[attr="class","RDcontainer"] [attr="class","RDcontent"] Whatever desires might have crossed Solomon’s mind at the sight of Holly, the feeling was not mutual. Not in the same way. Solomon could have been a sack of potatoes, and Holly would most likely have found the same kind of attraction all things being equal. Hmm, that wasn’t exactly true, but it wasn’t Solomon’s dashing looks of a walking corpse that was attractive to Holly. She just didn’t care that much for that aspect. It sounded incredibly corny, but it was the inside that honestly compelled people to Holly to pursue anything that could be labelled as romantic. Despite her earlier internal bravado, the girl was happy with how things turned out. Not scary. Not… being afraid that anything might hurt if things played out differently. [break] [break] Holly waited patiently for Solomon to say everything that he wanted to say. The girl had come to a point where she didn’t expect and kind of malicious intent from the violent cyborg. She had asked for his help, and she knew that Solomon would not plainly refuse. When it became clear that he was going to give Holly advice, the pinkette was ready to accept whatever point he wanted to make. She loved Solomon; of that she was clear. You listened to your loved ones. You hear about their opinion on things even if you disagree with them. If you do not, that relation very quickly becomes one-sided. One person talking, and the other person just patiently listening and doing whatever the other person says. It is supposed to be a two-way street kind of thing. While the fire of her righteousness still burned, Holly tried to make sense of the words that were spoken to her. [break] [break] Solomon… didn’t had a nice voice. It was commanding, sure…but Holly didn’t like the sound too much. It was rough. Like sandpaper. Sorrowful and sad sandpaper. As Solomon had grasped Holly’s hand and looked into the Dragon’s eye, Holly also very much felt again how damaged his hand was as well. Like…sandpaper. Was Solomon more sandpaper than man? Rough no matter which way you looked at it? Still, being sandpaper won heavily over showing no sign of affection or having no voice at all, and Holly had been able to deal with that for an extended period of time. [break] [break] A lot of what Solomon said seemed to resonate with the girl in some shape or form, as what she did while listening was nodding and giving little hmm, yes’s. The biggest reaction Holly gave was a soft audible “Boop.” when Solomon bopped her forehead, and another “Boop.” when she was touched between her breasts. They were but small noises, and they seemed tremendously childish considering the situation and subject matter. [break] [break] It was honestly something that Holly did on automatism and didn’t even register that she had done it just now. [break] [break] It was a stupid thing that her sister Clair did whenever she tried to annoy Holly when they were little. Sneaking up on Holly and poking her at the back of the neck, shouting ‘BOOP’ in her ear as loud as she could before running off. Holly never knew how she came up with the idea, but it was rather annoying, and it seemed to bring young Clair an immense amount of joy. So, Holly let her do it. The Hock’s didn’t have too many material things to keep them happy, so if Holly could bring a smile to her young sister’s face by letting her do this one very annoying thing…Holly would adapt. As a result of this, Holly had a built-in boop-mechanism. If booped, say ‘boop’. You will never be surprised if someone screams it in your ear. [break] [break] While this might have started out as trying to give advice, Holly noticed quite quickly that this turned into some weird exercise of self-help and all that. The words that Solomon spoke moved him more than Holly, but his hurt and physical reaction did stir Holly. She placed one of her hand’s on Solomon’s shoulders when he turned away. The words seemed to hurt her friend, and Holly’s eyes almost begged her to stop. Her mouth did not stir though. It is important that he says these words for himself, just as much as it is for me. [break] [break] What Solomon had said was… both obvious and sweet. A reminder for Holly to take care of herself, and let the worst of her grief and emotions find a place before she settled on an approach to move forward. The first response that Holly gave was a quiet smile, before a word of thanks. [break] [break] “You know, if someone had said those words to me a few days ago I could have prevented a lot of pain and suffering for others. And myself. If someone of the faculty had begun with anything in that direction on the day we returned from Rochdale, with the same compassion, I wouldn’t have been such a massive bitch to other people.” [break] [break] Not knowing at all how much Solomon was in the gossip loop, Holly just splurged out the truth. Her words were more monotone than at any moment during the conversation. Like playing back a tape that Holly had in her inventory of her mind, but didn’t wanted to vividly relive emotionally. Still, Holly believed in telling friends who you loved the truth. [break] [break] “I cornered this new girl Rin Hellebore in the showers. I didn’t think straight. I intimidated her, forced her to give me a message, and I think I threatened her with making her days her a living hell if she didn’t bow down to me. I ended up naked, crying, covered in oil on the ground.” [break] [break] It was honestly a way worse experience said out loud, and Holly immediately noticed that it truly sounded horrible. She only snickered, taking back her hands, and burying her head and mouth in them for a moment as she screamed loudly into her own palms which muffled the sound to some extent. Honestly, a pillow would have helped better…but they were under her bed and not above it. Because she was a normal person. She screamed for honestly a solid few seconds. Letting out a lot of frustration at how damned villainous she was, Holly seemed to have at least found one way to deal with what she had done. [break] [break] After uncovering her face, the pinkette seemed…stable enough. The scream had helped her in some way. She commented on the fact that she knew quite well what she had done. It was also rather introspective, and the thoughts about her underlying motives were most likely not her own with how she worded them. [break] [break] “I have already had a moment in which I took out all my frustrations on someone else. I had felt so powerless during Rochdale that I gripped to any kind of power I could take hold off. I thought that I could control my emotions, that I could control the new girl, and I could control at least something in my life. With force. It backfired, as it should. I am happy that Rin is free of me, because she deserves someone better than I was at that moment. I don’t think that I am a good enough person yet, so I will approach her when I am ready.” [break] [break] Feeling rather down about freely admitting her past actions, laid down on the bed from a sideway angle. Holly needed a pick-me-up. The bed was horribly soft for her, even with vines growing on it. She patted the overgrown bed beside her, asking non-verbally for Solomon to join her in the act of looking at the ceiling, apparently. Her head just barely bumped into the wall. Looking up at her ceiling, it looked more like a canopy than anything else with how tightly the vines and other plants covered it up. One felt like they were more in a dense forest than in a room with the amount of green in every direction. The sight of it calmed Holly though. It felt safe. [break] [break] Holly actually addressed what her plans are that she wanted Solomon’s aid in as she kept looking up. [break] [break] “What I want to do is this; I want to do what I can to prevent as many Rochdale’s as I can. I am not a great fighter, and I would honestly be wasted on the battlefield. I want to use what talents I do have in the best way possible. Give myself a better purpose as a huntress.” [break] [break] Placing her hands on her belly, she was silent for a short moment before she continued speaking. [break] [break] “I want to approach the Peasant Party. The actually seem to be looking out for the people in villages. I want to write a letter and state who I am, and what I have seen. I want to help them within the…’system’, and try to bring about change. I have heard in the news that they might lose their council seat, and I don’t want that to happen. Who else will speak in favour of villages like Rochdale then? If they want to publish what I am saying, that is for them to decide. I will offer to give them food supplies, and be all cute in front of a camera if they ask me. I am quite powerless alone, but if I can let other people make use of my talents to help Rochdale…then I want to pursue that path.” [break] [break] The words were said quietly, the girl seeming to be committed to do something…but she didn’t seem fully convinced that this plan was the right plan. She wanted to help the people who were abandoned by the Council. Those who were far from their sphere of influence. With the upcoming elections, even Holly caught some wind of what was happening. The Council had failed Rochdale, but elections meant that things could change for the better. Or well, if the Peasant Party could keep their seat…it would not get worse. [break] [break] |
