HAVEN'T YOU HEARD WHAT BECOMES OF CURIOUS MINDS?
Altalune wasn't too sure what to expect when Nasrin began to turn around from the presence of her arrival. When she turned, it made her recoil slightly, something seemed off. Altalune could sense something was off, and whilst Nasrin began to speak, she listened intently, as she did with anyone that spoke to her. She did vere away from the hand for just a second, before allowing her to stroke Alta's cheek. It felt weird, and whilst Nasrin gave off loving, mother-like tones, that was wasted on a girl like Altalune. After all, she's never had family. It just creeped her out. Then, Nasrin did something she didn't expect.
She gave the location of where the slavers were taking their captives. She didn't expect this turn of fate, but also... if they were just going to be farm workers... maybe it wasn't so bad? She still didn't like the fact it was faunus workers, not one bit. Maybe she could take her frustration out on those human hobos that still refuse to leave... That thought caused Altalune to shake her head a lot, clearing her mind. She was not going to become what she sought to destroy, she will not become a mindless murderer for the facility!
Nasrin had given her the choice to go fight them, and kill them. So much potential to redeem herself and become a hero she should've been viewed as... but something else gnawed in the back of her mind. The police were already hunting for her, and no doubt the no-fun-lizard was as well. No doubt Alina and the Kozaks too. She would be alone in this venture. Being alone for it would probably get her killed, and there was so much more of the world to see.
Clenching her fist for a moment before she relaxed herself, grumbling to herself before she rested a hand on her blade and sighed. "I guess ice cream would be nice... what are you getting Erikk then? And me for that fact." She approached the girl she was beginning to have doubts on, with her head tilted as she made the question. "I could do with a new set of rags and clothes I guess... I gave someone my Atlesian parka and I doubt I'll get another that good."
Erikk stayed on his bench and watched the trouble he caused unfold infront of him. It did give him some adrenaline rush, but not as much as it would've done if he had done it himself. Although, things went from bad to down-right dogshit almost immediately. The hobos almost immediately got locked up which made Erikk start to "pack" up and leave, when that screech halted him in his tracks. It sent fear and chills through his bones straight to his soul as he slowly collapsed on the bench. His eyes scanned for the source as he felt tired, lethargic and exhausted to find the problem. A Manticore flying overhead and an Apathy chained to his chest. He's heard rumours of Apathy and the things they can do, but to feel it in the flesh? It was horrific.
Just as he felt like he was about to close his eyes to "sleep it off", he watched as white fire ignited the beast inside the cage, and he could feel his motor functions working properly as it died, allowing him to sit back up and continued admiring the situation happening infront of him. With the Apathy down, what else could be done to kill the Manticore? A deafening cannon blast would do it! As his hearing began ringing from the incredible blast, he watched as the Manticore got obliterated out of the sky. Whatever that was, if he could get to Haven for once, he wanted to talk to them. That was a semblance worth testing his endurance on. If he could tank something like that, he could tank anything. For now, with the immediate threats taken care of, he continued watching the scene play out infront.
The heat from the scorch was unbareable, but was beginning to die down as she watched some pink haired girl dart around and help everyone out. Some of the huntsmen here were strong, for sure. Admirable and it was even pretty good efforts all around, however whatever sent them had outfitted them extensively. Taking her scroll out, she began texting a message to Holly with updates.
"Shows over this end, Manticore and Apathy attacked, hobos locked up, heat stroke in the civilians. Someone else had the same idea as us. Going to look for those and maybe crack some skulls. Don't wait up for me." Once it was sent, he pocketed it and stood up from his spot and walked through the crowds. Recognising a face from one of his first nights here carrying a girl who was puking and vomiting, he wanted to go help but thought better against it. She'd ask question then that would cause problems for him, so he left it and kept pushing forward. Keeping his rugged cloak on and hood up, he past the boundries and began searching the forest for signs of a camp or something that could've held those creatures.
His knuckles needed to be bloodied again, it's been too long.
As dramatic as the Grimm attack had been, the efforts of both Alina and Carmim to take down the menace quickly and effectively meant that no one had to die during the assault. Sure, some people were affected by the residual heatwave, but considering the danger posed by the Apathy sipping everyone’s energy from above, no one would hold it against the Kozak for securing the kill.
Furthermore, thanks to Russet’s quick thinking. The people most affected managed to hold on fine for the moment, as soon as the foreman and the rest of the bystanders started reporting the problem, it was sure that more medical help would sure arrive to help the people fully recover and be evacuated.
It was still possible that a few stray Grimm or even small packs of them arrived to give our heroes trouble. Especially considering all the negativity still pooling in the air from the Apathy attack. But with how many Haven students and Kozaks there were present in the area, the possibilities of them doing any lasting damage were slim unless a particularly nasty one somehow managed to slip past them.
All in all, the workers seemed to be, at least, safe for the time being. And if they could be convinced that the threat was over, they were still in a good enough condition to start working on the repairs again.
The only ones not happy with the current state of affairs were obviously the bandits... -They lasted like 2 fucking minutes! What the hell do they feed kids these days? Nitroglycerine!? Do they know how many orphans did I need to feed that fucking manticore to keep it calm? No, I’m sure they don’t!-
Screamed the blonde bandit leader, grabbing her binoculars and smashing them against the floor in a fit of rage. Cursing loudly as she looked around her, wondering how to proceed from then on. So much trouble to acquire those Grimm and they ripped them apart like thin paper... -Boss... Should we attack or something?- Asked a nearby man, likely nothing more than dumb muscle or a particularly beefy meatshield in the best cases scenario. Useless all of them, not a single one of them would be useful against people that could take those Grimm in such a short amount of time. -You wanna be blown to smithereens or burned to a crisp? Because I know I don’t. So If you are feeling suicidal today you are free to assemble a team and go for it...- Sarcastically spat the woman, grabbing a nearby machete and roughly handing it to the man who asked the question before she spat on the ground in disgust. -The rest of you! Pick up the camp boys! We are cutting our losses!-
And with that, they started picking up their things. A couple of them looked like they wanted to try and cause some more trouble, but most were feeling too dejected and defeated to even try. At least, they were still alive to tell the tale. For now...

[break]
[attr="class","nikki109"]”Sienna, try to prevent escape before I get there. Russet, stay in the crowded areas and do what you can. Out.” [break][break]
Alina was on the move instantly upon hearing that Sienna had found the camp, pulling out her scroll and moving directly to the coordinates where her friend was. ”Need to find out who they were working for and how in the actual fuck this happened. Out.” [break][break]
If someone else got there first, the next Apathy attack could very well kill everyone present. That particular type of Grimm was almost never going to take out a settlement or anything except by way of sabotage or extreme bad luck… but it did traditionally kill everyone that it first came into contact with. The second wave could always prepare and have a strategy for it, but the first were often just goners. [break][break]
The wolf faunus ran towards the coordinates as fast as she could, dodging the people she could and shoving the people she couldn’t out of the way. Russet’s voice came over the radio saying the heat stroke victims were fine, and a smile crept on Alina’s face as she heard it. ”Good job. We’ll talk about what they were later when shit’s less wild. Out.” [break][break]
When she got closer, Alina barked out orders for Sienna so she could react and help her find what she needed to find. ”Stall anyone from coming here until I can find the leader. We need them alive or we’ll never find out what the fuck happened. Nothing else matters, out.” [break][break]
She had an idea on how to bring that out, and it was honestly one of her favorite acts to put on. The metallic drawing of her sword and complete lack of any attempt at stealth made her approach audible, and when she burst from the underbrush into the camp she bellowed without transmitting on the radio so that everyone around could hear. ”The one who points out the leader of this group gets to live. Until then…” [break][break]
She threw her sword, then, at the nearest opponent. He looked panicked and didn’t have decent gear on, so the chances of him being the leader were slim. The blade went through his chest and knocked him backwards into a tent. She had already fired three shots from her sidearm earlier, and at this point she drew it and fired the other seven as the bandits around her got their wits about them and started fighting back. She shot to wound and not to kill at this point, but her aim was honestly bad enough that there wasn’t a real difference in results from her intentions. [break][break]
This type of threat only worked if you really were willing to kill every last person present, and luckily this was a case where Alina absolutely was. She could have dodged the bullets flying back at her, but that would’ve frankly been less intimidating than simply ignoring them. Bullets ricocheted off of her body from most directions, and instead of making any move to dodge whatsoever she instead kept walking forward and pulled a stripper clip of ten more bullets from a belt pouch and reloaded her sidearm. She walked towards one of the bandits that she had downed with a shot to the leg and pointed the barrel of the sidearm at his head, fully intending to fire until he cracked and pleaded for his life by pointing at a blonde woman trying to get away and proclaiming that she was the leader. The shift in the demeanor of those around her from shaky confidence that they could overwhelm her with superior numbers to the broken hopelessness that most of them looked at her with was gratifying, frankly. It was good to know she hadn't lost her touch in that department.[break][break]
”Thank you. You’re free to go.” the wolf faunus would say before sprinting towards the direction of the woman in question. Those that still shot at her, Alina would shoot back. ”Not interested in you fucks.” she’d shout as she did in the chaos, with most of the bandits turning tail and running by this point. To Alina’s surprise, though, there seemed to be a few willing to turn against their former leader with gusto. She might’ve even got away, or at least led them on a merry chase if three of her former subordinates didn’t charge at her and grapple her to the ground. As Alina made her way over, the three verbally expressed their desire that this act would cause the wolf faunus to spare them… apparently they didn’t think that the offer to run was valid. [break][break]
They were right, of course, but not in the way that they thought. It was one hundred percent true that Alina wasn’t actually going to kill anyone she said she wouldn’t, but she also knew damned well that there was a legion of bloodthirsty Haven trainees just outside who would be more than willing to chew through bandit intestines and soak themselves in blood for funsies or whatever. [break][break]
”Thank you, friends. You’re free to go, and lady…” Alina snapped the middle finger and thumb of her left hand before opening it to cradle a white flame in her hands. ”You’ll find that running isn’t in your best interest, yeah? You’ve seen what happens to people I hit with this.” [break][break]
The flame was dismissed, then, and the three turncoats ran with appropriate haste and allowed Alina to take a closer look at their leader – which either wasn’t a fake or was a convincing one. She had better weapons, better equipment, and obviously more resources because she didn’t even really look the part of a bandit leader. Tall, blonde, and even wearing makeup of all things on her nice little mission to unleash a bunch of Grimm. She was saying something to the former soldier, but frankly Alina was tuning it out. She wasn’t resisting, which was the important part. [break][break]
The woman had throwing knives and a machete on her person, and when Alina holstered her sidearm and moved her hand up to turn back on her radio the dumbass even tried to lunge at her with speed that would’ve caught most other people off guard. She drew the machete surprisingly quickly, and this time the wolf faunus did dodge out of the way by stepping to the right and then dropped to do a leg sweep that floored the bandit and caused her to fall down face-first. Alina would put a knee to her back, then, and open with a warning. ”Move again before I tell you and I shoot your legs out and carry you out. Drop the machete.” [break][break]
The bandit complied, and the freshly drawn sidearm having its barrel jammed into the base of her neck probably helped. ”So, you’re in a bit of a pickle here. Because of the little stunt that you pulled, all the huntsmen out there want to tear you apart and will take great pleasure into killing you in the most gruesome and over the top manner possible.” The former soldier leaned in with her head to prevent the next part from being overheard, because she did hear the sounds of fighting in the distance. Others probably found this camp, and the fleeing bandits were fighting for their lives against others right about now most likely. [break][break]
”Here’s what’s going to happen. You’re going to drop all weapons and we’re going to pretend you were a hostage. We’re going to walk you back to the site, and we’re going to have a long chat in private. Now, if you’re a good girl and give me the information I need in our chat, I’ll let you walk away from this. If you make this difficult, I have no problem ripping you into pieces and cauterizing the wounds to keep you alive until you finally break down in some basement in some run down and abandoned warehouse somewhere in the Ground District. Do we have an understanding?” [break][break]
The bandit, having no choice, voiced an affirmative. ”Good. Now play along so the bumble fucks around us don’t suspect anything, or they’ll kill you. If you decide not to be useful, I’ll throw you to the wolves and have no problem letting them know what you did.” [break][break]
The wolf faunus holstered her sidearm and lifted her knee from her target’s back, roughly pulling her up as she did. From there, her entire demeanor changed. ”Oh dear, those bandits really made a mess of your outfit.” the former soldier would start, pulling away the gear and weapons of the bandit leader as she did. ”It must have been so hard for you to get captured like that, I’m going to get you out of here – okay? Take my hand.” [break][break]
There was a second of hesitation, but the suggestion slash command was followed and Alina immediately yanked the former bandit leader close. ”Can’t have the all mighty heroes coming to save the day to get the wrong idea and have a case of mistaken identity, yeah? Just stick close and try to keep me in between you and any guns or wacky semblances, okay?” [break][break]
Right hand moved up to her helmet as she turned on the radio once more. ”One hostage from bandit camp rescued. Coming back to main area since it looks like the hostiles all scattered. Be careful for residual fighting, out.” [break][break]

"Roger."
Stopping them from leaving would pretty straight-forward and didn't actually require any effort on her part. They never noticed her presence, so as far as they knew, they were still hidden. As a result, even once they decided to abandon whatever their plan was, they took the sweet time packing up all their stuff. No reason to abandon everything, not only losing them money, but also leaving traces of their camp, when they didn't have to she supposed. Regardless, she kept an eye on them as they rolled up their tents and gathered their supplies, careful to stay out of sight, watching for any stragglers or scouts that might be trying to be leaving the area until Alina got anywhere. No one tried anything in the end.
Once Alina arrived, she gave her a nod and another vocal acknowledgement that she understood what she was supposed to do. A distraction huh? There were several ways she could do this, but for once, she didn't actually think she needed to make anything up. If the bandits knew there were some lesser Grimm to the north then it seemed like they'd be attracted to the distress at the construction site. It was only a matter of time before the rest of those Beowolves and whatever else was lurking around the outskirts showed up there. Getting everyone ready for that was probably a good idea. So, she looped back to the fire to make sure her fire break was still holding up and to put out any residual embers where it was safe to do so, before heading back towards the construction site from the north. It'd be more plausible that she found signs of something if she came from that direction she figured.
The construction site was pure chaos. People were running around everywhere, bumping into each other and getting nowhere. Where the hell did they think they were even going to go? Back into the forest? She tried to move towards the stage to hopefully have a better chance of getting their attention, but she just kept getting shoved and knocked down. Maybe she could have gotten there if she used her semblance, but for one, she didn't have much aura left and figured she should save that for something more important, and for two, all this shouting and screaming was stressing her out and making it hard for her to think clearly. So she just opted to shout from where she was standing.
"Calm down everyone it'll be okay! Look, there's a bunch of--" an elbow to the gut interrupted her momentarily as she coughed and stood back up. "A bunch of heavy equipment over there! You can use it to hide." No effect. It didn't even seem like most people heard her. "Look, I saw signs of more Grimm coming from the north, you all need to--"
Unfortunately, she had already said that, quite loudly too, before she realized that was a really bad idea. She buried her face in her palm and let herself be knocked over again as the people in her immediate area started panicking more. Great job Sienna. At least the Haven students would probably be really distracted from all this.

Introducing New Problem: Prepare for the Lesser Grimm (Combatants 10)

I saw the blood slowly leaving my body and into the IV bag. Jack was everything you could expect from a health-trained individual. He caught up to my idea instantly and began the transfusion as soon as he could. The poison was going to be another deal. But as soon as he managed to stabilize Chloro and her aura began to manifest anew. Then Dawson’s semblance could take full effect and pull her out of death’s doors.
Man, what a kickass semblance. Birdboy really got lucky with that one, every semblance needs hard work to properly function, but the benefits of a healing semblance were invaluable both in times of strife and in times of peace.
Came the point when he could not keep bleeding me out in good conscience. So he disconnected the IV and let me go. I knew not to protest, as much as I would have liked to give a little more, I knew my own life would be in danger if I tried to do so. And that would be two injured people for Jack to care for instead of one.
I very slowly got on my feet. Dizzy from the bloodloss, but I could take it, it was not something as extreme as the Apathy’s will siphoning powers. This was something easily endurable in comparison.
Dawson seemed to agree since he produced a couple pills from his medkit and handled them to me. I didn’t know what they were, maybe adrenaline or vitamins, but I trusted his judgment nonetheless, so I swallowed them through the pain of my injured throat.
I looked at Chloro. If she was still conscious, I would issue a small salute before going away, I was still training to be a huntress, I had an aura that could keep me whole for a while, so I planned to use it until it was reduced to nothing.
As I approached a man looked to me like the foreman of the operation. I couldn’t help but to mull on what I had felt when the Apathy hit me with its shriek mere moments ago... Damn it, where things really that bad still? I thought I was getting better if even a little at a time. But I had bent over and basically accepted death at the slightest sight of that thing.
I just hoped it was purely the strength of the Grimm attack, and not just me looking for an excuse to give up... Shaking my head, I decided it was enough of that, so kept walking forward, focusing on other things for the moment.
As I was doing that, I came to the conclusion that I really fucking hated Apathies. I would have to work on getting sturdier defenses for them in the future if something like that could even be achieved in the first place.
Before I could reach my target, I noticed someone shouting in the vicinities. Trying to calm the people but being ignored by the workers and civilians that still wouldn’t calm the fuck down... Oh! Wait, it was Powehi! So she probably knew what she was doing, as far as I was concerned, she was quite a capable individual...
...And then she started telling these clearly scared people that the Grimm were coming here... Come on. Powehi, are you for real?. Dealing with people was certainly not her forte, it seemed. I mean, it wasn’t mine either, but at least wasn’t making it worse... Well, whatever, at least she was trying or something.
I would still have told her to shut up before making it worse. But I couldn’t exactly talk too much so I limited myself to shake my head in disappointment. In that vein, I took out my scroll and typed some stuff before showing the screen to the foreman.
“Is everyone here? Anyone missing or hurt?”
He looked at the screen for a second, and then around him before quietly drawing near me to whisper something to my ear. Apparently, they were expecting a supply cargo missing, and that he feared the Grimm got to the driver.
Alright, that sounded like something that needed to be dealt with. So I nodded in agreement and placed my hand on his shoulder for reassurance. He shied away, of course, especially after catching a glimpse of my tail. But whatever, I didn’t live for his praise or anything.
I looked around plenty of students still defending the perimeter. So I could afford to go away for a while to see if I could get any clue. Without delay, I grabbed my weapon and started scouting the direction the Grimm were supposed to...
You know what... We had some troubles already because we believed someone who came shouting about Grimm earlier. So I would go with my gut for this one, I headed in the opposite direction. Using the same tactic I had used to scout earlier. Big pillar goes up with huntress on top, and an eye opened for anything suspicious.
After a little more than half a kilometer away from the site. I finally saw something that caught my attention, there appeared to be some weird shapes in the distance, and closing my eyes to pay attention, I managed to hear the distinct whinny of a horse.
Now that was interesting. Getting out of my pillar, I started running in that direction. And lo and behold, I found the missing supply run. The cart itself had two broken wheels and the horse supposed to pull it looked really agitated. I approached as loudly as I could. Stepping hard and striking both halves of my bo against each other to make some noise. Once I was close enough, I notice someone looking at me from behind the cart.
It was a single man, about 30 years old. He looked really scared to see me there, trembling and asking who I was. He flinched when I reached for my pocket but relaxed noticeably once I showed him my Haven student Id. I signaled as best as I could that I could not talk, so he got the message and proceeded to explain the situation to me.
He was going through with delivering the supplies. When the sight of a group of armed people in the distance scared him away, he lost control of his animal and ended up crashing against a nearby tree, breaking two wheels on the cart and one leg on his body when he fell to the ground.
Alright, so he was alive at least. So as gently as I could, I carried him to the back of the cart. Where I used a nearby stick and some of my already damaged clothes to immobilize his leg. Damn, I always seemed to end up in the same situation, sooner or later I would need to think about seriously investing in carrying medical bandages for missions...
You know what, that sounded like something I had been really stupid not to do until now. Yeah, probably a good idea to be at least moderately prepared for cases like this, I'd make a mental note of that.
Anyway. Regarding the cart, I was no carpenter, but I had a semblance that let me solidify pieces of earth into durable objects so... Yeah, making two new wheels was no big deal at this point.
Climbing on the horse, I began the ride back to the camp. That cart would not be rolling again anytime soon once I went away from it, but they could get to fixing it later, it was not a priority.
Once I arrived, the foreman looked fairly relieved to have both the supplies he had been missing, and his lost companion. So I gently handled the man back to the medical support and went on the look for more shit to do while he worked around hot to get the work back on track.
The Grimm hadn’t arrived already, at least not in numbers that the others wouldn’t be able to crush with ease, so there was still a little time for raising morale.

Poison coursed through her veins as all she could focus on was vomiting and retching and the pure agony that she could feel all over her body. Whatever poison this was, hell no matter what poison it was, it would always have such profound affects on someone whos just skin and bone. The pain was unbearable as she vomited all she could out before it was dry heaving and retching as her body continued to try and vomit up everything possible. Her vision was blurring and clouding up as someone came to her aid, and she was placed on rock and stone and dirt before being moved. She could tell Bianca was the one who came, but she couldn't hear much of what she was saying.
Then, she felt herself get placed down somewhere else, and another person came into view. She felt something drain from her wound and the pain was starting to subside before she heard someone else vomiting. Her attention turned straight to said person, which seemed to be Bianca as well. Had the Manticore got her too? That wasn't good, but as much as she tried to move, her body refused to move. After losing so much blood, her vision would darken and brighten every now and then as she slipped in and out of conciousness. She couldn't tell what was happening anymore, so she let the small respite take.
When she came too again, Bianca was gone and she was with some guy with a medkit and an IV connected to her, with blood going in... or out. She panicked and tried to break free before stopping. She felt better, and she could move again. This guy must be giving her blood, and thank-fucking-god it was the right type. Even if Chloro didn't know if it was or not, she wasn't having the lethal reaction that could be happening if it was the wrong type. Sitting up from the ground she was on, she searched the area for any signs of Bianca before turning back to the medic helping her. She took a few deep breaths before bowing her head in thanks to the man before ripping the IV out with a wince and a hiss. Bianca could be hurt, she drained the poison so she could be in a worse spot.
But... it seemed the situation was worsening here. Panic was setting in and with the rise in panic, Grimm would follow shortly after. Catching a brief glimpse of Sienna, the friend that helped with her weaponry, she figured up a plan that could keep her safe whilst she dealt with such threats. Scrambling to her feet, she still felt horrifically dizzy but she stumbled and pushed through the crowds before finding her rifle and ammunition she brought with. Slinging the bag around her shoulders, she began to push through for Sienna. She looked a bit perplexed but she put a hand on her shoulder from behind and quickly showed a message on her scroll that she had prepared. "Can you get me up somewhere high? Aura broke, can't open doors, feeling sick, just need help getting to a higher spot then I'll deal with any Grimm that comes."
The remaining bandits that had anything that resembled a brain inside their heads flee the scene immediately, scattering into multiple directions without any sense of organization or leadership to them. It was likely that at least a couple of them would find themselves completely lost on the vast forest of Mistral, or devoured by Grimm eventually.
A few made a charade of staying to fight for a couple more minutes, but it became clear that they were bluffing once this resistance was completely washed away the second their leader was wrestled to the ground. After seeing that, they decided staying just to be killed wasn’t worth their time.
After being easily defeated in her attempt to lunge at the Kozak leader, the bandit found it in her best interest to stay very still, and very quiet as she listened to Alina describe her plan. At first, the blonde woman looked a little confused, but suddenly a spark seemed to lit in her eyes, and she nodded vigorously at the promise of being set free once their little chat was over.
And to Alina’s surprise, she started crying her eyes out and loudly wailing as she stuck really close to her body, almost uncomfortably so. -T-those savage brutes! I was so scared! I thought they were going to sell me as a slave!- She cried out in the most annoying voice possible. -How dare they do this to me? Thank you! Who knows what they would have done to poor me if you didn’t save me! You are my hero!- She would continue to babble stuff like this all the way through unless Alina told her to stop. Otherwise following every order to a T.
On her way back, the leader of the Kozaks along with everyone else in that forest could see that the bandits were encountering opposition already. Some of them running away or fighting lesser Grimm, and some of them engaged in small skirmishes with the occasional Haven student patrolling the forest.
In the distance, one could hear different variations of the words “HALT” or “VILLAIN” or even “JUSTICE” being uttered by a booming voice. Along with an eventual shout of “IS THAT RUQA REYES?” before a blonde boy landed an honestly surprising trick shot against a mass of Grimm. There was no Ruqa Reyes in there this time, fortunately, but the sheer precision of the trainee was enough to be pretty scary.
The rest of the fights were at least less annoying. A guy was using an army of rats of all things to fight off some bandits, alongside an edgy-looking girl dressed in black and red, zooming along with dual swords in her hands. Nothing to write home about, there were some weird-ass semblances in Haven after all.
On the edge of the forest. A blonde man could be seen, arms crossed and standing very still in front of a pair of surrendered bandits with their hands behind their necks and kneeling on the floor. Beyond that, the construction site awaited.
In there, Sienna continued her efforts to calm the people down, but to little avail, as they were still too scared to stop for a second and listen to her. The fight in the forest seemed distant, but most people there knew that it just took a single Grimm slipping through to tear one of them apart in a second.
As for Chloro, the doctor tried to stop her from getting up at first. But she seemed insistent on it, so he reluctantly let her go. People were hurting around him still, so he needed every precious second he could afford. So if that girl was feeling good enough to go and wander around, there was little he could do.

A cold shiver goes down her spine, powerful enough to make the hairs on her neck stand up. Blue eyes shift back and forth as Ruqa puts her fists up to brace from some unknown impending danger that was, for some odd reason, suspiciously familiar. It was actually really upsetting that she didn't know what that feeling was but she felt like she wanted to punch something or duck.
Well whatever it was, it took away some of the satisfaction that she would have expected from fighting bandits.
A hooded man wielding a scythe and a bearded swordsman rush out of the woods towards her only to be served fistfuls of metal for their trouble.
They drop to the ground, clutching their faces in pain. With bleary eyes, they look back up at the huntress who put them there in the first place and watch as Ruqa winds up her arms for another round of punches. The pair wince in fear and raise their hands in surrender. They weren't going to last any longer without their leader and they knew it. Their best hope is that the huntress standing above them was a forgiving one.
Ruqa breathes a sigh of relief, laughing at herself for being concerned in the first place. She grabs the twin idiots by the scruff of their shirts and tosses them onto the pile of unconcious bandits along with the rest of the trash.
Heh. No lie, it was still fun.
Dusting off her hands, her attention is quickly drawn by the sounds of a screeching woman in strange looking clothing, perfusely thanking her savior for taking her away from the bandits. Apparently, she had just barely escaped being sold into slavery so Ruqa could definitely understand why the woman would be so relieved.
Slavers? Shit, you really think that stuff like that only happens in Vacuo but it seemed that even Mistral had problems like that, just out of eyesight of the kingdom.
Ruqa kneels down and slaps a downed bandit awake. The latter starts up, realizing he was still in the middle of a grimm and huntsman infested forest and scrambles to get to his feet. He finds that he isn't able to as Ruqa's prosthetic hand launches out and grabs him by his shaggy mane of hair and pushes his face back into the dirt.
"So recap," Ruqa smirks, half paying attention to the bandit under her grip as she holds a prosthetic fist in front of her and admires her handiwork. "You got your ass kicked by a Haven trainee and you are going to start begging for your life by giving me what I want. And what I really want is to know what your plan for the rest of the slaves are and where are they right now?"
"If you decide not to tell me anything, think that not squeeling on your friends is gonna earn you any mercy... I mean, I guess I could start breaking bones right now, y'know?" Ruqa laughs, devoid of any humour.
"Oh right, I need to let you breath," Ruqa adds, now reminded that she had been pressing the man nose and mouth deep in wet forest floor mulch. She loosens her hold, allowing the man to push himself off the ground, but maintaining her iron grip so he couldn't run away.
"Speak. I'm not going to repeat myself."
"Alright alright I'll ta-"
"Bosley, keep your mouth shut or I'll make you wish this huntress put you out of your misery."
Ruqa swiveled around only to find the wrong end of a rifle pointed at her face. Temper rising, she glared at the face of this new bandit. Dressed in the same poor quality gear the rest of the chaff had on but holding a gun that looked dangerous even by her standards.
How did she not see this person coming? She wasn't so green that she would let her guard down in the forest and she was certain she never heard any footsteps behind her. It had to be someone with a great deal of stealth or a semblance of some kind.
The man under her groaned and resigned to stay silent. Either option wasn't looking good for him
"I suppose telling you to put your hands up would be a pointless thing, spider girl, none the less I'm going to have to ask you to keep em where I can sees em," the green bandit asks in a rather calm drawl in spite of how badly the day was going for them.
She releases her hold on the bandit she now knew as Bosley and lays her hands flat across the ground, but keeps in a good position to get a running start if she could find a window of opportunity. Despite being up close, she couldn't get a good look on this bandit who was hiding their identity by tugging the sides of their hood across their face, only keeping one trained eye exposed.
"This has been a shit day, you' know? I kept telling her it was a dumb idea, attacking when so many people were around. We should have played it safe but NO, we had to charge in with our dicks in our hands like idiots. At least, I don't have to listen to her orders anymore I mean honestly, the coward should have taken the honourable way out and slit her stomach. Instead she went down begging, probably going to tell the authorities about our base for a lighter sentence. I mean, sheesh," the bandit droned on about their many complaints, suggesting that they've been having these thoughts for a while and only now being able to speak freely about them.
Ruqa would have found it amusing too if it wasn't for the shitty situation she was in and the fact that the bandit was gesturing with their gun in her face.
"But let no one say I'm not an opportunistic person. I know how to calculate risks, to take chances when they drop right in front of you. In fact, I'm starting to see there is now room for advancement, seeing that my previous boss has just taken a leave of notice."
"Today is going to be a new start for our merry little band. Under my new leadership, we'll do it smart this time," the bandit laughs. "Maybe that scary creep had the right idea about hostages. You really want to know what our plans are? You'll soon find out."

[attr="class","nikki109"]Unfortunately, though neither Alina nor her new hostage would know it, the former bandit leader’s screaming had confused a Haven student so much that they then got ambushed and possibly redirected attention away from the actual, thus far unseen transport of actual slavers to rumble through unimpeded. [break][break]
What she was focused on right now, frankly, was keeping that hostage alive and getting back to the main camp. She had neglected to actually break the blonde’s aura, which would help a little, but the sheer volume of violence happening around them made that aura breaking before the end of this pretty likely. After the stunt she pulled earlier, there was no bandit actually dumb enough to fuck with her on the way out. The decent acting from the former bandit leader would make any reasonable bystander not think Alina, despite her getup, was a bandit unless they were well and truly a fucking idiot. [break][break]
Unfortunately, that didn’t narrow down the list of fucking idiots in the vicinity. There was soon someone in their way, somehow deciding that it was worth his time to go all the way across the fighting and bother them. ”Surrender, bandit!” he would all but scream, the blonde idiot from the incident with the Grimm human… thing. He had a… gun… lance… thing aimed at her chest as he barked his command, like it mattered. It was the same voice the wolf faunus heard yelling vague nonsense earlier, so she knew that talking him out of the course of action with logic or reason was out of the way. The only language that savages like this could understand was violence, and Alina never had a problem with providing that violence. [break][break]
Left leg raised quickly so that the heavily reinforced toe connected with the gunlance and made it fire way more upwards and out towards the great nothing outside of Mistral rather than at her chest. She was hoping to knock it out of his hands entirely, but he was stronger physically than she gave him credit for. Her left hand was still holding the hand of the bandit leader, and she wasn’t going to let go so instead pulled her sidearm from its holster and emptied the clip into the guy’s chest. His aura was made of paper and shattered with that, and while he was rocked with that the wolf faunus cocked her right hand made to smash the grip of the pistol right into his jaw to force him to the ground. [break][break]
He finally dropped the gunlance, then, and Alina kicked it away from him in short order before snapping the middle finger and thumb of her right hand to melt it down more than enough to render it useless. ”Mistral would be safer if you got turned into Grimm chow.” she’d sneer before dragging the blonde back towards the camp. The encounter had wasted time, enough that the fighting behind them was closer than she’d like and she could start to hear the Grimm creeping up in their direction. The thought crossed her mind that the guy would actually turn into Grimm chow due to being left there with his aura down and no weapon… but frankly that was probably the best outcome for the capital at large and its people in general. [break][break]
”Don’t let off that you’re not helpless. Would raise too many questions.” she’d suggest in a low voice as she reached around and drew her szabla from its metal scabbard as they approached the camp, cutting down any Grimm they encountered along the way. She moved in a way that would make them intercept large clumps of those monsters, thankfully of the lesser variety, and cut a path back to the camp while thinning their numbers considerably in the process. Turns out having one person take care of most of the work emboldened those more martially minded among the group near the stage and the former soldier ended up getting some help – enough that the Grimm were pushed back much easier than most of them may have anticipated. The lights were shot to hell, which was annoying, but not the end of the world. [break][break]
As she walked through the crowd, she sheathed her blade and pulled out her scroll from the left front pocket and made a call to the supervisor on shift at the closest guard post. ”Gonna need a car to come do an early partial pickup. Some Grimm around so bring an armored one, yeah? See you soon.” [break][break]
It was awkward to put it back in the pocket, but good enough. She was transmitting her GPS coordinates and that was enough. When they moved away from the crowds, Alina would lean in and say in a low enough voice that she doubted she’d be overheard. ”We’ll chat in a more private spot. Never know who’s listening in.” [break][break]
Turning the radio in her helmet back on immediately after, she gave an update to Sienna and Russet. ”Taking the VIP back. Main threat seems to be gone, and you should be able to handle the rest. Doubt there’ll be much that gets done today after all these delays, but do what you can. Out.” [break][break]
Finding out the why and who was more important than anything else right now, frankly, and ironically this was probably the safest place in Mistral for that bandit leader to be. Alina’s general skill set made her perhaps the most effective bodyguard in the country when her charge had aura. All of her weaknesses in a fight boiled down to her horrific mobility, but when faced with a situation where enemies were forced to come to her… it was over before it started. [break][break]
The blonde wasn’t going to have any harm come to her at least until they had a nice, long chat about what the fuck happened today. Having the bloodthirsty morons at Haven or some overzealous mercenary take that from her was the main concern at this point, and she was doing her best to make sure that didn’t happen. She had already watched as one psychopath killed the only person in the area who could give any sort of useful information in one instance, and it wasn’t happening again. This time they’d get something from it, and this time they’d get actionable information almost guaranteed. These weren’t low grade mercenaries, these were people clever enough to cage Apathy and bolt armor onto a manticore. [break][break]
They worked for someone, and had a purpose here. If Alina had not been there, they would have likely fulfilled that purpose without any real resistance once the apathy killed everyone there. The wolf faunus needed to know what that purpose was, and of course how they managed to harness the Grimm in the first place. That was an interesting concept, really, especially considering the practical uses of such an endeavor in non-urban settings. [break][break]

Sadly, I didn’t have much time to rest at all, as a certain commotion in the distance drawn my attention.
Fucking hell, I was not feeling nearly well enough to deal with heavy fighting now, leading the supplies here had given me a little motion sickness thanks to the blood loss. So I was fighting a losing battle against my own body to keep the contents of my stomach to myself.
But if the other students were there risking their lives, I couldn’t just hide away here until I felt better. Not while they could be in danger of dying without any help. So I drew a deep breath and began walking in the direction of the noise, using my staff as a cane to help me walk till there.
On my way there, I manage to catch a glimpse of Chloro, apparently, that dumb girl had managed to recover somewhat and was currently searching for a high place to perch herself in and snipe any approaching Grimm. Clicking my tongue, I decided to ignore that for the moment, if she wasn’t even well enough to get herself to a good position, then she was not in any condition to be fighting Grimm.
Or bandits, from what I was hearing as I set foot on the edge of the forest. I guess that made sense, someone had to be responsible for unleashing those Grimm in this clearing. So that was one more thing to be worried about I guessed...
Whatever the case, I started walking towards where the biggest pocket of fighting seemed to be taking place, the rest of the trainee’s seemed to be handling themselves nicely enough, so I didn’t get in their way more than to kill the stray Grimm that charged in my direction every now and then or the like. But even doing that felt like such a drag now.
After killing a small Beowulf, I finally managed to reach my destination, a small clearing where a trainee was seemingly interrogating a downed bandit. Getting closer, I managed to get the details without revealing my position. After all, who knows how many of these fuckers could be around?
Alright. Apparently, it was Ruqa Reyes. Wich was a nice change of pace. She was good, a pretty capable trainee as far as I could tell, and she seemed just about to get some nice information out of a dude when a voice interrupted them both. And now I was feeling very glad that I had avoided revealing my position thus far.
I peeked from behind a tree as the man pointed his gun at Ruqa, it was a nasty-looking thing. Good tech, not excellent, but good enough to guarantee that his man was not any run-of-the-mill bandit, probably an officer or captain of some sort.
He started going in a rant about how shitty their leader was or something, and how they would be better off now since he was apparently the new leader. Such a moving display of loyalty didn’t manage to shake me in the least. So as he seemed prepared to try and fight Ruqa. I emerged from the woods.
My pace was not really very steady, I was still relying on the makeshift cane to advance, and my cape now was in tatters from all the bandages and shit I had to do previously.
My face remained half-obscured from the shadow of the hood but otherwise, it was pretty clear that I was a trainee even without my weapon on display.
The man noticed me. But instead of trailing his gun on me, he doubled down, making a threatening gesture towards my schoolmate Ruqa.
-Who are you? Bah! It’s not like it matters... Stand back, little girl! Unless you want me to spray the floor with her brain before moving onto yours!-
The man cried out, trying to appear dangerous, I gave him a tired look, unimpressed. I wondered if he had noticed already, or was still none the wiser about his situation.
-What? You believe you are hot shit? It’s always the same with you Haven students, nothing more than a bunch of psychos I tell you! If you give a shit about your partner you are going to walk back and...-
I merely shrugged and kept walking towards him. It was not as if I could talk at all now, the adrenaline started to fade out and I was beginning to feel the pain in my throat again. Holy shit, I just hopped the damage wouldn’t be long-lasting.
-Fine! Have it your way!- Yelled the man dramatically before pulling the trigger of his gun... And having it blow up on his hands immediately. Making him let out a startled cry of pain as chunks of metal fell to the floor.
Of course, it is hard to fire your weapon when it’s filled to the brim with chunks of solidified stone. Stones that he didn’t notice creeping through the gun’s barrel since he was too busy looking between Ruqa and me.
So much for calculated risks. Seems like he was pretty bad at math.
-Huh... Let’s not get ahead of ourselves...- Tried to bargain the now unarmed burglar, finally realizing that I was way too close for comfort now that he had let me approach unchallenged. He tried to go for a sidearm but a column of earth erupted behind him, pushing him at high speeds towards me and into a well-prepared lariat that finished what was left of his aura.
He would be regaining consciousness any time soon. This meant that with any luck the police would get to interrogate him and hopefully gain a clue of what in the actual fuck this attack was all about.
With that done, I turned towards Ruqa and opened my mouth to speak before the pain reminded me that talking was out of the question... Well, this was awkward. I tried pointing to my throat and shaking my head to try and communicate why I had been so disturbingly silent thus far.
But it seemed like life had other plans in the shape of a small swarm of lancers of all things. Who seemed attracted to all the fighting around this area. Groaning, I took out my bo and got to work on them. Flying Grimm were, unsurprisingly, way faster than their land counterparts, so it was no surprise that they, in particular, would be able to slip past us.
I killed a couple of them with my weapon, but there were plenty of them to go around. And they all seemed awfully persistent in being a fucking pest. Flying circles around me instead of getting all into a nice clump so I could take them down with my semblance in one swift blow.
It was a pain in the ass, but even this wouldn’t have been so bad if not for me suddenly losing my footing and falling to my knees to vomit... Damn... This... This was not good. I was beginning to feel dizzy again. And the Grimm were not exactly known for their mercy or for being a fair sport.
So much for me giving shit to Chloro, it looked like I was doing the exact same thing. Welp, at the very least, Ruqa seemed okay. And she had stopped these bandits and their slave thing, so chances were that the captives could escape while I keep these fucking Grimm entertained. It was the worst-case scenario, of course, but it was a slight relief nonetheless.

Her head was pounding from the chaos around her and she was getting increasingly irritated with the situation. From how the bandits were talking, they already dealt with the worst of it. Like immediately. All that was left was some leftovers and some Grimm that had breached the walls and had been milling around the forest long before now. It should be easy to clean it all up and make sure no one gets mauled if they'd just go to some defensible location instead of running around like morons making too much noise and making it difficult to think. Or to hear the people trying to help them.
Speaking of complete fucking morons someone that could barely walk came up to her and asked her to take her to a vantage point. As though Chloro would actually be able to hit anything in her current state, especially with the chaos around the construction site. Considering they were in a forest, hitting something over long distances would be hard. The Grimm would probably have to get relatively close, and by then Chloro would risk hitting one of the civilians in her current condition. Sienna blinked and glared, like she couldn't believe what she was hearing and was trying to gauge whether Chloro was being serious or not.
Fortunately, she had the presence of mind to not say anything and recognized that her thoughts were getting really rude. Unnecessarily rude. All this noise was stressing her out and she needed a moment to calm herself down. She lifted a finger to signal Chloro to give her a sec, then pulled her hood over her eyes and ears and took a moment to take a few deep breaths. That wouldn't be enough to make her feel good, but it should at least help her think a little more clearly.
Okay.
Chloro couldn't fight. Probably. That much was obvious. She wasn't sure what happened, but trying to fight without aura was unnecessary in these conditions. Even she'd be more useful against Grimm at this point despite her inexperience. But it was unlikely that Chloro would listen to that and would go running off on her own if she didn't get help. At this point it'd be better to redirect Chloro into doing something useful.
"Come with me," she offered Chloro a hand. "I'm going to try to get people to take cover in the machinery. It'll be easier to defend there. You fight at range yeah? Can you be the last line of defense? Protect the people we can get over there?"
It sounded better than 'go hide you dumbass' in her mind, so hopefully Chloro would be willing to listen to that.
Now she just had to figure out how to get these people to listen to her. Alina did it pretty naturally, and failing that, could put out some impressive display of power to shut people up. Sienna couldn't do any of that. Based on the amount of people bumping into her, they barely even noticed her. She was at a loss, but there had to be something she could do right? For now, she was okay with taking Chloro into definitely-not-cover while she tried to figure it out.

Attempting Problem: Organize the civilians! (Social 9) Using: Mechanic F, Perception F Result: 8 + 0 = 8 (not solved)
Welp, she seems to have fallen for it. Great![break] [break]
Holly hadn't given Horny the address of the slaver camp! It was all a well-orchestrated lie![break] [break]
And she seemed to be eating it up like it was a nice and sweet cupcake made of deception like the gullible idiot that she was! Then again, the little lie wasn't done because Holly wouldn't give up a bunch of slavers for her friend to maim and enact vengeance on. They were slavers! That is like...horrible! Holly simply didn't have the location of where this particular transport was going in the first place. They would have no reason to ask Holly, and she didn't particularly had any desire to ask about it! [break] [break]
Likewise, she didn't had any freaking clue if these people were going to be farm slaves, or mine slaves, or simply used for organs or something like that! Hell, maybe they were going to be eaten! Holly hoped they would simply work on a farm and live alrightish lives, but that was now fully out of her control! [break] [break]
They were no longer a 'Holly-problem'. They were a...societal injustice kind of deal that we all know is wrong but still engage in! [break] [break]
Welp, no reason to spend another thought about any of that! She was going to get some ice cream with the person she hopefully will get rid of very soon. Hopefully get to some random village in the wilderness and just stay there and become a farmhand. Something like that. Listing to Horny's questions and request, the girl simply began to walk and answer her.[break] [break]
"I want to get Erikk some clothing as well. Maybe a weapon?" Holly wondered out loud. It is more so the gesture that counts when giving gifts to your captive boyfriend. "And about you, you can get whatever you want. Well, within reason...but yeah, you can get two parkas if you want. Maybe three!" She added with a chipper tone. Hell, Holly would have buried Horny in parkas if it managed her to stop trying to sour the mood with bringing in her ethical concerns...[break] [break]
...[break] [break]
On their way over to the nearest clothing store, Holly's scroll began to buzz. "Hold up, my bae is texting me!" Stopping right in her tracks in the middle of the street, Holly took out her scroll to quickly look over the text. Giving one firm nod, she simply gave her reply. 'Honey-bun! Don't overexert yourself! The hobos you got are loyal and won't squeal! Still, you failed and I am somewhat disappointed! Mommy will need to be a little harsh on you, but don't worry. I will get you something nice as well. Also, you are texting some pretty damning evidence on that scroll right about now! Woops! What did we say about codewords! Silly-billy! Burn the device or don't come home at all! I will get you a fresh one.'[break] [break]
Holly wasn't really sure if Erikk was going to destroy his scroll...and a good lawyer could probably still spin it if they found the device after he got capture or what not...but Holly was more curious if he would actually do it. Also, she was somewhat upset that her hobos got captured. They were like...a resource. She had a finite number of her servants and they needed to do stuff in the community. She also needed to tell some of the children why their daddy's didn't come home...ugh, it is going to be a thing! [break] [break]
"Damnit Erik...I will not only get you one sweater..." Holly said as the only acknowledgment about the conversation to Horny, before continuing their little stroll again to find a clothing store. Sounding... disappointed. Getting towards the first shops again in the streets again, Holly felt...moody about it all. Her hobos getting arrested mostly, not about the other hobos she just sold into slavery. She looked a bit glum. Sad little her. You could call it a problem of sorts. Using your own social skills to cheer up a sad little pint-sized sewer dictator. Helping a horrible person feel better who didn't deserve it, and trying to see if whatever reward you got out of it is worth it to validate aiding this miserable pinkette. [break] [break]

Ruqa watched on as a lump of earth grew into the inner parts of the bandit's gun and how the thug was easily swatted down by her fellow classmate. There was some satisfaction in watching the other huntress work but her pride was getting in the way of being genuinely appreciative about the interuption.
She was about to bark out that she had the situation handled, that she didn't need the help, but soon saw the extent of Bianca's injuries.
Surely Bianca still had aura left, given that she could still make use of her manipulation semblance but what kind of trouble did she get into to get these kinds of injuries?
Instead of getting frustrated at her own weakness, Ruqa just swallows her pride and mutters a quick "Thank you" to Bianca. Normally she would be a lot more chatty but it didn't feel right to waste time if Bianca was in pain just trying to talk to her.
The quiet didn't last long though as the sounds of a dozen buzzing wings fill the air. The hair on the back of her neck stands up and she stands up to fight. They wouldn't be able to run fast enough to get away from flying grimm so standing their ground was their option.
Bianca, ever the brave huntress, takes charge of the fight and swings her bo staff, knocking lancers out of the air, but unable to kill all of the grimm herself as they fly just out of weapon range.
Whatever was going on with her, it wasn't getting any better as Bianca looked weaker and weaker by the second.
Normally, Ruqa would be the one panicing in this situation seeing that she had no ranged options herself and had the rely on her classmates to take out lancers the last time she encountered them. But they were all alone out here and if Bianca wasn't able to do it that meant Ruqa had to step up to the occassion.
"Shit shit shit," Ruqa panics, gearing into fight mode before charging ahead of her.
Ruqa's arms glow as she activates her semblance, gaining the strength and speed that follows it. Combining her powers with her natural agility, Ruqa launches herself to the top of the trees, using her arms and legs to maneuvere along the canopy to gain height. Reaching the tallest point, she plants her feet onto the side of the bark and propells herself into the air, above and into the airborn swarm of Lancers.
If Ruqa ever had a phobia of bees and wasps, this was going to be the inciting event for her.
She swats an incoming dart out of the air but takes a second shard to the shoulder. Ruqa doesn't slow down as she moves from foot to foot on the backs of the lancers, unbalancing their flight paths, and bringing them low enough for other close range fighters to handle.
She isn't able to maintain her feat in the air for long as the lancer swarm keeps sinking down. Ruqa eventually falls but not before unleashing a wild storm of punches at any lancer she can see. Bug parts fall out of the air around them as Ruqa tumbles out of the air, out onto the ground while using her more durable prosthetics to cushion the fall.
Sliding to a halt in the dusty forest floor, Ruqa rolls onto her back, her eyes pointed up to the sky where she can admire the cascade of lancer bits falling all around them and eventually disintegrating into dusts.
"Damn that's disgusting.... I wonder if people think of me as a bug and get sick at the idea of tangling with my extra appendages... Meh."
Still flat on the ground, Ruqa turns to see how Bianca is doing only to watch as the lizard faunus empties her stomach just a few feet away from her.
"....Uh. There, there. It's okay," says Ruqa, attempting a comforting tone but makes no attempt to get closer to the splash zone. Ruqa does not usually do soothing so it isn't necessarily the most helpful.
"It's ah... all good. Why have all our meetings at some point involve vomit??" Ruqa asks, not only to Bianca, but to the universe at large. "At this rate, if the pattern continues, I'm gonna be the next one," Ruqa adds worryingly.
There wouldn't be much opportunity to continue this lovely conversation as a solitary Ursa Minor stumbles out of the forest clearing. The side of it's face is still smoking, suggesting someone had recently gotten a blow on it's face, shattering some of it's bony mask but it's presence here also suggested that it had gotten the best of that person.
Thinking back, Ruqa had tangled with an ursa way bigger than this for sure.... not that she wanted to do it again, especially with Bianca looking like she was on death's door.
Ruqa jumps to action, steps carefully over to Bianca, vomit be damned, and extends a hand to pull the other up if Bianca is concious enough to take the offer.
"Uh ha ha yeah we're running. Up up up!"
Ruqa would stick close to Bianca but try to push the other in the direction of the larger group. Hopefully, they wouldn't run into yet another pack of grimm on their way there but considering their luck, it was looking rather likely.

As the students were busy engaging groups of bandits and the inevitable Grimm their fights spawned (Among them a duo of huntresses being tailed by a particularly angry Ursa) They didn't notice a suspicious shape moving in the distance for the moment.
A lonely truck filled with faunus slaves rolled away, undisturbed as of yet, and trying as best as it could to avoid the pockets of heavy combat in the forest.
The truck was maybe a couple hundreds of meters away. But it was still visible even from the construction site and wasn’t going particularly fast. So sharp eyes and ears could likely go and intercept it if their curiosity got the better of them.
If they decided to do so, they would find the driver to be a damn ugly fucker with dark sunglasses and a rugged look. Donnegan would try to appear cool and collected, but an underline of nervousness in his demeanor would be noticeable to a trained eye. And he and his armed guards would look particularly defensive about people not bothering their “Workers”.
Back in the construction site. The people still run amok in panic. But at least the medical teams seemed to be handling themselves well, so there was a bare semblance of organization. At least enough for Alina’s vehicle to manage to make its way through undisturbed.
Of course, some people began to panic at the sight of the armored vehicle arriving as well, but they seemed to calm down somewhat when they realized it was not a new bandit incursion.
The extraction itself was a swift one. With the people as agitated as they were and the fighting going on in the forest, everyone was too distracted or too busy to care for making their life any harder by trying to stop them. And the blonde bandit leader kept her act for as long as the Kozak ordered without a hitch.
