back Lilium took hold of the zipper and yanked it open. Pulling out the massive anti material riffle she carried, so dubbed Thunder Lily she brought it up and began to take aim.
Unfortunately for her it seemed the blue one was a bit faster on the draw. Taking a shot at Lilium with his pistol. Her only option was to attempt a dodge. Which went about as well as could be expected from someone who stands as tall as she does carrying a rifle almost as long as some people are tall. Making a not so graceful roll away she once again took aim, hoping to get a shot off at the blue one.
Looks like his hunch was spot on, as the Red individual was prepared for a pre-emptive attack and Flower caught her in the nick of time. However, the altercation after that spiraled into chaos like gunpowder being ignited by a flame. He watched the tall one throw a punch at the blue haired individual before realizing that the green, dark skinned one was charging forward. Shit.
Sensing an incredible amount of bloodlust, Qiu'li wasted no time to retaliate. As soon as he was within striking range, Qiu'li jumped back and drew Longtou, his ringed broadsword to clash with the other, sending out a spray of sparks as the blades made contact. One, a double edged hunk of iron, and the other, an equally large hunk of iron that jangled loudly due to the rings fitted along the back end of the sword. The green one had the relative advantage in strength, therefore Qiu'li deflected the move away and backed up, taking a defensive position. It seemed like the fight was going to be three ways, and he would receive no help from the other two.
The green man had a smug look on his face. He was aware of his strength advantage and began another charged attack, this one an upward diagonal cut at his right abdomen. Qiu'li attempted another deflection, and the sheer impact sent out a loud ring across the entrance with a resounding 'clang'. The force of the impact was heavy, and slightly painful as Qiu'li tried to regain his bearings. Urgh. What a pain...
There wasn't much to go off of besides defend, but should this trend keep going, his arms might give out. Qiu'li continued to deflect and dodge whenever he could, but it seemed like the Green one was simply getting started. His Semblance emitted a green glow, and each hit was getting progressively more difficult to block. Whatever it was, the Semblance seemed to boost his physical strength with each successful strike against his blade.
Their movements had lead them just a little bit past the entrance, though still within the area. Qiu'li was starting to pant a bit as his arms were growing more and more difficult.
BANG.
A shot rang out and a burning sensation filled Qiu'li's arm as a gunshot seemed to have barely glanced his arm and embedded itself into the wall next to his arm. The Green one let out a haughty laugh at the misfortune that befall Qiu'li. Shit. This was a bad situation turned worse. With a taunting laugh, he raised his axe above his head and went for a downward vertical chop. Easy money.
Except he wasn't there anymore. Huh? He looked left and right, nowhere to be seen. A shadow casted above his head as he turned to look upwards and there he was. Except he looked a bit... different? His skin was beet red, and steam was emitting off his skin like crazy as he began coming downwards.
Though it seemed like he had a different weapon. A staff? No, upon closer look, it was a glaive! The bastard transformed his weapon when he dodged the initial attack and was spiraling downwards towards him. With each rotation, however, Qiu'li made a full swing of his glaive. Each swing made the blade glow, and a crimson red sword-shaped beam of light projected from it and straight down at the Green one. Each slice was as strong as the last, and definitely heavy hitting.
Qiu'li managed to get about two sword beams in before his glaive collided with the axe, creating a strong shockwave from the impact. Green attempted to push back and swing horizontally to catch him due to the size of his weapon, but Qiu'li easily dodged his slow, cumbersome attack as he used the wall behind him to push upwards and over him.
Pulling his glaive over his head and performing a full rotation and a half, he caught the Green one with two half slashes from Longtou and a direct blunt strike to the back from Panlong, sending him straight into the city wall at full force. It was a direct him, though Green seemed much tougher than he looked. He turned and readied his axe, charging once more to clash with him. Qiu'li would have to end this quickly before his Semblance ran out.
He lowered his stance and sprung forward as well, except instead of directly clashing with him, Qiu'li disengaged Longtou and Panlong, hurling Panlong in front of him and dodging at the last moment by using the momentum of the staff to launch him overhead once more over Green as he missed his swing, running right into the staff and getting caught by it as Qiu'li threw a full rotation from behind and striking the back of Green's head with the pommel with the full force of his Semblance's boosted ability. A loud clang followed by the jangles of metal rings resounded the area as the force depleted his Aura and knocked him unconscious.
Seems like this was his victory, though how would the other two prevail?

In short, they didn’t listen to her.
Flower thought it very illogical of them, something nearly so pointless. It was Qiu’li who had suggested they might have needed to ‘retaliate.’ Then it was Flower who saw that the trio were already prepared to take such action.
She simply reacted.
She knew of Qiu’li’s combat ability. If anything he could take on at least one of the odd trio by himself. He had won a round in the Mistral Tournmanet, he didn’t carry around weapons because he liked having them around, it was a simple conclusion.
The tall girl was a relatively unknown factor. But Flower was simply confident in her own abilities, so that was why she activated her semblance first.
“Oww. Damn it!”
He wanted her to let go, but she wasn’t going to. He attempted to kick her, sweep her off her feet to trip her up. His leg missed, Flower was still standing. Apparently, he hit the tall girl. A lot of things were happening at once. The blue one had a pistol, but the tall girl had a gun. A very big gun. He shot at her, she attempted to dodge.
Meanwhile, the green one wielded an axe as he was attempting to go after Qiu’li, their resounding clash made noise, but Flower was confident in the foreigner’s control of the situation.
So that left her and Red. He still struggled, attempting to make her let go of her grip around his neck. His attempts were made in vain. In her transformed state, Flower was stronger than him. Perhaps the delinquent would further be surprised by the fact that Flower’s limb felt purely like solid steel.
“You brought this violence upon yourself and your companions.”
It was all Flower said. Her grip on his neck tightened slightly. He was still taller than her by several inches, but that didn’t stop the girl from grabbing him with her other free arm. She turned her head to were Blue was setting up shots against the tall girl.
She lifted Red from the ground, his movements and struggles against her being the only problem in her initial ability to lift him up. She threw him at Blue.
Their bodies crashed into each other, Red yelling in pure shock and terror. Blue attempted to scramble out of the way but was caught off guard before anything else. The two were initially dazed by the collision, but before long Red jumped up back to his feet. Now brandishing his large knife, he charged toward Flower again.
Flower made little moves to react. He was faster than her, obviously, he seemed to have some kind of archaic style of a brawler. He charged with his knife out, his movements were easy to read. As the blade came forward, Flower lifted her arm to guard against it. Any normal person would be insane to sacrifice their limb to guard against a rather sharp looking blade, but this Flower. At the moment, she wasn’t made of flesh and bone. She was made of steel.
Her metallic arm gave a resounding clang as Red battered the knife against her, similar to the clash that Qiu’li was having with the green axe wielder. Flower held up her arms in a defensive posture, but Red’s barrage was still relentless. Eventually, he saw the futility of his attacks.
“You FREAK!”
Flower remained with an unchanging expression. Red backed away, she let down her arms. Suddenly he jumped to the side and back again. His hand formed a fist, swinging to make contact with her face.
It did. Flower’s head turned as the punch hit her directly. The girl grunted, her body seemed to be visibly shaken. Red smirked, apparently confident that his hit connected. But in the next moment, his eyes widened as he grabbed his hand.
“Ow. Ow! OWW!”
The man would have felt like he had punched something as hard and as stiff as rock. Flower lifted her head, only shaking it slightly. It became obvious that Red’s punch hadn’t made as much damage as he had expected. The girl seemed more surprised than hurt. She nodded her head once.
“My turn.”
She took a step forward, Red looking at her with a look of man who known he’d made a mistake. The man could’ve ran, he could’ve dodged, he could’ve done anything else, but at that moment in time, he was simply terrified of the freak of nature before him. Flower reeled back her arm, her fist aimed directly at his chest. She punched him hard.
He choked, stepping backward as he stumbled away. He was wheezing, the wind was entirely knocked out of him.
Flower looked over to Qiu’li. He had succeeded against the green haired ax wielder, who now laid on the ground unconscious.
Blue, had unfortunately enough, witnesses the utter defeat of his companions. After being used as target practice by both the giant girl and then as a crash pad for Red, he was ready to be done.
“O-Okay! You win! You win! W-We’re getting outta here!”
He ran over to green, lifting the teen’s motionless body from the ground with a grunt. Red still looked in anger at Flower in particular, but the girl simply returned a literal gaze of steel. If it was possible to squeak while gasping, Red suddenly did so. He stumbled after Blue, helping him with Green.
The trio finally were gone.
Flower was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief. She turned to Qiu’li and then to the fair haired girl. “Are you unhurt?” She would ask both of them, though it seemed that all three of them hardly sustained an injury at all, she still had to make sure. After receiving the likely answers, Flower turned to Qiu’li again, giving him a short bow.
“Qiu’li, I apologize for dragging you into my actions. I was confident in your intimidating appearance and fighting ability and saw it as an asset in the confrontation with the three delinquents. I am glad to see that my assumptions were correct.”
Turning then to the tall girl, Flower had to look up to her to make any kind of eye contact. Though she still spoke rather softly, her tone was still the same monotonous kind it was throughout most of the encounter. It seemed to have an odd… metallic ring to it, for at this point in time Flower was still transformed in a state of steel itself.
“I am sorry that you were harassed by those delinquents. It is fortunate that the outcome ended in favor of us. I am confident they will never bother you again.”
As fast as the battle began had the battle been decided. As the steam continued to dissipate from his reddened skin, Qiu'li panted softly as he glanced over to see how Flower and the other was doing. It seemed like the Red one had inflicted damage to his own hand after punching the hardened material that was Flower's Semblance. It wouldn't be long, but Qiu'li was fairly certain that if the battle dragged on, the Red one would lose. Sure enough, right as he thought about it, Flower had thrown a heavy punch right into the red one's chest.
If it were any quieter, Qiu'li could have sworn he heard a 'crack' noise upon the impact of her punch into his chest, indicating a broken bone somewhere as the wind was knocked out of him. Either way, the battle seemed over, as the blue one scrambled over to concede and retreat with the Green one. Trying to avoid eye contact with Flower and the tall one, he had inadvertently looked at Qiu'li, whom was still in Fennu form and quite literally looked like a monster, with his beet red skin, the emanating steam, and his permanent scowl that looks more like a horrifying, demonic glare at this point. The blue one's face turned white as a sheet as he struggled to drag the green one off with the red leader.
As they disappeared from sight, Qiu'li felt his Semblance settle down as he picked up Longtou and Panlong to tuck under his sash. However he noticed Flower turning to him and bowing before looking back up to him.
“Qiu’li, I apologize for dragging you into my actions. I was confident in your intimidating appearance and fighting ability and saw it as an asset in the confrontation with the three delinquents. I am glad to see that my assumptions were correct.”
Qiu'li nodded slowly and tightened his sash, gazing back up at her with his usual permanent scowl on his face."happy to help... Friend in need." He muttered as he gazed over in the direction that should lead to the training grounds. As he looked over at the fleeing delinquents, he turned back to see where the tall one was and if she was okay. To his surprise, she was nowhere to be seen. Perhaps she had left before he had noticed? Then again he wasn't all that concerned with her. If she was here with a weapon, she must have also been an aspiring huntress, and chances are he'd probably end up seeing her again soon.
Without much else to say, Qiu'li turned and began walking off on the pathway towards the training grounds, waving once more to Flower as he headed out. He was sure this wouldn't be their last encounter either.
