Scorpion sting, I don't wanna
bleed
tell me that I'm not

He hadn't been doing very much, aside from studying, when his Scroll lit up with all manner of wild conversations from the Green Class group chat.
Something about chicks, which he found decidedly amusing, and out of nowhere, Ameli had requested his presence for a dance lesson with her roommate. He hadn't met either of them properly, aside from classes, but from what he could tell, Ameli was quite a proper young lady, with a dignified air, and Rose was... Well, she wasn't that. That was for sure. She was so different from the paladin that it came as a surprise that the two were roommates. It boggled the mind, picturing them getting along...
And then, of course, Holly insisted on coming along, and bringing with her, Ryan. He did know those two- Holly was a strange little gardener who brought him a variety of herbs to work with not too long ago, and Ryan was quiet, but a good guy. Arguably his closest friend at Haven, thus far. He seemed significantly less thrilled about dancing than Holly, which was a little funny, to Jack's sense of humor. Two pairs of dance partners, half of each, actively fighting against the idea, the other half seemingly quite excited.
Jack was excited, but in his usual quiet manner. A small smile spread warmly across his face at the thought of this soon-to-be-chaotic event. Dancing was more than a hobby of his- prior to his insistence on becoming a Huntsman, he had nearly been a professional dancer. The ballroom was far more comfortable to him than any Grimm-infested forest.
Which wasn't to say that he didn't want to be a Huntsman- he absolutely did, but it would never hold the same spark in his chest that a fine waltz did.
He finished adjusting his bow tie and headed out for the training facility he'd mentioned to Ameli. Understandably, one should not show up for a dance lesson underdressed, and at any rate, if she was insisting on Holly and Rose wearing dresses, it would simply not do for him to stand out. He was dressed in an altered black tuxedo, with a sleeveless white shirt and grey vest, to accompany his wings, with well-polished black leather dance shoes, as was only appropriate.
He found his way to the training facility quickly, and rather easily, given it was the place where he normally practiced his own dancing. Nobody was here at the moment, largely because this facility saw most of its use in the mornings, while the one across campus was where most people trained in the evenings. Perfect. Striding across the wooden floor, he turned on the large speaker in the back and connected his Scroll to it via Bluetooth. This would be good for pulling up some appropriate music later on.
However, it seemed he was the first to arrive.
To pass the time, he set about working through some warm-up movements, smiling to himself as he glided across the makeshift dance floor, awaiting the others. He wasn't left to wait for too long, however, as Ameli and her roommate arrived, the shorter of the two girls dragging a very reluctant Rose with her. He stopped and nodded his head to them politely, with a small smile. "G-good evening, the both of you. Shall we begin?" Mmm, yes. Weeks of being at Haven had finally improved his natural stutter just a bit. Enough. In spite of the slight speech impediment, he otherwise sounded quite confident.
And he was- social settings often made him nervous, but dancing? Set his mind at ease. He was really looking forward to this.

First, the heel briefly touched the floor, like a pair of lovers exchanging a romantic kiss. Then, her weight shifted forwards, the toes of her boots following suit. Each motion so fluid that one could mistake her walking for practically floating across the floor. Each graceful step echoed through the halls, rhythmic, decisive, consistent. Every step had the exact same pacing, the same exact sound, the same exact length. Like the girl was able to walk as a clockwork creation, never able to defy the laws by which she had been created. A machine, perfection. Determination, direction, singlemindedness. Effectiveness, gracefulness, elegance. Many singular words could come to mind once one laid eyes on the young blonde female currently working her way towards the destination.
The blonde hair had been received a light workover, curling the tips and giving her a more refined look. The usual armor that the class had likely only ever seen her wear had been exchanged for a dress for dancing. It was long, white, flowing down her figure like the river flows down a mountain. Gently toyed with by each step, the dress moved like it was it's own living thing. It reached to just below her knees, where the boots interconnected with thigh high socks, leaving not a singular speck of skin bare. Over her torso, she wore a blue cloak. It was tied around her collar, allowing the female some warmth, as the dress was tightened around her torso, leaving her shoulders and collar otherwise bare. With dignified grace, she knocked the door to their room, before stepping inside. Unlike what Jack may have imagined, she had arrived without Rose.
"Good evening, Jack." In a soft motion, she grasped the edges of her dress, bowing down into a short curtsy, as one should upon greeting a colleague under these circumstances. "Rose shall be joining us shortly. There was something which she had to do first, I believe."...
...Little less than two hours ago, is when work on Rose had begun. Frankly, that girl was a bit like an ogre. Nails hadn't been done, her skin hadn't been treated, her eyebrows definitely needed some trimming. So with tools, which Rose had reacted to as weapons of mass destruction, Améli had begun bringing forth Rose's more feminine sides. Which, unsurprisingly, existed underneath an armored exterior. A lot of armored exterior. Once all the pampering was done, Améli had applied only the absolute basics of makeup. Foundation, a light lip matte, a very sharp eyeliner... Too much makeup is indecent, be proud of who you are. Following the already torturous procedure, the dress up had begun. Well, normally Améli would've dragged Rose around for hours to find the perfect dress, but that was a luxury of time that they simply didn't have for this initial dance lesson. Thus, the dress was a little too large. How it looked, well.. It was decent last Améli had left Rose to her own devices, who knew what kind of condition it would arrive in now....
Taking a few steps into the room, Améli did a short delicate spin around herself, the dress lifting from her knees, allowing those above her eyeline to look down at her like a blooming flower... "It's been too long since I got to dance like this..." The voice in which she spoke was.. uncharacteristically emotional and warm.

It felt weird. No, scratch that. It felt strange. No...hell she didn't know! It just felt so freaking odd! Brows being plucked, nails sodded down, skin touched with powder and the like. Rose never had need for fineries or fashion and when she needed her nails trimmed, she would jut bite them off with her teeth. Girls from the city were weird.
But Rose couldn't lie, even though she squirmed and groaned at Amy's grooming and touching...deep down she was enjoying the pampering. Why? Was she just enjoying a new experience? Or was it that Rose was girlier than she led herself to believe? Shaking her head furiously, she continued to gasp and groan at the treatment even when she was forced into a dress, stockings, and more civilized shoes than her rugged boots.
The dress itself was a simple burgundy red with nothing special about it, aside from accentuating her muscular arms and white chest. She even brushed her hair properly and undid the tie in her hair to let it flow down to her upper back. It felt strange to look in the mirror and see a completely different person from the desert warrior she was accustomed to...did she like it? It was hard to say.
"This is ridiculous."
The girl opened the door to her dorm and left for the training facility, keeping her head up and eyes forward in determination. As she passed a few students who gave her surprised looks, she bared her teeth angrily and threatened them openly with a clenched fist. It was not a pleasant sight to behold. Yet she found her way easily enough and even arrived in a timely fashion to greet the others.
Rose gave a nod to both of them, blushing red as roses in her dress. She stepped up to Jack, shoes clacking as she approached, and held her hand out to him.
"Let's just...get this over with."
Her lips were quivering and she gulped angrily as she kept her eyes straight and sharp on him, not daring to look at Amy otherwise...well, she might faint. Which was unbecoming of a warrior to faint in front of a princess.
Slightly adjusting his tie, Ryan took a couple of deep breaths as his eyes focused on the door of the training facility. Slowly tracing the fabric of his graphite dancing jacket, he felt how snug it felt against his frame. The girl in the shop said it would be a snug fit but he didn't expect it to be this much. Shaking his head to focus himself, his hand ever so slowly approached to open the door. But stopped mere millimeters of making contact.
What was he holding him back? It wasn't his lack of dancing skills, he was damn aware of that and that's why he was here, to begin with. Maybe his looks then? Well, he had a sort of idea of how the jacket made him look when compared to his usual one. But it by no means meant that he thought he looked worse than usual. Quite the contrary actually. He, even if he said so himself, was dressed and looked quite well.
Besides the dancing jacket, he was using suit pants of the same color, a dark blue tie and neatly polished black dance shoes. His hair had also been neatly brushed, all in all, giving him a neat and perfectly aligned formal look perfect for ballroom dancing.
And yet, why couldn't he stop thinking that something was wrong with his attire? Every few seconds he had the urge to clean unexisting dirt or to brush hair that was not out of place. Maybe it was because Holly would be there?
Holly... At the mere thought of her, Ryan could feel how his face turned a deep shade of scarlet. His heart beating in some sort of expectation he had never felt at the mere thought he would be dancing with her. And yet, he couldn't bring himself to understand why he always felt like this when her name was pronounced.
Did... did he liked her? I mean, that's fucking ridiculous. Ryan barely could say that he knew Holly. And it is creepy liking someone you barely know... right? Well, they still meet every morning to eat breakfast and talk about whatever comes to mind. Mostly what she wants to talk though. And she liked to sit next to him in classes. Something that, in all honesty, wasn't doing any good to his grades. As he usually found himself drawing her than writing what was on the blackboard.
He shook his head once again. After all, this was not the occasion to waste time. For all he knew, they would be waiting for him and he was just there wasting time. Thus, with a deep breath, he pushed the door and entered the training facility. And, bless his luck, it seemed that Holly had not arrived there, giving him enough time to mentalize himself to whatever dress she would wear. If she already looked pretty in her white one he could only speculate how she would look in another one. And he was damn sure he wouldn't even make it justice.
After giving a small nod to all present, Jr's nod being accompanied with a warm smile, Ryan set to lean against one of the walls in the wait of his would-be dancing partner. Word Count: 539 Total Count: 539

Lily was a nervous wreck as she approached the door to the room in the training hall where this meeting was to take place. Nothing new there, just new anxieties producing the ever more familiar nervous energy in the pit of her stomach.
When did I become like this? She asked herself as she lingered frozen in front of the door. She'd never been comfortable in crowds, but she didn't use to freeze up each time the prospect of doing something new presented itself.
Breathe. Fight through the fear like the warrior you were meant to be.
Even in her thoughts, she couldn't call herself a warrior because she'd never measured up. The grimm she'd hunted had been nothing compared to her brother, who'd also bested her in every single one of their sparring bouts.
Thinking about that life however was detrimental to the mental soundness she was trying to muster up before entering. She stood there for nearly a full minute in her jogging sweats breathing to clear her head. She examined the white line of each pants leg for any speck of dust or grime, as well as the white flower on the bottom of the pantsleg. They were of course spotless, a little damp even from having to take them out of the drier early. She'd used them to run in the morning, and would have been embarrassed to use sweaty clothing around new people.
When did I get like this. she repeated in her head. Life was simpler without other people. There was so much she didn't understand about how to interact with them. Xanthe had told her a lot about interacting with people, but her advice was hard to understand and inspired a great many misconceptions in the faunus.
With one final breath, she pushed open the door and looked at the four people gathered inside. Each dressed more immaculately than the last. She stared in silence for a moment before asking in a voice too shrill to possibly be her own "W-Were we supposed to dress up?"
Her face had changed color to a dark red and she looked over her shoulder to the door as if contemplating flight, but turned back to those gathered, two of which were somewhat familiar to her, and two of which were not. She looked between the two girls, who were each dressed so beautifully that Lily felt out of place in the same room as them, realizing she wasn't sure which of them was the one who'd invited her.
"I'm Lily," she said looking at the two girls, ears down atop her head and eyes begging for help.
It is time. Holly had to be ready. Six hours might not be enough time to prepare considering the monumental task that lay before her. If she had known that she would wear her red dress today, Holly would have looked for a professional to assist her. Maybe booked a spa? It didn't matter anymore; It was go-time. Holly took a large bag labeled 'DRESS DAY KIT' from under her bed, opening it up to look at all the essentials. Soap, cremes, shampoo, conditioner. Everything she required for her transformation. While it wasn't the dance itself, if Ryan was going to see her in a red dress, she wasn't pulling any punches. Go big or go home, as they say. [break] [break]
How Holly managed to spend the next five and a half hours are a mystery. She entered a bathroom, closed the door, and went to work. But a few things were known of the event; Shouts and other sounds of frustration could be heard loud and clear from the other side at times. At times a faint burning sound could be smelt from under the door. The drain of the shower would never fully recover. Still, when the door of the bathroom opened, the results were crystal clear. Several students who saw Holly walking through the hallways of the schools must have thought that they saw a ghost, or an illusion. Still, seeing as other nicely dressed individuals were also heading to the same place in school, something was happening.[break] [break]
Holly arrived last in the Training Hall, arriving just moments after Lily did. Just like Rose, it was quite the transformation.[break] [break]
[break] [break]
Beginning with the girl's hair...it actually looked nice. Holly had managed to get the worst abuse that her locks had endured over the last 19 years ironed out. It looked rinsed, washed, and dried rather nicely, and the girl seemed to have applied some form of protective product to keep it together and looking somewhat shiny. Of course she could do anything about the split ends now, but it was still a monumental improvement over what it was before. All topped of with a rose, that seemed to keep her hair together. There was also some pink eyeshadow around her eyes that she normally wouldn't even dream off, but it looked to be somewhat decently applied. [break] [break]
Another very important aspect: She seemed to be a 100% dirt free. Her skins seemed to almost shine, and both hands and feet seemed to have been perfectly scrubbed, and while her nails still were not perfectly shaped from all the digging she normally does in the dirt, there seemed to be a fresh pink coat on them. [break] [break]
The dress was well, it was red. Holly had listened to Ryan, and together with Kishka and Rose this was one of the bounties they plundered from the Grand Bazaar when they went shopping. New on the dress was the pink rose on the front, that matched the one in her hair. Under the dress were even black high heels. The girl didn't seem to be all too comfortable with them, as her movement was rather stilled as she walked into the training room. Standing next to Lily she simply raised her hand, and still spoke in her usual deadpan tone. "I have prepared, and now I am here." After looking at Ryan, her cheeks blushed the slightest as she asked: "Does the dress match your expectations?"

Scorpion sting, I don't wanna

Huh.
Seemed his imagination was playing tricks on him. He'd probably been awake too long today; for a moment, it had seemed like the blonde girl before him had come into the room with her roommate in tow, but it seemed that was clearly not the case. Ameli greeted him with a curtsy, and he returned the gesture with a small bow and a kind smile. She was a perfect picture of elegance, and in her blue dress and cloak, seemed to grace the dance floor exceptionally well. And what was more, as she began to twirl around, light and graceful on her feet, he had to admire her form. True to her words, he could tell she had danced before, and likely very well, at that.
But before he could ponder any longer on that, the next arrival entered the room, and Jack blinked in surprise, as a girl he hadn't seen before stepped through the threshold, until he realized that it was Rose. Her hair was down, in long, flowing locks, and she was blushing fiercely, as she marched right up to him, holding her hand out insistently. Well then... That was a pleasant surprise. She cleaned up very nicely; Colton was definitely going to do a double-take at the Vytal Ball, that much was certain. "Good evening, Rose." He clicked a button on his Scroll as she extended her hand to him, triggering the music. Then, as it began to play, he accepted Rose's hand, gently drawing her in to a proper dancing position. "S-sure thing. We can start with a waltz- it's very simple, but a staple. Just keep your feet apart, and when I step forward with my left, s-step back with your right, like so..." As the music played, he did his best to guide Rose through the steps, very slowly at first, and if she caught on easily enough, he would speed it up until they were waltzing more fluidly, the whole time watching her feet and ensuring she was keeping proper form, with the occasional glance over to Ameli, who he assumed was watching and gauging the Vacuoan's progress.
Fortunately for him, the waltz was probably the easiest thing they could start with, given it was very lead-driven, so all Rose had to do was react to his steps, and mirror his movements.
As the two danced slowly across the floor, more people began to arrive, starting with Ryan. Jack smiled fondly as he noticed the taller guy enter the room, nodding approvingly at his exceptional taste in formal wear. Following shortly behind him, Lily stepped nervously into the room, and he shot her a fond smile as well. Of everyone present, these two were probably the ones he knew best, and he was pleased to see that they had both made it out, especially given their shy, socially awkward, natures. "Ryan, L-lily, I'm glad you two could make it. No worries, Lily, dressing up was, for most of us, optional." Ameli had definitely not given Rose the option. Everything seemed to be coming together well. Presumably, after he finished teaching Rose the steps, he could pass her off to another partner, so she could practice, while he worked with Lily, and eventually Ryan and Holly. Speaking of which...
The final participant of his impromptu dance class had arrived; he smiled, a little amused, at her bold announcement of her arrival. She, like Rose, cleaned up very well- in her case, though, the phrase was much more literal. Not that he ever minded the gardening dirt she always seemed to wear like a second skin- it suited her, and was reflective of her passion for growing plants, which was definitely a good thing. But seeing her freshly showered, with her hair meticulously washed, was a rare treat, that he imagined wasn't an every day occurrence.
"Good evening, Holly. I'll be with the three of you soon, okay? In the meantime, you all can get a feel for the music if you'd like." This was turning out to be a very interesting evening, already. He was as in his element as he could be, moving easily and gracefully across the floor, hoping that Rose wasn't hating this too much.
Maybe she was even enjoying herself? One could hope.

It only didn't meet up to his expectations, it fucking blew them out. From the very damn second Holly stepped into the facility, Ryan's eyes were glued to her as his brain processed the sheer beauty that graced them. For him, Holly alwas had been a pretty girl. So this was a hell of a shock. His mind struggling to keep up with what his eyes were telling it. He was even afraid to blink, as if this was nothing more than a cruel fabrication that would dissapear once he did so.
But as the seconds passed, he finally blinked. And, after opening his eyes and seeing that indeed Holly could be even prettier, the blush that had not appeared before now exploded in full force on his face. Wait? Pretty? No no no no. She was not pretty now. She was beautiful.
Bringing himself out of his stupor, he started to desperately wonder what he could do to make her understand what he thought. Speaking, obviously, was a no-go. And after quickly checking what little pockets his suit had, he realized he had left his notebooks in his other suit. Well, fuck his luck i guess.
What could he do though? After a couple seconds of pondering, he finally went with what first came to mind. After all, if he took longer she may believe the dress was no good. And my god, that would be a fucking lie.
And thus, Ryan walked towards her with a blush in his face, and, hoping that the magazines he'd read were alright, softly grasped one of her hands and raised before softly kissing the back of it while bowing to make up for the height difference. Afterwards he gave her a warm smile so, he hoped, she could see what he thought of her dress right now.
How he did that without fainting? Hell if i knew. Let's just say luck.Word Count: 320 Total Count: 859

She stood in front of Jack, trembling slightly as she kept her eyes focused on her feet. Her...fancy shoes that she borrowed. Shoes that didn't speak to her at all. What was she doing? This wasn't her...in this dress. With her hair down, an enemy could easily tug and pull at her. The only way to escape would be to cut her hair and use the temporary distraction to gouge the attacker before they could recover. Go for the solar plexus, cut off any hope of breathing, and finish with a quick snap to the neck. And then...
"Ah! Wait what-?"
In her thoughts, Rose was caught off guard when Jack had taken her hand. At some point there was music playing...music that was so comforting that it sent alarm bells going off in her head. Her body shook a bit more as she moved, not in control as he led her in the dance. No one had done such to her before and it felt so so very strange to her. Eyes widened and lips quivered as she turned even redder in the face. So lost in her own little world that she was shocked to hear him greet more people that arrived to the scene.
Glad you could make it!
A flash cut through her mind and the blonde gasped. Her breath quickened and the fires of the camp burned in her memory. She was not in control...they had her in their grasp and all she could do was go with it. There was a sounding that pierced her ears that tore at her conscious. Her hands were held tight...but they were held soft...what was-
She saw Jack's kind smile...and then saw the bandit leader's mocking grin. Soft hands that carefully guided and clawing ones that cut her. No...no this was not her. Those clawing hands soon were gasping at the man's throat as blood sputtered violently from an open gash that stained her once porcelain skin. Rose suddenly felt the urge to break free and tear at Jack as well.
The girl resisted as he stepped forth and back, but the resistance was so painful as she shook even more. God, what was that intense and piercing sound? The dress constricted her. Like a great snake constricting her body, looking to crush at her ribs. Not in control...no, she was not in control. She couldn't resist him, but why? Why couldn't she fight back? She fought back then so...but then she saw Améli and felt the pressure of the girl's gaze upon her. Her breath quickened and more people arrived. Her eyes darted around in terror, sweat leaking from her open armpits and along her palms. No, she couldn't do this.
Help...help! Someone help! I can't do this! FUCK I CAN'T!
Rose pulled her hands away from Jack and shoved him away with all the strength she had built up, knocking him away with reckless abandon. She trembled uncontrollably and grabbed at the dress to tear it asunder at the top, freeing a bit of her to breathe a bit easier. And as she looked to Améli with a look of fear mixed with agony, she realized something.
That sound she was hearing...it was her. It was Rosalia screaming.
Deep shame and an overwhelming sense of dread set in. Her face contorted tightly and tears poured down her face as the blonde turned on her heel and sprinted out of the training facility at full speed back, making a shameful beeline straight back to her dorm room. Any who would get in her way would receive a hefty bull tackle that would knock their asses into the air.

Améli, after her quiet introduction, simply stood aside, waiting for the others to enter. Most of everyone that had spoken of arriving, had arrived in decent time. Bowing her head as a greeting to each and every one of them, she leaned herself against the wall by the door, watching with mild interest as Rose decided to step forwards. Getting it over with, as if this was some kind of dilemma that had to be conquered and beaten, rather than enjoyed and learned from. The blonde female shook her head from side to side, letting out a soft sigh. What kind of life could possibly have brought a woman so far astray from the finer things in life? Perhaps it was something that Améli could learn more about her new roommates backstory of one of these days. Gazing over to Lily as the new girl entered, Améli pondered for a moment. "We don't exactly have enough dance partners that could fit a role for you to benefit from. Perhaps if you take turns with Rose & Jack we can still-"...
Améli was distracted from her thoughts, by the sound of sudden steps that sounded completely off-beat with the music. Skirting her eyes along the ground and taking an instinctive step towards the door, she noticed Jack and Rose having some kind of altercation. If Améli was to take a guess, based on what little information she had to discern, Rose had just attacked Jack somehow. Judging by the way Jack was stepping back, it seemed more like a shove than an actual act of violence though. Had he done something inappropriate, such as laying his hands on Rose's rear?... It didn't immediately seem that way. As Rose began charging off, Améli instinctively blocked the door with her own body. Running from issues, running from problems, was the last thing a warrior should do. "Rose, calm down, just tell us wh--"
Améli had felt herself be rather grounded. Bent slightly forwards, center of gravity where it needed to be. Prepared to accept Rose rushing into her, brace, stop the charge. Améli was one of the stronger females from the classes she had been in prior to Haven. Even so, before she knew it, the sound of wood breaking behind her was heard, as the doorframe outright broke. The girl had been shoved aside like some kind of pretty doll, falling sideways onto the floor as Rose rushed by. Améli hadn't been quite sure what had happened, and while she hadn't been outright damaged by this action - yeah, it did hurt quite a bit to be flung into a doorframe in such a crude manner - but Améli could take quite a bit of punishment... Lying on the floor, she looked up at the others with a confused expression colored across her face.
"...What just... Happened?"... It took a moment for Améli to get onto her feet. The beautiful dress was ruined, one of her high heels had sorta bent, forcing her to take off her shoes... "...Hang on, I gotta check up on my roommate. Apologies.." Unless anyone decided to try and stop her, Améli would leave her half broken high heels on the floor of the room, rushing immediately after Rose...
Holly nodded at Jack when he greeted her, but the girl's attention was soon directed to a more important boy. Not saying that Jack Jr. wasn't important at all...he was one of the few people who could make stuff with her plants and herbs, but Ryan was far more on the girl's mind right now. This dress was as much for him as it was for herself. Holly looked at the stunned man as he seemed to be flabbergasted. The clothing and effort to make herself look like this seemed to have its intended effect.[break] [break]
And when Ryan came over to kiss Holly's hand? The girl was first a bit uncertain why Ryan would take hold of her hand. Not that she did anything to stop it from happening. When he kissed her skin, Holly was very happy she had washed them as feverishly as she did. Still, all of the scrubbing did not remove the light layer of callous the girl had on her fingers from all the work she had done with them. All of the digging, all of the planting. The girl's cheeks seemed to have grown a shade more red after Ryan had completed the little courting ceremony, but they weren't as red as Ryan's head must have been. She greeted him with words, and she sounded happy to see the silent huntsman-in-training. "Good day, Ryan. Let's make this an unforgettable evening."[break] [break]
About the whole dancing aspect...Holly had no idea where to start. So, she just hoped that Ryan knew what he was doing. The took a few steps further into the room to not be overtly standing near the exit. She waited for Ryan to join her where she stood, holding out her hands slightly to indicate that he may take the lead in dancing with Holly. The supposed dance would not go on for long as Rose was having her episode. Holly looked at the girl with large eyes as she screamed and tore off her dress. At first Holly was somewhat scared. She had known what a terrible thing Rose could be when she was mad, even if she only fought against her once and she wasn't all that angry then. How terrible would the woman be if she was truly mad? Holly...didn't wanted to experience that. Her second thought was that this action might be some weird dance ritual that she just not understood. Was it normal to do such a thing? But when Holly was 95% certain that Rose was truly freaking out, Holly did the most sensible thing that she could She hid behind Ryan's large form. Like a little girl hiding from the big bad monster, Holly Hock made sure that there was a large 2 meter tall man in front of her to shield her from whatever action Rose might inflict upon everyone here. She held tightly to his leg, clutching the fabric of his pants, as she shivered for a moment. Her mind flashed back to the fight the two had had, and how it still left some residual fear of the demon woman. [break] [break]
As Rose stormed out of the ballroom, she would have passed Holly and Ryan, even though they were not directly in her path to the door. Still, all that Holly could think about was that Rose was just looking for something to beat up. Sounding truly scared for a moment, Holly yelped and almost begged Ryan who she was still using as a human shield: "Please! Don't let her hurt me again! She is out for blood!" Holly would not have been immediately calm when Rose left, still keeping very much on edge and scared that she could burst through the door at any moment.

Lily was glad to see Jack here, their brief encounter before had been a pleasant one, and it was nice to have the familiar face. While everybody else paired off and began conversing like they old friends they all seemed to be from her perspective, she stood quietly and studied Jack's footwork. A short while into this endeavor, she was snapped from her concentration by the girl she had intuited to be Ameli. However, she hardly recognized the words as a change came ovee the room. Lily recognized what was happening before Rose snapped. The slight shift in demeanor, the tensing of muscle, and of course the screaming. All clues that helped her piece together the subtle mystery that something had gone amiss. Her body moved on it's own. The instant she saw Rose tense up she filled in the rest. Trailing light behind her, she moved to intercept Jack before his sudden unplanned visit with the wall could take place.
Unfortunately for the well intentioned faunus, having the experience required to sense the danger, and the speed required to act on that realization, means very little if one lacks the strength to stop a human projectile being hurled by a huntress in training that possessed many times her own strength. As she tried to catch Jack, she wound up hurtling toward the wall with him. Her attempt to dig her heels in and stop the young hunter dead in his tracks instead took her completely off of her feet.
From there, her body reacted in several ways all at once. Her diaphragm contracted as she let out a surprised squeal. Her arms tightened around Jack, who she had caught too successfully. Her feet swung back moving to brace against the wall that was hurtling toward her, however upon impact her legs immediately buckled and she crashed first into the wall, and then onto the floor in a shared tangle of limbs with jack.
Her aura had absorbed the most of the damage, but she was still winded, and groaning in discomfort as she struggled in vain to disentangle her own limbs from Jack's. After a few moments of trying she just went limp, breathing as she closed her eyes. She asked herself what she had been thinking, but knew that she simply hadn't been. She'd been raised to trust her instincts and act upon them. Typically that trust kept her out of harms way, she thought sardonically as she turned her attention to the teen entangled with her.
"You uhh... doing okay? If you're able to move, can you roll over a bit? Maybe remove y-your thigh from the back of my neck?" her voice trembled somewhat as the uncomfortable closeness to another person set in and the shock of what had just happened faded.

Scorpion sting, I don't wanna
bleed
tell me that I'm not
lost
Huh.
The screaming tipped him off that something was wrong, in the largest understatement of the century.
"Rose...?" But before he could let Rose go and make sure she was okay, she ripped her hands away from his, and before he could process what was happening, she gave him a powerful shove, with all her massive strength. He hadn't even had time to activate his Aura, and in that moment, he regretted not putting in much more effort in training his Aura to protect him automatically, as many, if not most, of his classmates were already capable of doing. He had been keeping up with some of his training, though, with Doc- when Rose shoved him, it hurt, a lot, but not nearly as bad as anything his teacher had done to him so far- intuitively, he knew he'd cracked a rib or two as he stumbled back, hard and fast, into the wall. It was a familiar feeling at this point, and one he thankfully could deal with, at least temporarily.
The doctor had been harsh, but reasonable- fragile bones aside, he needed to be able to take a punch, even without Aura, and not just crumple. And, to his credit, he didn't really crumple. Much.
A searing flash of light shot by him, and his landing was softened by what registered a few moments later as Lily's body attempting to catch him. Wow, she was fast... He knew of her semblance, but he hadn't really experienced it firsthand like this before. Incredible. He landed clumsily on top of her, and winced as he hastily picked himself up, just as she was expressing her discomfort. "R-rose!" He tried in vain to call after her, but she was on a mission. "T-t-thank you, Lily... Are you okay?" Ameli stood in the doorway to try and calm her down, as Jack turned to help Lily up, with a grateful nod of thanks, but just as he had gotten the cat faunus to her feet, the girl who'd suggested this whole experience was batted aside by her roommate, sending her tumbling down, off-balance. Jack moved as quickly as he reasonably could over to her, eyes flickering between Ameli and the quickly-disappearing Rose.
He wasn't sure what he'd done, if anything- she had just completely snapped and had a complete and total freakout. He was worried for her, though; he didn't know Rose very well yet, but nobody just went completely off the handle for no reason, so something had to be pretty wrong to set her off like that, and he couldn't help but blame himself. What he'd done, he had no idea, but surely, there had to have been a reason...? And if not him, then what?
"Ameli! Are you alright? Here, can I help you up?" If she accepted his hand, he would help her to her feet, and make sure she could stand steadily. Having been on the receiving end of Rose's might, quite recently, he was a little concerned, but it seemed Ameli was built of sterner stuff than himself- she seemed fine, if a bit frazzled. Not that he could blame her; he was just as confused.
He noticed that her dress was ripped, as she stood, and glancing down, he grimaced at the realization that his jacket had also been torn in the scuffle. An inconvenience, but nothing terrible- his ribs, on the other hand, were less than pleasant. His Aura was very slowly working at the injury, but broken bones didn't mend too easily. He'd have to see Doc soon. But for the moment, he strode, or more accurately, limped, over to his bag to retrieve an ice pack and a roll of bandages, which he quickly applied to his ribs, while surveying the room. Ameli spoke as he moved to do this, and he only nodded at her before she ran off. He would have to message her and Rose later, to apologize properly. For now, however, the others were still very much in the room. Holly, Ryan, and Lily. The pinkette was cowering behind her very tall boyfriend, and it was equal measures precious and a little sad, that she was so scared of Rose- had the girl done something to Holly before? Ryan was as emotive as ever, and Lily was presumably well and on her feet now.
He scratched at the back of his hair, tentatively stretching his sore wings, and wincing at the strain moving his arm put on him. "I-i-i'm really uh... Really sorry, you guys, I don't- I'm not sure what um... What that was just now. I hope Rose is okay... D-do you three still want to um. D-dance...?" He was a little beat up, but he had been through worse- a little dancing wasn't going to kill him, and if anything, it was the exact kind of training Doc would approve of. Although, she'd likely have preferred being present to attend to his injuries.
More importantly, though, he'd promised to teach his classmates how to dance, and dammit, he was determined to do just that. Maybe next time, he'd have better luck with Rose, though...
