"So, first." Heidi started speaking a short while after Nasrin had finished. It seemed she had taken what was said into consideration and actually thought about her answers which was a good sign. The taller huntress adjusted herself to a more comfortable sitting position than her squat and went on.
"If you can't see how you're different than some random bartender," That wasn't quite the point Nasrin had been trying to make, but she didn't want to interrupt and so let Heidi continue. "I don't know what to tell you. But, since it seems like you want honesty, I'm going to be honest, and I'm going to be blunt." Perfect. That was exactly what she wanted. Nasrin didn't have the time or energy for all the double talk some people used. Saying one thing and meaning another was for the politicians and snobby types that pretended they were better than everyone else. "What you and I are, following any kissing, huhs, or whatever the fuck I want, depends more on you than me."
Nasrin squinted at that, she wasn't sure if she was convinced quite yet. Heidi seemed to notice her doubts and grinned. "What? Do you expect me to get what I want and never speak to you again?" Yes. She had. "That's really more Jackie's style, and she must have told you some awful things about me for you to believe otherwise." Nasrin was... Confused. Again. Jackie did not seem like the kind to do that. It sounded as though the only reason she would was if Heidi did something she found embarrassing. But she also hadn't known Jackie for very long. If Heidi stuck around, she would easily get to know her just as much if not more. Maybe Heidi was telling the truth, and Jackie's anxiety and embarrassment had made her exaggerate things.
Heidi shrugged and finally matched Nasrin's pose, legs crossed and watching the other person quite intently. "I mean, if that's what you wanted, we could do that, but I haven't got so many friends at Haven that I couldn't use more. You'd be surprised how hard it can be to maintain a relationship when your body's prone to being hijacked by a coward you can't even look most people in the eye." It wasn't what Nasrin wanted, and she figured that was pretty clear by her even asking all this in the first place.
Heidi grinned wider, and Nasrin couldn't help but smile as the light flickered off of the other woman's eyes. They were so bright, so full of life, and whichever way the light seemed to strike them they would sparkle like gems. "And you, a one night stand? Don't make me laugh? You're far too cute, far too interesting, to toss out like some used tissue." Heidi lowered her voice, speaking almost conspiratorially despite no one else being anywhere near. "No, if anything happens between us, I'd sooner it weren't a one time deal."
That was comforting. Nasrin hadn't been with anyone since she was a teenager, and a relationship she could rely on would be nice. Though things would be complicated with Jackie popping in every now and then but... They could just be friends. It would be great! Two friends, one of which was intimate, for the price of one. The concern now was Jackie and what she would think of all this. It was still her body, changed in quite a few ways perhaps, but it was still hers.
"As for the other thing," Heidi started, "It seems to me that it would greatly simplify your relationship with her if she knew you liked us both, wouldn't you agree? She might not be excited for us to be together, but that's only because she finds everything to do with physical affection distasteful. She'd find the thought of you with anyone, not just me, to be an unpleasant one." She went on, spreading her hands like she was appealing for Nasrin to believe her, "And so long as she's not the one required to kiss and hug and do whatever the fuck she wants to you, I don't see how she could have much cause for complaint. Continue to treat her with the tolerance and patience you've already shown for her, and I doubt she'd care much what you get up to with me." That all seemed convincing. And Heidi didn't appear to be lying to cover up what Jackie's thoughts actually were. Nasrin figured if Jackie was opposed to this, she would overpower Heidi the same way Heidi had almost overpowered her back when they nearly kissed.
"You know I'm not her, you know she's not me. That cat's out of the bag now, and so long as you never get us confused, so long as you never think she's the sort to flirt for cheap drinks , I can guarantee she'll be fine." There was another brief pause, and then Heidi added another olive branch to the already very convincing tree. "I'll even keep my feelings to myself, when you're speaking to her. I shouldn't have to, it's my body after all, but that should make your dealings with her less troublesome."
Nasrin pondered for a few minutes. There was a lot to consider, a lot that could go wrong. But really, Nasrin was not at all patient. She never had been, and this especially seemed like the only risk was small enough that it could be managed as long as Nasrin wasn't an idiot about talking to Jackie.
Eventually she sat up, eyes flickering between Heidi's lips and her eyes as she went in for a slightly longer kiss than their first one. This time she was the one to wrap her arm behind the other woman's head and hold them there for a while. She was likely not as experienced in all this as Heidi was, but she wasn't new either and the kiss had a certain level of charm to it. As she broke the kiss and pulled back, her face lit up with a wide smile accompanied by a wink. "Alright. You've convinced me. We'll give this a shot if you're up for it, yeah? I think we'll be good together. And one day I'll use you as a free tattoo ticket back in Atlas." A light chuckle, and Nasrin ducked out of the shelter. The last segment of wall was still unfinished, and she was not the type to leave things like that alone for long. Tugging the wall pieces back towards the shelter with her single arm was a slow process and had her furrowing her brow in concentration the entire time. Her leg still hurt like a bitch, which didn't help, but once all the logs were back she flopped down to sit on the wooden floor of their shelter and got to work tying the final bits of wood together.
"Another question for ya, Heidi. I'm partial to to one and one relationships, not a fan of big groups o' people all sleeping between each other. What about you? Also feel free to help me with this shit. Would go a lot faster with three hands than one and some teeth." Another light smile was given as she turned to face Heidi for a moment, then back to work.
