Scorpion sting, I don't wanna

tell me that I'm not
lost
With a quick nod, Jack's semblance burst to life, silvery white enveloping his wings with a radiant glow, a fainter light spreading across the rest of his body, as he laid a hand on Nasrin's shoulder. It took a moment for the Aura to transfer, but as soon as it did, he rocketed off towards Colton, mentally registering that Nasrin seemed to be following close behind. That was good- surely, he could use the help. However, Jack had no idea just how true that statement was.
All hell had broken loose as the Feilong fell.
There were swarms of Grimm pouring in from every angle, it seemed like. The villagers were in a panic and running around, and while it pained him not to stop to help them, he knew there were too many, and too many Grimm- he could only do so much. And what he could do, was make sure that Colton was well equipped to handle the Grimm, with his considerably-greater power.
The snow would have proved an obstacle in reaching his class captain, but thankfully, he had his wings to keep him hovering above it, as he raced across the top at his fastest speed; his semblance was a helpful transformation, and while the healing aspect was often the one best known by the others, the increases to his speed and durability were just as important to his utility as a support huntsman. It didn't matter if he could heal people, if he couldn't get to them before his time limit ran out, or if his Aura reserves were too low to draw on, after all.
As it stood, he was significantly faster than Nasrin, and likely the second-fastest person in Rochdale, with his semblance active, overall, along with Argent. Where Argent had to trod through the thick snow, however, Jack was fortunate enough to have two modes of transportation that paired well with one another. He zipped across the snow as quickly as he could, dodging the Grimm running about around him. He did his best to avoid coming into any contact with them, as he needed to preserve all of his own Aura for healing Colton's, as soon as he reached him.
A wicked crack of lightning rippled through the air, as the Feilong roared in defiance. That wasn't good.
As he approached, he could see the draconic Grimm off in the distance, as well as what looked like Colton slipping into a nearby building, just in time to avoid the deadly breath weapon of the Grimm.
Jack was suddenly significantly more aware of his heartbeat pounding in his chest.
That monster of a Grimm could rip through him in one attack. One attack, and he'd be dead.
He had to move quickly and carefully.
It was beneficial to him that the emotion dampers were coursing through his system still, unlike some of the other trainees. While that might not be enough to keep the Grimm away from him, in close quarters, he doubted he would be the explicit target of any of them right away, unless he got too close.
He really wasn't trying to get too close.
At breakneck speed, he took the nearest entrance to the building he could, and preferably one furthest from the Feilong. If he could stay out of its range as he raced to Colton, he should be okay. There were sounds of fighting from his destination, which he only assumed to be Colton taking care of some lesser Grimm.
As he burst into the building, keeping a careful eye and ear out for the Feilong, he realized the new, more pressing and immediate problem; a swarm of lesser Beowolves, surrounding Colton. He kept some distance initially, trying to formulate a plan, and fortunately, in the span of time he took trying to figure out how he could get to Colton, through all of them, Nasrin arrived, stealing the Beowolves' attention easily enough- she was, after all, not taking the dampers anymore, so it only made sense that they would go after her, rather than Colton.
He was a little concerned that they might harm her, but if she seemed confident in playing the distraction, Jack would take her word for it. As she charged through, he too rushed in, and seeing there was only one Beowolf remaining by Colton, he lashed out with his sword, striking it twice, and finishing it with a shield-bash to the head. It managed to catch him with its claws, but as he went on the offensive before it could even turn to face its new opponent, the lunge went wide, and barely dented his heightened Aura at all. As it faded to mist, he felt a small surge of excitement that showed only slightly in his eyes- if Brigit could see him now... He'd come a long ways since the Midterms.
"Colton." He sized up the other trainee, and things did not look good. His armor was split, dent, and cracked, torn all the hell, and he was noticeably missing his sword. That was bad. Jack didn't waste time asking if he needed healing- he just rested his hand on Colton's shoulder, and healed him for as much as he could- which wasn't much, frankly, as Colton's Aura stores were so much bigger than his. Still, he managed to restore 11% of his Aura, and that was a far sight better than what he had to start with. Unfortunately, it still wasn't enough, and now he'd have to wait a few seconds for his own Aura to stabilize before he could do more. Still. While he would have to heal him again soon, but for now, he should have enough to stay in the fight a little longer.
The ground trembled beneath Jack, and while he'd gotten used to the tremors before, these felt deeper, and harder- the Gigas was closing in, and it was closing in quickly. They had to deal with the Feilong fast. "Is there anything else I can do to help?" He was frankly not too hopeful about his usefulness as literally anything other than a healer, but he still wanted to help Colton bring the beast down.
He'd hurt it a lot with his first attack, and no doubt the fall had hurt it as well. It couldn't possibly take much more damage and stay standing, right?
He sure as hell hoped not...
Because his timer was ticking, and his Aura wouldn't hold out much longer...
