[attr="class","lumentemp"] Well, at least it was something he could do, and he knew he could do it decently well. [break][break] Wilderness survival training. Truly, it was just like what he did back home. Back home, the Wilderness was everything that surrounded him, and survival depended on himself, his wits, and his own ability to stay alive. It wasn’t books or studying. It wasn’t getting caught up in orders or fighting against other people. Instead, it was something that he could do and was both comfortable doing. [break][break] So one could say that Lumen was excited, but perhaps he would have been more so if he hadn’t been assigned a partner. Partners… at least every student was assigned another one. It was more ideal in a survival situation, having another person keep watch for Grimm, set up camp, hunt, and prepare food if necessary. It was all better done with another person, Lumen had to admit. [break][break] Though, he still would have preferred to go at it alone. [break][break] Regardless, here he was hiking through the forested area outside of Haven, which was used for exactly these types of exercises. The leaves crunched underneath his boots, and he looked out to his assigned partner, a fellow second-year who was a Monkey Faunus. Apollo Reed. [break][break] Naturally, Lumen wasn't even sure if the other student seemed to know who he was. Lumen himself didn’t make it his business to be in other’s business. Besides a name and general idea of who the other was, he really didn’t know much about Apollo either. [break][break] Lumen adjusted the strap to his small backpack, standing up a bit straighter as he looked across their surroundings, a typical kind of woods and forested area. Tall trees, mostly green with the spring season, crowded together so that there was barely really a trail to follow. His own yellow-amber eyes narrowed slightly as he stayed still, keeping his ears open for sounds, from nearby birds to the buzzing of insects. It was said that there were still Grimm in this forest, lesser ones that most second-year students were expected to be capable of handling. [break][break] He didn’t hear anything at the moment. The sun shined down through the green canopy, signifying the beginning of the later afternoon. There was a nice breeze that picked up some silver locks of hair. [break][break] Besides that, he knew that they were going to be stuck out here in the Wilderness for the next two days.
