Bravery is believing in yourself, and that's one thing nobody can teach you.
The fact that this had been Rosalia’s idea wasn’t really relevant. After all, it was Colton who actually followed through with everything and it was Erytheia who paid for most of it. They were the real movers and shakers worthy of praise here.
Class Red had a portion of the class go roughing it in the woods to go shit in bushes and be cold as fuck for a weekend. It wasn’t exactly a secret, and the idea was hatched that Class Green should do something, too. Team building was important, after all, and if they were to be working together for the next few years it was important for them to get to know each other. Rather than deciding to go to a different patch of the wilderness, however, or invade Class Red’s little fiefdom of ants and feces… Well, let’s just say there were definitely some better places to spend a weekend.
So, thanks to some funding from Erytheia Hellebore, Class Green got a neat weekend long rental in an absolute gem of a cabin that was more than big enough for whoever decided to show up. Eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a large pool, a hot tub, outdoor recreation areas, and some general flat land outside for walking around and shit were all features of the building built off in a corner of the Cloud District by itself.
It had a big ass living room with a wooden rocking chairs and a really long and fancy couch. It had a giant kitchen with all the modern appliances one could ask for. It had a spacious dining room with a big balcony so one could eat with the view of the clouds and if the sky was clear even the view of the lands below. It was three stories high, with the second floor balcony having an even bigger balcony with no tables but a dozen wooden rocking chairs and a grill. It had a traditional gaming room with foosball and pool tables alongside a more modern entertainment room with two long couches and a giant television set alongside gaming systems and movies. On a third balcony rested a small upraised stone hot tub that was big enough to seat two comfortably at a time and four if you really squeezed in.
The bedrooms were spacious and had large beds and those standard hotel paintings over each bed to add to the atmosphere or whatever. Erytheia had arranged for a bus to take the majority of students along, but Colton had showed up a bit earlier with Rose because he had a personal motorcycle for shit like this and was definitely going to use it in order to get first dibs on a bedroom that wouldn’t be loud as shit all night, every night.
It was one of those places that didn’t look like much from the front, but holy shit the inside was insane for a house. It was the home of some aristocrat who needed the income of renting it now that they were running into financial problems, which worked out great for the trainees. After the stress of the midterms and the Exhibition Tournament, it was only fair that they got the opportunity to chill out for a bit and catch their breath. He had already thrown marked the biggest and best located bedroom for Erytheia, of course, because she had paid for majority of this. Colton, however, got the second biggest and second best located room because he was there first and made sure he was there first. It was just the way these things worked, after all.
For the moment, he had the television on at a local news station just for noise in the background while he lounged on the couch and just chilled out for the moment. His red motorcycle was parked out front alongside his gray helmet, and he was currently dressed in a stylish black leather jacket and blue jeans. His boots were next to the door, because he wasn’t going to track dirt and filth into the nice house and be fined for it later. He made certain to make that clear – that making the place filthy and destroying shit would get them fined individually for breaking shit.
And if they tried to weasel their way out of it, well… There was always beating them up until they paid up as an option. Just the threat of doing so would most likely be enough, if it came from him. With any luck, though, they wouldn’t have to resort to anything so unpleasant and could just chill out in a nice weekend getaway to let off some steam. He was absolutely positive that somebody would bring a few cases of alcohol as well, and was looking forward to the prospect.

This was the good life. That was what Holly was thinking at least when she stood in front of what was going to be the most bougie weekend of her life till this point. Holly had prepared for this when she heard where the Green Class was doing for team building. She didn't want to besmirch her maybe future lifestyle with the kinds of clothing she used to wear. If videos on this topic had taught her anything, she needed to dress for the lifestyle she wanted. So, Holly was dressed like a girl who could in her eyes afford to live in a damned cabin in the Cloud District! [break] [break] [break] [break] Holly was wearing a nicely shaped flower dress, with a yellow coat on top of it. She still wasn't wearing any shoes though, but other than that she looked like a normal girl. It was one of the outfits Holly had purchased in recent days now that she had gained at least somewhat of an income with growing plants and herbs. Speaking of which.[break] [break]
Holly had a few bags with her. One bag was her essentials Clothing, a toothbrush, and other such knickknacks that were needed to stay somewhere and remain decent. Well, decent enough to stay in such a cabin. Holly had lived almost all her life without such trifling things like soap or toothpaste. But since she had had that sweet taste of modern life, Holly just adapted to it. You cannot stay a weird plant girl forever if you want to achieve something. And Holly was attempting the heck out of that social leap into the high life.[break] [break]
The other bags that she had with her was filled with fruit and vegetables, enough for the whole weekend. She proposed bringing it to the cabin, so she did. It still was quite the ordeal to bring everything up her, but Holly was helped by a kind young man when she entered the Cloud District. Saying something like that a sweet girl shouldn't carry something so heavy. Holly's senses shouted stranger danger at first, but Holly came around to letting him carry her bags all across the cloud distract to the cabin. He asked for her number afterwards, but Holly refused. You don't give strangers your number! Well, in response he gave her his number, adding that if she ever needed help, she could call. Maybe this stranger was just a bit more trusting? Maybe he liked working out? He was kinda muscular. Also, it was kinda odd that Holly was given help now. She never received such an offer before. Was it because she was in the Cloud District, or because her appearance had changed? Hmm, maybe ask Kishka.[break] [break]
Holly entered the large building, finding the door to be unlocked. Damn, it was fancy on the inside too. Holly's first action was going to the kitchen to store all the food she brought. On her way over she passed Colton laying on the couch, but she first had to make sure all the delicious food stayed fresh. She did give him a greeting as she passed though, simply speaking in her deadpan voice. "I will store the food I brought; we want everything to stay fresh."[break] [break]
Ugh, Holly...using refrigerators. You are losing your wild island plant girl spirit...

Niraya wasn't too happy about having to go to a cabin for a weekend. but when she heard the other green class were showing up as well she relaxed a bit. on the day they were to go to the cabin, Niraya packs up some stuff. various bits and bobs she was working on for Jixie, some clothes, and some sleepwear. afterward, she goes into her scroll to read up on this cabin and finds it has a pool. She then packs some swimwear. as she was packing up Jixie beeps very sadly at Niraya as she was going to be gone for a few days. Niraya looks at Jixie as its face display showed sad puppy dog eyes. "oh alright you can come too." Niraya packs up Jixie's docking station and they head out.
The ride to the cabin was quite a bit surprising but they were on public transportation. She didn't see any other students on her bus so she just sat quietly. she was getting some strange looks every now and then. perks of being a faunus. though some voiced their opinions with a scoff or a humph. Niraya just sits there quietly petting Jixie who had a cat face on its display now. The bus eventually gets to the house and Niraya steps off to see it was quite rustic looking on the outside. Jixie flies around curious about the location. "Don't stray too far ok?" Jixie beeps to acknowledge what Niraya said.
Niraya heads on in and sees she wasn't the first nor the last. She waves at Colton but that is as far as her interaction would go. then she would hug Holly. "Hi, Holly!" After there greetings, Niraya would go to claim a bedroom and set up the docking station for Jixie. Jixie managed to get inside the house and was buzzing around the various floors exploring. when she found Niraya she zips on into her chest where Niraya catches her. "You having fun exploring?" A checkmark would now display on her face. "well that's good just don't stray too far from the house." She lets Jixie go have some fun.

Colt...that no good, double dealing, backstabbing, larcenist worm. He made it sound like the idea was stupid, or at least that's how Rose took it. A cabin in the woods? Nah, that's dumb! Oh, wait! Red Class is doing camping? Well fuck, then we've GOT to get out there and have some fun too! How about a nice cabin? Fuck you, Colt.
She didn't even really feel like going to the party, since most of her class was a bunch of wackos anyway. All touchy feely and getting up in each others' grill and shit! Pah, what a joke! Rose wouldn't go. No...no way. There was no way she would make an appearance at this stupid ass party!
But then she heard there would be lots of food. Lots of meats...and damnit she had never been on a vacation before! But then, she would be going against her own morals of getting involved with other people. Sure she had made friends...sort of, but that was beside the point! It drove her nuts as she sat there on her bed, looking at her scroll as the time ticked on by. Hell, what would she even wear? Who cares, right? It's not like anyone was gonna jump for joy at seeing Rosalia Phoenix...
"Damnit!"
She threw a pillow across the room, hitting her room mate's bed and grumbled in utter annoyance. Rose threw herself off the bed in a fuss and quickly got dressed. Just a simple pair of denim jeans with an oversized heavy metal graphic tee half tucked in. It was a bit chilly out, so she brought along her jacket and stomped out of the academy. Taking the transit was an interesting experience every time as she stared blankly at the other people on board. Though those who stared back received the angriest, nastiest look from the blonde. She tapped her foot in annoyance the entire ride to the cabin...though she had to admit, once she had arrived, Rose was taken aback by how swanky the place was.
"I guess being Green has it's perks from time to time...holy hell."
The girl kicked the door open, hands stuffed in the pockets of her jacket, and looked around lazily. Shit the place was big enough to house half of Vacuo, let alone one class. What a waste of space! Damned brats...she didn't bother taking her boots off at the door either. If something happened, like hell was she gonna book it in just her socks.
She heard the news playing in one of the rooms and breathed a sigh. Who the hell watched the news when trying to relax? Nothing but fake nonsense and boring drivel. Yet as she entered the room, the girl eyed her team leader and gave him a sneer.
"Yo, 'sup douchebag! Living the dream, are we? How's the cabin life treating Mr. Leader, eh?"
There was a bit of red on her cheeks as she leaned heavily against the wall, crossing her arms as she grimaced at being involved with this stupid little party.

Since arriving at Haven Lily had learned much about herself and the world around her. Though she'd been resistant to the idea at first, she was beginning to understand why Verne and Xanthe had been so insistant that she enroll. She'd been worried that maybe they had intended to throw her into school and then ignore her, but that fear had been unfounded as she would meet with her adoptive parents each weekend by their own request, and tended to get a call from Xanthe on her phone once every few days. In fact, Verne insisted on making the journey with her, guessing, offering her a ride in his "muscle car", a powerful vehicle with a funny nickname. Vehicles weren't her favorite mode of transport, but she acquiesced. It was preferable to travel with her surrogate father than in a crowded and unweildy bus. She would have plenty of time to force herself into uncomfortable social experiences, she would allow herself to skip this one.
And so, after Xanthe packed her two bulging suitcases filled with everything Lily could possibly need, and two bottles of very expensive Mistralian sake which she most certainly did not need. She also subjected Lily to an embarassing dress up session insisting that she couldn't go to her first party looking "frumpy", whatever that meant. She subjected Lily to a lot of painful brushing, but thankfully with enough squirming Lily managed to convince Xanthe that makeup was a bad idea. Unfortunately, she was not able to wriggle her way out of the a href="https://imgur.com/a/KVYWLbc"]Dress[/a] Xanthe had chosen for her to make her debut in. It was a pretty little dress with black bodice a white floral patterned skirt. A black silk ribbon secured the dress around her waist cinched with a pleasant looking bow.
Xanthe did not allow her to wear leggings, and instead had her wear some strange knee high leggings. When Xanthe had produced them Lily eyed the woman suspiciously, as it seemed unlikely that they had belonged to Xanthe and they were apparently unused. They fely silky on her legs, which had been shaven under duress by Xanthe and were pretty noticably nicked in some places. Perhaps why the stockings were necessary she guessed. The final piece of her outfit was the small black shoes that fastened with a buckle of all things. It was unconventional shoe design but it got the job done. Plus, they were far more comfy than the high heels Xanthe had attempted to coerce her into, but Lily drew the line at footware with no purpose except to make walking more difficult. Shoes were meant to protect your feet while you walk not... whatever heels do to your feet.
After all that, Lily soon found herself zipping up the mountain roads with Verne, looking like a fish out of water whose face couldn't decide to be green or pink. Until now, she'd only ever worn dresses at home or at the store, and only ever in front of Xanthe. The thought of being dressed like this in front of her fellow students mortified her, and thus she constantly felt her face growing pink at imagined possible reactions to her looking like this.
Mercifully, her stomach caused her enough agony to distract her from her social anxieties. She'd only really ever traveled by airship before, and that was in an enclosed space. In a vehicle with everything zooming by so fast, the faunus' eyes couldn't keep up, and she was constantly dizzy in her attempts to make her eyes work fast enough. In the end, she managed to do so by activating the same ability she employed in speed reading to help her keep up. However, this only helped so much, and left her with a headache after too much sustained use. Finally an infinitely amused Verne suggested she take a look at the bigger picture instead of what was right in front of her eyes. From the point forward she was much less nauseated, and didn't even feel the weight of impending social discomfort. She was simply enamoured with the sight of city shrinking below them as they made their way ever closer to the peak and the untamed wilderness beyond. Before she knew it she was being dropped off with an encouraging "Do your best." from Verne, who was gone before she had even reached the door struggling with an overstuffed suitcase in each hand.
You can do this. she told herself as she fumbled opening the door, not thinking to simply sit a suitcase down while trying to work the door's knob. In the end she arrived after a host of students. Some more familiar than others, but none that Lily could claim to know. She sheepishly announced herself with a hasty "Hello!" before scurrying off to stake a claim to one of the rooms, where she promptly ensured that her weapon was indeed packed in the suitcase that had been set aside for essential items. One of the prongs had somehow punctured her bottle of shampoo, and she took cleaning her weapon and many other of her personal affects of shampoo in her room bathroom's sink as a welcome distraction from leaving the room and facing several relative strangers in such an embarrassing dress.

Cloud District, huh...
Jack hadn't really expected to be in a swanky mountain cabin in the upper crust side of town, honestly. His family did well for faunus small business owners, but they were solidly middle class at best, which arguably might even make them pretty well-off by the standards of all the faunus in the Ground District.
Maybe he was a little awestruck and a hint uncomfortable with the ritzy three-level estate. It was far too palatial to call it a simple cabin, after all.
His dad had given him a lift, since he was leaving from the restaurant, so he didn't arrive with the shuttle that had carted most of the class over, which was fine, frankly. He had plenty to do, anyways. He had volunteered his craft as soon as he heard there would be a grill at the cabin- sure, they could have brought snacks or something, but he figured his class needed heartier fare, and the responses he got from the group chat reflected that, for sure. So in a handful of shopping bags laced over his arms, he carried a few pounds of ground beef, a pound of ground turkey, a few packs of hot dogs, some spare ribs, and a separate bag with portobello patties and veggie dogs. And of course, an array of toppings for all of these cookout favorites. Hopefully someone else brought chips and drinks...
Stepping into the cabin, he found that he was far from the first one there. The first person he spotted, about the same time Rose did, was Colton, who he headed over to with a thin smile and a wave, and a fair amount of distance between himself and the blonde. He was still a little shaken up by their last encounter, when his dance instruction, requested by Ameli, had ended with him being thrown at a wall. Not exactly an ideal first impression. "H-hey Colton. Uhh. Rose. G-good to see you guys. Grill's um. Upstairs, yeah?" He lifted his shopping bags demonstratively, still keeping a cautious eye on the admittedly frightening girl. She wasn't as intense as Doc, maybe, but he still wasn't sure what he'd done to set her off before, and like hell was he trying to do it again.
At the soonest affirmation of the grill's location, he gave them another smile and a nod, before heading towards the kitchen, where he was greeted by the sight of Holly, stashing away tons of fruits and vegetables. Nice. Plenty of potential sides, fresh toppings for those who wanted them, and arguably just good snacks on their own. Good to see he wasn't the only one who had thought to bring food.
He stuck his bags into the fridge, except for a roll of ground beef and one of the veggie dog packs. That way he wouldn't have to come back down right away, after the grill was set up and cooking. "Hey Holly. Um, good to see you. Have y-you seen Ryan around yet?" He hadn't seen Ryan since he'd come in, but he was definitely going to hang out with him at some point over the weekend. He headed back out of the kitchen, towards the stairs. Grill was on the second floor, he was pretty sure...
As he headed up, he was met by the quickly-moving Lily, on a mission to secure her bedroom, but she seemed to be in such a hurry, he could do little more than offer her a smile and a wave as she passed. Guess she was still getting used to big crowds.
Well, he wasn't much better. But he had a perfect strategy for dealing with that- as self-appointed grill master, he would have time to interact with everyone in the class, but he wouldn't be bombarded by them constantly, just whenever someone got hungry and headed up to grab a burger. A perfect plan.
Disregarding the fact, of course, that Rose would likely be one of the ones rushing up to grab food, as soon as it was ready. Which was a frightening prospect- hopefully, he could cook to her standards, or he feared she might freak out and throw him off the balcony or something. Ah well. Such was the life of a cook. A dangerous, but fulfilling, one.
He made his way up to the second floor balcony, moving through the game room with an approving glance. Colton and Erytheia sure knew how to pick a place. And if that had impressed him, then the grill really got him excited.
It was, at a glance, a simple, medium-sized charcoal grill, but as he opened it up for inspection, it was readily apparent that this was a rather nice model, with a few cooking racks for grilling up multiple things at a time, and to his pleasant surprise, it was already loaded up with charcoal, and the bag was tucked behind the grill. He'd brought his own, but if it was being provided, no reason not to use it, right?
He lit the grill and waited, letting it smoke up until the coals were white hot, and in the meantime, he set up his little prep station next to the grill, on the thick, wide, edge of the balcony railing, atop a cutting board he'd brought. Quickly, the burgers were shaped into thick, meaty, patties, and he veggie dogs were laid out and ready. He had cheese in his bag, and chopping a few onions, pickles, and tomatoes didn't take too much time.
Things were all set. Now just to wait for some hungry students to come searching for a bite to eat...
