Moving was his mistake, and he never thought that will ever be the case with him.
Movement was his element, his calling, even his semblance made him just go and never stop. To think it almost caused his demise... He had to berate himself for it.
A bit after his feet touched the ground, almost at the other tree he singled out to hide on, Caelum picked up a sound that was distinctly different than his own steps and the rustle of the leaves. He could hear tree trunks being damaged behind him, and he swiftly ducks down and behind one of the oaks to listen more. It was definitely an attack, but he had no idea where exactly it came from. Wherever the Seeker was she either had really good eyesight, or really good hearing, or both. If the attack really was a ranged one and he was not about to deal with an invisible foe, Caelum will have no choice but to utilize the natural benefits his semblance can give him.
After the first barrage let off, he climbed up the tree to gain higher ground and hopefully see the Seeker before they attack him again. The general direction was definitely east, and while he was hidden among the benches, it was also harder for him to see that far away. Unknown to him, Niraya was firing ice-shards at him from more than fifteen meters away, which was a rather praiseworthy accomplishment.
Only because he was high enough, was he able to notice the next attack incoming, and see that it was not that easy to dodge. Not by normal standards, at least. He wasted no time to activate Heaven’s Tracker as white aura particles gathered around his body and eyes. He jumped off the tree branch as a white emblem appeared in mid air, the image of the sun and the moon enclosed in a white circle to help him escape. As soon as his feet touched it, he jumped forward toward the south with a speed that could be envied by a normal, less trained person. He activated two other emblems on his way to get further and further away from his initial hiding place, one right on top of a falling leaf at his left, the other at the side of a bench. All the while flying away from Niraya’s attack, his legs never touched the ground, and the only image she would be able to see from this distance was his blur, and white dust in the air. The emblems disappeared as fast as they came to life once they completed their purpose.
If he was any later at activating his semblance, he would not only be tagged, but probably scratched by her attack as well. Some of the shards hit the tree he was on, so running away was the good choice. Thank the heavens he was home on higher ground.
He got near their original starting point, but by this time, other people might have made more noise for her to be distracted by.

Niraya Platinum When snow falls, Nature listens.
[attr="class","rainbow"]
Niraya was breathing heavy that assault took everything she had and she missed. She could tell she missed as the white blur signaled her target had fled at high speed. "damn it!" She pursues her foe but he was long gone by the time Niraya even started moving. She stops to catch her breath and listens for any noise that would help. she didn't hear anything. She growls to herself for missing her target. "nice job niraya. all that wasted energy and all you got is a miss." She goes to search the area around G-7 as that is where she lost track of her foe.
Nikolas only smiled in response to Rosario's comment about nicknames being his thing. Although, it was less of a smile and more of a baring of the teeth, like a wolf would. "You have consistency. I don't." He simply responded, his stormy eyes almost gleaming with amusement and feral interest, like lightning churning within the cumulus. Out of all the blokes he had met in Mistral so far, he liked Rosario Rosada the best, or at least, disliked him less than all the others. Rosario, while far too aloof for Nikolas' taste, knew how to banter and verbally spar just for the sake of the entertainment. That was a plus in Nik's book. [break][break]
Seeing that Rosario wasn't actively attacking Nikolas, he relaxed his stance infinitesimally, not dropping it but not holding himself tensed and coiled instead, the blade of the spear lowering the last few inches to rest an edge on the ground. Ros, or anyone who ever met Nikolas, would know that he hadn't let his guard down; Nikolas never let his guard down, and would quickly burst into counter movements in case Rosario tried a low-blow. But this was enough of a concession towards Rosario that Nikolas was making, an unspoken message that said that he would not strike while the conversation was going on, or unless Rosario forced him to do so. Nikolas' expression had melted into a neutral expression after his first grin, although it held a inkling of amusement. However, at Rosario's next response, he simply snorted, doing a quick glance in different directions for any hidden cameras although he didn't waste time trying to find them. His eyes returned to Rosario, before he simply said. "Guilty as charged. Question still stands."[break][break]
And of course, Rosario decided to drag the moment out, his challenging smile answered by Nikolas' steely gaze. The silence stretched for one second, two seconds, three seconds, several seconds until Rosario seemed to shrug and answered Nikolas' question. Of course Rosario wasn't playing by the rules. He'd met the man enough times to count on one or both hands and he already knew that Rosario wasn't someone who'd ever do what was expected. A wild card through and through.[break][break]
"Forget it Rosada. I have the elevation advantage!" He said it in a voice that was both mocking and grand. Nikolas didn't know why he responded that way, but it felt like the right thing to say. [break] "Whatever you are planning, don't try it." He added, his voice now back to it's usual neutrality although with a back-tone of amusement, although a twitch on the corner of his lips alluded to the smirk that was suppressed. It was a subtle thing he did, the smirk, the slight tone of his voice. It was like a gentle nudge towards the fact that he, Nikolas, could also be a Seeker. After all, Nikolas had attacked Rosario first, no? A bluff to make Rosario reconsider, turning the table on the player. Nevertheless, he tensed his stance once more, the light breeze gently moving his loose white hair as it passed by them, his own eyes seeming to crackle with unseen energy, the thrill of a battle about to come, as he stared down Rosario, waiting for the pinkette to make the first move. An unspoken duel turned into a Mistralan standoff. Ros would need to draw his gun up and fire, while Nikolas would have to snap the tip of his spear up and fire. Even the forest around them seemed to quiet down, the sounds of insect life fading, birds quieting as if they all sensed the tension building. It was all a matter of who'd cave first and make the first move, or if they'd be interrupted before that happened.[break][break]
[ Nikolas is currently standing off against Rosario Rosada near the big tree, himself standing at L14.]
The game was progressing... in a rather interesting way.
Niraya had come close to two students, even shooting at the movement that could have been a target. And then, she took off after him. Caelum, however, was still moving, now even near the edge of the area itself. Perhaps there was something amusing about the chase, the Faunus did react with a certain amount of frustration. It also seemed, however… that Caelum was among the only of the group to be playing the game correctly. Cautious, careful, perhaps a bit boring in the end, but naturally being a Huntsmen wasn’t always a fanciful job. At least, he was avoiding even getting truly caught by the Faunus, which was impressive in its own regard.
Rosario had confronted Nikolas. That wasn’t very surprising but the proclaimed Seeker simply was far from actually doing his intended job. Jay supposed he should have accounted for that fact, the kid naturally did not like playing by anyone’s rules. Certainly, improvisation was useful in the field, but his rebellious behavior would never help efforts to become a Huntsmen if that really was what the kid was playing at. Nikolas was reacting in the same frame.
And as for Qiu’li. When Niraya had come toward his area, he had escaped while she had focused on Caelum, narrowly avoiding the Faunus’s ice shards. And he also seemed to be aware of Rosario’s and Nikolas’s interactions. The three of them were all in a similar area now with Rosiahn having a chance to tag them all as a Seeker. The question would be if the pink haired kid would play by the rules.
Jay looked down at the timer, the students had already burned through about half their time. Caelum, Nikolas, and Qiu’li remained untagged with Niraya on the trail of Caelum and Ros questionably on the trail of the latter two. Not much in terms of combat had happened yet but he kept his eyes on the interactions between Ros and Nikolas.
“Oh ho… Smokey now, language. We’ve got an audience”
Has Qiu'li not forgotten that there were other eyes in the forest, he would have thought that Ros was referring to him and that his cover had been blown. Perhaps he had already caught on and was simply playing along, though Qiu'li decided against revealing himself just in case. This was a favorable position after all, being able to stay out of direct conflict while also being able to watch for any incoming threats, namely Niraya.
Chances are if she came here running, the main thing she would notice is the presence of Ros and Nikolas fighting it out than snooping every tree in the forest. Regardless of the outcome, he doubted that they would stay long or expect anybody else to be around. Laying low on the branches above, he merely waited to see what would become of the altercation between the pink haired loud mouth and the hotheaded white head.
They both had ranged capabilities, that much was certain based on their last encounter, therefore it would be a matter of who lands the first shot on the other. A real standoff it seems, each one with a twitchy finger. The air felt heavy and the atmosphere was thick with how the two were glaring at each other. For the time being, Qiu'li hoped that their fight wouldn't come to the tree that he was hidden in.
(Qiu'li is currently watching the battle between Ros and Nikolas unfold from approximately 10 meters above in a tree around L-18. Tension....)

Once the barrage of ice shards had quieted down, Caelum halted on the branch he chose as a landing point. Before, he made the mistake of moving, but this time, he would keep quiet, motionless among the high branches to avoid the watchful eyes and ears of the Seeker. He should have expected this, really. Their first Seeker was a faunus, who had her senses heightened as far as he knew. It was a kind of advantage that needed to be taken seriously in this situation, and Caelum was not about to make the same mistake twice.
In case he saw someone approaching, he would stay on the tree as long as possible. He expected to be caught sooner or later, but with his semblance ready to be used, he would not make the job of any Seeker easy. It was not even that he took the point of the class seriously. It was not quite obvious, but Caelum had a certain pride that did not let him lose easily. Unless he could tell he did everything within his power to win, he would not rest well after a loss. So yes, he expected to be caught. Eventually. But he would not give himself up freely just because the opponent was cute, and the setting was kind of ridiculous.
He was silent as he changed his position on the branch, now crouching with his back against the treetrunk to hide his body. At the same time, he was able to see a wider area in front of him while his back was protected by a natural obstacle. Will it be ice again that he will run away from? He wondered if there were any other Seekers out there by now, or if it was the faunus that sent the ranged attack at him.
Oh well. He will find out eventually. For now, he will be a good little Hider, and stay hidden.
